Im trying to think of a way Sylvia can finally get rid of Corinne lol. Now that Giroux appears to be divorcing her ;he cant take her back to France which would have been fine with Eva and alot of forum members!!! Now my only hope is that she will hook up with Brett and she will escort him on a worldwide tour with Sixth Ninths!!! . :)

I didnt like Gideon when in Chapter 15 he noted that things had been alot simpler before Eva when he only focussed on work and nothing else. I thought of this as bittersweet because even though it is true to a certain extent I dont think the type of life Gideon had before Eva could actually be called a life. Working all day with a couple of one night stands during the week ; estranged from his family with only a few close friends and hiding behind the global magnate image. What he has with Eva is real and relationships are complicated especially theirs since they have so many outside forces pulling at both of them like gravity. Even Dr. Travis noted that Eva may have been yearning for a simple relationship when she was thinking about Brett as opposed to the complicated one she had with Gideon. But as Eva says , she doesn't know how to walk away and she doesn't want to and neither does Gideon. By chapter 19 Gideon is overwhelmed by just how much of his life Eva had come to fill and he is reeling from the loss. These two are just halves of the same whole and need to keep moving forward despite the obstacles...

I dont think Gideon could have been more clear than in Chapter 7 of CBY when he told Corinne that even if they were together he would have eventually found Eva and he would have left her to be with Eva.I cant see any other way that Gideon could have put her down; that was extremely blunt and to the point. Gideon is NOT sending mixed signals. Corinne is in denial and she has been since she came back to New York. This supposed tell-all book is such a pathetic stunt on her part . It makes her look so desperate and IMO ruins her chances with some other eligible single gazillionaire. Who would want to be with someone that wanted someone else and shouted it from the rooftops for all to hear...Giroux certainly didn't. He dumped her too.

Corinne showed up at the Crossfire that day because she saw Gideon run after Eva at the fund raiser and she knew that he never previously acted that way with women. She knew Gideon was truly in love with Eva and she was desperate to break that connection. She was just popping in to see Gideon hoping they could do lunch but even at this point he had begun pushing her aside knowing it would upset Eva so he never saw her and after that he had his hands full with Nathan. That is why Angus took her home because he was waiting for Gideon to take him to lunch but he never went due to his altercation with Nathan...Corinne was in denial at this point...

Certainly cant disagree with you there Sharon. Eva's research did in fact uncover that the GenTen was the major competitor of Phaze One in Chapter 12. Eva did have major concerns at this point thinking that she would be helping one of Gideon's competitors steal his market share and that made Eva feel guilty knowing how hard Gideon worked. That was also the day she was meeting with Brett so she pushed this issue aside for another day...it was just a matter of time before this issue came to the surface especially since Raul told Gideon that Eva had lunch with Ryan Landon. Eva was in denial about the entire career woman versus Mrs.Gideon Cross issue and Gideon offering Mark a job just brought the issue to the forefront. It came back to bite Eva in the arse...she couldnt be in denial any longer!!

You make a good point about us not knowing much about the Vidal marriage ...One of my unanswered questions from BTY is at the garden party when Gideon makes that curious statement to his mother about Carey...Gideon says " I thought you might like him " just remember he's Eva's friend mother and that makes him mine as well... So maybe Elizabeth wasnt always faithful to Chris Sr and the marriage is not truly a happy one ... What do you all think?

Hi GoshDarnit yes Chris Sr has really stepped up to the plate... I think his guilt over this will be hard to shake; and the betrayal by Elizabeth is huge but down the road I see a reconciliation as long as there is some type of acknowledgement on her part and amends made to Gideon and Eva. I think in the future they will sell the Vidal estate as it holds too many ugly memories for Gideon and now for themselves. I think Chris will not want to break up his family and at the very least he will stay with his wife for Ireland.

Hi agoodbook I am on my third read and I plan to pay particular attention to the Anne and Cary parts ...I know all of us on the forum love to love Cary but I am unfortunately leaning toward thinking he is seeing Anne as a shrink and/or fu$$ing her. If this is true I hope to God he continues to keep Eva's confidences as he always has . But even though Eva considers Carey a brother I do believe he is jealous of Gideon's place in her life. Eva is moving on and Carey is not. In fact he seems to be seriously backpedaling with his two relationships and possibly the baby. And I really dont think he should have agreed to live in the penthouse...Gideva could have arranged some other living situation for him. Most of us do not live with our brothers when we are married. I realize Eva and Carey support each other but they dont have to live together to do it. Eva needs to let go a little because she actually enables Carey and prevents him from living a "real life" independent of her and her financial means. Gideon and Eva need the alone time as a newly married couple. Gideon doesnt want to come home and see Eva relaxing on the couch with her best friend. He wants to come home to his wife waiting for him and I cant blame him. I just wonder how long Gideon will be able to keep his mouth shut...I feel a major battle brewing over this one. :(

Hi jmhope totally agree about Chris Jr trying to force himself on Eva ; i have a feeling Eva will use her Krav Maga on him but she will keep it a secret from Gideon...I just keep thinking OWY is going to have to be at least 500 pages to settle all the issues going on in this series ... We havent even got a hint as to Mommyca's backstory although I think that will be revealed when making the actual guest list for the wedding and if she decides to include her family... As I said at this point I dont believe 500 pages is enough. That was a very serious threat from Anne and I think Raul needs to watch her as closely as Clancy watched Nathan...

At this point I do not believe the tell all will be published. I think it is possible Corinne may back out but more likely I think Gideon will move heaven and earth to stop it even as someone mentioned earlier; buying the publishing company...

Yes I agree that the viral video was the catalyst for Corinne to return to New York. She was probably shocked to see Gideon acting so passionately in a public setting she even mentions it at the end of CBY when Gideon confronts her about the tell all book. The Iceman certainly had thawed and Corinne saw what everyone else did ...the passionate connection between Gideva. That is when all the snakes starting coming out of their holes ; Deanna, Anne and of course Corinne.

In EWY Sam Yimarra is described at the band's wannabe videographer. I dont think he was commissioned by 6/9 to do anything he was basically just a groupie/videographer/voyeur getting off on filming people fu$$ing and trying to fit in . Now the fact that 6/9 has made it big gives him the opportunity to reap financial gain. Brett Kline thought the existence of the video would break up Gideva and when that didnt work he wants to use the tape as a publicity stunt for 6/9 but at the same time turn the knife in Gideon. He wins both ways. The loser in all this is Eva because that video is the ultimate testament to the girl she was before ; a girl she desperately wants to forget. Hopefully Gideon was successful in destroying all the copies.... And I'm sure that Arse Christopher Jr has watched it ...he wants to turn the knife in Gideon too:(.

Gcrossfire I believe you may have something there about Carey and Anne omg as I said earlier she is alot more dangerous than even Gideon suspects and if this is true about Carey she has penetrated the inner circle and is probably devious enough to get her hands on keys and such...in my book she is definitely first on the list for Eva's Krav Maga...

Totally agree with this linda I do not think he had kinky sex with Corinne either ; to quote another famous bestseller I think it was very "vanilla" with those two... . ;)

Yes I do not believe that Anne knows about Hugh; her vendetta against Gideon is completely due to the nature of their kinky sexual relationship and him dumping her... She is completely mad at this point and dangerous... I actually think Gideon is underestimating what she is capable of...

Hi Ladies I have just finished my second read and am ready to blog so here are my "thoughts uncensored" to quote Eva lol: I think we should have known it was going to be a wild ride after we read those first three chapters ... What I didnt like right from the start was Eva stating her confusion about Brett ....really how did she expect Gideon to react ...but then Gideon had to go and open his big mouth about clearing up Corinne's confusion...really how did he expect Eva to react...I am rarely mad at Gideon but I was then. Lol Basically I did not like the first three chapters so much although one bright spot was the introduction of the new character Arash ; what a breath of fresh air and I loved seeing Gideon getting together with his buddies which I think he should do more often to alleviate his Eva obsession a bit lol... Now the San Diego trip was a pleasant surprise!!! I loved how Sylvia teased us with Brett and his backstage blonde making us think omg what is Eva doing when alas it was the look alike. I love when Gideon first realized it wasn't Eva's low husky laugh and I loved how he described the real Eva as she walked backstage as the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen with her effortless beauty and sexuality I loved the fact that Gideon is going to demolish Pete's 69th St bar...he knows Eva wants to forget the girl she was back then so it will serve 2 purposes for Gideon : eradicating the memory of Brett Kline and Eva's wild days...loved when Eva showed up at Gideon's hotel and her introduction to Arash; I think this is one of only a few lighthearted moments in the entire book... I loved how Gideon dealt with Corinne in Chapter 7 finally with the firm detached hand she deserves...I was irritated when Corinne picked up Eva's photo off Gideon's desk; I thought that was rather rude and forward of her but I loved when Gideon told her they could never be friends and that was the last time they would speak...little did he know the Bitc$ had other plans... Omg I cant believe how much I hate Corinne the forum has always hated her and we were 100 percent right on that ladies... I have to admit I was also on team Brett along with Rogue so all I can say to that is to quote Gideon and "take the hit" lol... I loved when Eva and Carey discussed her new name and they both think that Eva Cross sounds "kick-Arse". I do too!!! I loved when Gideon bought the NC beach house for his wife but I especially loved when Eva understood the significance of Geoffrey Cross' pen without Gideon having to tell her... Yes they just "get" each other... Of course the highlight of the book had to be the night out at the Starlight Club and Gideon serenading Eva ; I also think Gideon was in competition with Brett here showing Eva that he in fact could carry a tune and consequently turn her on!!! Loved when Gideon met with Clancey wanting him to back off and he gave him the line about some men need to be put down like rabid dogs... Loved when Gideon was jealous of the interior designer...it was so sad to hear Gideon agonize over how broken he is that he cant even sleep with his wife like who the would want a separate bedroom married to a babe like Eva... All of the baby references... Is Sylvia messing with us?? But it is sad that Gideon questions whether Eva would even want a child with him since he is so fu$$ed up... Oh and I have a theory about Detective Graves; when you read that meeting between her and Eva again Detective Graves sort of freaks when Eva grabs her arm...Could Graves possibly be an abuse/rape victim herself? Perhaps that is why she seems to be on Team Gideva and I think she wants invited to the wedding so she can hit on Victor... Loved the overnight with Ireland at Gideva's penthouse; they are all so cute together and I love when Gideon experiences normalcy... Thanks for reading all of this and I look forward to your posts...

I finished CBY at 630 am and the one word I would use to describe it is BITTERSWEET :(
