Well since we are getting down and dirty lol I do have a question about Gideon's sexual habits...Going down on a woman is a very intimate act and usually reserved for a woman a man really cares about even Gideon refers to it that way when talking to Magdalene about catching him in the library with Eva...He said he was not going to apologiize for making love to his girlfriend in a closed room... So if he didnt use his dic$ to pleasure the women he must really have very skilled hands etc because I just cant see him "eating" for lack of a better term all those hundreds of women and then of course there would be the risk of HPV... Also you make a good point about Christopher and voyeurism... Perhaps he did see what was going on between Gideon and Hugh and has repressed those memories...I wonder if Christopher has nightmares too??? What do you all think??? . :)

I stick with my earlier theory that Graves is an abuse survivor and feels connected to Eva in this way...she doesnt know about Gideon's past but Im sure she has taken advantage of the programs from the Crossroads Foundation and feels she owes him a debt of gratitude like he saved her life so she saved his so to speak...

This is exactly what bothers me about Deanna. There was no reason for her to have to stop by Gideon's office to tell him about Corinne's book deal. That news was going to break the next day anyway in the tabloids and at that point there was nothing he could do to prevent it...Deanna just wanted an excuse to see Gideon and her little comment about "enjoying" the view didn't go unnoticed. Im glad Gideon told her Eva would be there shortly and also his other subtle warnings were perfect. He is finally seeing the light as far as Deanna is concerned and realizes she still wants him. She too is on the short list for Krav Maga. I want her gone too. LoL

Chapter 7 EWY due to Cary's google searches of Dr. Lucas; Eva is now informed that Dr. Lucas' wife is a doctor too... A psychiatrist. There is no mention made of her hair color by Cary or Eva at this point. It is in Chapter 18 of CBY that Gideon informs Eva that she has to be careful around Anne Lucas etc.

Yes Christopher watching the tape is creepy; no wonder Gideon cant sleep; I bet it drives him crazy...especially since he hasnt seen it himself and he can only imagine how bad or not it is. . :(

I think Elizabeth Vidal was just in denial and really unable to cope with the horrible accusations Gideon was making at the time. Remember she was probably still damaged from the Geoffrey Cross scandal and couldn't deal with another scandal. I dont know why she wouldnt want to lean on her husband...I think he was probably crazy about her and would have done anything to support her but I think Elizabeth thought that maybe Chris would leave her because of what would be the impending scandal with his step son...so sad. But I do not think there was any type of blackmail involved.

If Tat is pregnant I dont think its with Cary; remember Tat went back to Prague for a bit before Cary had his accident; I think when she was there she hooked up with someone and that's who the father is...

Totally agre with you Gigi and that's why I think it so romantic that Gideon is tearing down Pete's bar...Eva doesn't like to remember the girl she once was...her words...so in a small way Gideon is making it easier for her to forget.

Great to hear from you again ShazScott....Initially I hated the new narrator's voice I especially do not like when he does Eva's voice. I still love Jill's rendition of Gideon's voice and I love all the accents ...Angus and Manuel and Arnoldo... I like Mr. York's voice in the very dramatic parts but I still like Jill's the best. Maybe it is because I am so used to her. Love the elevator scene in Audible...I think its the best scene in all 4 books so far.

So true Lighthouse Anne is very scary and I agree with you that Eva is not aware of what a danger Anne is and she certainly hasn't communicated anything about her to Cary because she really doesn't know that much herself. Cary would never deliberately hurt Eva but it is very easy to see how someone as diabolical as Anne could manipulate an unsuspecting, vulnerable Cary. :(

Perhaps Christopher's instability will come to the forefront in OWY... I think Christopher 's jealousy will finally bring him to a critical point...Gideon landed the hot girl and he's happy which is something Christopher cant't tolerate coupled with Gideon showing him who's boss at Vidal Records...Even Chris Sr sided with Gideon over the video issue and he usually does't take sides...I think Christopher is going to come on to Eva and or manhandle her in some way and she's going to give him a taste of the Krav Maga hopefully this will be a warm up for Anne and Corinne too...

Yes, Gideon even mentions that fact to Ann when he goes to her office. Is she willing to lose her career and marriage to get revenge against him. I think at this point she is. She is so off track that she will risk losing everything to get back at Gideon. He will destroy her and he has the means I just hope he does it before she gets to Eva. I think Raul will put a tail on Ann in the next book so that is how Gideva will piece togerther her connection with Corinne and possibly Cary and whoever else she has drawn into her web...

Yes I think Anne is behind Corinne writing the tell all book. If your therapist tells you you will get closure by doing this then you would probably think it was a good idea... I think Eva will be the one to figure it out in the end.

Plus Gideon actually pursued Eva ; the other gals pursued him...

I dont know why people that have barely read the books bother to post their opinions on those sites. Sometimes I think did we even read the same book? I have read this series numerous times lol an embarrassing amount of times and listened to them on the way to work a million times. The characters have so many layers... The emotion is raw and real and the sex is just the icing on the cake. I think it says something that when you read a book and it sticks with you and you find yourself thinking about it on and off throughout the day...That to me is the mark of a "good" read; but the fact that you want to talk about it with others as we do here makes it an "amazing" read. . :)

True. A one night stand is just that. Those gals knew he was a playboy so that was their choice to make. Let's face it ; Eva knew this too she was just the lucky one because her and Gideon had that electric, soul deep connection the first time they met and everytime they are near each other !!!

So true. It was so apparent when Gideon spoke to Corinne for the first time in his office and he warned her to tread lightly where Eva was concerned . And also later he realized that he previously thought of Corinne as the young girl she once was not as she is now. I took that to mean that he was finally seeing for himself how manipulative and calculating she could be in her quest to get him back...No Eva should not fear Corinne; it is Anne Lucas that really has it in for her. . :(

Hi lwasinger welcome to the forum; enjoyed reading all of your opinions. I feel guilty about not liking Eva right now in this book but as soon as I read the first 3 chapter excerpt I knew this book had a different vibe. I loved EWY soooo much and I think Gideva were so connected in those few weeks; what happened in that short time span for Eva to become confused and start sniping at Gideon for lack of a better term... She always had a Latin temper but suddenly it seems to be rearing its ugly head often and Gideon the unwelcome recipient. When they were in the limo going down to the Outer Banks I think this would have been a perfect time for Eva to lose her temper and say she had enough but she didnt say a word. You are absolutely correct that Eva is very young and had a difficult childhood. Even though Gideon is only 28 himself he has always had an uber amount of responsibility with his businesses and that developed the discipline he needed to survive his abuse. He says himself that he needs money too and it gives him the security he needs to feel good about himself in at least that way. Because of her abuse Eva has always been spoiled and coddled by Monica and Stanton and her Dad because he was never able to watch her grow up and even by Cary who must think of her as his life-saver also. And now Gideon thinks of her as his angel and treats her as such so she doesnt often experience the word no or rejection from any of her inner circle. Actually even though Eva needs to chill out , I didnt blame her for wanting her space from Gideon at the end and I didnt consider this one of her usual runners. Gideon knew he fu$$ed up as soon as he told Eva he offered Mark a job. He even went as far as to say he should probably have stuck with his original plan of slow seduction in getting Eva to work with him. But he just reverted to his alpha male persona as usual. Gideon is smart enough to know that wasnt going to go over well with Eva ...I have to say ...what was he thinking???I hope they get back on track early in the next book. The opening scene may be their joint appointment with Dr. Peterson and their dinner date. I hope it is very romantic like when Eva went to dinner that first nite in EWY at their love nest apartment. We can only hope. . :)
