Hi Gigi Chris I can see, having the sex tape, would give him enormous power over Gideon. One over on his brother at long last. Chris is a snake on a good day. He is jealous of Gideon in all things, past and present. I think having that tape, he might hope Gideon would relinquish his rights to have over all control of Vidal records, in return for it (don't mess with your big bro Chris, he'll have your nuts on a platter). Chris doesn't care who he treads or hurts on to get what he wants. Magdalene found out the hard way.

I agree with that. Page 119 in Entwined. When going to Monica's, Eva has a chat with Victor on the Saturday. Eva mentions that Monica has been sticking her nose in her(Eva's) business. Victor replies "Ah. Sometimes we parents do that when we are worried about our babies." Eva says he's never don't that. Victor replies "I haven't done it yet, that doesn't mean I won't, if I'm worried enough. I just hope I could convince you to forgive me." He s still giving her the opportunity to come clean with him.

This part puzzled me too. i was actually surprised Victor went home after the cops turned up at Eva's on the Friday to tell them about Nathan's death. Seeing Eva's reaction to the news. I thought he would return quickly to give her support, thus finding out about the abuse. I got that bit right. When she spoke to him on the Saturday, before he found out, he said he was going into the office. Which office, where? I think you could be right about him meeting Graves, back in New York. Then making it look like he'd just turned up at the airport. Good call.

Three phone calls on his cell, a trip to the wine bar, and a chat at the dinner at Cipriani's. As Eva said, he's watering the weed! So love that expression! Duh! Gideon was only 10/11 when the abuse started. The shrink mainly saw his mother, he was left alone with Hugh. When Anne came on to Gideon he wouldn't of had a clue who she was to start with. When he twigged it was Gideons way of payback on Terry for lying about his abuse. As the affair progressed, perhaps Gideon somehow found out about the family connection. That's when he sent her packing back to Lucas, after she was going to leave Terry Lucas. I'm not sure yet about her reasons for bedding Gideon, she may not have known about Hugh's abuse till after the affair finished and Hugh killed himself. Gideon took revenge on Terry for falsifying examination results. I just need to know time frames between the affair and Hugh's suicide. Which came first? When did Gideon confront Hugh. The statue of limitations I think someone said was seven years, so Gideon had to be early twenties? I know it's complicated. But I know where I'm going. Sorry.

So you can see where I'm going. A very dark path where the Lucas family are concerned. I was wondering if Anne kept her maiden name in the practice. Dr Anne ?, Mrs Anne Lucas. If Anne had an affair with Gideon, while knowing about the abuse by Hugh, she is one screwball. Also I think she was one of the two women who suffered depression along with Corinne at the end of the book. Which she told Eva about. Bunny boiler or what!!

The abuse started off as handjobs. "Teaching Gideon how to master*ate correctly". Probably after the examine to identify if Gideon was abused and nothing was found, Hugh escalated the abuse up to rape. Penetration. That's why Gideon said he didn't do anal play.

Hi Gigi I felt Gideon was uncomfortable and repulsed by his mothers hug. Gripping Eva's hand conveyed this message. On the other occasion he shied away from her. Regarding Anne Lucas. I think she was the shrink who was tending to Lizzy during her pregnancy with Ireland, the doctorate was her brother, Hugh. When Gideon made the accusations, Terry Lucas examined Gideon found no evidence of penetration because the abuse was hand-jobs, as did a second opinion. Which then gave Hugh freedom to carry on the abuse, this time actually raping Gideon. After all Gideon was a disturbed child by Anne's(if she was the shrink) and Terry's reckoning. I'm sure Hugh was very convincing of this. Keeping it in the family, meant covering their backs. If word had got out about the possible abuse of a child by Hugh, Anne's career/business if Hugh worked with her would be in tatters. The law suits sky high. Who would use their services? Anne may not have known about Hugh's raping Gideon till he killed himself? This is one spiteful and vengeful lady. I did pose the question to Sylvia yesterday about Anne being the shrink? We shall see. If it turns out its a spoiler, then I'm right.
