Just a thought, if Hugh worked in practice with Anne, and Lucas or the other paediatrician hadn't lied and Gideons abuse was confirmed, a lawsuit would have ruined Anne's and Hugh's careers and family name forever. Gideons comments to Hugh, caused him to commit suicide. Anne is after revenge, anyway she can.

Eva needs to let go of Brett. She cannot move forward with him in the picture. She needs to lay her ghosts to rest. Put her past behind her and concentrate on her future as the wife of Gideon cross, but at the same time, still being able to be Eva Tramell.

I found your last paragraph very telling. I never thought of it that way. Never having that sort of experience. As you say, they were playing, teasing each other, as young lovers would do. His whole demeanour has changed. He has softened, without losing his ruthlessness. Eva is a force for good for him.

I think Eva tolerates him for her mothers sake. I wouldn't say she hates him, but he is a dominant man used to getting his own way. Eva, is like her father, she loves Gideon for the right reasons, not money, like her mother. Stanton indulges Monica, which makes her dependant on him. He loves the power over people, Eva stands up to him, which I think he admires, like her getting her own job, rather than accepting one from him. She appreciates what he has done for her mother and her, regarding her abuse.

Morning lady! We definitely need to know what's going on with these two women. Monica has something to hide. I'm going with escorting, Lizzy I'm still going mummy issues. I didn't like the comment in the hospital "your not taking my son away from me". She drove him away. I'm still working on her, and her reasons. I'll get back to you. :)

In chapter 5, Gideon relates to Eva that she is still hurting after their weeks apart. "We can't just forget the last few weeks, Eva. I cut you deep and your still bleeding" Gideon had picked up on it, that Eva still harboured a grudge, even though he had killed for her, and knowing why he pulled away from her. What had happened could not be forgotten or forgiven overnight. Healing would take time. Just love the line "Do you want to suck face or not". obviously an American term! Brilliant "Day One of my life was the day I met you" The words hit me like a blow. I swallowed hard and whispered, "okay, that's a winner. You can put it in." Loving the mixture of seriousness and humour. I'm sorry can't do just one line.
