I'm pretty sure Gedeon wouldn't even acknowledge Elizabeth for the Worst Mother's Day!

I can only imagine his motives behind his profund contempt for her. He seems to despise her so deeply, he can overlook keeping up appearances and literally spit his "polite" words to her beautiful face.

HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY!

It's Wednesday night (day 19). After witnessing the Cary's "multibody tangle", Gedeon and Eva resume their fighting over Corinne.

"I struggled to get free, but I was too wiped out. Physically. Emotionally. The tears came in a torrent and I couldn't stop them. And I hated crying in front of anyone. "Go away, please."

"I love you, Eva. Of course I do." (Bared to You - Page 326)

THIS is the first time Gedeon says the L-word, and my first thought was "Why does it sound so fake to me? Has he really got the nerve to tell her THAT MUCH just to sooth her?"

Maybe I'm too judgemtal over Gedeon, or I missed some clues (which is much more likely!!)

Then I read this passage in Entwined-Chap. 2 and broke down, literally:

“I’ll say it first: I love you.â€

He closed his eyes and quivered. Wrapping his arms around me, Gideon squeezed so tight I almost couldn’t breathe.

“I love you,†he whispered. “Too much.â€

His fervent declaration reverberated through me. I buried my face in his shoulder and cried.

“Angel.†His fist clenched in my hair.

The words are the same, but the feelings behind them couldn't be more different.

NOW they both know their relationship has achieved a higher level, and it seems they are ready and willing to push it even higher. How could you not love and stand by a man who has put so much at risk for you?

I'm counting down .... still 30 days to go (hopefully less than that!!!!).I don't know how I'll catch up with you, but I'll manage! CIAO!

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYBODY!!

My favourite moments in Chap. 21 are:

1)"Don't move, Eva." I shivered at the ice in Gedeon's voice but felt stung enough to say,

"It's not his fault he has a point." Gedeon's grip tightened painfully. "Not now."

Terry's gaze moved to my face. "You don't have to tolerate him talking to you that way. All the money in the world doesn't give anyone the right to order you around."

Infuriated and horribly embarassed I looked at Gedeon. "Crossfire."....... I shoved my chair back and threw my napkin onto my plate. "Excuse me. Both of you."

2) "You forget who submits, Eva," he said gruffily. "I've given up control for you. I've bent and adjusted for you. I'll do anything to keep you and make you happy. But I won't be tamed or topped. Don't mistake indulgence for weakness."

I knew I wouldn't be able to stay away from Chap. 1 and 2 of Entwined!!!

What can I say? I've just finished reading the chapters and I'm crying hot tears of happiness with their coming together again (and I won't say the pun is intended!).

I've never experienced this level of involvement... I'm really speechless.

Gedeon's behaviour at the Waldorf-Astoria dinner on Wednesday makes more sense to me if I think he might be already setting into motion his plans to get rid of Nathan.

Maybe I'm just groping after whatever excuses for him...

Hello Ladies from Italy!!

Here's what I liked most in Chap. 20:

1) I spend a QUARTER of every day inside you. When you set limits outside I can't help but see them as arbitrary.

2) I've always seen you, angel. From the moment you found me, I've seen nothing but you.

3) Us girls have to stick together.(HA!!!!!!)

Readind your remarks on the audiobooks had me thinking how much more fascinating it would be to listen to Gedeon, Eva and Cary's voices...... I must have them!!!

The first time I read Chap. 19 I was sooooo sad. With the rereading of it I actually shed two or three hot tears.... I really need a glorious happy ending for them!

Here are my favourite lines:

1) He buried his face in my throat and cried till dawn.

2) I was more afraid of losing him than of living with the demons inside him.

3) Cheers to us, the seriuosly f***ed up. At least we have each other.

Eva's experience can be summed up in the term "master and servant", and all she knows about it was confirmed by a girl in group therapy: "her "master" could use her body any time and in any way he wanted, for his pleasure alone" (page 257). Does this description apply to Gedeon? I don't think so. I believe Eva hasn't realized yet that there's much more to the D/S relationship than meets the eye.

First and foremost, there's the difference between "power" and "control". Eva has already experienced her "female power" over Gedeon; now she will have to put her being "controlled" by him to the test. She's obviously not at ease with the situation Gedeon has led her to imagine, because her past sexual abuses cannot but deeply affect her point of view. But she has already agreed to enter an unchartered territory with Gedeon, who is only trying at this point to find some safe marks in it.

Funny how it may seem, I've been told it's the sub who is in control in a D/S relationship. Through the "safeword" prerogative, the sub exerts a much more subtle control over the supposedly dom, for it's the sub who allows thing to be done to him/her only as long as he/she feels comfortable with them (and can "say when").

Therefore, by asking about a "safeword", Gedeon is only telling Eva he wants her to feel safe in their relationship.

But there's still a loooong way to go... for both of them.

Magdalene's stutter speaks volumes!!! She's relized how things truly are between Gedeon and Eva and she is throwing the towel at last.

2) "I love you"...."I just didn't want another minute go by without you knowing how I feel."

3) "You've changed everything for me. I couldn't stand losing you."

I think this might be Gedeon's way to say the L-word to Eva. He is non ready yet to express such a commitment to her, but his feelings and actions are giving him away!!!!

4)"One of these days," he said dryily, "I'll figure out whether my face is a curse or not."

I'm laughing out loud!!! Thank you for the new entry in my English dictionary. My vocabulary is getting better and better by the hour!!!!!

What I found quite interesting in Chap. 17 are Gedeon's hints at the dom/sub issue between them. It's too late in the night now to start discussing it, but hopefully someone is going to say something about it tomorrow.

One last thought about the dark hair thing.

I agree with Julie, who says that brunetes are tied up with mummy issues. But how? My theory is that by keeing brunettes on the absolutely-no-s*x-with list, Gedeon is saying that he doesn't trust them enough to share his bed, not even for a quickie; more importantly, he is refusing Elizabeth, Brunette Number One, as a mother because he doesn't trust her anymore.

It sounds confusing, but it's Gedeon we're talking about.... Mr "Easy is boring"!! Lol

I'm out of work right now. I'm actively looking for a job, though. The Italian job market stinks at the moment, but hopefully I'll find a new job in a few months' time.

NO,I haven't read Chap 1 of Entwined, and don't want to either! I want to sit comfortably down with my book and be completely absorbed in it untill I finish reading. Nothing is going to distract me from my reading: no phone-calls, no door-bells, no family nor friends...well, Internet maybe.

What will you be doing when the book comes out?

Ive been reading through the pages I missed yesterday and my head is spinning wildly!!! Your insights into plot and characters are simply wonderful and make my rereading of the books so much more meaningful to me.

As for the triangle Corinne-Gedeon-Eva, I think GiGi is right when she says that the relationship between Eva and Gedeon should be strong enough to stand any external destructive force or it's not worth the while. Eva must know by now that Corinne is simply one in a long line of women who want to have Gedeon for themselves. I know this can't help her much in the insecurities department, but she will have to learn to trust her man(and, thank God, she will!!). This is really the only thing Gedeon is always asking of her: "TRUST ME"...... Which obviously leads to the dom/sub issue between them.

But this is tomorrow's homework. Good night for now, lol!!

Well, Gedeon in a kilt..... what a sight!!! Even Nessie will have something to dream about.

I wonder what clan would he choose. Each clan has a motto that exemplifies the clan members' attitude towards life. I think Gedeon's motto would tell us about his greatest happiness achieved through his greatest sufferings.

I've never thought of keeping Gedeon apart from Eva! I would like to spend some time with Cary too....
