Oh I don't think his trip to New York is so unexpected after living near her for the past 4 years he simply missed his daughter and worried about her too living in a city such as New York especially since he is a cop so I totally see why he would want to visit his only child...

 

straight, but we are not privy to any former arrangement between them... it's the fact that he comes out of the blue and he's staying for such a short time that had me thinking about Victor's true motives for a trip to NY, all the more with all the troubles of avoiding his former wife his staying at Eva's is bound to cause.

Through our rereading schedule I've come to really enjoy such details as characters clothing. I think Eva's outfits are quite revealing of what's going on inside her body and mind; they give her away, despite all her rational statements about not being interested in Mr Cross....  garters and silks stockings at work, is there anyone who would buy it? I felt that Eva grew up in California and when Monica married Stanton, Monica moved to NYC?? I felt that Monica married Stanton around the time Eva was going to college? I 'm trying to find out in BTY why I felt that---LOL

 

I've been wondering about what that means, too,  Maybe Victor somehow found out what Eva has been through while living under the same roof with lousy Nathan and is only willing to make things right for his beloved daughter. His unexpected trip to NY would make more sense, doesn't it.

I believe Gedeon is making a point with the brunettes: by hanging about with them but not allowing them to his bed he is maybe using them in a sort of misplaced revenge on his mother.

Hear them? OH MY!!!!!!!

Gedeon has divided women into two categories, those he dates and those he has sex with. Mummy issues might be the case with him as he seems to consider brunettes as more socially accepted and worth having a date with because of their resemblance with his mother. On the other hand, he has a sexual relationship with a blonde, a brunette, a red-head... so his choices are not colour-related. I believe that's why he's at a loss when Eva asks him why her, because his only concern is which cathegory you may fall into.

The problem with Gedeon is that Eva wants to belong to both cathegories, and has to make concessions to that!

HELLO EVERYBODY!! I reread Chap. 1 of Bared last night and I loved it more than the first time because I noticed a few foretelling hints of what lies ahead for Eva. When she goes out her block of flats she says that 'the smells and sounds ... embraced me and invited me to explore', which is just what a lover would ask of her! Later on, when she's enjoying NY life in an early June afternoon, she says she's trying not to be '... wide– eyed and distracted...', but that 'There was so much to see and experience', an apt suggestion of her forthcoming reaction to Gedeon, isn't it? My favourite ones are 'NY was a brand–new love affair for me. I was starry–eyed and it showed.' because I was just like that the first time I went to London. If anything new should come to my mind, I'll let you know. CIAO!!

A 4th, possibly 5th, book? I'm jumping to the ceiling like Tigger!!!Thanks to these pages, we'll be able to while away the long dreadful time before the books are released. But we are all accustomed to DELAYED GRATIFICATION by now, aren't we?

HELLO! Here are some guesses from me, too. G's killing could only make E's love for him stronger. She's an abused child who sees her lousy reaper disappear from her world. G has shown E that he knows what she's been through and that he's willing to go to such lengths to have her safe and happy not even her parents did. CIAO!!!

I think Gedeon and Eva will honeymoon in one of Gedeon's luscious resorts, whose wherabouts will be totally inconsequential to them!!!! Hello there from Italy!!! I'm a newbie, and I hope you'll excuse my clumsiness whith this medium (and my English as well).

I think the only words Gedeon should say to Eva are 'TRUST ME'... I'm sure they would trigger worlds in two abused children. Let me know what do you think about it!

I just needed something not to think about how long I have to wait before EWY is released in Italy... I came across PP and it has provided such a wonderful relief!!! I hope I'll find some more titles, because there's still a long way to go. The book is indeed up to any expectations!!! Thank you Sylvia, again.

If I were a TV or Movie character I'd be.... Angelina Jolie in 'Beyond Borders' because she finds a deeper meaning in her life with her humanitarian job... or just because of Clive Owen.

This is tough because there's more than one... I'd say Gollum in 'The Lord of Rings', Profesor Snape in the Harry Potter saga, .and the black witch in Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Trapped where? A lift, an unknown island, the broomshed? Right now: Clive Owen, Robert Pattinson and Gedeon Cross.

This is easy for me to say.. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

I really loved English, which was Foreign Languages to me, and I hated Chemistry.

HELLO FROM iTALY!!!

I have read the Crossfire books and would just like to thank Sylvia for having conjured up Gedeon, Eva and Cary out of thin air. I loved how their complex relationships were woven into such a rich fabric... it was not the amazing sex scenes only that kept me going: I wept over them, I laughed with them and thrived in their hopes for happiness. I haven't been this reading addicted for quite a long time, and I'm looking forward to having the third instalment on my nighstand.
