  1. Hello everybody!!!

Here are my favourite lines in Chap. 13:

    1) (Eva) "I don't think you know how your desire makes me feel."..."It makes me feel beautiful. It makes me feel strong and alive."

    2) (Gedeon) "I need to know that losing control doesn't mean I've lost you."

    3) (Gedeon) "You are so brave, Eva. So strong and honest. You're a miracle. My miracle."

  2. Hello Julie!

Monica might have noticed something was wrong with Eva, but she completely misinterpreted her (Eva's) unconscious signals. I'd say Monica simply thought that Nathan and Eva had had some big argument between them, or that Eva was in her teens.

How could she possibly think of one of her children sexually abusing the other? Could you? You are right, though: in the long run she should have guessed Eva's issues with Nathan weren't only due to their age or any existing conflict between stepbrothers, and should have looked into what the matter was with them. Didn't I say I overlooked something?

    Good night, sweet dreams!!!

  3. OK, I'm a little scared and don't know if I'll post this...

I'm sure this is going to cause a commotion through this forum because I know how you ladies feel about Monica, and I used to agree with you.

Now that I've got the whole picture of Monica's household at the time the abuses occurred, I can't help having mixed feelings about her. Why do I have a naggin sensation I'm being unfair to her? I know, she could have done one million things, all of which would have had more sense, but is she to blame for her being kept unaware of what was going on under her own roof? I've been wondering whether it would have made any difference, if she had pressed questions on her scared-to-death teen daugher, who wouldn't have told her anything anyway. Once Monica did find out, though, she did all she could to protect little Eva from the ogre, and now she is going to whatever lengths she can to keep Eva safe, because lousy Nathan is still at large. Did I overlook anything?

I believe Monica may be said to be a faulty mother in so many ways, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts about her being a bad mother. I do hope Monica gets the chance to state her point of view on the whole matter. LOL!!!!

  4. GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!!!

Here are my favourite lines in Chap. 12:

    1) 'Keep looking at me like that,'.....'See what happens.'

    2) 'You have to trust me. I'm trusting you. I've had to or we wouldn't be here now.'

    3) I wished he had something near my mouth that I could bite.

    4) ('....romance...' ) 'I don't think about it that way. I just try to guess what might please you, and then I give it a shot and hope for the best.'

    5) '(Nathan) is not worth the effort. Not worth wour time.'   'YOU are. You are worth it.'

  5. Ciao Gabri,

Your assessment is correct.  It is funny that it seems like Gideon is a little boy trapped in a man's body.  Eva has taken over the role of the mother, and the lover figure.  I am surprised that Eva doesn't suffer from whiplash. Her head keeps turning every other second. :)

Something else came to mind, do you think that Gideon and Eva are putting unfair expectations on one another?  They each have so much baggage between them and are expecting the other to fulfill that it is almost unrealistic.  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

    Hi GiGi

we know at least Eva is striving not to. Earlier on, at the end of Chap. 8. she says she has to 'watch out for that. The moment I became grateful he is spending time with me would be the beginning of the end. Neither of us would respect me if that happened.' As for Gedeon having any expectations... I think he is now too busy trying to keep himself together to realize he's got any.... for the time being.

  6. I still don't understand what happened that night. At one moment he is creating a photo op giving her a passionate kiss for the paparazzi then later in the evening when he found her in the restaurant after she ran he said they had to leave because he couldn't be seen out. That's when they went to his place.. what was he afraid

    of?

    Hello rcmcap!!!

I think Gedeon is afraid of the emotional breakdown Eva's runner caused. He's at a loss indeed, and feels the need to be in a safer environment to deal with this brand new feeling.

  7. OK, one last note before my brain blows off.

The fact that Gedeon is taking Eva to his apartment, where his mother has been the only woman allowed so far, says something about how much he is into Eva right now (pun absolutely intended). Gedeon is making Eva realize she means a lot to him through a connection to the most important woman in his life, and through his plea to be allowed to 'hang on to (her)for a while', just like a small child would his own mummy to calm down after a sudden fright. I know that 'mum issues' have already come up earlier on, so there's no need to discuss them here, but there's no denying Gedeon is pushing all of Eva's right buttons!

They don't have s** that night (can you imagine?), but are able to enjoy one another 'without actively f******', which is a huge step further in their relationship. Things seem to be going well between them, but then Gedeon's nightmare occurs and we are plunged into drama again.

I'm really looking forward to reading what is going to happen to our heroes.... too bad I'll have to wait till 14th June!!!!!! LOL

  8. Gedeon's text to Eva (I f***** up again. Don't break with me. Talk to me. Pls.)had me smiling a little. It shows how feminine power really works!!! Not only must Gedeon be suffering all the torments of because he thinks Eva has just dumped him, but Eva's behaviour has led him to believe he is also guilty and needs apologizing for something he didn't do. I belive Gedeon took Eva to the f*** pad out of habit, for he didn't want Eva to steam off, and simply didn't take all the unwanted implications of such a move into account.

  9. HI JULY!

I believe Eva will be much too busy to live her life with Gedeon to bother about standing in Cary's way. Although she is bound to be less of a constant, reassuring presence in Cary's life, I like to think she will always have a special place for Cary in her heart (but, please, don't tell Gedeon!!!!).

I think Monica and Stanton won't stop supporting Cary's career, for he's got such a strong bond with Eva that it would seem cruel not to back him up in his working life; moreover, he might even provide them with useful pieces of information about what's going on in their daughter's life..... they know too well that she can keep secrets.

What Eva is most concerned about so far is Cary's refusal of emotional commitment.... but as her relationship with Gedeon sets an example for Cary to look up to, let's hope he stops 'experimenting' and finds the courage to be happy in a functional relationship!

  10. Oh my, I left Chap. 8 behind!!!

Here is what I liked most:

    1) 'You laid out your rules and I adjusted to accomodate them, but you won't make even a tiny adjustement for me. You have to meet me halfway.' Hia face as hard with frustation. 'At least give me a d***ed inch.'

    2) 'Do you understan how much work and time a relationship with you is going to take?'..........  'But you are worth it, and I want you bad enough. So I guess I don't stand a chance, do I?'

    3) Easy's boring.

    4) 'Keep thinking these thoughts,' he said roughly, 'and you'll be late again.'

  11.  Ciao Gabri,

I think that on some level, Cary may be feeling a little bit threatened by Gideon's presence.  Up until then, Cary always had Eva to himself.  He and Eva were best friends and I am sure that on some level Cary is aware of how much Eva and her family have been helping him financially and emotionally.

I think that Cary would have seen that Gideon (even for all his trouble and emotional turmoil) must have been very different from all the other men that Eva ever dated.  In some ways I think that maybe Cary may have started to worry about his financial future and his well-being.

I am sure that Cary wants his friend to be happy but I think that Cary also worries about what will happen to him if Eva and Gideon get married.  Thus far, Cary's career hasn't taken off and he hasn't been able to successfully maintain a relationship either.  Eva and her family have been Cary's sole supporters.  Surely those things are not lost on Cary.   What do you think?  What does everyone think?

    HI GiGi,

I think Cary is only going to have to come to terms with his own possessivesness. It's not that easy to renounce your best friend and face the fact that you'll have to reshape your world accordingly.

  12. GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!

I wasn't able to go on the Internet last night, what with the thunderstorm and the black-out we were in, but I'll try my best to catch up with you.

Here are my favourite lines in Chap. 9:

    1) 'I've died and gone to heaven,' I said, staring unabashedly.

    2) Everywhere he touched me left trails of fire behind.

    3) It felt so good I could've wept

    4) 'You'll kill me,' he muttered with his lips  at my jaw.

    CIAO!!!

  13. It's not easy, based on seeing one photo of a person, to immediately recognize him or her in person. Much depends upon the quality (or lack of) the picture, and it also depends upon how much of a close-up (or not) the picture is. If Eva later saw a close face shot of Anne, she might connect the dots and say, "Hey, she approached me that night and talked to me." Or maybe not even that, given how much of a miserable daze Eva had been in at the time and how many people had been approaching her. And the picture we know Eva did see was a couple shot of Anne and Terry Lucas at some function -- pictures like that tend not to be close-ups, because a lot of those pictures are taken in a way to show the people's outfits, not just faces.

All the more so because Eva must be in a whirlwind of new faces she has to get accustomed to, what with her new job and her new life-style!
