The line: "Eva," he breathed, clutching me tightly to him. "I've never....Christ you feel so good. I'm so glad your here." I'm thinking he's never had unprotected sex before this. I always thought the comment of him trusting her was odd. I thought shouldn't she be the one trusting him. Then when I retread that passage, it clicked. He so trusts her that she is not only the first girl he's had to his home, but she's the first one he's been with not using protection.

In chapter 10, Eva gives Gideon a picture frame of a picture of herself. When would she have had time to get it? The last time she was alone, was before she had lunch with him. Also, what does 3:00 am have to do with graduation? I can see her having a frame on hand as well as a picture of herself, but a frame that depicts such a specific time. Out of both books, this was the only thing I had a hard time believing. Is it just me? Other than that, I loved this chapter. I thought at this point things were really starting to look up for the two of them.

Hi Gigi, Mark definitely stepped over the line. My only thought was that he possibly knew about Gideon's history with women and he knew that Eva was new to town and he may have thought he was protecting her. It will be interesting to see what the dynamics are in the future between Eva and Mark. She will have most certainly been put through the ringer when EWY starts.

Hi Nathalia. I know that each snapshot coincides with a chapter, but the snippets don't. I was wondering if the snippets all come from the first chapter or from throughout the book. I guess we will have to wait till next Tuesday.

Could it be possible that almost all of the snippets Sylvia has released are from chapter 1. I hope not. Hopefully they are from different places in the entire book. We'll see.

My favorite quote of chapter 8 is "The moment I became grateful he was spending time with me would be the beginning of the end. Neither of us would respect me if that happened." I feel this comment is so telling as to Eva's state of mind and how she will react in the future. As we know, Eva feels Gideon leaves her when she believes he saw pictures of her. Eva doesn't believe that Gideon would want to be with her no matter what. She doesn't feel he could possibly feel about her the way she feels about him.

LOL. you are probably soooo right. We are all speculating as to how the story will play out and Sylvia is probably laughing at all of us.

I believe that people use the word brunette to describe anyone with dark hair that is not blond or red. I've often heard of people described as having brunette hair and they have black hair.

I think Monica loves Eva, but they definitely do not have a traditional mother daughter relationship. She is always concerned for Eva and worried about her, but does not know how to handle situations properly.
