Hi All, I'm back from my beach trip and self-imposed exile from Gideon and Eva. I have to say it wasn't as difficult as I had feared. My sister and I are the grandmothers to 6 toddlers under the age of 4 (2 sets of twins) and with all of them running around, going back and forth to the beach, and their parents going through innumerable bottles of wine and beer, there weren't the old lazy days of lounging by the sea with beach novels! (It's very difficult to read when one keeps getting clutched by dripping toddlers and trying to keep sun screening their little sandy bodies.) My books would have been wet, oily, and sandy, too! So I am now home and starting the Crossfire series at the beginning. I'm really enjoying reading straight through instead of jumping around back and forth - especially after not having them for a while. It must be great for people who are just discovering the books to be able to read all three at once. But then they'll have to join the ranks of readers desperate for even a little snippet! Nancy

Hello Ladies- I'm leaving for the beach tomorrow for a week and I've made a momentous decision! . I'm going to leave my Crossfire books behind. I don't think I've gone more than a couple of days without at least a taste, since I discovered them in the spring. So it will be cold turkey. There is wifi where I'm staying so I will have to subsist on board comments and Sheen's luscious photos. I may have to go back into the Chapter a Day favorite quotes section if I get desperate for a fix. Wish me luck. Nancy

Sheens-the picture you posted for Ireland is perfect I think. She looks young and sweet. Most of the suggested pics I've seen are to old and assured looking.

I found the Fifty Shades of Grey and More site. It was better than some, though a little overwrought! Glad to see Nathan get his comeuppance, but his character didn't ring true. The GidEva sex scene was better, but a little Over the top? Just my opinion, though. Thanks for the suggestion, Rogue.

Can't believe people like Terrence Lucas twice as much as Brett! Not to mention Slimey Sam.

All you have to do is google sylvia day fan fiction and you will get a selection. There may be other ways, but I tried some there and didn't care for any. Plus all the bad spelling and grammar drove me crazy !

I liked it too and wouldn't have minded a sequel, but I didn't much care for the woman that the sequel was to be based on. If you read it and like it, please share. Thanks.

I try to explain the unrealistic schedule to myself by saying that he has already formed and organized Crossfire Industries so well, with smart people in top positions throughout, that if he wishes he can act in more of a supervisory role except for really major problems, strategies, and acquisitions. And of course times when he needs to act as the face and guiding hand of CI as he did with that Japanese conference call. I also don't want or expect these books to be totally realistic, but I like them to make sense. Hope this helps you believe! :)

I'd help you but I missed the directions.

I always love looking at the Henry-Gideon pictures, but one thing always bothers me. I almost never envision him smiling as he does in the majority of the photographs. In my mental images he is always "dark and dangerous" with the piercing blue eyes, or else with a face on fire with passion and (oh my!) Love how SD describes his public persona: "his mask slipped smoothly into place. His irises chilled to an icy blue and his sensual mouth lost any hint of curve." That's why Eva is always so happy when he lets himself relax, smile, and even laugh with her. Henry of course has to please the public while Gideon can just tell everyone to back off.

A friend gave me Claim Me and Release Me by J. Kenner. They follow a Gideva type couple. They are 2/3 of The Stark Trilogy - last book due out July 30. They were better than most versions of difficult hot billionaire and wounded heroine I have tried - IMO about equal in quality to On Dublin Street which I liked. Don't mean to sound so lukewarm - it's just nothing compares to Crossfire.

They are two different characters. Lacey first had a blind date with Michael and passed him off to Megumi. Martin is Eva's sort of step cousin. He and Lacey were introduced by eva at the club Primal and have started seeing each other. "Dabbling" as Martin described it. Lacey links the two men.

Sarah, When I first joined the forum in May, I started a thread called Books as Good as the Crossfire Series. There were only a few replies, so the thread is on the second page of the section listing the crossfire threads. You might check for what is listed. I wish I had thought to add to it when people gave a suggestion. Maybe we can start it up again. Sounds like we can definitely add Afterburn and Aftershock. In the future.

Or maybe we could just give her a lot of cranberry juice and vodka, so she gets very chatty. No one can get me to shut up when I've had more than a couple!

I wish my "big bum" and Eva's were the same size! :)
