Yes, I love how Eva is so self aware and doesn't try to gloss over her faults, feelings, or mistakes. That doesn't always mean she, corrects herself, however. I'd say she needs to go to the gym and run about 50 miles instead of going to California. That will improve both her love life and allow her to eat a few more tacos and then some zabaglione at Arnoldo's!

You know re-reading this chapter, one of the things that struck me was how physically attracted Eva still is to Brett. It's really not just a question of making Gideon jealous. She's really is drawn to Brett, even if it's mostly physically. Just read her description of him on the last couple pf pages of chapter 16 when she's coming out of the apt to meet him. And there are other similar descriptions by her. One of the things I find most appealing about Eva is how she makes no bones about her appetites - for food, looking at hot guys, and of course s*x with a capital S. It's very rare, in my reading, to find a heroine willing to admit to those things, and it really makes me appreciate Sylvia as an author. It's interesting to contrast Eva and Gideon that way - Eva is the only one who has her effect on him - I could never imagine him after Corinne or other women in any of the ways he does with Eva. And it's often so angsty (is that a word?) for him. I love the way Eva just enjoys her pleasures so thoroughly. It's a good thing for Eva that Gideon doesn't seem to feel the same sort of urges. She'd be tearing up New York. I don't mean to imply that Eva loves Gideon any the less because of the above. Of course there's a whole lot more to her feelings for him than the physical side. It's lovely too that the rapes and torture that she endured as a child didn't destroy that side of her. She fought back and keeps fighting. Sad that gideon had to do all his fighting back on his own. That said, Eva needs to say get thee behind me satan, and cut Brett off sharpish!

I really agree with this, Rogue. Of course Eva knows Gideon's the one, but she's still being bounced around with a lot of heavy and complex emotions and events, and naturally some of her actions and reactions are problematic. I think her actions with Brett are seesawing because she is experiencing a volatile mix of regret, attraction, embarrassment, excitement, and confusion. And that's just on the Brett seesaw! The ride with Gideon is still wilder and mixed with passion, jealousy, fear, love, doubt, and a host of other feelings. It's easy on the outside to see and say what Eva should be doing, but quite different while you're going through it all. Especially at only age 24 and coming off her particular life experiences.

Favorite quote in chapter 15. How Gideon changes the subject : "I was going to reply, but he kissed me quiet and f*cked me senseless."

I wasn't saying Sam was Brett's fault - just looking for a catchy name.

That's a really good question about Nathan's horde. I think his father would have definitely saved him the bracelet, because that was a memento Nathan saved from his mother. Nathan's father sounds like he became totally estranged from him later on, not necessarily right away. Perhaps Nathan packed up his stuff at home before he was confined in whatever juvenile facility he ended up in and his father just put it away with all his other stuff without looking at it. Were we ever told exactly where he was sent? I can't remember.

Actually I'm still carrying a bit of a torch for Brett. I'd like to see him beat the sh*t out of Sam and apologize to Eva. Maybe even shake hands with Gideon and accept defeat. I'd like there to be a peaceful, if regretful resolution to the struggle over Eva. Just hoping...

I vote for her using them on Sam !

Sharon, Re #6 in Book 4 They are going to have to get more than just the sex tape. It sounds like the Eva Brett tape was a compilation of footage from the on-going filming that videographer did. Who knows what other stuff he has but didn't use because he was doing a recreation of the Golden video. I realize Gideon would cover this other stuff in some kind of "any and all" contract but who knows who this guy may have shared with and boasted to. Or how many copies are around. That guy Sam may not even be able to control what happens to it, even though its going to make him a boatload of money. It does worry me, though I'm sure Sylvia wouldn't let it get out. Not a good part of a HEA. I hate the whole video thing and the band's Golden video. Once something gets out there it NEVER goes away.

Sharon, Great job! Love the idea of Deanna going after Dr. D and her crew. Also think you're onto a safe bet that there will be lots of sex occurring, also.

Well, ménage a trois seems to work out for some people. I don't mean just a three way hook-up which people seem to use the word ménage for these day. I mean a long term three person partnership. Different strokes... Probably wouldn't work for Gideon Eva and Brett, though. :) :)

Trey puts up with Tat but that doesn't mean he's happy about it or in my opinion ever would be. Trey deserves someone he can be happy with. He's a sweet guy. Even if Tat gets the boot - which I think and hope she will - there'll be another Tat. Cary himself said loosely quoted"trey wants me to be gay and I'm not. Loving women is half of who I am ". Cary is bisexual. I don't know much about that, but I don't suppose you change that anymore than other sexual orientations. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm way older than most of you guys so actors I think of are older too. I keep thinking there should be a younger version of Daniel Day Lewis out there somewhere. He would have been perfect about, oh, 25 years ago.

Some little theories I have - just some things I would really like to happen - even if there's no evidence or foreshadowing. I want Angus to have been the person who somehow arranged the bracelet - he's the one who loves Gideon. I know there are reasons against it but ... I want Shawna 's boyfriend to decide to stay in Italy with an Italian girl he's met. Then Arnoldo (who did ask about Shawna the night Eva and Brett had dinner ) will fall in love with Shawna. Maybe Ireland with Martin? He seems like a good guy and her current boyfriend shouldn't be acquiescing to his parents. Cary will break with both Tat and Trey - neither is right for him.

Here's a question I keep wondering about. Why does Cary never have any money? I know someone says male models don't make nearly what female models make ( now there's a nice switch!) but if he's appearing in giant ads in Times Square and sides of busses, he must be pulling in a fair amount - even with time off after the beating. And he may not even be paying any rent. I expect he gets a deal on his clothes,too.

There are a lot of possible scenarios about Mark being called to the office. Like you said Mark could have lost that account and got fired so Gideon can hire him. Another possibility is mark's bosses could want to discuss what Gideon had told them about him and Eva being engaged. They would certainly want to do everything possible to keep Gideon happy in hopes of more of the Crossfire business moving their way. Maybe they want to talk to Mark about them pushing Eva up the ladder a bit, or even transferring her to one of them. She's a pretty valuable commodity to them now given what they now know about her status. Or maybe Gideon will just buy the company a la Christian Grey!

Just reading the Sunday Washington Post and see that EWY is #1 on the best seller list. Yeah! Haven't gotten to the NYT yet.

I may have forgotten something that was said, but I had the impression that Gideon was going to give Deanna an exclusive on pictures of their public society wedding, not the beach one. I would hate for him to have had to give up something as sweet and private as their real wedding pictures to a tabloid hound.
