  1. I think Gideon knows that he has more crap to lay on Eva and just needed that marriage to insure her being with him.  He asked her what she needed to know before they got married.  She asked a few questions but I think there are tons more that will come up.  G knows she is gonna have a lot more to deal with.  I think Deanna is just the tip of the iceberg.

I love the ring idea.  I think Lizzie made up her mind that G was gonna ask Corinne and let him have the ring.  I think she probably almost dropped dead when she saw it on E.  That makes me happy.

Dr. Terry and his nutso wife Anne are gonna cause a lot of grief for G and E.  They are in this together to make the Crosses miserable.  I don't for one minute think that the Lucas marriage is a happy one.  I think both partners blame G for that.

Still not sure where Hugh comes in on this.  I feel there is a connection.  Also wonder---Why is Will a character in this book?  He seems to have no place here.  Could he be Hugh's son or family member?  As of now, he is a throwaway character and Sylvia does not do that.

  2. Well, finished reading the 3 books for the 4th time.  By the end of EWY I was wondering what in the world Gideon is thinking.  We always seem to know what Eva is thinking, so I am hoping Sylvia is gonna give us more insight into G's brain.  I am convinced Anne is pivotal in a lot of ways and Chris Jr. is a major headache for Gideon.

I am trying to be positive about Captivated.  It cannot be just angst and more angst.  That would be boring. I really think that the back cover is just a teaser and not the whole book.  It just can't be or we will all be so upset.  It wouldn't make sense at all.

So I am really concerned with Deanna.  She really does give me the creeps.

  3. Oops. I forgot Hugh died. Shame on me. Maybe there has been so much angst that I can't keep it all straight.

Eva has to be there for Gideon. He killed for her. He has made major changes in his life for her. I don't see her not being there for him. The only one thing he could do that would be a game changer is if he cheated and I absolutely cannot see that happening. It would make the other 3 books senseless. I still think the back cover is a little exaggerated. Please.

  4. Hi Gigi--

I understand what you are saying. Monica is very manipulative. She feigns weakness. She uses her sexuality. She is beyond self absorbed. But I don't think she is a bad person. Not like Lizzie. She BELIEVED HER CHILD. She left immediately and took appropriate steps to deal with Nathan once she knew. Wealthy people don't have tthe contact with their kids as normal people do. They have nannies, servants, etc. who have more steady contact. The rich are different as the saying goes.

And as a teacher of long standing, I know kids don't tell their parents a lot of things. I have an extremely close relationship with my daughter and always have. After she went to college, we found a diary under her mattress where she poured her guts out about middle school. OMG I cried my eyes out. She was going through with bullying and I had no idea. I confronted her. She said she wanted to keep me out of it for fear if I knew I would be running to the school and it would get worse. Believe me, I would have insured it not get worse but she felt otherwise out of fear. That was a much less difficult issue than rape. Nathan was an extreme bully. Parents really hope they know all. They don't.

  5. I have been thinking on the quote since yesterday. One thing keeps hitting me. I have read the back covers of a lot of books over the years. They are always provocative and often exaggerate to get people excited to buy the book. So, I am hoping that the angst we are all feeling is a little hyped. Geez, how much crap can one couple take?

As for Gideon's past---I am thinking Hugh shows up somehow. I think we will learn more about Chris Jr. and his role. Lucas will be more revealed. We will find out more about Angus and that past. Maybe finally find out just why Lizzie wouldn't believe her son. Those kinds of things. Gideon's reaction to all this stuff could be what they clip is about. I refuse to believe that G and E are anything but solid. Eva said she is no longer running. I hope that is true. In the first 3 books Gideon was holding them together. If these last 2 are his story, then I think it will be Eva's turn to keep them working.

Since Sylvia started posting lines on fb, I have been rereading. Up to EWY. Eva was difficult in the first books so I guess it is Gideon's turn. Eva is going to make Gideon face things he may not want to. He will get . It will be hard. It I think in the end they will be really together and happy.

Just my take. I cannot stand when they are not solid. (I think I am too invested in fictional characters. Lol)

  6. I really don't see Gideon as a Dom based on the very little I know on the subject. He does not get off on pain. He likes control. He is a very powerful man. Eva could not be with a Dom because of her past. A smack on the butt the way he did it is nothing. And the swing? Anyone here remember Sex and the City? Samantha, who is no way submissive, had a scene with a sex swing. It was hot. First time I ever saw one. I think there is a huge difference between BDSM relationships and being with a strong man who knows what he is doing in bed and pushes limits. Just my opinion.

  7. I really don't think Monica is stupid enough to get pregnant. She never did again after Eva. And I don't know how Stanton would find out she slept with Victor. I agree that if books 4&5 are about G, then I don't think Sylvia will waste too much time on yet another drama. There are just too many to tie up.

  8. Monica is not abusive. She is just so self absorbed. Smothering makes her feel less guilty. If she had been smothering when Eva was little she would have figured something out when Eva really needed the protection. I don't dislike her like I do Lizzie. She found out about the abuse, she left with no excuses. Finally she put her child first--and quickly. People who are so into their own needs don't see what is going on right under their noses unless it directly affects them. Monica could have done what Lizzie did. She didn't and I respect her for that. I think she does the best she can do given her basic nature. She sees a shrink. She tries. But given the fact Stanton babies her, she remains a child herself.

As for Victor--- I don't doubt for a minute she still loves him. This was not trying to relive a past. They still love each other. The shame is that for some reason which we don't quite know yet, Monica has to have money. Lots of it. At least she knows that about herself. Sadly, both she and Victor suffer because of it. I don't feel sorry for her. I do feel sorry for Victor. I like him a lot.

As for the candies--- we are leaving Florence for Venice today. Do they have them there?

  9. Am in Italy and have time to check in since it rained all day here in Florence and my husband and I are so tired.

I hope Monica is not pregnant. She really is just too into herself and Victor is too nice to have to deal with her crap again.

I don't think Stanton is gay. Monica thrives on men. Straight men.

Just retread BTY and fell in love with Gideon all over again. Sylvia's quotes the other day on fb made me need a fix. Great lines.

  10. KB--I LOVED the Gabriel series.  There are 2 so far and the third in Dec.  I am in the middle of the KGI series.  They are totally and completely different series.  The KGI series is like a mystery series with love and romance mixed in.  The male characters are kind of like mercenaries but for good.  Gabriel is a professor of Dante at the University of Toronto.  The books mix in art, music, and literature.  Very romantic.  I remember Gigi wanted books that followed one couple.  Gabriel series does that where the KGI books follow a lot of couples.  Hope that helps.

  11. Ss--I agree.  For G to be really happy in his life, Lizzy needs to get over herself and be a mom to him.  Listen and believe.  Heal him.  That's what a mom should do.  Period.

2 months is what is correct today but if Gideon wants it earlier, it will be earlier and people will do what they need to do to be at this wedding.  G is a big dam n deal.  His wedding is a big dam n deal.

    I just want a book.

  12. I don't think Eva wants Elizabeth involved in planning her wedding.  To me, until and unless that woman makes things right with Gideon, Eva will be very cool.  I don't blame her.  What right does Lizzy have to be involved in the most important night in Gideon's life when she cannot acknowledge her role in his problems?  Sorry, she's lucky to be invited.

Let Monica have her fun.  I really don't think Eva cares.  Monica is not a bad person.  We don't know much about her but I kind of feel she didn't have it as good as it looks.  I hope she enjoys this wedding stuff.  She may be over protective and hovering but I get it.  I hope Sylvia lets us know more about Monica.  There is a huge story there.

  13. Some people are petty.  Sins of the father crap.  Younger people are not so bad this way, but folks of a certain age can be.  I agree it doesn't make any sense.  I pride myself on not being judgmental.  But some people are.  I have 3 cousins who are sisters and were always close.  For no other reason than politics, 2 of the 3 won't talk to the third.  Stupid to me.

  14. I don't think Eva cares too much about the wedding.  I think she will hand most of the details over to her mom.  Eva is career oriented.  I think her mind will be there and in getting the penthouse ready for her and Gideon and Cary.  Gideon will want it all done and fast.  There is just so much a person can do.  Monica loves party stuff.  I think Eva will just say---do it.  Gideon will give Monica a very close timeline.  It will get done.  And fast.

Why am I getting the bad feeling that Sylvia's publisher is holding off on CBY?  She is still promoting EWY all over the world.  Her publisher is rereleasing older books.  Capitalizing on Sylvia's success with Crossfire.  I hope I am wrong.

  15. Shannon-I think you will enjoy the Gabriel books. The third one comes out in Dec.and I can't wait! When he speaks Italian to her, I get all mushy.

Gotta agree with this.  I adore these books and am waiting for the third.  Gabriel is something else.  I just reread the 2 because my husband and I are going to Italy next week.

Sounds like the Glass Tower books are similar to the KGI books.  Gotta try them also.

    Nothing beats Crossfire, though.
