There were some tweets between Sylvia and fans over the Christmas period about this - the books are still optioned by the second company.  TV series would be best.  Passionflix are good but I'm not sure the Crossfire storyline is best filmed the way they do (not a criticism, I've enjoyed the films they have done).  Crossfire is a little more fast paced than some of the stories Passionflix have done, with the background stories of both lead characters the filming needs to be sympathetic to that as well as to the sexy side of the story.  A film would have been great but with the time of a film so much of the story would have to be cut that it wouldn't work.

Agreed. I was just curious. Would love to have something to be excited about when it comes to Crossfire

  2. Hello everyone! I just finished my annual new year re-read and remembered this site. I wish it was active but I know there’s not much else to say. Every time I re-read the series though I always want someone to talk too.

Reading the last two books, especially the fourth (since it’s our first glimpse into Gideon’s mind) is such a treat. It makes me wish SD would pull an EL James an re-write the first book from Gideon’s POV. It would be amazing to read his thoughts during those crucial first few weeks.

    Miss discussing GidEva!

  3. Well guys, it feels great be back on the site. Wish I came here with a better response than thinking OWY was a little overrated.

I wasn't able to read it the night it came out because I was at work so I managed to avoid FB, twitter, this site, everything. I do have a close friend who loves Crossfire like I do who was able to read it on 4/5. She actually told me to not read it. I couldn't believe it. She said it would change some of my perception of GidEva's relationship and Gideon himself so it wasn't worth it. I didn't take her advice and she was somewhat right.

Some things were great : Lucky, Clancy, Gideon saying "I love you" more, the possibility of Christopher Jr and Gideons relationship, I LOVED Chris Sr.

    Everything else I couldn't believe.

First of all, what the was with Gideon and that Cinco de Mayo photo?? I know Sylvia must've been trying to make some point about trust but it could've been done that actually fit into Gideon's persona.  The whole party thing made no sense. Also Gideon's reaction at the Hamptons was a little over-dramatic and bratty.

I didn't like when Gideon admitted to trying to sleep with other people after he saw Eva.

Deanna needs to GO, not a job. I mean, come on.

Ireland's boyfriend cheats? That's what that was all about?

Then we have the Elizabeth story. Such a build up for a few pages of an argument and then nothing.

The Monica story-line was rushed and not making much sense.  Everything from how she died, her backstory, and Eva's reaction were just weird.  I am a RN on a critical floor. I see denial and disbelief EVERYDAY but how she just picked up and moved on after 3 weeks was ridiculous.

OWY felt rushed and incomplete. I feel disappointed.

I still love Sylvia Day. She is an amazing author who loves her fans and I still love GidEva. I'm just going to pretend that Eva gave Lucky to Gideon at their second wedding as a gift and everyone was there (including Monica) and that they went on a magical honeymoon and lived happy ever after.

  4. Christian seemed to not really care about Ana other than sexually and he always puts himself first. I love how Gideon really loves Eva inside and out and has her on his mind with his decisions. I also hate that Ana was always letting Christian railroad her. She never spoke up for herself.

  5. In RIY towards the end of the book  (Ch 17) when Eva confronts Gideons mother at that private club with the big band. Elizabeth says "I'm Christopher's mother, too, and he was there. He swears nothing happened. Who was I supposed to believe with no proof."

That means Christopher Jr knows what Gideon says happened and either lied to parents, really didn't know, or was scared to say anything.

The ring she was married with is the wedding ring his father gave his mother so I read it as being her wedding ring rather than an engagement ring, although the description is that of an engagement ring.  In the UK it's traditional to have the engagement ring, wedding ring and later an eternity ring but wondered if the US had a different tradition?

"I loved the timeless sophistication of it, but more so because it was the ring his father had married his mother with."

Edit:  In Captivated By You in the scene where she tells Christopher about the abuse Eva (in her thoughts) does call it an engagement ring.

In the US we have an engagement ring then a wedding band that you receive on your wedding day. Eva is wearing an engagement ring as kind of both right now.

  7. Maybe Chris was so wrapped in work that he may have never noticed the sessions stopped. Elizabeth probably didn't tell Chris because she was scared of furthering messing up the "perfect life" she portrayed or maybe she thought it could be swept under the rug. I hope OWY answers some of this. Gideon needs a sit down with his mother.

  8. Not really related to One With You expectations, but I would be interested to read Gideon's POV of the time he headed to California re the sex tape and how he felt seeing that it really was Eva on the tape.  Just sense that we would get more of the depth of his feelings for her over that particular problem encountered.

I always wanted to be inside Gideons mind when he came to the conclusion to kill Nathan.

  9. I was just thinking of different things I want to see happen in One With You.

    1) Gideon and Eva sleeping in the same bed (safely).

    2) Gideon having the conversation with his mother about his past abuse and her admitting her failures.

    3) Cary becoming more independent of Eva. Even though Gideon's apartment has an attached apt so they aren't exactly living together, I think GidEva should move in together starting fresh with only each other.

    4) Monica telling Eva her real reasons for needing money.

    5) Corrine back on a plane to France with no book published.

    6) Anne Lucas gets whats coming to her.

    7) Tat admitting it isn't Cary's baby.

    8) A flash forward to GidEva married and happy with a beautiful baby, maybe a first birthday with everyone there.

  10. just a thought.....after re-reading RIY and of course the others:  One of the reasons that Gideon wasn't a suspect in Nathan's murder was that he had "dumped" Eva for Corrine; but when the police came on Friday to question Eva about Nathan, Gideon was there.  How can he explain himself being there (even though it was a family dinner) to the police when they were supposedly broken up????    Just thinking about things to get my mind off OWY

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! Plus, the police have to be suspicious of Gideon and Eva getting married only a few weeks he "broke up" with her.The police have to know they're married by now.

I would love to be able to go back to the other books and have Sylvia pull a "Grey" and re-read the book from Gideons perspective. I would love to know how he went about planing it and see how he did it.

  11. “No, I’m irritated. These only make me appreciate what I have with Eva more. And knowing that they’ll hurt her sure as doesn’t make me feel sentimental about the past. This is our final good-bye, Corinne. ” I held her gaze, making sure she saw my resolve. “If you come back here, I won’t see you.”

    “I won’t be back. You’ll have to—”

Scott beeped through and I picked up the phone. “Yes?”

“Miss Tramell is here for you.”

Corrine went to say something and got cut off. What does everyone think she was going to say?

  12. I love, love, love Gideon's POV! Finally he told cray-cray he and Eva are married its about time. It was interesting that Corinne did not freak out when she heard the news. Besides the book maybe she has another scheme playing out somewhere in that messed up head of hers. I certainly hope not but hey you never know.  Lighthouse I agree with your theory about Arash's (whom I love) comment.

I think Corrine acted weirdly calm. Hopefully nothing is up her sleeve.
