  1. Arash probably has some understanding that Christopher Jr and Gideon do not get along. Since Chris Jr and Gid do business together, I'm sure Arash has probably had to work with them both. I'm not sure about Elizabeth. I feel like the tension with Gideon and Elizabeth is palpable through the pages so everyone should see it but it's probably bc we are in there heads. (Some people seem to still have no clue like Corrine *insert eye roll*)

  2. My favorite part was the "Are you in love, Mr. Cross" lines. So sweet and special.

Anything with Elizabeth I'm automatically not gonna like. It hurt to hear Gideon talk about her. He still a boy who loves his mother but obviously can't let himself.

Not an Arnoldo fan, even though Eva has given him reasons to not to like and trust her. I feel like him and Elizabeth keep trying to push Corrine on Gideon and enough is enough.

I want to know what Gideon said to Victor now and previously.

  3. I loved Eva's concern for Megumi. Eva is a loyal friend.

I didn't like that Monica wasn't told about the engagement like Victor was. That's such a big moment and that is still her mother. I understand a lot happened that night and and all but I didn't like it (I'm very close with my mother which is prob where my feelings come from). I do agree that Monica should've seen the ring the night before. And Gideon was wearing a ring too.

  4. He told Eva in EWY that he took women to his hotel twice a week, but most times he just got them off, not f****** them. And he told Eva in BTY, when they'd been dating for two weeks, that he'd had more sex with her on that time than he'd had the previous two years:

EWY: “Dr. Petersen asked about sexual encounters, Eva,†he said flatly, “which isn’t necessarily f**king, as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t think that distinction would be appreciated when answering the question. So let me be clear: I took women to the hotel, but I didn’t always nail them. It was the exception when I did.â€

BTY: "He was shaking his head as I ogled his divinely perfect torso and lean hips. "I've had as much sex since I met you as I've had in the last two years combined."

Sorry, I must have imagined the 12. That's what i get for studying lab values while thinking about the books. Lol.

  5. Hi guys! Long-time reader/follower, first time poster. These forums are what kept me sane throughout that long wait for CBY, so thanks to all of you for being so intuitive and clever with your predictions and hopes for this fourth book and keeping me entertained. ;)

There is something that has been bugging me about the book that I hope you guys could help me figure out. When Eva is going to San Diego and the whole Brett thing comes up, Gideon tells her that she needs to tell Brett that they're married. And then later, when he confronts Brett, he shows him the picture of their private wedding. Here's my thought, if that is the tactic that Gideon is using to get Brett to back off, why not use the same thing to get Corinne to back off? Corinne is pulling out all the stops as a last ditch effort, couldn't Gideon tell her that they eloped and that she should stop trying as it's too late? Why tell Brett but not Corinne? I know a big part of her story is that she's acting out of character and as you guys have astutely predicted, she may be Anne Lucas' patient which would explain a lot. But still, if they told her that they were married maybe she would pack her stuff and go back to her husband and just quit trying to eff everything up.

I wondered the exact same thing. Glad you brought it up.

Some friends of mine are quick to jump on Eva whenever it comes to Brett but Gideon has made countless mistakes with Corrine (not even talking about his fake dating scenario with her). The whole first book, whenever Corrine called, Gideon came running. It made me so mad to read that. They both make mistakes with exes and they need to work these issues out. And soon.

  6. Henry Cavill - I'm not a big fan of his probably because I haven't really followed his career nor seen him in many things. Someone on Sylvia's Facebook page has said that he shouldn't play Gideon as, like Matt Bomer, he is gay.

    (a) I didn't think he was.

( B) why should someone who is gay not play this part - if they can act and fit the character's description surely that is all that matters.

     I never understood that.

Matt Bomer plays a playboy in White Collar and is in Magic Mike as a married dancer and he pulls off both so well.

  7. You make a good point about us not knowing much about the Vidal marriage ...One of my unanswered questions from BTY is at the garden party when Gideon makes that curious statement to his mother about Carey...Gideon says " I thought you might like him " just remember he's Eva's friend mother and that makes him mine as well... So maybe Elizabeth wasnt always faithful to Chris Sr and the marriage is not truly a happy one ... What do you all think?

I was just thinking of that. I still have so unanswered questions from the past 3 books too.

What was Corrine doing that day at Crossfire when Gideon fought Nathan?

Eva mentioned writing a thesis in the first book but hasn't talked about her education since. Something I've been thinking about since she talks about her career so much.

Of course, Gid's comment to Elizabeth at the garden party.

And pretty much everything about Anne.

I'm afraid the 5th book will have to pretty long for me to get all my answers and my HEA.

  8. I cant imagine how many millions Gideon have spent already clearing up all these messes and buying properties as well  ..   :)  Poor guy really need a happy ending and Eva need to sort herself in book  5 and stopped being stubborn and just make the man happy without a fight and resistance. At this rate Im beginning not to care about her "individuality"  .. (btw currently rereading RIY .. and I dislike Eva a lot  in these book)

Preach! I understand Eva wanting her independence but at some point she has to realize she is dating/married to the one of the wealthiest and publicized men. She needs to understand that she has to sacrifice too in order for them both to be happy.

  9. To me the two most evil characters are Corrine and Anne. Anne is a sicko. Psychotic and it wouldn't surprise me if she is Corrine's therapist. My daughter is a therapist and I know that anyone worth anything in that field would know immediately if meds were wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if Anne misprescribed on purpose to cause Corrine to go nuts. That said, I think Corrine is evil and does not want anyone to have Gideon if she can't. If she was 4 months pregnant when she miscarried, she and Giroux were still together before she came back to the U.S. Could it be possible she was here to see her parents and when she heard about Eva decided to go after Gideon again? As long as he was seeing one nighters who looked like her, she was happy. Eva was another story. (How creepy why he dated brunettes!)

Cary is protective and needy. He is not a bad guy.

Still want to know about Monica. She definitely has a story.

I agree on everything. I'm very curious about Monica.

Did they ever say in the books why Corrine was at Crossfire that day and looking like she had just had a romp (the day Gideon fought with Nathan)?

  10. OK .. I take back my Arnoldo and Corrine  pairing.  .. it was a crazy thought I know  .. I don't know I just feel so sorry for her. She hasn't done anything really damaging except for her guilty trip and emotional blackmail  .  Unlike Brett Kline  .. ah I have so much hate on this character  ..

On a more personal note.. Does anyone feeling bothered about the negative reviews in Amazon . I swear some of those negative reviewer didn't read the book or their judgement has been clouded.  I feel so defensive about Crossfire series and I could spend a day  replying to all of them  -- IF YOU HAVENT POSTED YOUR REVIEW IN  AMAZON .. PLEASE DO SO!  I felt injustice for Gideon and Eva  .. and really rudeness to Sylvia .

I think Corrine is so much worse than Brett. Corrine was trying to psychologically screw with GidEva.

She made Eva think twice that Gideon had slept with her, spent the end of BTY trying to get Gideon to focus on her which worked, got in with Gideons mother and Chris Jr which only hurts Gideon more because he doesn't see them as family the way she thinks, attempts suicide which kills her unborn child and then has the nerve to blame Gideon for it all. Even knowing Gideon's past with his father. Then is writing a tell-all book which is going to really hurt Eva.

I think Corrine and Brett are on whole different playing fields. I don't like either, but Corrine is the one to worry about. A sex tape and being a creep is one thing, putting the blame of your unborn child and your suicide on someone who deals with the issues already is so awful I can't even put it into words.

And yes, go rate and review in Amazon!

  11.

I was thinking  if Anne actually seeing Cary? If this was her way of getting to Eva. Remember they hook up in EWY.. and the woman in the building said  that no one can come in to the building w/o the tenants accompanying the guest? and during this time Cary started  cutting himself  - so is she messing up with Carys head?

I think Corrine has gone crazy  -- but wouldn't do much aside from her book. Gideon has been honest about it to Eva .  Sex tape was worst than all- tale - book.  Maybe Corrine and Arnoldo can  be together ? Seems like Arnoldo has soft spot for her.

Can we get this pairing please:

    Arash and Megumi;

    Victor and Graves

Arnoldo and Corrine  ( i know Im crazy lol)

Intriguing about Carey and Anne. I was thinking about how she was in the building w/ a tenant and that makes sense.

And no to Arnoldo and Corrine for me. If she is with Arnoldo then that means she will still be around GidEva indefinitely and I just don't ever see her being fully okay with not being with Gideon. I wouldn't want her around anyway.

I want to know more about Graves and Monica in the next book. I feel like they would have some very interesting back stories that could help me better understand them. My heart dropped when Graves and Eva spoke. I was just waiting for her to say something horrible the case.

  12. I did wonder about Eva losing her job, all I can see in Bared to You is that she started at an entry-level position, and Mark is a junior account manager and Eva is his first assistant. Not sure what an entry-level position in the US constitutes, or if it means that if your boss goes, you go.

Entry level usually means that the job doesn't require experience for the position (usually for new grads)

  13. CBY gave me so many emotions.

I already mentioned that I kept noticing talk about a baby in the book. Could be nothing. Could be everything. Who knows.

CORR-FREAKING-IN, the poor girl cannot leave well enough alone. I'm tired of her. And if she releases the tell-all, Eva will read it and it is only going to strain her relationship with Gideon. I personally think it's worse than the sex tape. It's one thing to sleep with someone and have a little fling. It's another to be "in love" and engaged with them for years and then have to hear about how the man you love once thought he may have loved someone else. And the she talked about the suicide attempt and her miscarriage. There are no words for what I feel about her.

I expected that out of Brett. I'm over that too.

We didn't even see Tat but got a lot of Trey which I liked. I want him & Carey too work.

I loved, loved, loved Gideons POV. I'm seeing him in a different light. Eva at sometimes killed me at points though which I didn't like.

I also loved him saying I love you and talking about his nightmares and abuse. He has come such a long way since EWY.

  14. My heart was in my stomach when I realized I was almost done with the book and they still haven't spoken. The book was great. I attempted not to read it in one sitting so I could fully digest but I couldn't put it down. This book has been emotional and i'm ready to see what happens next already.

There was a lot of baby talk in the book. From Tat's pregnancy, "First comes love, then comes marriage,.." comment by Ireland, Carey saying the room could be a nursery, and Trey asking Eva if she could be with Gideon if he was in Careys situation and she said if it happened before her, and Eva saying at the end that she wanted a son on the beach when Gideon was talking about the nightmare. Just something I kept noticing.

Brett & Corrine need to go. And Anne, and Deanna, and the list goes on.

I need my HEA now more than ever.

  15.

As I am re-listening (I have read and listened multiple times to the 3 books) to EWY, I am finding myself (for the 1st time) frustrated with Cary.  I know that Cary and Eva have a relationship like no other, but I can't help but be frustrated with his lack of support with Eva regarding Gideon ESPECIALLY when you consider how inconsiderate Cary is by having both Trey and Tatiana (ICK) around, often times on the same day.  Eva has yet to really trash talk either T or T and has put up with Cary's BS of juggling the both T and T.  Eva has even gone as far as to try to help him see the pros and cons of both of them and help Trey to understand Cary.  I  feel like maybe for the small things Cary isn't such a great friend as often as he should be.   I personally would hate having a roommate that is in a relationship and juggling two different people.

I'm with you about Cary. The first time I read the first 3 books I actually did not like him. I thought he was selfish and kind of uses Eva. After I re-read the series he grew on me but part of me still seems him as inconsiderate to Eva with T&T and Gideon.

I'm in love with the first 3 chapters. Getting inside Gideons head only made me love him more. As for Eva, not so much.

I get the Brett thing. I've been dating my boyfriend for over 4 years and about 2 years ago my ex from high school texted me and I remember the thrill of thinking he could actually want me or he is thinking about me. It's nice to get that validation or sense of being "good enough" when I felt used and pushed aside by him. I think Eva is handling it wrong but I get what she's thinking.

  16. I saw on FB where Sylvia posted a photo about a no spoiler zone which could mean that some do have it already

Sylvia put this on FB as a reply to someone who said it's not fair that some have the book:

"It is a massive undertaking to ship over a million copies of a book worldwide. Copies are presently being shipped to vendors and not all vendors have received their shipments yet. It's unfortunate that some vendors who received copies early have chosen to disregard their signed affidavits promising not to sell the book prior to Nov 18. If anyone spots CBY on sale this week, please report the violation by calling 800-253-2304 ext. 2282 - Thank you"
