  1. Ask yourself why Corrine was in the building if not to see Gideon (she clearly was not) as Gideon didn't even know she was there or got into his car. And remember Gideon never invited Nathan to his office and his response when Eva ask who he was meeting was something along the lines of an unexpected appointment! Maybe both were going to see Eva and then the somehow met... Sylvia should give us a prize for the ones who guess things correctly later on, no! Lol. This forum is indeed making the "wait" bearable!
  2. I actually like Corrine's character and don't think she is evil. I think she is the key (her killing Nathan is a gift) that will enable to two the be together. That was not her intention of course re: killing Nathan to protect Eva, she was hooking up with Nathan in defense of Gideon now moving on with Eva. See it in her and Nathan's minds as bed hopping, Of course she thought he was a "good" guy that got rejected by evil Eva (Nathan manipulation) The only person she will trust subsequent to killing and ask for help is Gideon!
  3. I don't think Gideon told her about the abuse as he never felt comfortable bing himself with her which is why hey never worked out or will. I think when Gideon and Eva's relationship went public and Corrine came into the mix, Nathan strategically sought her out as he is that evil and vicious. Remember he showed up in Gideon office and Corrine showed up in the building as well. Neither was invited by Gideon. I think Nathan manipulated Corrine and once the veil was removed that she killed him. And Gideon was protecting her subsequently.
  4. Thanks as MrsCrossfire wasn't getting where I was coming from. If you read those scene like I can see the two meeting up easily. I am not suggesting Gideon had Corrine killed Nathan, I think everyone had plan to protect Eva and Corrine actually killed him because he potentially violated her.
  5. I don't think you get my point. I am saying Corrine and Nathan met which is why she had that "satisfied" looked on her face. I think she and Nathan met and he "steamingly manhandled her" nd when she realized what he was and how despicable that she was the one that killed him. She didn't kill him because of Gideon or Eva but because he potentially assaulted her or violated her. I think Gideon was actually protecting her after the fact and not so much as establishing an alibi for he himself killing her. If you read those pages I suggested you can see the plausible Corrine and Nathan had some form of interaction in that building. I think at first Corrine thought it was for tat--> Eva dating her ex, so now she will date who she thinks is one of Eva's Exs. Look out as she and Brett may end up connecting as well.
  6. Read pages32-39 and visually imagine the time laspse between Eva returning from lunch, Corrine leaving the building as Eva was across the street, Nathan leaving Gideon's office (and he randomly appeared there as well I think as Gideon won't dare invite him that close to Eva) after the fight, Eva walking into the office. I think Angus offered Corrine a ride purposely to warn her potentially.
  7. Well how is this for a shocker or maybe not--->Corrine killed Nathan! I say this as when Eva had returned from lunch with Megaumi, she say Corrine looking all flushed exiting the building. She assumed Corrine was meeting with Gideon and proceed to confront Gideon. Upon finding him in his office, he was disheveled, and semi naked, she later found what she thought was lipstick on his shirt. Now later, Sylvia confirmed that Gideon and Nathan actually fought and it was blood on Gideon's shirt. So Nathan was in the building and actually had just left so Eva missed him. I think Nathan and Corrine met and possible she was "manhandled" by someone (Gideon's choice of words) and that someone was Nathan. I think Nathan most likely at some point attacked Corrine and she killed him or something along those lines and Gideon was actually protecting her, rather than using her for an alibi or to what the Detectives think "give the impression that he had broken up with Eva and return to his former old flame" I really think Corinne and Nathan met during that whole scene. Gideon supposedly didn't know she was in the building and had entered his limo and I believe she was meeting Nathan there. But overall, as easily at it was laid out in EWY, I think it was too neatly pieced together and Corrine not Gideon killed Nathan. Thoughts?
  8. Apologies but I meant him an Trey's relationship. My phone does its own auto correct at times.
  9. I think we need to also keep in mind that the attack on Cary was completely unrelated to Nathan. I think this is how we are going to delve more into his history (so looking forward to it) and character development with Troy. I saw this as remember after his attack Monica stated "Cary was told to keep his hands of 'her'-whoever 'her' is. The detective will come back later today to try to pull some names out oh him." I honestly think that Cary's attack had more to do with own way of seemingly sabotaging his relationships and will give us to glimpse more of him, his abuse and relationship with Eva. What do others think? I don't by the detectives logic that Nathan attacked Cary as a warning to Eva.... The ending was to neatly pieced together and I think the two are not related.
  10. I have been re-reading both books so many times and it just dawned on me that subsequent to the altercation with Brett, ands Gideon and Eva going away for the weekend, all of a sudden while they made love and the like, the actually slept apart the entire weekend. Why is that I am wondering. I know there was that one incident where he attacked her in his sleep but he was given meds and continued to share the same bed but during that weekend, they slept apart. It could be as easy as he didn't have his meds with him perhaps? I think we are so obsess with the whole Nathan issue that we are missing a much larger issue and threat being Christopher. I say this based on the last snippet where Eva tells Gideon that he has being fighting his battle alone etc and she is now there to fight for him and the like. I honesty think that the larger issue is with Christopher.
  11. New snippet and oh my does it show Eva's fiesty side!!!
  12. That's her "Gideon Stye" urge for us to "WAIT"
  13. And with her snippets to us here and there, its the equilavent of Gideon and Eva having secretly "stolen moments" away from prying eyes (darn publishers), no!!! Lol
  14. It really is kind of the typical Gideon/Eva situation with Sylvia (aka Gideon) telling us (aka Eva) to "WAIT." Gosh, now I so have a deeper understanding of that part in the book. Grrrr the frustration. And no other book gives me that much satisfication as this story is just beyond freaking unique and compelling. It's in a category of its own!!!!
  15. Dully noted. I am just being "Eva-style restless". I figure since I have to wait, I might as well.
  16. I've long since stated that it makes sense it's Monica. It's that simple. She is very protective of Eva and I can definitely see her doing this. Never underestimate the power of a mother's love. On a more important note, from the looks of things it's not that SD has not met her deadline and the like, and looks like EWY is completed or just about, but longistics on the publisher's end has caused the delay and constant push back. While totally understandable I think creating a petition to get prompt release will expedite things on their end, no???? TOWARDS THIS END, I AM SO SERIOUS ABOUT ABOUT CREATING AN ONELINE PETITION!!!
  17. I have been re-reading BTY and RIY and more and more I think Gideon was abused by a woman. It explains possible alot in regards to his subsequent treatment of all thr women in his life and his mother's comment about taking him to a Dr and not finding any evidence of abuse, and also the part about Christopher and when he said that Chtistopher takes competition to a whole new level etc. more I think about it, it aligns potentially. I am once more re-reading BTY with a fresher pair of eyes!!!
  18. I meant to say her dad "ISN'T" as clueless as we would have lead to believe. Apologies for the typo
  19. As I said in an earlier post, never underestimate a mother's love. At the end of RIY, while it was described as Gideon killed Nathan, what I think is equally worth pondering is the fact that Monica def could have also committed the crime. I think as a whole, they all instituted plans to keep Eva safe so Gideon def knows what happen an played a role, what that role is I am not sure. Also, I don't think Eva's dad is as clueless as we would have been lead to believe....
  20. Making love is the kind is sex that is beautiful and honest.... And that's what he has with Eva...semotional and power... That's love...sex..., no? So from that perspective he isnt lying...... Sometimes you have to like not take things literary......
  21. Never underestimate the power of a mother's love, a determined mother that is. It's easy to say yes Gideon killed Nathan but equally worth considering is Eva's mother as well. Remember she is all about maintaining an image, and I guess also maybe protecting Eva as i think she still harbor pain from not doing this on the onset. remember she was totally freaked out upon learning Eva told Gideon about Nathan. Just food for thought. It could very well be that Gideon helped cover it up as well. And I don't think Eva's dad is as clueless as we would have been otherwise led to believe. So just putting those things out there....
  22. It was explained that with Nathan it wasn't about money but more him seeing Eva as his possession so that's why he was threatened by Gideon's with Eva. He just sees her and his so I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination at all. Although at the end, it is leaning towards Gideon possibly committing the crime although it was explained so clearly and final that there could be a shocker in the upcoming book as well!!!!
  23. Or what about Brett? If Nathan was approaching everyone in Eva's life, logically at some point he would have also approached Brett, no?
  24. I think they will as we have yet to delve into his abused history and the unfortunate events he experienced as a child
