Since the first book, all we wanted was for Gideon and Eva to be happy in the end.  Cary too.  But I never thought about getting so emotional about the others in their lives.  Talk about a roller coaster!  I'm going back to read and slower.  I notice that every single sentence is important to the story.  Sylvia is the best.   I know that this is the end of the series (emotional about), but since their story for us is their beginnings together, another book could happen down the road when they start a family.  IDK.  Don't think I could stand if anything but good happens to them.

I think Gideon got rough with Anne because she looked so much like her brother. He was seeking control where he had none when abused. Not because of her husband but because of Hugh. She wanted Gideon so bad that she was right there with him. Then he dropped her. A woman scorned...

And Eva did run from Gideon saying she never left him. But we know in his mind, it's the same thing. He. Has. No one. She has Cary to lean on. I feel bad for him. Sounds like she was understanding why he played his hand and forced hers. Timing was bad.

I'm looking up Fixed Trilogy for after This Man.  Sylvia once said her favorite book is The Fifth Favor.  I ordered it on Amazon because it can't be downloaded.  The author wrote another about a character in the book and it is good too, but the names escapes me.  Anyway, I have read the Fifth Favor several times.  It breaks your heart and also a great read.

I just bought it to get me by. 

I will read This Man while waiting for 5.  I'm in Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg's reading club to discuss books on his reading wish list. ZzZzZzZz Economics is the subject of the first.  My degrees are in business and Accounting so I'll play along, but I need me some Gideon to get by.  lol

I was disappointed that Eva ran AGAIN but then thought about it and changed my mind. She can't think straight around him and they end up rolling in bed. She had the perfect place and excuse in that her family wouldn't think anything of singles Eva and Cary diving into wedding plans. Clancy wouldn't be suspicious either. I think I did the same thing when I was mad at my fiancé and didn't want people interfering and giving me unwanted advice at the time. I left my apartment and hung out with my parents because I always gave into my now husband. BUT let's hope Eva knocks it off in the next book. She's married. It kills us because we know what it's doing to Gideon and because she promised.

If Sylvia reads this, I want you to know I loved the ending of this book. It shows that they need to back up and DATE.

Yes we forget this. I LOVE that we are getting the literal day-by-day account of this romance. I don't want to fill-in the spaces with my mind that runs wild. I wrote a review of this book loving that it answered so many questions that we had. The sex scenes are imperative to the story. These are two sexual people that are struggling in being a real couple.

I have something bothering me and don't have time this moment to go back and see if it was addressed here.  Help me out please.  Angus asks Eva if Chris believed Gideon.  Angus knew?  I thought only Eva figured out he was abused.

Question because as many times as I've read the books... Angus asked Eva if Chris believed Gideon. He knew all along?

I too loved how we got Gideon's POV so much in the Captivated By You.  Eva used to break my heart, but it's Gideon that kills me now.  Just want a happy ending for them.  Someone cracked me up on one of the threads about Eva's form of birth control and how it has worked so far.  lol.  But I wouldn't we just melt if they had a little Gideon?  Not sure if this girl's heart could take it! 

I read that the date for the 5th OWY won't be announced until all the foreign markets release CBY.

I'm back on after a few days away. Wow did I miss a lot of fun stuff! And some yummy pics too. LoL. I'm still on a personal quest for my Gideon. It's always an intense model with the inky black hair. OMG I need to get a life! LoL

As for the story, I agree that Megumi is in trouble because of the way Sylvia has emphasized her not responding to calls repeatedly. I think Monica acts crazy because she has put Eva in more danger than the Nathan ordeal and she hid it from everyone because she could... $$$.

Eva's fighting to be a grown-up, when she's actually the strongest of the whole bunch.

If you're looking for a read to get you through, try Shelby Reed's new book 'Games People Play.' It coincides with her 'The Fifth Favor' that Sylvia introduced us to, but you don't have to read one before the other.

Chapter 15 in the morning at 5 am when Eva snuck over to Gideon's and they have that fabulous sexy time he is describing how gorgeous she is and how much she turns him on he says sometimes you're this icy, hands off blonde and then other times your like this so hot and needy...

Thanks! I don't see Eva as that, but I guess that's his point-of-view. After all, he came on hard to her and she was sassy back to him.

Was there a part in EWY where Gideon said to Eva that she was sometimes ICY? I'm going back to look because I'm doing the audio version now. If so, what was that ll about? Any thoughts?

I guess Gideon's nightmares increased because he witnessed/relived his rapes through Nathan's videos of Eva. (You may have discussed in earlier posts.) I think Eva mentioned that the weight of the murder to protect her weighed heavily causing them. Poor guy.

When did she say she was drained financially??

When Monica and Eva were trying to make amends, Monica talked more about the importance of having money for when things come up and implied that she has something big to tell Eva and at another time. That's all we know so far.

I agree with you.  It is all of this "secret-keeping" that has put Eva most at risk!   don't think that all of the secrets have come to life yet!!  I wonder what secrets are left to tell?  Judging from the whole Russian Mob thing, I have a feeling that it is going to be a whooper of a story to tell!

We know little about Monica's marriage to the 'whale' gambler. She has something to tell Eva. I'm sure that's where Sylvia is heading.

Eva's stronger than all of those around her. I think even stronger than Gideon in that she is further along in dealing with her skeletons. Even her dad Victor is kind of a mess right now. It's going to end up that everyone has to lean on strong Eva.

I used to listen to audio books more when I lived in Pennsylvania and worked in Baltimore City.  It gave me three hours a day to read while driving.  Now that I live so close to where I no sooner start listening and I'm there.

 

I told Sheens this story awhile ago.  When I was listening to Reflected it was a beautiful spring day.  I had the window down and the radio turned up enjoying the story.  I hit the longest red light in the area just in time for the NC trip.  I was so into the scene and shortly felt someone looking at me.  As a looked up the guy in the car next to me looked me right in the eyes and just smiled the biggest smile.  I was so embarrassed.  I felt my face turning red.  Let me tell you I quickly put the windows up and turned on the AC.  The thing is many of us leave around the same time and I see them every day on the way to work the green Chevy guy is one of my neighbors.  I changed my hours so I had to leave earlier for a few months to avoid him. 

 

Sheens told me I'm suppose to listen with ear buds.  I learned that lesson the hard way.   

Thanks for sharing! LoL. It reiterates my fear that my daughter or someone will stumble upon my audio of crossfire on my iPad!
