Because of what Gideon said to his mom at the garden about Cary being Eva's friend, makes me think that maybe Christopher Sr. was his dad's friend and she had something going on with him. That could explain the quick marriage and all. They might have already been involved.

KiMa Securities and exchange... his dad collected money to invest and didn't invest it. He had a Pyramid Scheme. Gideon probably uses the name Cross to prove to the world that he is honest unlike his dad.

I wonder if Christopher Jr. was sexually abused and didn't tell like Eva didn't tell. He was younger and everyone was focused on Gideon because of his father's suicide. Could explain a lot.

No, I don't think Gideon abused Christopher. I think the things Gideon says in his dreams are his coping mechanisms -his getting even with his abuser by giving it back to him. It was the doctoral candidate i believe and according to the story.

I know. Just looking at it from Christopher's POV. He thinks too that Gideon is with Corrine, so he's going to try I bet. Eva, Gideon or both will have to straighten him out soon,

But Eva isn't seeing this yet. She doesn't realize the game she's playing... she is giving Christopher some hope by dancing, returning his calls, lunch, the garden party.

I truly don't think she sees herself as they do. That ole self esteem. She admits she's a clone of her own mother, that her mom looks as young. Describes her mom as a goddess that men can't resist, but doesn't describe herself the same. She's probably a little too nice and needs to cut a few folks off just as a gideon should.

Let's not forget that Christopher Jr. Is pursuing Eva too. Though she's repulsed by him, he still may try. I hope Gideon uses his Kung fu on him.

I told Sylvia after BTY that I too didn't like Corrine and want her gone... I was feeling Eva's jealousy. No matter what's going on, I hope Eva grabs her long hair and beats the out of her! Lol I'm bad.

Most everyone I know went back and read BTY and RIY at least 3 times. I never did that until this book. I think it's because we love the story so much that we go too fast the first time. And Sylvia is so good at what she does, we can't stop thinking about it until our questions are resolved.

I see I made a typo that needs fixed... Gideon said at the garden party that he could make whatever Cary wants 'happen' not Trey.

Anyway, he controls Vidal and I'm sure everyone involved knows he can make or break them. Remember during the fight, the rest of Brett's band members came out and freaked out because of who Brett was fighting? Gideon Googles and I'm sure he saw what Brett put out about a 2nd chance with Eva and then there's THE SONG.

So to answer your question, I think Gideon could make or break Brett's career and I'm leaning towards BREAK if Brett keeps pursuing Eva. Brett needs Gideon but billionaire doesn't need or like the music industry.

I think because he's a musician, Brett has always had girls at his disposal. Eva's disappearing probably messed with his head. I'm sure everyone in his circle wondered what happened. Tough on the ego. Now he's slightly older, things are lining up and his hoping of Eva showing up one day is a reality. He wants what he once had back and the @$$ whooping made it even more of a challenge. I think those two are going to go at it again. OMG. He could NEVER handle Eva. BUT I think this triangle will work good to the public for Gideon's alibi.

I'm worried that Cary won't be able to handle his fame and money. People chase for it and when they catch it, they don't know what to do or how to move forward. Add his injuries/no work, past addiction, unstable upbringing, dependency on Eva and the emotional complication of being bi-sexual. I'm worried. We want him HAPPY!

He may be okay with Eva's new love as-long-as his relationship moves forward too and he has Trey. But it's too complicated. I'm worried I think. Maybe Gideon will take him under his wing (career or finances) to make Eva happy. He said whatever Trey wanted from that party he could make happen AND Gideon took care of setting up his recovery after the hospital released him.

I bet Gideon messes with Brett's career. He could. We'll see.

Do any of you think that guy at the poolside bar in Vegas will reappear?

I think Cary is Team Eva, BUT I bet he has a little crush on her too... he cheats with pretty blonde girls. He did side with Gideon in the beginnings.

I have a Cary, that my Gideon had to get over... and my Cary grew up rough with my family taking him under their wings... he's like a brother to me and I'm the sister he never had. He loves DRAMA and he's been known to stir things up or be mischievous. I think Cary is ornery and am anxious to see how he ends up in the next book. I'm afraid for him.

But Gideon says in the Snippet from his point of view that he needed to see if Eva still wants him 'after what I did.' With that and other clues, I don't see how we can think otherwise.

And I told Sylvia way back in the beginnings that I don't like Corrine. I could feel Eva's frustration and jealousy! I want her gone LoL

Sylvia is giving us snapshots twice a week and the one for a chapter 2 in the next book looks like an opened Christmas gift! Do you think she's going to jump ahead?
