  1. So Creepy (loving this)could be the demise of Vidal records, through his inherent jealousy. I agree Creepy does know of the sex tapes existence. I'm just wondering how Gideon will reconcile with his mother, if she is so viciously nasty to Eva. If she knows about the tape, that would cause a bigger rift between the Vidals and Eva and Gideon surely.

I'm lovin' the nicknames! What's Deanna's? She just as irritating as the rest of the bunch.

  2. Gideon confessed to Eva on Wednesday night, the night they got back together after she found out the truth about how Nathan died from Detective Graves. He did so when they talked in her bedroom. They also talked about whether or not she could live with that knowledge, and she agreed she believed she could. As a cop's daughter she knew full well even as she promised Gideon she could live with the truth (in other words, she wasn't going to "turn him in") that she herself was now an active part of his ongoing plan to cover up what he'd done. It's all in Chapter 1.

The subject of his having killed Nathan came up directly again on Friday night (Chapter 8), this time in the context of Gideon's nightmares. The fact he'd killed someone, and now is having nightmares about that on top of his rape nightmares, has now made it even more risky for him to sleep next to Eva, given his parasomnia condition that sometimes makes him actually start acting out for real the imaginary violence going on inside his head during a bad nightmare.

The fact the pair of them are letting the dead Russian "take the fall" is more of their ongoing co-conspiracy to keep him from ever being charged with Nathan's killing. The subject first came up in Chapter 12 and is more fully-blown-out in Chapter 14.

Gideon did it, my friends, and he's confessed to Eva, and she's now protecting him. Whatever plot twists are coming in Books 4 and 5, they're not going to include revelations that someone else did it. Sylvia herself has made clear repeatedly that Gideon did do it, and she has explained as an author why the character of Gideon did what he did.

I know it kills (pun intended) some fans to believe our hero could take the ultimate extreme measure to save Eva's own life. But it was most definitely HIM, not whoever subsequently tampered with evidence by stealing that bracelet off Nathan's corpse, plus some of Nathan's recent stalker photos of Eva, later planting that evidence to try to make it look like the Russian gangster was the killer. That bracelet was still on Nathan when Gideon left the body in the hotel room, and Gideon told Eva so (in Chapter 14.)

    Absolutely correct.

  3. Hi ! I don't know if I'm right but I don't think Eva and Gideon haveever talked about him doing the murder directly or him admitting to it to Eva.Theyve talked around it and about it but Gideon has never come out and said he's done it nor has he told how he did it.Three conversations come to mind where they have alluded to Gideon killing Nathan is when Gideon is telling Eva what the options were for keeping her safe that's in Chapter 1 or 2 and the second time is when she says you killed a man for me and he responds his love is not an obligation third time is when he says he left the bracelet on Nathan but he has never explicitly said .Based on this I would think that Eva has no knowledge that Gideon killed Nathan from Gideon himself but rather from Detective Graves.

I could altogether wrong ,would welcome any other view /correction.

He said that he killed for her. Asked Eva if she could live with that.

  4. Could someone please tell me the number of the New Year's snippet that's been referred to several times? Or the easiest way to find it? The one I mean is said to be from Gideon's point of view. I must have missed it - didn't join the fun until a month or two ago. Thanks in advance.

There's no number. If you google Gideon's Point of View or Gideon's POV with Sylvia Day it will come up. It was my favorite Snippet. Ahhhhh

  5. Hi Rogue,

Could it be that Deanna’s agenda is money?  Money always seems to talk in some situations.  If you can’t have what you want (Deanna having Gideon) then have what you want (Deanna helping herself to wad of cash courtesy of Gideon)?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Nah. She's got the hots for Gideon and can't figure out 'why Eva.' She's a reporter stalker and because she's been on the inside, literally lol, she can hurt him the only eay she can and get the story at the same time. Now he has her right where he wants her with the deal. BUT, the fact that he's paying her the attention she wants is irritating. Poor Eva.

  6. Hi Barb55,

I don’t personally think that Gideon and Corinne spent a lot of time with either of their families. He could barely stand to spend an extended amount of time with Corinne, let alone anyone else. I sincerely couldn’t see either of them attending a family function or that the engagement would have even been celebrated with a party of sorts by either family.

I think that once Gideon proposed and Corinne said yes, he realized the error of his ways. I think that he became panic stricken and started to realize just exactly what being engaged to the “wrong†woman would mean to him and his life (which may have also made him panic even more).

I think that maybe Elizabeth Vidal may have manipulated the situation. I am sure that Corinne would have run home to her family gushing that Gideon (the man that she was crazy in love with) and she were getting married and I think that Corinne’s parents picked up the phone to contact Elizabeth Vidal and thus began the closeness and “pseudo wedding planningâ€.

I think that the families were friends, said hi, got together occasionally and probably ran in the same social circles, but the advent of the upcoming wedding probably made these families come together even more. What does everyone else think?

At the end of Bared to You, Gideon told Eva that Corrine proposed to him. In any case and like you say, the families probably were friends when a wedding was looming. But Corrine is still married, her husband in town, and shame on whoever called Gideon in. He had absolutely no reason to be there at that extremely private time. Even if Corrine was asking for him. That's dysfunction.
  7. I apologize if this is a duplicate question. I am busy this week and I haven't had the time to read everything.

    I'm still confused about Graves:

The detectives stop by Eva's and ask her about Nathan and the Russian mob.

Gideon knows he was given a get-out-of-jail-free card and he wants to know why.

Gideon's lawyers tell him the case is cold or on the shelf.

Eva runs into Graves at the Krav Maga class and she is told don't worry the case is cold.

At the same session Graves told Eva she needs to worry about the bracelet.

What's up with all the mixed messages? Is Graves still playing with Eva? Isn't the prosecution required to give the defense accurate information? If yes, why is Graves still hounding Eva?

I think at this point Graves truly gets thewhole dynamic. Graves made a statement to Eva that it's good she's still being cautious. I didn't take it as her meaning protecting Gideon, but about Eva herself. In life, if someone wants to get someone, they will. Even though she admits the case is cold, they have to address any new leads.
  8. Remember: In the beginning, Eva told Gideon that he set the tone. Even though Brett has been told they are just friends, Eva is there to support him. Without admitting it, she's following Gideon's lead. Every time Gideon is in contact with Corrine, Eva and Brett end up connecting via a call, lunch, etc. Brett's band doesn't need Eva for Golden to move forward. She even said that the crowd wasn't enthusiastic for her when she stepped out of the limo at Times Square. And Cary reminded her that NO means NO. She's flirting with disaster because of Brett's bold statement about being inside her. She needs to Cut. Him. Off. Gideon may be Kung Fooing on Brett again. I can't see him letting his new bride go to SD with just Cary and knowing the band will be there... and the Russian mob maybe wanting to kidnap her.

  9. Hi MicheleWV,

You bring up a good point that never occurred to me. You could very well be correct in thinking that Gideon wouldn't have been expecting everyone to be gathered in the waiting room. I don't know if Elizabeth and Corinne joined forces but it could be possible that Elizabeth was still in close contact with Corinne's parents and that is why she was at the hospital.

A child attempting suicide is a very tragic and personal thing. I couldn't see a mother picking up the phone and calling her friends to let them know about something like this. I think this is the type of situation that someone would keep private and only tell the closest of people. I don't think that the parents would have wanted the outside world to know.

It could also be pure coinsidence that Elizabeth Vidal may have been somewhere with one or both of Corinne's parents (like at a lunch or dinner, etc.) when they got the news about their daughter and Elizabeth may have come with them. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Christopher Jr. Corrine was in contact with him. I'd say he's behind them all ending up together. And no doubt, Corrine has reached out to all involved to get Gideon back. She's really pi$&ing me off LoL. It's no longer Gideon's place to run to her side. Stop it Gideon!
  10. I mean does Terry Lucas not have any ba!!s? How could he still be married to this woman ? He is a doctor after all he could probablyget a new woman with no problem ... Anne obviously isn't satisfied in the bedroom because she's constantly hitting it with younger hot men like Gideon and now Cary ... You have to wonder why he hasn't kicked her to the curb long ago unless she has something on him that she's holding over his head such as the Gideon incident...

Agree. Lucas must be bad in bed to have his woman lifting her skirt at public functions. Ewwww. I can't wait for Eva to put her in her place.

  11. I would love to know your thoughts on why Gideon needed to get married then, that weekend so badly? He tells Eva, I need the vows, the legality......I'm going crazy without them. We know they are deeply in love with each other and they agree there isn't anyone else for them but why did he want to get married so quickly? Don't get me wrong, I love that they are married and thought is was so romantic but as I re read the wedding last night, I wondered why he was so desperate...

As I was reading this, my mouth fell open because I can relate. I ended up getting married the same way and my husband expressing the same idea. He was traveling with work and probably put in situations that he felt uncomfortable with. (That's what i've always thought and wedding planning makes most men uncomfortable.). It's not about not trusting Eva or himself. It's about someone with an impulsive personality that wants what they want when they want it and can't justify other options.

Gideon and Eva have all kinds of crazy stuff coming at them with no end in sight. Brett, Corrine and her hubby, Deanna, Cary, Elizabeth are intertwined in their business dealings/life and Gideon NEEDS them to understand that he and Eva are off the market. They're together so give it up. They may still try to break them up, but it's done in the eyes of the law, God and each other.

  13. I just reread this chapter and shortly after this phone call, Eva asks Gideon whay Corinne wanted (besides him) He told her she was "teary" and that he'd never heard her like that before. I assume this is the 'tack' she was now trying with Gideon. That's not to say she wasn't talking about how much his family/mother wanted them back together while crying though...

    I agree 100%

  14. Hi Sharon,

We don't know how Gideon got the ring, but it sounds like mamma thought she'd be getting it back. Gideon can afford anything on the planet, so it could either be that he is sentimental wanting to keep it in the family or a huge statement to his mother for not believing him. He ultimately put it on the finger of the woman who stood up for him.

  15. Soooo sick of Corinne. Cut. Her. Off. For the love of God! You can't be friends with your exes. Even though he says he's not leading her on...HE IS! Attention is giving her HOPE.

Seems like there's more going on between Deanna and Gideon. I no likey.

    And Elizabeth. Whew!

I loved this book because it's Eva and Gideon against the world and they're doing it. The wedding was perfect. I can relate. My husband got me to marry him the same way. We didnt tell for a while, because of my mom :/ BUT, I still haven't had the wedding. I will live vicariously through Mr. And Mrs. Cross.

  16. The fact that Sylvia mentions Eva trying to get ahold of the sick Megumi several times with no results makes me think something's up. I so want her to be Eva's friend. She needs girlfriends.

  17. KiMa, I think it's obvious that Gideon became acquainted with the beautiful blue-eyed brunette Corrine because of his mommy issues. He feels she didn't love him enough and here this younger version pursues him in college and bam.

As for the red-heads, I think their hair-color has nothing to do with anything. He slept with the doctor's wife because of who she was and that's it. I think Sylvia mentions that the receptionist is red-head to assure us that Gideon doesn't give her the time-of-day just like Dr. Lucas's wife.

  18. KiMa,

I've always believed that he's saying love in another language that doesn't use it so broadly or as we do in English.

I don't like that receptionist either. I thought she was a red-head. In any case, I don't like her because I get my claws out for anyone who messes with Eva. Lol. I'm sure she drools over Gideon all day.

And I don't care if Corrine isn't a bad person as Sylvia says, for the fact that she moved back for Gideon and within a block!!! No way. She needs to go. Oh my. I will have to take the day off from work when the book comes out!
