  1. Â Theories here that Cary has NO CLUE Gideon has come back to Eva and is secretly seeing her. Â Cary, still at home laying in a home hospital bed, continuing to recover from broken bones, overheard Gideon sneak into Eva's room and heard them making love all night long. Eva lets him assume it wasn't anything different than the last time Gideon snuck in three-plus weeks ago: "banged" Eva all night just to get it out of his system.. Weeks ago, Cary actually feared Gideon had banged Eva just to get it out of his system. Cary told Eva as much the next morning. Cary is now thinking Gideon's just using Eva to get laid. Especially if Cary thinks Gideon is still seeing Corrine - in that case, Gideon's cheating on his "real" girlfriend Corrine with his "ex" Eva. Moving forward, Gideon never sneaks into Eva's again. Instead, he has Eva sneak into his own apartment building via the service entrance (remember that snippet where asks Eva, when she phones him from the nightclub, to come home to him.) So Cary's now left to assume the sweet reconciliation sex (and then probably some serious animal sex) Gideon and Eva had the second time wasn't anything more than the first time weeks ago. Especially because Gideon doesn't sneak in again (i.e. a third time). Maybe the second time, Gideon finally DID get Eva out of his system. For right now (as long as it is dangerous for anyone to know the truth, even Cary) Cary is made to believe Gideon yet again slept with Eva and rejected her the next morning. Â It would be the smart thing to totally keep Cary in the dark they are secretly seeing one another. That's as much for Cary's own protection as their own. Cary is inexorably tied into Nathan's murder as it is (Cary's beating is what made Gideon decide Eva was in mortal danger -- and that was the basis of the motive to murder.) To further embroil Cary in the case -- by making him have to keep a very dangerous secret -- could put Cary in a horrible position. If the cops think Cary knows for a fact Gideon is in love with Eva, and is doing stuff that proves it (secretly seeing her) they might try to make Cary testify against Gideon.
  2. Theories about what happens when Brett takes the microphone and openly declares to the crowd (and media present) Golden is none other than the lovely Eva Tramell standing right there out in the crowd: Â Anger washes over Gideon's face while he's standing next to Eva. Photographer gets a shot before either of them realize a photographer was standing there. People (cops) can misinterpret it as Gideon furious at Eva. One problem solved toward proving the new lie - Gideon dumped Eva over Brett, not Corrine.
  3. Â Love it!!!! Especially if Gideon is standing right next to Eva -- and neither of them sees a photographer run up until it's too late, until a flash going on makes Gideon realize (oh s***!!!!) some paparazzi just capture it. Take that Corrine!!!!!

  5.  Barbie, do you mean the text of Snippet 10? Snippets especially crash the server temporarily -- and I'll bet a bunch of regulars just rushed there this morning;  Here's the text:   Brett smiled. “Don’t go anywhere.†He bounded off. Cary and I walked over to the tent bearing the Vidal Records logo. Protected from the crowds by private security, it was a tiny oasis in the madness of Times Square. “Well, baby girl, you’ve got your hands full with him. I forgot how it was with you two.†“Was being the operative word,†I pointed out. “He’s different from before,†he went on. “More… settled.†“That’s great for him. Especially with all that’s going on in his life right now.†He scoped me out. “Aren’t you even the slightest bit interested in seeing if he can still bang you brainless?†I shot him a look. “Chemistry is chemistry. And I’m sure he’s had plenty of chances to bone up on his already fabulous skills.†“Bone up, ha! That’s punny.†He waggled his brows at me. “You seem solid.†“Ah, now that would be an illusion.†“Well, look who’s here,†he murmured, turning my attention to Gideon, who was approaching with Ireland at his side. “And heading straight toward us. If there’s a brawl over you, I’m watching from the bleachers.†I shoved at him. “Thanks.â€
  6. DEFINITELY BRETT -- it's obvious now why Sylvia released snippet 10 yesterday, a piece of a scene involving Brett being back. Â Here's the link:Â www.sylviaday.com/2013/03/29/entwined-snapshot-4/
  7. Â If Corrine actually wanted what was truly best for Gideon, she would have wished him all the happiness in the world with the new girlfriend he's told Corrine all about via telephone when Corrine was still in France. He'd started a new serious relationship with someone who (miracle of miracles) was so good for him the new girlfriend was getting him to open up. Â Nope, desperate and messed up Corrine crashed an event where Gideon would have been out in public in front of everyone with the new girlfriend. To Corrine's utter delight, it turned out Gideon hadn't even told the girlfriend about Corrine being his friend, much less telling the girlfriend he used to be engaged to Corrine. But Gideon did warn Corrine that Eva was insecure and jealous. Judging by the fact Eva stormed out of the dinner, it was true. Â Corrine came back to New York to try to chase Gideon down again just like she first started chasing him ten years ago. She saw with her own eyes that Eva was serious competition -- AND -- Eva had serious weaknesses that would be all too simple to exploit. So that's exactly what Corrine did. To destroy the new relationship and clear the way for her (Corrine) to chase Gideon all the way to the altar this time. Weeks later, it appeared to have worked. Gideon had totally cut Eva out of his life, and he was spending time with one woman alone -- Corrine herself. Nor would he be denying (because he COULDN'T) all the rumors he was dating Corrine again.
  8. IT'S FRIDAY, WHICH MEANS WE'LL GET THE CHAPTER FOUR SNAPSHOT ANY TIME NOW.  Important reminder Sylvia posted on Facebook a little while ago:   "Remember, snapshots are pictures, not text. There is nothing to click on or read. You just view the photo as a clue to something that happens in the chapter. Also, the sudden rush of traffic to view snippets and excerpts causes the server to crash. This happens all the time and is to be expected. If you click through and get a server error, either refresh the page until it comes up or check back later."
  9. Â True dat. Maybe by Eva getting right into Elizabeth's face telling Elizabeth that Gideon was suffering horrific nightmares, believed himself to be unworthy of love, and that beneath the outward surface, Gideon's life was living h*** MIGHT make Elizabeth think that MAYBE Gideon hadn't lied all those years ago. Â Maybe it's true after all that something terrible happened to him as a pre-teen and those pediatricians were wrong, as were the shrinks who probably told her Gideon was so desperate for attention he was telling lies. Back then, Elizabeth believed the professionals, not her own son. So now it makes sense why Gideon, all these years later, wants as little as possible to do with Elizabeth. Because she utterly failed him, the one person who ought to have loved him unconditionally.
  10.  Thus far, Brett has played 100% fair. The only thing Gideon has any right to fault Brett with was kissing Eva (oh and fighting back to defend himself when Gideon went postal and tried to kick Brett's a**)  But guess what, Eva kissed back. And at the time, Brett had NO idea Eva was in a serious relationship, much less knowing her boyfriend was just inside the club. So actually, Brett didn't do anything "wrong" that night to begin with.  The following Tuesday, Brett sought out Eva to try to talk to her.Which actually was exactly the right thing to do, given what happened Friday night. Guess what? Eva took him out to lunch. And talked things out with him -- what he had done wrong, why she disappeared. He apologized and she accepted. He asked what the deal was with Gideon, and she said she was in love with Gideon. But guess what? Obviously, the relationship was rocky.  And right now, as Entwined opens, three weeks have passed, and Brett is led to believe Gideon is DONE with Eva.   Simple Internet searching would reveal something thrilling to Brett -- Gideon obviously dumped Eva and then started seeing an extremely serious ex girlfriend of his. Oh and the timing of that? Brett kissed Eva on Friday night, and Gideon erupted in rage. By Monday evening, Gideon was out in public with Corrine.  In fact, if Brett looked carefully, he could see Gideon was photographed with Eva for only a couple of weeks at the start of the summer. But then Gideon quit allowing Eva to appear alongside him in celebrity photos. Quit doing so, in fact, well before that concert. (Gideon did it as soon as Nathan showed up.) So obviously, Brett could safely assume the relationship (which hadn't been going on very long to begin with) started falling apart early. Was falling apart even before Brett spotted Eva right after the concert.  Judging by the way Eva acted at lunch a few days after the concert, it must have been true Gideon actually dumped her over the weekend -- Eva just hadn't yet accepted the fact. (Eva was in fact miserable and confused at the time, having found out immediately prior to Brett showing up at the Crossfire the real reason Gideon had blown her off the night before without so much as a phone call or text saying he wasn't coming to the hospital. Instead, Gideon took Corrine out to dinner while Eva sat at Cary's bedside. And first thing that morning (even before Eva knew about where Gideon had been the night before), Gideon had been nasty on the phone because Gideon didn't like the fact Eva left the hospital without "permission".  How could Gideon do that when over the weekend in North Carolina, Gideon acknowledged he now "got it" how much Corrine bothered Eva.)  So Gideon taking revenge against Brett would be wrong. Brett's fought fair and square. It'd be pure spite (and a stupid business move) to take it out on Brett for the fact Eva kissed Brett. The relationship already was in trouble the night Eva kissed him back. As soon as he got the chance, Brett went to see Eva and asked her himself what the deal was about her dating Gideon Cross. She said she loved the guy, but Brett could see with his own eyes she was miserable, and even she dithered on the answer whether the relationship was serious. "Sometimes it sees that way" was what she said.  So it was then that Brett told her upfront he wanted another chance, and he decided to refuse to take her immediate "no" for a final answer. Since then, Brett on his own via the Internet figured out Gideon was done with Eva and already seeing someone else. So that's when Brett declared in an interview he was seeing another shot. And now we know (from yesterday's snippet) Brett's come back to New York to see Eva.  If anyone deserves "revenge" it's Corrine for fighting very dirty in an attempt to deliberately use Eva's insecurity and jealousy to destroy what Gideon had with Eva and drive Eva away from him forever.
  11. GiGi you made an excellent argument above about Corrine having had time (years) and distance (the Atlantic ocean between them) to think things over about how dysfunctional Gideon's relationship with her had been.  BUT .... As I see it, she never grew. Quite the opposite -- she's worse now than ever. To argue my case, below are your points in bold text with my counter arguments in italics.  You wrote: What you are assuming is that Corinne would have stayed broken. My point: That's exactly what did happen here. She spent years (let's estimate at least five) pining for Gideon still, despite all her radical efforts -- marrying another guy, leaving the country. That poor guy never had a chance, because Corrine never dropped the torch. And Corrine destroyed the marriage, leaving the guy, leaving the country -- running back to New York, where Gideon still was. Gideon himself told Eva he believes he was the cause of the marriage failing. THAT was the source of Gideon's guilty feelings, the feelings that Corrine manipulated in order to get Gideon to be a "friend she could lean on in her time of trouble." What Corrine was doing was step one of chasing Gideon again.  You wrote: I think that leaving the relationship, entering another one (getting married) and physically separating herself from Gideon would have given Corinne the opportunity to gain some perspective on her relationship with Gideon. My point: see above. The only "perspective" she gained was NO perspective at all. She decided the biggest mistake she ever made was walking away. She figured (correctly) she had blown it years ago when she attempted to manipulate Gideon into chasing her instead. And instead of accepting that fact, she decided to back track by chasing Gideon all over again.  You wrote: She had several years to think about what happened during their relationship then and now. My point: all she thought about "then" is how she did the wrong thing. All she's thinking about "now" is how to do the "right" thing again -- chase Gideon. That's what "worked" all those years ago. She bet that's what would work still. You wrote: I don’t think that is realistic. Time always gives a person the opportunity to learn and to grow. My point: this is never always true. Just the opposite is true for people who stay stuck. And staying stuck is EXACTLY what happened with Corrine.  You wrote: I think that Corinne jumping back into a relationship with Gideon is what will screw her up again. Not the other way around. My point: Oh h*** yes. That's the actual sad reality. Corrine came back to New York every bit as much messed up as when she left, and immediately did something crazy: chased Gideon in a very dramatic way -- in public no less. Crashed a fundraiser where he was certain to be with his new serious girlfriend. And upon finding out she'd blindsided the girlfriend in a horrible way, a girlfriend very insecure and jealous, did Corrine do the right thing by leaving? Oh no. Just the opposite. She monopolized Gideon right in front of Eva. For a brief time sat there in triumph at the dinner table, where he spent the entire meal talking only to Corrine. Other than to hold Eva's hand, he utterly ignored Eva, and everyone could see Eva was miserable. My God, what gossip would have come out of that dinner crowd. Rather than make any effort to include Eva in the conversation, Corrine cleverly steered her conversation to talking about special places she and Gideon used to go.  Here's the CRUCIAL part -- just when Corrine thought she had triumphed spectacularly when Eva ran away, something shattering happened instead. Gideon dropped Corrine like a hot potato and chased after Eva. Figuratively and literally. After only a few weeks of dating him, Eva prompted Gideon to do the very thing Corrine had desperately failed to get him to do after three years of trying -- figuratively (and literally here) chase her (Eva, not Corrine.)  On the spot, something broke further inside Corrine. In under three minutes came more damage to Corrine than three years combined. So literally overnight, she changed from a basically good person to a deliberately desperate calculating b**** set out to destroy the true love Gideon had found. You wrote: If Gideon is in fact using Corinne then I think that he will be directly responsible for bringing up all of her old insecurities in a very cruel way. My point EXACTLY. He IS using Corrine and it IS cruel. And for almost three straight weeks, Gideon had been FAR MORE cruel to Eva herself by very calculatedly hurting her. Deliberately putting her through utter h*** -- and then letting her stay there (because now it was too late to do anything about it) believing rape pictures of her caused Gideon to turn away from her body in disgust. After a shattered Eva called him that Saturday morning, did he corner Eva in an elevator on Monday? Nope. Not until an interview Brett gave hit the Internet telling the world he reconnected with Eva and was seeking another shot did Gideon do something. And that something wasn't to undo the cruelty. It was simply to try to manipulate Eva into, without giving her any good reason why, "wait". WAIT? Why should Eva? Oh yeah, because Corrine had. For years. Like Magdalene? Yeah, Magdalene waited too while Gideon f***** other women. He expected Eva to wait as well? That was cruel. He was still counting on the cops going away any day now -- and that just wasn't happening. The only thing that had happened was Gideon panicked over the thought that as soon as Brett could, he was gonna come running back to New York -- and Eva would turn to Brett yet again, like Eva already had twice because of Corrine.  Gideon, for all his wonderfulness on many levels, still is mostly the f****** up person he's been since childhood. Only very recently has he started -- started -- changing for the better. He's still got a ways to go. Right now, he's still hurting Corrine. But for the fact Eva learned the truth from the cops, he'd be hurting Eva still, leaving her hanging on half-promises while continuing to deliberately lie to her by omission, including continuing to "see" Corrine (because Gideon was still trapped -- the cops hadn't gone away.)  You wrote: Who knows how Corinne will turn out in the next book? My prediction: only June 4 will tell. My guess is that Corrine will start out even more desperate, now that she has figured out Eva didn't fall for the Gideon-Is-F*****-Me attempt -- and -- she believes 100% Gideon still wants no contact with Eva whatsoever. And may I remind everyone Corrine had VERY deliberately played on Eva's insecurities, so she's just as guilty as Gideon. How she ends up: maybe when she finally figures out she has no chance with Gideon (something Magdalene already has managed to do) then Corrine will at last drop the torch -- and at last be able to start moving on.
  12. Â Picking up that phone on the spot and calling Gideon to dump him was a major turning point. Dumping a man who she had every reason to believe at the time was a lying, cheating, coward. Having the courage to walk away instead of crawling on her knees to him, willing to settle for any scrap he'd throw her. That was empowered - to walk away instead of utterly losing herself instead. Â As Magdalene cattily said once, "Once he stuck his d*** in you, he was done" Eva decided on that awful morning "Once he stuck his d*** in Corrine, she was done." Â It was only through the kindness of fate and some courage on his part that Gideon managed to stop Eva from continuing on a path she had already begun walking -- toward a future life that no longer included him.
  13. Classic case of you don't know what you had until it's gone. Â Does Brett love Eva with all his heart? No. Does what he feel even come close to -- would ever come close to -- what Gideon feels for Eva? No. But without even realizing it at the time, Brett definitely had "fallen" for Eva. She captured a part of his heart that years later is still beating. By the time the idiot figured it out though, it was too late -- Eva was long gone, having pulled a runner and vanished without a trace. Â What Brett and Eva DID have back then was very hot sexual chemistry, definitely. But at the time, he was a self-centered jerk taking the opportunity to f*** lots of women throwing themselves at him. Eva, meanwhile, was a hot mess using sex in a desperate bid to fill a hole inside of her. She herself essentially admitted to Gideon, when they had a chance to talk in North Carolina, she was a recovering s*** Â What exists today on Eva's side:Â some lingering physical attraction (just physical) that she herself is wise enough and self-aware enough to know exists. She's no intention whatsoever of every repeating the mistake of ever acting on it again, like she had when he had a momentary lapse of judgment and kissed Brett. But she knows it's there -- she smart to recognize it instead of trying to blindly fool herself into denying it exists. Â What exists today on Brett's side: strong physical attraction coupled with an emotional attraction he's never gotten over. And a strong desire to fix the huge mistake he made of not having recognized that emotional attraction back then when he had Eva. He really wants a shot at being able to go out with Eva, truly get to know her beyond the bedroom (or bathroom stall or car backseat). He'd like to try to be a serious boyfriend and see if that emotional attachment can grow into love. Â Not that Brett and Eva would have ever worked years ago, even if he wasn't such an idiot. Eva was a total basket case quite frankly incapable of a healthy relationship. Years of therapy helped change that, but today it is still a miracle her issues didn't completely destroy the true love she had with Gideon. Her issues repeatedly brought the relationship almost to the brink of utter failure. Gideon's too, They've managed to hold on despite that because they're doing for one another the thing they were never willing to do for either Brett or Corrine -- fight for the relationship. Â Nor would Brett and Eva had worked out today if it had in fact been true the awful thing Eva falsely believed: Gideon had rejected her sexually and had surrendered to the hold Corrine always had over him. Eva would not have run to Brett as Mr. Rebound. She'd have spent a long time getting over Gideon, and then she'd work up the courage to try to find love again, blessing the memory of Gideon having taught her for only a little while what it is like when love is wonderful.
  14. Â You'll scream AGHHHHHH if you come to find out on, say June 8, that Monica killed Gideon and I'd have known it before sundown on June 4. All those days you missed being able to say HAH!!!! to me. And all those days of me being able to say, "Whew!!! Another day spared from GiGi jumping all over me saying 'Told you so!!'"
  15. We all know the REAL story about how much Gideon and Eva are in love and always have been. And for a short time, people close to them personally and professionally knew. As for strangers, Eva looked like nothing more than a couple of weeks of newly-in- before she just disappeared. Â But Gideon's never been the sort of guy to run around shouting stuff from the rooftops. Quite the opposite, he's a very closed-off individual. The only people who have been able to get even a true glimpse have been Angus and Cary. Monica plus Gideon's assistant, Scott, will have seen plenty as well, though not the open pawing that Angus and Cary saw (and the sex Cary overheard.) Eva's boss Mark will have heard a lot (before things fell apart, that was.) And for a couple of hours the night of the concert, before it all went to , Arnoldo got a look at how much Gideon loved Eva. Â That's it. The public image of Gideon and Eva (i.e. photos) have all been very carefully staged by Gideon. And it was just for a couple of weeks at the start of the relationship. Then Gideon removed Eva from public view (for her own safety). Three weeks ago, Gideon started acting cold and distant to Eva in front of other people even in private. Then he quit having anything to do with Eva period (until the last three days of Reflected, when he finally started to crack and take dangerous chances.) Â Eva herself and everyone close to her believed falsely Gideon rejected her. With the possible exception of Angus, Gideon would have quit even saying Eva's name to the people around him. And the only thing the public had to go on were a few photos of them brand new dating hot-for-one another. Then Eva utterly vanished, nearly as quickly as she appeared. Now she's out of Gideon's life completely -- public eye, in professional circles, even in the privacy of people closest to Eva.Â
  16. Â From page 283 of Reflected, the description of the photo of Gideon and Corrine at the vodka PR party. "He had his arm around her waist, and their body language was familiar and intimate. He was very close to her, his lips nearly touching her temple. She had a drink in her hand and was laughing."Who is NOT going to read into that, especially knowing they used to be engaged years ago. that fact was out there for days now. Â The caption to the photo is very bland, as is the story. Because it was all a press release very carefully written by Gideon to make absolutely certain of just two things, for the benefit of the police: the hours of the party, and the name of the woman. And remember, WHO picked that particular wed page to show Eva? Her Dad. It was probably the only "tame" caption and photo out there. Victor wouldn't have been cruel to show Eva anything supposedly "proving" Gideon was cheating, but the reason Victor was showing Eva it was that photo proved Gideon actually did have something to hide about where he was Thursday night. All Victor was doing was trying to gently figure out whether Eva had a clue. Â Back on Tuesday morning, there had been sensational speculation stories all because of Gideon and Corrine sitting at a restaurant table. One can only imagine how other media were interpretting the party photo. Eva never looked any further that that one web page her Dad showed her. On the spot, she quit looking at any more stories/photos of Gideon, period.Â
  17. Â For now, Gideon is stuck with having to "trust" Eva as far as Brett goes. Eva has got to on her own prove to Brett that he (Brett) does not have a chance. Gideon has got to trust that no matter what Brett says or what Brett does to try to convince Eva otherwise, Eva is not even going to kiss Brett again, let alone become lovers again. Â I posted this before, but it's worth mentioning again. Gideon asked Eva to blindly trust him about Corrine even while he was lying by omission to Eva and acting in a way that gave her every good reason to NOT trust him. But in the end and ON HER OWN, while Gideon was still being totally dishonest in his actions, Eva faced her own demons and convinced herself Gideon wouldn't ever sleep with Corrine. Now Gideon must give Eva the same sort of trust in return. Something that is going to be both easier AND harder. Easier because Gideon and Eva can now be 100% honest -- no more lying by omission to hide the fact Gideon killed Nathan. Harder because Gideon knows on one level Eva wants to jump Brett's bones, so Gideon has to trust that Eva won't ever give in to that temptation.
  18. Â The only passionate pictures were that stagged kissing-Eva-shot plus a couple of cell-phone candids people got of Eva and Gideon arguing in Bryant Park. The first week they went out, period. The only others were red carpet shots of them walking into the advocacy dinner (when it took everything for Eva to smile while Gideon was hiding the fact he was on a major headtrip) and the red carpet shot of them walking into the fundraiser at the Waldorf. I'll bet that picture probably showed some chemistry. But guess what, right inside waiting was "Hello, I'm Back!!!!" Corrine. Gideon was never photographed with Eva again. Â Anyone looking at the stock of past pictures of Gideon with Eva could assume he fell in total l-u-s-t with Eva but then quickly tired of her once they started sleeping together. There probably have been rumors from time to time (perfectly true at that) when Gideon started sleeping with some woman, he quickly tired of her. As Magdalene put it, once Gideon sticks his d*** in a woman, he's done with her. In the past, that's EXACTLY what had been true. Â No one would know behind the scenes it was Nathan to blame -- as soon as Nathan showed up, Gideon immediately quit allowing people to photograph Eva.
  19. Â I'll bet Gideon actually called up Corrine furious about the "nooner" incident. Less than twelve hours before, Corrine crashed a fundraiser in order to catch Gideon off guard on a date with Eva. Gideon went out of his way that night to try to ensure Corrine wouldn't upset Eva. Didn't work, and Eva ended up pulling yet another one of her terrifying "runners." It took everything Gideon had to calm Eva down that night. The very next day, Eva ended up more upset than ever, thanks to what Corrine did (and Eva described in great detail exactly how Corrine appeared and behaved walking out that door with Eva out there on the sidewalk.) Â Just because Gideon didn't say "Eva, I called Corrine and chewed her out and it will never happen again" does not mean Gideon didn't lift a finger. All it means is YET AGAIN Gideon avoided having an honest discussion with Eva about something. Unless Gideon is absolutely forced to, he avoids talking about stuff. THAT is the biggest problem of all Eva had with him. Â But yet, weeks later, Gideon can't even admit he has direct contact with Eva. So Corrine can pull any stunt she dares, believing falsely it wouldn't ever get back to Gideon.Â
  20. Â Gideon picked that fight with Brett over jealous rage, period. That fight happened well before Gideon had any reason to believe Nathan was anything other than a blackmailing rapist. It wasn't until days after that fight that Gideon learned to his horror Nathan was in fact an out-of-control nut headed toward homicidal maniac. Â The Brett fight was never part of the original plan any more than the North Carolina weekend away was part of the plan. Sylvia told us in response to a spoiler question that the whole change in plan toward Nathan happened AFTER Gideon got home from North Carolina and found out what really had happened to Cary. Â That said, Gideon would have gone over in his mind everything that other people knew -- or thought they knew -- about him and Eva as he best figured out how to pull off a credible act he didn't love Eva. I'll bet the "Brett Option" was one of several Gideon considered, along with the one he ended up going with, the "Corrine Came Back To Me Option." Â Dumb, dumb, dumb. Weeks later, Gideon is now still trapped. The cops did not, in fact, just swallow the Corrine fabrication and cross Gideon right off the list of suspects.
  21. Â Brett's had three-plus weeks now to figure out that nothing further will come from Gideon Cross over Eva. Gideon lost his temper on the spot, but that was it. He dumped Eva and he didn't do a thing to punish the band. He's already got another serious girlfriend, in fact the woman he wanted to marry who has now come back to him. Gideon may have lost his temper, but once he cooled down, he remembered he's a smart businessman. He's not going to mess with the success of a now-hot band purely because he's still mad over something that happened weeks ago over some woman he hadn't even been dating very long to begin with. Â Don't confuse how Gideon really feels with how Gideon is really forced to act right now.
  22. Ladies, ladies, ladies --- an important reminder here. The public "reality" is this: Â Gideon Cross does not give a about Eva Tramell. She was some socialite he started dating at the start of the summer, but weeks ago she vanished from the red carpet spotlight, and for at least -- at least -- the past three weeks, the only woman publicly linked to Gideon Cross is his former fiancee who he is obviously dating again. You can ask anyone -- heck, you can ask Eva herself, and she'll say they're over. You can ask Gideon whether it's true he's dating Corrine. He won't come out and actually confirm it, but he's not denying it either. And pictures are worth a thousand words. Oh and ask Gideon about Eva? He flatly refuses to even talk about her. Â No one has any reason as all to fear any sort of retribution from Gideon where Eva is concerned. Â Brett worried? If Gideon was going to take revenge on Brett, he's have done it weeks ago. Other than losing his temper on the spot with Brett, Gideon hasn't done jack to Six-Ninths. Nope. Instead, he dumped Eva. The relationship hadn't lasted very long anyway. But meanwhile, a woman who once broke off an engagement with Gideon is now throwing herself at him. (Gideon can't do anything to Brett or the band, because that might imply he actually cares about Eva.) Christopher Jr. worried about Gideon retaliating if Christopher starts chasing Eva? Heck no, Gideon won't lift a finger, not openly anyway. (Gideon can't do anything direct that might make it possible for Christopher to testify in court Gideon loves Eva.)Â Corrine? Yeah, well Eva didn't exactly fall for those dirty tricks. But guess what -- Gideon still has absolutely zero contact with Eva. So Corrine can continue to get even nastier, knowing Gideon won't find out. (Gideon can't lead Corrine to even think he's talking to Eva, much less then he plans to go back to Eva.) Through his own stupid grand plan that has blown up in his face a couple of ways, Gideon has painted himself into a corner where he cannot lift a finger to anyone else where Eva is concerned. In fact, it's more dangerous than ever, because Gideon actually did lift a finger on Eva's behalf in front of one of his worst enemies, Dr. Terry Lucas. Now more than ever, Gideon has got to behave like he could care less about what anyone says or does regarding Eva.
  23. Â No spidey senses. But honestly, I know how cops actually work. And prosecutors too. And especially how cops and prosecutors manage to s**** up too, just like other people. Some posters think "oh the cops would never lie to Eva" or "a prosecutor wouldn't dare even think about maybe charging Gideon." Â Just because they "shouldn't" (because it would be wrong to try it) does not mean they "wouldn't"
  24. Â Gideon would never imply Eva was a cheater. But the tabloids would blow the story about the kiss & fight way out of proportion, just like they blew totally out of proportion Gideon taking Corrine out to dinner (screaming headlines ex-fiancee!!!!!) Â In the end, Gideon could decide to give Eva a second chance. Especially because the fact that Brett Kline is now openly wooing Eva made Gideon reconsider his decision to dump Eva in a jealous rage. Â Gideon would hate to have Eva's name smeared, and he certainly would hate anything that might encourage Brett to pursue Eva. But guess what -- because Gideon's grand plan with Corrine didn't make the cops go away, now weeks later he's still stuck acting like he chose Corrine over Eva. So now Brett believes anyway Gideon is gone from Eva's life completely. Â If it would guarantee the cops would finally back down, Eva would tell Gideon "We have to do it. We have to give the cops a better lie than the Corrine one, because the Corrine one didn't work." Â I think that all along, Gideon had the kiss & fight incident as an emergency back-up. Why do you think that the day he found out Nathan was the one who almost beat Cary to death, and Gideon began to scramble with his cover story, that he took Corrine to Tableau One? When he could have gotten a table for two at any restaurant in the city? He picked Tableau One because his old friend Arnoldo owned it? Â NO .... he picked Tableau One because he'd started out Friday night there on a big date night with Eva, plans that included Arnoldo coming along with Gideon, Eva and a friend of hers to see Six-Ninths in concert. A night that turned out to be a complete disaster, with Arnoldo witnessing everything from the fight itself to Gideon having Eva hauled off in shame by Angus and Arnoldo himself. If it ever came down to the cops running around asking hard questions right after the body was found, Arnoldo could give them an earful about why Gideon would have been the last guy on earth that week who would have killed a man over Eva.
  25. Â Brett has nothing to lose and everything to possibly gain by now openly declaring to the world now that Eva is Golden and he wants to win her back (well, as long as me makes sure the part of about how she used to be a s*** back in the day.) Because Gideon Cross dumped her weeks ago and has been running around acting like he doesn't give a d*** about her anymore. Â In fact, after he dumped Eva, he started seeing someone else -- his ex fiancee no less, who came running back all the way from France to talk him into giving her a chance to undo the biggest mistake of her life, having broken off her engagement to Gideon years ago. Â THIS is the "tabloid reality" >>>>>>> Â Right in front of a high society crowd several week ago, Corrine crashed a fundraiser and literally stole Gideon right out from under Eva's nose. Before the night was out, Eva stormed out of the dinner. That night was the last night Gideon Cross was ever photographed with Eva Tramell. Besides, he'd only been seeing Eva a few weeks. Corrine came back, Eva vanished from public view, and then after a couple of more weeks, Gideon started being photographed with Corrine, even photographed partying with her, his arm around her waist. Â THIS is "Brett's reality" >>>>> Three weeks ago, a dream came true - Eva went to see him in concert, and he ended up getting her to kiss him -- really kiss him -- after the show. Then her boyfriend at the time, Gideon Cross, tried to kick his a**. As for Eva, Gideon had his bodyguard/driver get her out of his sight. A couple of days later, he tracked Eva down at work, and she took him out to lunch. He had a chance to finally find out what he did wrong that made her disappear years ago. And asked her for another chance. She accepted his apology, but she told him he didn't have another shot (yeah, if that's really true, why did she kiss him like that.) She also said she was in love with Gideon. (yeah, but that very week, Gideon started seeing his ex fiancee again -- and it's still crystal clear he wants nothing to do with Eva ever again.)
