The New Entwined Clues Sylvia Is Posting

I'll bet 20 minutes tops is all Corrine ever got out of Gideon. One good s**** in the hotel bed, then send her on her way with his old stand-by excuse of "classes in the morning" so they wouldn't spend the night together. With Corrine, it was only sex. And poor Corrine never got the benefit of the considerable sexual skills Gideon later developed -- he was completely inexperienced with women prior to her.  With later sex partners, none of whom lasted, Gideon probably just called one up when he needed to blow off some steam. Never would he curl up with any of those women for hours. It was during these years too that Gideon learned, through having different women, the various ways to pleasure women. Make sure each of them came first, then he'd come himself. Maybe even have a second go-round if he was feeling extra h**** then send them on their way. Who were they to complain when he left, or had them leave, the hotel soon once he was done. He'd certainly have shown them a good time.  So it was true in a way when Gideon told Dr. Petersen he'd had more sex with Eva than in the prior two years combined. Because he was spending hours upon hours in bed with her, and even that wasn't enough. If Gideon could have had his way, every day and night would be like North Carolina -- just Eva without any clothes and without any outside distractions from the rest of the world. -
Here's a scenario about how Gideon, Monica and Stanton would have all ended up cooperating on the issue of Nathan separately attempting to blackmail them.   My guess is Nathan approached Gideon first with the photos. Gideon punched him, threatened him, and then immediately put people to work to start finding out where Nathan had the originals stashed. When Nathan didn't immediately get money from Gideon, as plan B, he approached Stanton and/or Monica. Initially, they kept it quiet, Monica absolutely terrified that the photos could ruin Eva socially forever. When Monica spotted Nathan outside the Crossfire, she called Gideon, afraid for Eva's physical safety, demanding Gideon do something to protect Eva at work. She may or may not have told Gideon -- yet -- about the photos. I think it was at that point that Gideon brought Monica and Stanton into the loop and made them aware of what Nathan was trying to do -- and about what progress he (Gideon) had made on his people investigating Nathan and tracking possible hiding places for the material. In turn, Monica and Stanton confided to Gideon about what Nathan had been attempting with them. Monica offered help in any way she could on piecing together Nathan's history right on up to the point where Nathan had been caught. It's possible Monica might have even offered help in contacting Nathan's father, if needed, to help piece together Nathan's life during the 8-year gap between when Eva/Monica last saw him in a courtroom and the present day. The three of stayed in constant contact about Nathan, but Gideon took over the lead with what he he had been planning (at that time) to make sure Nathan stayed away from Eva and to ensure (by getting the originals and all copies of the photos/video) that Nathan would never be able to hurt Eva with that material. It's just a little "too convenient" that Nathan, disinherited from his rich father and obviously needing money, ended up staying at one of Gideon's hotels in Manhattan. Gideon owns luxury properties, not cheap hotels, and only a rich person would be able to afford to stay at one for weeks. I think Gideon put Stanton up to throwing Nathan a financial bone by telling Nathan he (Stanton) would move him into a nice hotel while thinking over his demands. The hotel was owned by a subsidiary of Cross Industries, not Cross directly, so the ownership wouldn't make Nathan suspicious. This move, which made it much easier to track Nathan, would have appeased Monica on top of other measures Gideon already had in place to keep an eye on Eva.

How's this for a possible scenario of how Elizabeth and Corrine could join forces against Eva early in Entwined. Keep in mind that neither woman has anything to lose with Gideon by attacking Eva behind his back. As far as everyone still knows, Gideon threw Eva out of his life forever weeks ago. They have no idea Gideon and Eva are secretly back together again.  Throwing out some kooky theories for fun and chatter:  Christopher Jr. was at the nightclub on Saturday night when Eva attacked his mother outside the ladies room. Elizabeth would have come back from that ladies room trip shaking with anger. Even if she didn't tell her son what Eva said, Christopher is going to know Eva somehow went after his mother. Sometime soon after, Corrine gossips to Christopher that Eva harassed her (Corrine) by showing up unannounced early Tuesday morning at her apartment. Corrine would lie through her teeth, obviously, about what was said. She'd paint Eva as some crazed ex of Gideon's who can't get past the fact Gideon rejected her (Eva) and is now seeing Corrine. In return, Christopher gossips to Corrine about Eva running into him and his parents on Saturday night and that Eva pulled some sort of crazy stunt by going after Gideon's mother. Then Christopher immediately turns around and tells his mother about Eva going after Corrine too. Maybe to both women, Christopher puts some sort of crazy spin on Eva having come to the Vidal's garden party that day in order to lure Gideon into having wild sex with her in the middle of the party. After all, Christopher did walk in on the pair of them too. And Eva had originally been there as Christopher's guest. Corrine and Elizabeth connect and start telling one another half-truths and flat out lies about Gideon's crazy ex. Elizabeth starts plotting about how to do something to Eva to make Eva sorry she ever harassed them to begin with -- and by the time they're done with Eva, she won't ever do it again. Meanwhile, Christopher continues to agitate things too -- what fun!!! Trying to make it look like an ex of Gideon's is going all Fatal Attraction or something. Maybe he'll even try twisting Gideon's tail himself that he (Christopher) has been hearing crazy things about Eva. And that kah-ray-zee Eva is now chasing him (Christopher) -- she took him out to lunch. We do have a snippet in which Gideon is trying (unsuccessfully) to tell Eva to back off -- that Gideon can fight his own battles. What if that battle is his own family going after Eva. If nothing else, this conversation between Gideon and Eva could open the door for him to be able to talk honestly with Eva about some family stuff past and present.  Remember -- Elizabeth has very good reason to discredit Eva as some nutjob. Because Eva figured out something about the sexual abuse accusations all those years ago. And Eva is threatening Dr. Lucas, who somehow was involved, that Eva's not going to let the matter rest. Meanwhile, Corrine has equally good reason to make things hard for Eva -- Corrine needs to do anything she can to make sure Eva stays gone for good from Gideon's life.

The more I think about it, GiGi, the more I'm convinced that as far as the blackmail was concerned, Gideon was working with Stanton and Monica on that, probably taking the lead (given his resources, including lots of security experts) in tracking down the originals.

I wonder whether Cary knew Gideon spent the night. It's been less than a month since the attack, and Cary is still actively recuperating, so chances are he was home the night Gideon snuck in to be with Eva.  More importantly, I wonder how much Eva is going to tell Cary at first -- how much Eva is going to tell Monica and Stanton too at first. And whether Eva is even going to tell her Dad before he finds out stuff on his own.  Obviously, the case touches them all. Yet the more people who know about Gideon and Eva, the greater the risks are. The smart thing to do would be to say as little as possible to anyone else until the pair of them are able to get a better sense of just how clear -- or not clear -- the coast may be. -
Ditto sscrph and AMC. Â I'm convinced Christopher Jr. is going to find out the Eva in the song Golden is Eva Trammell, and Christopher is going to try to exploit that for all it's worth, both for business purposes (great publicity for Vidal Records) and for personal reasons (to twist Gideon's tail.) Â My only question is how is Christopher going to find out. I don't think it would be from Brett himself, because just days before Reflected ended, Brett was very discrete in an interview when asked whether there really was an Eva out there. So other possibilities I can think of: Â Another band member of Six-Ninths. The drummer especially, Darrin, knew Eva back in the day. And the entire band witnessed the fist fight between Gideon and Brett. Cary shooting his mouth off. Perhaps even Eva herself in collusion with Gideon as part of them continuing to manipulate the tabloids to cover their tails. Gideon certainly did a great job of making sure the tabloids got pictures of him and Corrine and made sure they knew exactly who Corrine was. It'd be all too easy for Gideon and Eva to arrange a similar stunt between Eva and Brett. Â Number three is a stretch, because I think Eva would feel guilty about using Brett that way. But if it would help ensure the cops do drop the case against Gideon, Eva would do it. She's already told Brett flat out (at lunch) there's no chance she'd get back together with him.

I hope that after they finish having morning sex, Eva (if she hadn't done so already when they talked last night) gives Gideon the blow-by-blow of what happened two mornings ago when Eva confronted Corrine.  It's important because it was during that fight Eva resolved in her own mind once and for all Gideon had not been sleeping with Corrine. Eva resolved this raging insecurity on her own even before she found out (thanks to Detective Graves) what Gideon's motive had been for "seeing" Corrine. So by telling Gideon this, she can convince him at last she has finally gotten past her insecurity and jealousy problem that had been threatening to tear them apart.  Equally as important, she had done something Gideon had begged her to during those awful weeks - come to  trust him.  It also can be important for Gideon to finally learn just how ruthless Corrine had been in her attempt to destroy Eva's love for him. It'd make it very easy for him, totally guilt free now, to continue to lead Corrine on for as long as he needs to until at last the coast is clear for him to openly go back to Eva. -

Then I'm guessing it could be Snippet 2, which makes a joke about Christmas presents:  Here's the link to the full Snippet 2 -- http://www.sylviaday.com/2012/11/22/entwined-snippet-2/  The part about the joke is below:   (Eva says) "Waking up to you is like… presents on Christmas morning.† His mouth curved. “For your convenience, I’m already unwrapped. Batteries not required.† So they're in bed together. They've already made love repeatedly -- and as the snippet unfolds, they start to go at it again. But Eva's no longer crying nor Gideon shaking as they had been holding one another in the tear-jerker Snippet 9. In #2 they're teasing one another. So the make-up sex has gone very well -- and more importantly, the very serious talk they needed to have went extremely well.  And it would appear Gideon spent the whole night at Eva's. And ... they're having morning sex.  Can't resist some snark here -- Oh, Corrine, Corrine, Corrine, if you only knew, you lying b**** you. Only a couple of days ago, you tried tricking Eva into thinking you'd just finished having 20+ minutes of morning sex with Gideon in your own bed while Eva waited downstairs in your apartment building. Hah!!!!! -

One of the box covers has snowflakes on it -- and the colors are all white, red and green. That's definitely a Christmas present.  An alternative one of Gideon's childhood Christmases might be if Gideon and Eva are having the much-needed talk about what really had gone on with Corrine and with Brett during the three weeks Gideon and Eva were estranged. That's a pretty serious matter that needs clarifying. Only now is Gideon able to honestly talk about Corrine. (Plus, he's finally got the right to ask in return what went on when Eva took Brett out to lunch to get even with Gideon. Because Brett gave an interview saying he'd reconnected with Eva -- exact word.)  We know from snippet number one Gideon and Eva talked about past relationships -- specifically about settling for the wrong people. What if Eva's finally got the freedom to ask Gideon anything she wants about Corrine past and present-day, and Gideon at last will tell Eva anything she wants to know. The honest truth. Because at least in the Corrine department, Eva will finally believe what Gideon tells her. She trusts him at last as far as Corrine goes. Plus Gideon now knows he can honestly talk to Eva about everything -- she's not going to run ever again, even if what she hears is upsetting.  What if Gideon's talking about back years ago when he'd agree to settle for marrying Corrine. Christmas is an especially popular time to get engaged. Given that it was Corrine who popped the question, it could have been then. Maybe Eva's asking about both back then and about Corrine's present-day position in Gideon's family, now that Corrine has wormed her way back into Gideon's life as (all the world would be led to believe, probably Corrine most of all) his girlfriend once again and his future wife.  Can we please get Corrine out of the way in Chapter 2 -- settle on Gideon and Eva together deciding how Gideon will continue to use Corrine for now as his public cover while he and Eva have their secret love affair.  Agh!!!! I can't say "present-day" without making a pun about Christmas Day. -

Here it is -- snapshot number two, posted to Facebook a little over 15 minutes ago:  http://www.sylviaday.com/2013/03/22/entwined-snapshot-2/  It's about Chapter Two, and the picture is of an opened Christmas gift.  Bared and Reflected both take place during the summer, and we know Entwined picks up right where Reflected left off. So I doubt there's any way we've skipped right to present-day Christmas (no pun intended.)  My guess is Chapter Two is the start of looking back in detail to Gideon's childhood, with a particular Christmas season being pivotal. Was it the year he was 5 and his father killed himself? Was it when he was around age 10-11 and he was sexually abused? -
And something just occurred to me -- near the end of Reflected, Eva made an enemy of Elizabeth. I'll willing to bet this is going to cause Elizabeth to ally herself with Corrine in trying to ensure Eva stays gone from Gideon's life. Elizabeth would never tell Corrine what the fight was about, but she'd most let Corrine know she hates Eva. Besides Eva has given both Elizabeth and Corrine good reason to hate her. With Elizabeth, the feeling is mutual because of the damage Elizabeth caused by refusing to believe Gideon as a child. With Corrine, Eva mostly feels sorry for her now, but if Corrine turns even nastier, Eva's pity will evaporate along with Gideon's guilt toward Corrine.Â

Today's Friday -- which means we're due for snapshot # 2. Plus, we're getting a new snippet sometime soon. Yesterday, Sylvia announced on Facebook:  I'm leaving today for my book tour in France with Editions J'ai Lu, and I'll be gone the rest of this week and next. I have snapshots and a snippet scheduled to post while I'm gone. I hope you enjoy them! Au revoir. -
Regarding Christopher Jr. and Eva, it'd be great if he did try to jump Eva's bones literally by grabbing her. Eva has all those Krav Maga moves now. And Eva most certainly, because of her past with Nathan, would be seriously triggered by Christopher touching her in a way meant to be sexual. Â She'd seriously kick Christopher's a** -- and would walk away feeling empowered she now has the physical skills to make sure that never again can any male so much as lay a finger on her without her consent.

Magdalene is close to the Vidal family and has been for many years and has known Gideon a long time. Bottom of page 25 and top of page 26 in Reflected, where Magdalene has called Eva the morning after Eva met Corrine. "Gideon and I have known each other a long time. Our mothers are best friends. You and I will see each other around, Eva, and I'm hoping we can find a way to avoid any awkwardness."  Gideon was (still is) somewhat estranged from his family, but the estrangement isn't absolute. By the time the engagement was official, the Vidals would have met Corrine, and so would have the Vidals close friends, including the Perez family (Magdalene's family.)  This coupled with Magdalene hanging around with Corrine the night before and Magdalene's knowledge about the past engagement, especially how it ended, leads me to believe she most definitely knew Corrine back in the day.  It would make perfect sense for Corrine to reconnect with the Vidals now as part of her plan to do what she ought to have done years ago -- marry Gideon. This would bring Corrine into present-day contact with Christopher Jr. (who had only been a teenager back then but is now in his early 20s.)  Besides, Christopher already has a nasty habit of approaching Gideon's women whenever possible -- look at how he repeatedly has approached Eva in both novels. The first night, Christopher flat-out asked Eva what the status was between her and Gideon -- and Christopher immediately came on to Eva. Then somehow Christopher found out about the first estrangement between Eva and Gideon (that four-day stretch after Eva found out about Gideon's nightmares.) That's when Christopher talked Eva into attending the garden party at the Vidal estate.  So I'm convinced beyond all doubt there is present day contact between Corrine and Christopher -- and that Christopher is taking every opportunity he can to see Corrine.  Oh Christopher most certainly is frequently checking on the status between Corrine and Gideon, just like he used to do with Eva and Gideon. Looking for any sort of opening that weasel could get with Corrine. I get the sense as part of Christopher's all-consuming jealousy of Gideon is being jealous of the fact Gideon is surrounded by beautiful women in love with him.  I can totally see Creepy Christopher going after the woman people are assuming Gideon is going to marry. Not to mention trying to seduce the hottie Gideon had been f***** in his parents' library, now that she'd been thrown onto the discard pile.

Good morning, sscrph!!! So good to have yet another person go from guest reader to active member. Â The incident with Brett happened after the concert in an alley outside the club, near the stage door where the band's buses were parked. The audience never saw it. However, as the fight progressed, it drew attention from people backstage. The fight starts on page 163 in Reflected -- it definitely mentions Brett's fellow band members as having poured into the alley, ready to brawl -- until they saw who Brett was fighting with, "the man with the money behind their record label." Â The two people who had come to the concert with Gideon and Eva -- Gideon's old friend Arnoldo and Eva's new friend Shawna -- also had been backstage, meeting the band, when the fight erupted just outside, and they too came out. Angus showed up too -- Gideon's limo was parked in the alley. Angus and Arnoldo forcibly took Eva away in the limo. Â Thus far, Brett's been very discrete that while there really is an Eva out there (he confirmed this in a radio interview about three weeks later) he hasn't publicly confirmed the woman is "Eva Trammel." Â That said, however, I'm certain it's going to get out in Entwined who the woman in "Golden" is. Then with a little digging (such as asking Brett's band members) it's going to come out Eva had been a groupie sleeping with Brett years ago back in San Diego, before the band (and before Eva herself) became famous. The tabloids are going to have a field day.
-
GiGi,  It had been only three weeks that Gideon had resumed taking Corrine "out." She'd still have been more than willing to take things slow with Gideon, especially if by subtle signs she was being manipulated into thinking they were making slow by steady progress.  I know the community here is split on how Gideon was handling her (honesty they were just friends) or calculated manipulation (they were going somewhere.) I definitely believe the latter -- because EVERYTHING  was riding on the lie, and the cops had NOT simply gone away.  As the pressure of the ongoing murder investigation continued to mount, Gideon would continue to slowly "move things along" with Corrine. He needed to get the cops to go away, so he needed Corrine going around telling people they were back together. (What, Corrine lie about her status with Gideon -- not her.)  The fact she'd go around letting people know Gideon was "seeing" her again and Gideon was NOT denying that to anyone would fool Corrine into believing it was true. Didn't matter they weren't sleeping together -- YET. For weeks now, Corrine was the only woman Gideon was taking out, and it was apparent he'd definitely left Eva.  Remember, when Christopher had lunch with Eva near the very end of Entwined, he said " .... Gideon getting back together with Corrine." I'm certain Christopher would have been asking Corrine what the deal was and would have been trying to wheedle stuff out of Gideon too. Corrine would be making claims she believed were true, and Gideon (in true Gideon fashion) would brush off the questions -- by doing so, lying by omission that it was true he was "seeing" Corrine again. They were "back together."
-
It was true that in a way, Gideon was taking a "break" from Eva. So if he told Corrine that, it wouldn't be lying. Gideon could refuse to talk about why (what Gideon, refuse to answer questions, not him, ha, ha.) But Corrine could find out from Arnoldo what happened with Brett. Knowing herself from many years ago how possessive Gideon is, Corrine would naturally conclude Eva destroyed what she had with Gideon by "cheating" on him.  Three weeks later, he was still "seeing" Corrine and Eva was still gone. I'll bet Corrine fooled herself into thinking that by then, "break" really meant "break up" because Gideon had now had plenty of time to think about it and decided he was finished with Eva forever. Especially because he had another option, Corrine telling him she still loved him and had left her husband to come back to Gideon.  Corrine was right, during the fight with Eva, that she (Corrine) knew for a fact Gideon wasn't seeing Eva at all. Corrine claimed Gideon was spending all his free time with her. I'm taking the "all" with a grain of salt -- this is Corrine, who is still trying to make Eva jealous and thus has every reason to over-inflate that. However, Corrine was spending enough time with Gideon to know for a fact he wasn't seeing Eva anymore. Corrine was 100% right when she threw that back into Eva's face.Â

Nathan managed to stash that original material somehow as a teenager, because he still had it. A bank box makes the most sense if the material is stored on a small electronic storage device (or devices) - such as photo disc, CD/DVDs, a flash drive. If it's been transferred to something larger, like the hard drive of a laptop, then some sort of small storage locker is a possibility.  I think he'd probably loaded the original copies onto a laptop and made some back-up copies for safety in case anything happened to the computer. He needed a device to make copies, such as the ones he showed Gideon and Stanton. A computer would do it -- everything from making electronic copies to plugging the computer to a photo printer in order to make hard copies of photographs. Plus, if he wanted to leak the material, he could go with the laptop to some WiFi place, connect to the Internet there, and email the stuff.  It would have been foolish for him to keep the material near him, such as in the place where he was staying. It'd be too easy for hired "goons" to break in and grab it all, or worse, if the cops got called in, seized under a search warrant. The latter would guarantee a one-way trip to prison for a very long time.  In the meantime, Gideon certainly had the resources to "follow the money" so to speak. Find out how Nathan was paying for some place to hide the originals, be it a bank box or a storage locker. Getting into his financial records even if that meant having some expert hacker get into them. This would uncover the bank(s) he used. Searching Nathan's room for receipts, if he were paying for storage with cash or money orders. Plus the old-fashioned tailing the guy around town hoping Nathan would lead them right to the bank or storage place.  I'm willing to bet that between the time Nathan first showed up with pictures and the time Gideon changed plans because of the attack on Cary, Gideon had been pouring a tremendous amount of time, effort and money into getting his hands on every last original and copy of those images of Eva. Destroy them all and he would forever protect Eva against Nathan ever using that material to hurt her. Then Gideon's way would have been clear to do whatever he originally had been planning in order to get revenge.

^^^ THIS, about Nathan  There's still a lot of wreckage left in Nathan's wake that needs the be cleaned (and wrapped up) in Entwined. -
I believe the reason Monica/Stanton and Gideon all strung Nathan along on the blackmail was to buy time in order to find out where Nathan had the the originals of the child p*** photos and video plus any copies Nathan made. Â He'd never have been foolish enough to take the originals with him to show Monica/Stanton/Gideon. Nor would he have kept the originals on him. But it's highly likely he did bring the originals with him to New York and stashed them somewhere hidden, like a bank deposit box or a rented storage space. Gideon and Stanton had the resources to hire the very best private investigators to find out where Nathan was hiding the stuff. Â Whatever any of his targets had been ultimately planning to do with him, they first needed to make certain they got their hands on every last original and copy. Otherwise, the threat of Nathan exposing Eva would never go away.
-
Hi GiGi  I don't think for a minute that Barker had any hand in the murder. Nor did he approach anyone willingly. The cops most definitely approached him, not the other way around. I had been speculating about possible things he might have known about that he could have shared with the police willingly and may have been persuaded to share with Monica, Stanton and/or Gideon, had any of them approached him earlier to let him know Nathan was trying to blackmail them with child p*** images of Eva.  Of the three, I think Monica is the most likely one who would have approached him, and if there's anyone he would have spoken to, it would have been her. The confidential court settlement had been with Monica herself, so Barker was absolutely free to speak with her, the other party in the settlement. Plus, given what Nathan had done, Barker might have been willing to help Monica anyway he could. Barker still loved Monica when she left him because of what happened to Eva.
-
Barker supposedly disinherited Nathan years ago. But does Barker know about some of the things that Nathan had been up to during the eight year gap between when Eva saw Nathan for the last time in a courtroom and Nathan ending up dead in New York City?  I think Barker might be able to fill in some of the gaps between that time -- and maybe he did just that for Gideon, Stanton, Monica and/or the cops. Among the possible things Barker might have known and revealed to anyone asking recently (cops, Gideon, Stanton, Monica) are:  Did Nathan spend some of those eight years locked up in mental hospitals because was crazy? Had he only recently be released? Had Nathan continued to be suspected of raping other girls/women, but it never went to court (either because the cops couldn't prove it or the victims refused to testify)? Was Nathan somehow incredibly desperate for money and his father was still flatly refusing to give him a penny -- and so this was a big reason why Nathan went to New York to go after Eva's rich mother and even richer boyfriend soon after he learned Eva was in the news for dating a celebrity?
-
Hi KiMa, Â I revived the Gideon's family thread, which had been quiet lately. Folks can head over there to talk all about Gideon's mother Elizabeth, stepfather Christopher Sr., stepbrother Christopher Jr. and Dr. Lucas. All of them are tied somehow to Gideon's dark past that we're going to be learning about in Entwined. And just before Reflected ended, Eva had very serious fights with Elizabeth and Lucas. Plus she took Christopher Jr. to lunch and he's taken that as a sign he can get Eva to go out with him. We can have all sorts of fun talking about them -- and they're totally separate from the whole murder case.
-
We've spent so much time this week talking about Nathan that we've been neglecting Gideon's family. Given that we're going to learn dark stuff about Gideon's history (and thus his family) in Entwined, let's have fun speculating how the Vidals might be behaving as Entwined opens up. Â Recapping the final few days of Reflected as they relate directly to the Vidals: Â Saturday night - Eva went out on the town and ended up at a small club where Elizabeth Vidal, Christopher Jr. and Christopher Sr. were all there. Â Christopher yet again took an the opportunity to hit on Eva by dancing with her. More importantly, Eva seized the opportunity to corner Elizabeth near the ladies room and let Elizabeth have it for having had a very serious role in Gideon being terribly damaged as a child and now suffering horribly as a grown man. Â Sometime prior to Tuesday morning: Elizabeth obviously confronted Gideon about what Eva did on Saturday, because when Gideon talked to Eva on Tuesday, practically the first thing he did was to demand what Eva was up to going around confronting people. "My mother. Corrine. God-d***** Lucas. What the f*** are you doing, Eva?" Â Tuesday morning: Just before Gideon dragged Eva away from Dr. Lucas' office, she had been in there accusing Lucas of having had something to do with the cover-up of the sexual abuse Gideon suffered as a child. During the fight with Elizabeth on Saturday night, Eva had learned Elizabeth had two pediatricians examine Gideon and tell her (Elizabeth) there weren't any signs Gideon was abused. Eva concluded Dr. Lucas had been one of the pediatricians. To his face on Tuesday morning, Eva accused Lucas of having lied to Gideon's mother. More significantly, Eva vowed to find out the truth. Eva made the threat then marched out of his office -- and the both of them discovered Gideon waiting right outside the door. Â Tuesday midday: Eva took Christopher Jr. to lunch. Originally, he too was on her running list of people to confront, but in the end she let him off easy by simply patiently listening while Christopher Jr. told her all about why he hates Gideon. What Eva got out of it was a better understanding of why Christopher does: he's incredibly jealous of Gideon. That lunch ended with Christopher telling Eva he wants to take her out. Â Â Reflected ended on Wednesday evening with Eva on Gideon's doorstep hugging him. So ..... here's some things to throw out for discussion about what might happen in Entwined because of what went down between Saturday night and Tuesday midday: Â What does Christopher Sr. know about Eva's accusations against his wife and Eva's threat against Dr. Lucas? And what steps might Christopher Sr. take? It's safe to say Elizabeth had a fight with Gideon over what Eva did to her. What's Gideon doing about his mother now that Eva has made a sworn enemy of her? What about Christopher Jr.? How much does he know about the fight between Eva and his mother on Saturday? Will he also find out about the fight Eva had with Lucas on Tuesday? Will Corrine tell Christopher about Eva showing up on her doorstep Tuesday morning? And if so, is Corrine going to lie through her teeth about what actually happened between her and Eva? What's Christopher Jr. planning to do in order to try (good luck with that!) getting Eva to go out with him (and obviously to try to seduce her)? Is he going to start trying to mess with Eva's mind over, as Christopher put it, Gideon got " .... back together with Corrine." Â We could have fun with this. And I know some posters are getting tired of all the Nathan talk.Â
-
That said, I wonder if Monica's first husband is someone we're also going to meet in Entwined. The cops did go to talk to him, and if Detective Graves is to be believed, the guy wasn't the least bit sorry Nathan was dead. Why would he be? Nathan raped Mr. Barker's own stepdaughter, someone I'm sure Barker loved since she had been a little girl. Certainly, Barker loved Monica very much and was heartbroken Monica divorced him. Plus Nathan's crimes cost Barker $7 million dollars -- a $2 million dollar divorce settlement with Monica herself plus $5 million dollars in damages paid to Monica on Eva's behalf. Â If Mr. Barker did have anything to do with the recent past, I'm sure Eva (and thus we readers) will find out. Because she is owed very honest explanations from Monica, Stanton and Gideon. The three of them keeping quiet could have gotten her killed, nearly did get Cary killed and almost destroyed her love for Gideon.
