  1. Seriously, though -- Gideon asked Eva to trust him blindly about Corrine back when Gideon was behaving in a way (lying by omission to Eva) that gave Eva every single good reason to NOT trust him. But on her own, facing her own inner demons while Gideon still was lying to her, Eva herself came to trust Gideon wasn't sleeping with Corrine and never would again.

Now Gideon, by his own doing, is forced into a position where he's got to trust Eva about Brett. No matter what Brett tries to say or tries to do to win Eva back, Gideon has got to trust none of it will work. And now Gideon's got the scarier task, because Gideon knows a part of Eva does want to jump Brett's bones, while Eva is safe knowing Gideon doesn't desire Corrine at all.

Great growth opportunity for Gideon to work on his own inner demons about insecurity and jealousy.

Couldn't have said it better myself LN can't wait till June 4th and Book 4 LOL

  2. I agree that Brett could help strengthen Gideon's alibi for the cops. I just don't want the whole book to be about the murder investigation and other people trying to sabotage their relationship. I am hoping the story will move forward with the progression of their relationship. It has already been established that they both have people in their pasts who want them back. But this is about their love story and i am eager for their relationship to blossom. I know that sounded a bit cheesy. LOL. Waiting for this book is driving me crazy.

I totally agree jls but this Brett thing is what will finally get the cops to drop the case so I think it will be short and sweet and by the end of the book hopefully Eva and Gideon will be able to publicly be a couple and be happy .

  3. Hi LN,

I think if Gideon did do it he did it to save Eva too and I'm actually ok with that because I think it was only a matter of time before Nathan got to her. But as far as romance novels go I just have a hard time believing that of our hero. And I do believe there were other victims out there even possibly look-alikes of Eva because Nathan was obsessed with her. He may have even had a current girlfriend who found out about her and was jealous of her who knows ? But if Gideon did not do it, I don't think Monica or Stanton did either and you certainly can't rule out a professional hit . I still think Mr. Barker is a possibility but only June 4th will tell .

  4. I know he ignored her in that meeting, but I'm thinking that Mark was probably the only one who picked up on it. I'm sure everyone else was just focused on the business.  The coffee i definitely think is hers because he takes his black.

Hi jls I totally agree about Mark being the only one to pick up on Eva's humiliation; at least I hope so and there is also a swirl of creme in that coffee so it is definitely Eva's.

  5. How did Gideon explain to Corinne why he didn't want to stay over at the hotel on weekend nights.....no school the next day?

Did Corinne ever ask Gideon about his new ring?  How would he explain that?

I still don't understand the whole sex swing concept?  Perhaps he went to a dom/sub training class early on before college, like Christian Grey in 50 Shades.

After Gideon's fight with Brett, Gideon took off to the Outer Banks with Eva, having no clothes, purse, cell phone and probably no birth control pills. Maybe she'll turn up pregnant early in EWY. It's too soon to tell at this point. Also, how did she get back to Manhattan without her bra, panties, etc?

I need help clearing these topics up.  Thanks to anyone who can help!

Today the next clue is out....chapter 2.  Maybe a snippet, too.

Sylvia said that EWY only takes up the next two weeks in their lives.  But we still haven't heard about the 4th book.  Certainly, EWY can't finish their story if it only covers the next two weeks.

  6. I think Corrine was/is so desperate to have him that she treads lightly. Deep down i think she knows that he is not in love with her. I don't think she would ask about the ring because she doesn't want to admit the truth to herself.

I totally agree with this jls but I also think as I have stated before that Gideon told Corinne upfront that he and Eva were going through a rough patch and taking a break from each other. I think all Gideon wants from Corinne is friendship but that doesn't stop her from hoping for more. As Gideon told Eva he never takes that ring off so it would be in plain view for Corinne to question and she won't ask because she doesn't want to really know deep down. She is in denial.

  7. Hi LN,

I think Brett will enter the story early in Entwined which will surely help Gideon's case because from the short time he and Eva spoke in Reflected he seems very determined to win her back and Eva will not be able to "prove" to Brett that she is in love with Gideon because she is unable to do so and in fact not in Gideon's life at all at the present time.

  8. Gideon's unique ability to get into Nathan's room quickly and quietly, totally catching Nathan off guard, I think is the most convincing argument of all that Gideon stabbed him. He let himself in, stood there in front of the closed door, got Nathan to approach him, then stabbed him.No banging on the door to get let in. No chasing Nathan around that room, which would get overheard. Most of all, no leaving fiber evidence all around that room. The only possible fiber evidence Gideon might have left behind, immediately inside the door, is going to get destroyed by the parade of people later walking in and out of that room -- from the housekeeper who probably found the body to the crew from the medical examiner's office hauling the body away.People are assuming, because Nathan was found just inside the door, that Nathan opened it for his killer. It's very clever of Sylvia to make us assume Nathan opened that door, because there are at least three people he might -- MIGHT -- have been persuaded to do it for. The three who could "show him the money" -- Monica, Stanton, Gideon. But the alternative is this. Gideon got through that door on his own by using a master key. He shut the door and stood there. Then said something to trick Nathan into walking up to him. Something like, "OK, you win -- I'll pay whatever you want." It was Detective Graves' theory that Nathan attacked Cary in order to intimidate Gideon into finally paying the blackmail. He gets Nathan to walk up to him and then -- BAM -- whips out the knife and drives it right into Nathan's heart. Nathan drops to the floor and in under a minute, his heart will have stopped beating forever. Gideon looks out the peephole, makes sure there's no one in the hallway, and slips out of the room.

  9. Gideon didn't have to get Nathan to open his door -- Gideon did it himself with a master key. He owns the place, and a master key (key card, that is) would be all too easy for him to get. Housekeepers use them every day. Hotel management carries them too.

Not only would a master key get Gideon into the room quickly, it would get him in quietly. No need to knock. No need to argue "open the door" if Nathan was refusing to do so.

I totally agree with this that is why I think Monica and Stanton were not involved in this phase of Gideon's plan. I think they were involved from a security standpoint prior to this but that is all. To quote Eva, Gideon has probably been alone all his life. There is no way he would involve outsiders in such a personal undertaking. The only one in Gideon's world is Eva...What do you all think?

  10. Hi LN Cronan, I can't get my smiley face function to work either so if anyone can clue me in please do...And even though I don't write for a living I am somewhat of a spelling nerd also so I take no offense. It is so easy to get carried away in our replies since we are so excited about our topics and to pass the time until June 4th LOL

    Hi MrsCrossfire,

What about the figurative translation of “Christmas in July It is obvious that the boxes and wrappings are Christmas inspired. So the question is which Christmas is it?

I think that any gift from Gideon Cross would be a good gift! :)Oh please dear Sylvia, let those memories be good ones! Fingers crossed here! :)

Hi GiGi, I love your idea about Christmas in July and considering that Gideon's kisses are like gifts according to Eva it is so appropriate not to mention the other incredible skills he possesses!!

  12. Hi LNCronan,

I don’t doubt that Corinne was spending time with Gideon. What I don’t buy is that she would fool herself into thinking that Gideon was enamored with her. Her past experience would have taught her that Gideon wasn’t in love with her to begin with. I couldn’t see Corinne buying the taking “time†to become reacquainted with one another before any kind of intimacy excuse. It would have completely fit Gideon’s old pattern and I don’t think that Corinne would go for it a second time. She left Gideon the first time around because she knew that something wasn’t right between the two of them (even if she wasn’t able to verbalize it or knew how to put it into words).

Hi Gigi, I definitely think that Gideon made it clear to Corinne that their current relationship was simply platonic. After all Corinne said herself that she and Gideon had been friends for a long time so it would only make sense that Gideon would turn to her as a friend during this rough patch with Eva. But that doesn't mean that she of course is hoping that eventually it could turn into something more...

  13. I do think its possible that Carey may contact Brett in some way because he doesn't think Brett is a bad guy and probably thinks at this point that Eva should cut her losses with Gideon and move on to a safer rebound guy such as Brett

  14. Perhaps the first snapshot is of Page Six the gossip column reporting that Gideon Cross and Corinne Giroux are now an item and interjecting Brett into the story by reporting the incident at the concert and Gideon's subsequent break up with Eva Tramell. And it would be about time for Brett to return to the area from his southern concert tour at the perfect time Eva needs him to be her "rebound" man in more ways than one.

  15. It will be interesting to see how Sylvia develops Carey's character in the next book. Carey is already feeling displaced in Eva's life as when he made the statement "is this when you tell me you're moving in with your billionaire boyfriend and I have to go?" That being said, I do think Carey is on team Brett but not for that reason. I think he sees all the heartbreak and angst Eva suffers through in the short time she has dated Gideon and he is only concerned for her sanity! Carey does seem to be gaining the skills he needs to survive in the real world as far as employment goes. His modeling career is going well and he does have other skills such as personal stylist etc that would gain him other employment in New York not to mention his contacts so I do think one day he may be able to support himself without Eva's help. As for his romantic life that's a tough one just because of his bisexuality. So where does that leave Carey when Eva and Gideon marry? What does everyone think?

  16. Hello I think that Gideon told Corinne that he and Eva were taking a break from each other and this is so believable because of the incident that just happened at the concert with Brett witnessed by hundreds of people but most importantly Arnoldo because he would have been the first to see Gideon and Corinne together and assume that Gideon dumped Eva due to the Brett incident making the ruse that much more believable...
