I will be much more relaxed when the Brett issue is out of the way (and I do mean all of it, the sex tape, the ongoing attemps of Brett to win Eva over etc.). I am so afraid that Eva is going to hurt Gideon in some way in the next book. But this is the risk with relationsships always. 

 

Regarding Gideon going to California without contacting EVA. Well, I am still thinking that a tiny part of GIDEON deep down, you know, very deep down in his subconsciousness was a little ###### of the fact that there is a video at all or again a video. And maybe he was asking himself a little little bit if it this video was made with the agreement of EVA! But maybe I am totally wrong here!

He did ask her, she was adamant that she never made it, with her knowledge.

Since I tend to get a little type happy, I will just respond to these few questions.  Questions always help our brain juices flow LOL

 

1.  If Money is what is wanted then there is NO way that Gideon would ever let anyone else buy the tape, simple.  If notoriety is what is wanted I don't think Brett would ever let it out.  Although these kinds of tapes can do amazing (or so they say) things to famous people's career and Brett could definitely benefit from this tape, we have to remember which record company his band is signed to and it would mean a world of trouble, except for from Christopher Jr., for this tape to get out. 

2.  As smart as Eva is, I think part of her is very naive. especially when it comes to men.  She knows that she has told Brett time and time again that she is in love with Gideon and that Brett will not only never get a second chance but that she is just not interested in anything other than being his friend, which she also has said multiple times.  She feels like she has been up front and honest and that there is no way that Brett would think anything other than of her as a friend, so inviting him upstairs should be no big deal.  Where she is naive though is that she should know that although she has been honest and told Brett how she feels, she is not thinking about how he has also told her how he feels and it is NOT the same as her. 

3.  I think Eva's attraction now is similar to how any of us would look at someone famous (IE: Henry Cavill) and talk about how hot he is, how his muscles make us drool, etc. you get the point.  However we would never do anything about it because we have a spouse (or whomever) in our lives and that is just "someone fun to look at."  I think for Eva, she likes Brett and wants him as a friend but she is committed and adores Gideon.

4.  I REALLY hope that the little mistake of Momica cheating on Stanton with Victor was a one time momentary mistake.  I like the two of them, but not together.  In previous posts I have posted many questions, thoughts, ideas, etc. about Monica's life prior to the start of the books.  If anything I hope this mistake will allow for some communication between them in a positive light, their daughter is getting married, maybe at some point they will be grandparents.  There is obviously love between them, maybe they can make it a positive thing.

That is a very good analogy of the situation regarding Brett. Eva remembers how Brett used to be, how sexy he was and still is. Eva is a very likeable young woman, she just wants to be friends.

We have all drooled over Henry or any guy that is hot and handsome. Men do the same, it's human nature to admire someone beautiful, but we don't necessarily, if we have a partner want to take them to bed.

I Am sorry but have you seen these questions I do have and posted earlier? I really want to know your opinions!

 

1. First I was astonished that the fact that Gideon killed Nathan didn´t cause more trouble between EVA and Gideon.

 

I mean okay it´s is sure great that he is out of the way but it was murder and not self-defense. I would have a lot of trouble and guilt if the man who I do love goes and murders someone who is endangering my life.

 

(For this you must know I´m studies several semester of law and I do value life very much and do think nobody is allowed to kill someone except you are in direct life danger or somebody close to you.)

 

 And why did´nt Gideon told the police about everything, for example? Doesn´t he trust the police system? 

 

I did thought that the relationsship between them two would  be more complicated by the fact that G murdered N! That Gideon would suffer more, more than just some nightmares. Or maybe there is more to come in book 4????

 

What do you think? I am very interested to hear your opinions!

 

Maybe I am alone with this point of view....?

 

 

2. Regarding Graves talking to Eva at the end of Book 2 (EWY). Why didn´t Graves followed Eva to her apartment or get Gideon watched after she told Eva all her thoughts regarding the murdering of NATHAN? How could Gideon went to Eva´s apartment unseen? Especially if Graves suspects Gideon?

 

I am wondering all the time? You too?

 

I hope you don´t mind that I post these questions again!

 

You all discussed that Graves didn´t bury the case like she told Eva! I am not certain what I should believe or think regarding her. But for sure we will find out in the next two books ....

The ladies here were quite divided when we found out Gideon had killed Nathan. Many including myself thought that Gideon did what he did, because he perceived Eva to be in mortal danger. Graves herself said that Nathan would have killed her at some point. It was self preservation from Gideons point if view. She is his safe haven. He obviously didnt trust the authorities, because they didn't protect him from his abuser when he told them of his abuse. He knew keeping Eva under surveillance would have been for life while Nathan was breathing. Sylvia actually came on the forum to say, what would we do, how far would we go to protect our children? If Gideon hadn't have killed Nathan, Victor would have.

Your comment about, is Eva really in a strong place, she is in a better place, than at the beginning of Bared. She didn't understand what Gideon saw in her, her self esteem as bad as his. But she has learnt to trust him(doesn't always understand him), and stopped running away from her fears, confronting them.

In Entwined she said to him(page 90), "now I know what it's like to lose you, Gideon. How badly it hurts. If you shut me out, it's probably going to make me panic a little. You'll just have to be careful of that, and I'll just have to trust that your love is going to stick." Which is exactly what he did when he went to California. He shut her out, reverting back to his old ways. But they got over it.

2. Brett pursuing Eva, wants to get together with her again ...

3. Eva´s attraction to Brett and the complications therefore for her and Gideon ...

3. Victor and Monika´s cheating ... it´s is not Eva´s matter but this will still worry/affect her ...

 

 

Regarding Gideon, his issue are the following ... ?

 

1. The murder investigation and all the involved parties ....

2. Corinne jealousy, her prenancy, now over ..

3. Her husband ... his revenge and his emotions regarding Gideon ...

4. The abuse of Gideon and the involved parties (his mother, Mr. Lukas, Christopher) ..

6. Reporter Deanna, her real motives ( I suggest she wants to destroy Gideon somehow!) ...

7. The relationsship between Gideon and his mum ...

Thinking about our couple, there is so much going against them, it makes you wonder how they are surviving. They are perfect on their own. I so understand why Gideon wanted to elope, and have Angus as a witness. He is the only character not giving our couple grief in any shape or form. So loyal, and a solid guy.

I sort of hope that Eva doesn't have another confrontation with Corinne.  Corinne is already locked up in the psychiatry ward in the hospital.  If Eva confronted Corinne and got into a fight, do you think that anyone would look at Eva with justification or would they think that Eva was picking on a poor infirm woman? 

 

If Corinne is a manipulative as everyone says, wouldn't that be playing right into Corinne's hand?  What do you think?

I will admit to being a bit flippant in my remarks regarding confronting Corinne.

I don't think for one moment Eva would have a cat fight with Corinne. Corinne is spiteful and devious, she was cruel from day one of meeting Eva. Once Gideon explained Eva's insecurities to her, she used them against Eva. Corinne played dirty. I'm sure she knew she was pregnant, and had a plan hatched to trap Gideon at Eva's expense. She didn't care about Eva's mental health, knowing of her issues. Corinne had a chance with Gideon, many years back. He didn't want her then, what did she think had changed? Only book 4 and 5 will tell us.

But we can't know for sure what happened when Eva wasn't there. She assumed he would ###### other girls when she wasn't around but that could be her insecurity talking - she wasn't there, she doesn't know what he was doing. He considered them to be an item - he said they were together for 6 months and that that was the longest relationship he'd ever had... I'm not saying he didn't ###### other girls, all I'm saying is, we assume that because Eva assumed it.

That's also a massive part of Eva's confusion at this point in the book. She always assumed she was nothing more than a convenient ###### for Brett, but she's now starting to realise that she might have been wrong - based on the song he wrote about how he felt, and his actions recently...

I don't think he has anything to do with the sex tape either. His goal right now is to get Eva back, nothing could jeopardise that worse than releasing a sex tape.

And what sane man thinks that that is a likely reaction to his releasing a sex tape?! While he might think it would drive a wedge between her and Gideon, he could never believe it would bring her back to him!!

Brett's talking about how they can make a relationship work. I genuinely think that's what he wants. He talks about when the tour ends and coming to stay with Eva for the holidays... he seems to me to be making a real effort. Its not just all crude come on lines. And IMO, Brett had far more right to get crude and overly familiar too quickly than Gideon ever did. At least they had some sort of previous relationship!!

If a total stranger walked up to me and said what Gideon said to me, I'd have slapped him (at the very least)

An ex lover however, I wouldn't slap him. I might not be thrilled but I would take it much better from an ex than from a stranger!!

I don't regard Brett and Eva as lovers. She was just a convenient f* ck for him, when there was no one else to put out. Brett and his mate had a laugh at her expense in the pool hall. I'm sure it wasn't complimentary! She was desperate, needing to feel love and be loved. He used her like all the other girls.

Something has happened to those girls.

Not me.  If I have to eat crow it will be after I read what happens in San Diego.  I just feel there is something not right about the Brett dynamic.  Performers write songs about people all the time.  I'm not saying that Brett hasn't looked for Eva but maybe it is because she disappeared on him and his ego can't handle it.  This is all I'm saying on Brett for now anyway.

Yes he does feel something for her, I think it's l u s t not love. If he loved her, he wouldn't have been so crude trying to capture Eva's heart. Telling her that one time inside will be enough to convince her. To me he is still immature. His torch needs extinguishing!

Sorry Julie we had a lock down drill then a fire drill right when I was answering your question.  I didn't read it completely because the alarm made me jump out of my chair.  This is referring to her years at SDSU.  I don't think Eva spent very much of her younger years with her dad.  What I picked up from her conversations is that her younger years were mostly phone calls to her dad,

I don't think she saw her dad much in her younger years, she says it was mainly phone calls, but re reading she referred as going to school in SoCal. So I thought perhaps she spent some of her younger years there, although away from Victor. That was why I was asking about the ages. But school in the USA goes on into your twenties at least. So she was referring to SDSU. Trying to read to much into a sentence that was written.

Totally agree with you here. If Brett never had feelings for Eva why did he write the song Golden?

He released that song before he knew where Eva was / what she was doing / who she was dating. But he as much as said that he was hoping it would bring Eva back to him. That is not someone who is all about the chase. That is the actions of someone who had feelings for someone and missed them greatly when they were gone.

Eva's insecurities are why she thought Brett never had feelings for her. Though I'm sure his actions didn't help matters. They were both kids and poor at expressing their feelings and what was going on in their heads.

IMO Brett has been searching for Eva for a long time and that is why he is not taking no for an answer. He's been thinking about and missing her for 4 years and he given the mixed signals she's been sending, you can't really blame the guy for not giving up so easily. She walked away once, he doesn't want that to happen again.

Ok. When you put it like that, perhaps I have been a bit harsh on Brett. Portion of crow pie for Julie!

I totally agree with you he is in it for the chase and wanting something he can"t have.  Even when Eva told Brett that she loved Gideon it did not matter to him almost made he more determined!!  

Some people love the thrill of the chase. It gives them a buzz, trying to obtain the unobtainable, which is what Eva is.

I still don't think Michael hurt Megumi-sticking with the romantic angle, BUT if he did slap her around I really like your thoughts. It's one of the better Krav Maga theories.

Julie, I didn't see the rest of your question when I replied. I'm pretty sure Eva would have been referring to her college years. I'm an elementary school teacher and when I see parents of former students or students I ask where they are in school.

Ok. That's where your education is different to ours. Over 18's refer to their education as being in university. School finishes at 18 here.

Julie, if I may insert myself, and without knowing the circumstances, I would say they're referring to their college or university. College students and twenty somethings will say "where did you go to school?" or "where did you go to school?" Rather than what college did you go to. It used to be that meant an age range from 17-18 to 24-25. Of course students often stay much longer here now, and people take courses and degrees at all ages now. Hope this helps.

Went to school? When? If they went as a child it could be anywhere from 1st grade through high school.(6 though 18 if they didn't fail any grades) After high school it could be AA, BS, Masters, PhD. (These students could be any age from 18 to death.) I'm thinking about getting my PhD and I'm 60. I love learning new things and keep taking classes whether I'm working on a degree or not.

We were wondering about where Eva was living, throughout her life. Re reading Entwined, she referred to Southern California, where her dad lived and I'd gone to school. Yes she went there, to go to college. Which meant she could have lived there sometime in her younger days with Monica, before she left Stanton and Monica to go to SDSU. See where I'm coming from? Page 118

It's weird because I can't decide whose side I am on on the job argument. I get why Eva wants to stand on her own 2 feet and accomplish things on her own. But at the same time its insane that she work for someone else given the size of Gideon's empire!! What does everyone think is going to happen with this?

My gut is telling me that Eva will end up running both the foundation she sets up and the Crossroads foundation. That would be a good compromise... what do you think?

I'm thinking Gideon will get his way to a certain extent, but leaving Eva with her integrity intact. As long as he doesn't interfere, they will be good.

Good point.  It seems that he appreciates Gideon's help but he won't tell Jr. to listen to good advice.
