Personally I don't think anything would make Angus happier than doing this. I cannot tell you how much I love and respect Angus. He has been so many different things and played so many different roles in Gideon's and now Eva's life and for him to see his boss and pseudo son happy and being a father...I think that would mean so much to Angus to be there to see another generation of Cross' grow.

I totally agree. And it would be awesome to picture Angus securing a baby seat in the back of the bentley :-)

I just thought of something after having read everyone's comments and theories. What would make Gideon take off that quickly when he found out that Eva was at the Garden Party? We know that his abuser is no longer present so it couldn't have been an actual matter of physical safety. Was it emotional for Gideon? Or is there something more that we the reader haven't found out about yet? What do you think?

Personally I think it is emotional safety. He told Eva in the library the Vidal home is what's in his night mares. He probably didn't want his safe place tanted with the location of his past .

I bought my husband a 3 piece suit last week (he owns several suits but no 3 piece ones) he has no idea why I was so excited for him to wear it to church this morning!! I couldn't picture gideon telling Deanna they were already married or sharing with the world ( especially Eva's friends n family) they ran off an got married ... I assumed he was referring to her getting first dibs on the upcoming wedding?

I can only speak for myself. I have a wide personal space and it makes me crazy when people I barely know step into it. My husband, on the other hand, is a musician and has a lot of artsy, fartsy friends who like to touch, kiss and hug. It drives me crazy sometimes. None of them are bad people it is just the way theatrical people are.

I TOTALLY understand about the space bubble. Mine varies depending on my surroundings and who it is..... Some people I am comfortable letting into my space bubble while others are too close and I get uncomfortable.

I was worried about Megumi not being at work that day. Megumi always went to work, so that behaviour is odd for thi characer.

I still can't figure out why Jean Franois would choose to meet with Eva. What woul he hope to gain from a meeting? Did he really meet her just to insult her?

I too, loved the ring shopping scene. It reminded me of when Eva shopped for Gideon's first ring...sigh! Love!

I think JFG wanted to meet with Eva to learn (from a womans point of view) what his wife saw in Gideon. He didn't understand why she (Corrine) was still in love with Gideon.

Perhaps the Vidal’s don’t go to charity events that deal with child abuse because:

• They might that if they went, it might support Gideon in his “delusions†of having been a child of rape. This is just a thought.
• Or maybe they don’t really care about the issue of child abuse.
• Perhaps they allocate their charitable funds elsewhere.
• Or maybe they have been told in no uncertain terms by Gideon to stay away.
• Maybe Gideon will not tolerate the presence of his mother (the woman who never believed her own son about the horrible abuse that he was suffering from) or the step-father who may or may not have paid off the men who abused him and the doctors who helped to cover up the crimes.

Those might be possible scenarios. What does everyone else think?

Good morning to the ladies in the States and tomorrow morning to our new addition from Australia. Does this mean she will be on chapter 12? Lol

I loved this chapter, because Gideon knowing Eva's father is coming back to New York to see his daughter over her abuse, takes on a whole different attitude, than we normally see him.

Trying to put Eva at ease when she drives his car(A DB9)in New York for the first time. Trying to instill confidence in her for when her dad arrives. This confidence evaporates when she gets to the airport and sees Victor.

She is very hesitant at getting behind the wheel of the car. Gideon is watching her through hidden CCTV, ringing her, he encourages her to climb in.

He comes out with a lot of one liners that made me chuckle,

1. "I'd love to spread you across the hood and f*ck you real slow. Push my c*** deep inside you. Give those shocks a workout "

2. "Remind me, which one of us has the transportation fetish"

3 . Your lack of respect for this vehicles upholstery is appalling"

4. "You'll never lose me, angel. Wherever you go, however far, I'll be right here with you"

5. I'd stop the world from spinning for you."

The humour in Gideon in this chapter was eye opening. His character has grown since being back with Eva. He is more at ease with himself, opening up to Eva is taking him in the right direction, to him being healed.
