 Here is what I like in Chap. 20 best:  1) It was weird going to work on Monday. .... I wasn't Eva, the New York newbie trying to make it on her own in the big city with her best friend. I was a mogul's wife...  2) I knew you were nailing Cross again from the moment you started back up. ...Eva honey, don't you think that if there were another man in New York who could bang it out all night like Cross, I would've found him by now? ...No one is lucky enough to find two guys like that in a row. Not even you. You shoud've had a dry spell or at least a couple of really bad lays first.  3) Would you like to go home, Mrs Cross?  4) Maybe you should cut back on those vitamins, ace.  5) Can we still be naughty now that we are married?  6) "It's starting to go away," he murmured. My smile faded. "What? What's going away?" "The ... worry. It feels safe, doesn't it?" He sipped his wine. "Settled. It's a good feeling. I like it. A lot."  This is the chapter where I think Megumi goes missing. When JFG rings Eva up to remind her of their appointment, Eva answers a direct call .Seen that Megumi has put through Eva's calls (Magdalene, Brett) so far and that Gideon seems to be the only one whose calls can bypass the switchboard....     Where is Megumi then???????  I sooo love Eva's second ring shopping, as well as the s*x scene in a deserted Crossfire Building!!!!

Hi GiGi I believe JFG's predicament  is that of a wounded animal now: he'll bite back whoever and whatever should come near him. I don't see him hitting on Eva though Time will only tell us if he will be able to figure out how to move on in his life, with or without Corinne.

Hi GiGi Some men are simply impossible to give up, all the more so when they fill your head with mixed signals!! I believe DDeanna has found out the only way possible to hurt Gideon. DDeanna knows that Gideon doesn't care about anythong in the world, anything but Eva.. Therefore anything dirty involving the only woman Gideon seems to care about is a loaded gun aimed at him, and I'm sure DDeanna is going to shoot him down (with that awful "You can go now" in her head)-

After all the daily chores, ladies I'm all yours!!! I just saw SD's post on FB and my brain is spinning full force I couldn't have expected a better title for Book #4!!!!!

Ideed!! Jane Eyre is one of my best fav books, along with Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heitghs.... Heathcliff too reminds me of Gideon! I believe that in portraying strong female characters, a writer cannot but be amazed by characters like Jane Eyre, Elizabeth Bartlett and Kathy.... (oh my I can't remember her surname!), whose feelings and sentiments are so strong and 'modern' I wouldn't bel surprised at all if SD both liked and was also influenced by the Brontes.

I knew there was a lot more I needed to know about posting smileys. Yours are terrific!!!!

Hi Sharonm the same happens to me each and every time iread Chaps. 18 and 19. I feel the need to hug them and say everything willl be all right, no matter what. I've never experienced this level of involvement in a novel and being in the forum (thank you ladies!) has only deepened my pleasure in reading the Crossfire Series. :)

Hi Barb I can see the man-who-doesn't-know-what-romance-is falling on his knee over a candle-lit dinner, taking both of Eva's hands and kissing them.........but Eva would still say no. It had to be that way, with an anguished Eva who runs away, plunges into the ocean, and scares the h*ll out of Gedeon, who in turn runs after her and rescue her......(oh my, can't she swim?) I've also been wondering when could he have popped the question, if he wanted to do it properly.... They arrive Friday night and are married by Saturday morning, which leaves Sunday for the shortest honeymoon in human history...... Friday night over dinner was his only option then. Eva's answer was really some kind of foregone conclusion to him? Frowning my mmmmmmms here!!(does something like this exist in English? I've just made it up)

Hi Sheens How I miss Scotland and its people!!!!!!! During my college years, I took a few Summer School classes at Edinburgh University (BTW, you know you're a true Scot when you pronounce 'Edinburgh' right as well!... I'm still practicing) I really had the time of my life!! I'm so happy the only words I couldn't 'translate' were 'irn bru'!!!!!! My first days there were pretty 'challenging' to say the least, what with my landlady and the courses, but I loved it, loved, it loved it.

Hello everybody from sunny (and too hot) Italy!!!!!  I married Gideon Geoffrey Cross barefoot on a Caribbean beach with the hotel manager and Angus McLeod as witnesses.....  this is the perfect ending to Gideon and Eva's perfect love. The first ten words never ever fail to  make my eyes all shiny... After all Gideon and Eva (and us with them) have gone through, they can now experience perfect bliss. And so do I!!!!!  A secret marriage on the beach..... arranged to the tiniest details by someone who used to say he didn't like romance!!!  I was a little troubled by the prenup. Although I understand the necessity of such an arrangement between two wealthy people who are going to share their life with one another, I really don't like it, because it points out and reminds us that everything has a price: sex, love, children...  But Gideon was actually only protecting his own heart against the remotest likelihood of Eva walking out on him.  "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you" he tells Eva in RIY, which apparently includes giving up most of his wealth as well. As though killing Nathan wasn't enough!!!. His lawyers must have had a really hard time in convincing him otherwise.
