Wasn't really all that keen on him from the first few pics. But now I could see it working. A little hair styling and color. I'm sure he must be one of those actors who can ditch the English accent. OK I can talk myself into this.

I agree Avid reader I definitely think Gideon has a vision of his Angel on their wedding day but then again I think he will think she is gorgeous in whatever she is wearing or not!!! LOL. . .

 

Gideon hasn't been disappointed with any dress that Monica picked for Eva yet.  I agree Gideon will love whatever she wears.

Interesting idea about the wedding dress.  Eva already lets Monica pick out dresses for her (see the red dress from the limo drive).  But, I also think that Gideon will have some input into the whole dress thing, because he likes to dress her up also.  It may be Monica vs Gideon in this catfight!  As far as Gideon is concerned though, I think if Eva is happy with a dress, he will be.  But he will definitely want to dress her up. 

 

I can also see some issues between Monica and Gideon with Monica trying to keep him away from Eva before the wedding - you know Monica 'handles' her men and has tried to school Eva on how to 'catch' her man.  I can see Monica trying to keep them apart and Gideon not having any part of that.  Should be interesting!

 

Interesting but I see the New York wedding differently.  I think the wedding in the Caribbean is Gideon & Eva's wedding the NY wedding is for Monica.  I don't think they care what Monica wants to do as long as she gets it together in a hurry.

 

Gideon can handle Monica and no one knows about the little "love nest" next door to Eva.  There is no way that Gideon will be far away.

There is still hope for Captivated getting released this year.  I'm a big fan of Maya Banks especially her KGI series.  The next book in the KGI is scheduled to release in December.  She posted over the weekend that she is working on the final edits to the book right now.  When she sends them back they will start production.  I'm hoping Sylvia will have some updates when she returns from Brazil. 

GiGi It really depends on what you want to do with the device. 

 

I have Nook & Kindle apps on my phone and PC.  I like that because I can read whenever I have a long wait that I wasn't expecting.  I download all my books to my PC so I can back them up just in case something happens with my account on Amazon and/or B&N.

 

I have a Nook that I take to the beach, park, pool, vacation, etc.  It is much easier than carrying a ton of books like I did in the past. 

 

I'm thinking about getting a Kindle Fire because I like the idea of having the various options that the Kindle offers and it is easier to read in the sun.  However, I really want an Ipad but I'm having a hard time justifying buying both.

I don't think Daniel is part of the Russia Mafia at this point in the story no one knew that Gideon was going to kill Nathan.  In fact, I believe Gideon felt that not giving into Nathan's blackmail was going to make him go away.  It wasn't until Nathan put Cary in the hospital that Gideon realized how demented Nathan really was and how much danger Eva was in.

I agree with your ideas about Cary.  He needs to end his relationships with both; Trey and Tatiana.  Neither of those relationships are healthy on principle. 

 

I wonder how much of a role Deanna will play in the next book.  Will she just be a little blurb, mentioned in passing about how she "brokered the scoop of the century...getting the exclusive first public photos of Gideon and Eva", or is there something more at play here?

 

I have always liked the idea of Eva taking self defense classes, but the question is; who will she use her newly acquired skills on?

 

I don't even know what to think about the whole Russian Mafia thing...hmm?

 

I disagree with you all about Cary.  The way I interpreted his reaction to Trey is that is protective defenses were coming back up.  He is afraid to commit and continues to fight any commitment.  Tatiana isn't good for Cary because she is a very selfish person.  Trey is a good person but I think he is cautious.   In the end, I think Trey is going to be with Cary because he is a generous, loving person.

Holly Cow!  Couldn't sleep last night, jumped on and killed a character.  I was sure when I jumped back on this morning Barb was going to tell me she beat me.

I just found this thread and I must say that after reading FSOG and a couple of other series that involve BDSM, I do not see Gideon and Eva in that kind of relationship.  I just don't.  Most men like to be in control in the bedroom MOST OF THE TIME, but not all of the time.  That is how I see Gideon.  Eva is a bit hardheaded so maybe Gideon's point is that she doesn't need to push to have her own way.  She has had to be in control of her healing.  That is true.  It does make you stronger and more pushy when you are struggling to get your life back.  The comment where he tells her that she needs to be more submissive means to me that she doesn't always have to try to have it her way.  That she needs to trust him to know what is right for them as a couple.  I don't know of any long term relationship where these issues don't come up.  Men have very fragile egos and often need to feel like they run the show. Especially super powerful businessmen like Gideon.  As my mom told me many years ago, a smart woman runs the show but allows her man to think he does.  I really would hate to think of them in a BDSM relationship.

I'm not sure their relationship can be considered a real SM relationship however, Gideon does like a little bondage and kink.  Eva was raped repeatedly for years and my guess is someone recovering from that abuse may try to control all sexual encounters in the future. Gideon recognizes her symptoms because of his abuse and tries to help her enjoy sex through submission but she doesn't submit all the time and Gideon doesn't object.  I think that is healthy for both of them at this point.

I do have a question for some thought but a little off topic.  We know Gideon's background (some) with the therapist (Anne's brother).  But do I remember a discussion that Gideon was out of control and Christopher was emulating his big brother and acting up also?  So were they both in therapy with that a**hole.  So is Christopher Jr having control issues also and not handling them as well as Gideon?  Is he into BSDM?  Wondering if he is Megumi's on again/off again friend?  Did he hurt Megumi during control session?  Just a thought.

    It was Christopher's imitating Gideon's behavior that pushed Liz & Chris Sr. to get the therapist to visit the house.  I am of the opinion that Christopher has some issues because he was either abused or witnessed the abuse of Gideon.  My guess is that he was threatened by Hugh and Christopher was too frightened to tell his mother the truth.  Hopefully we will find out some of the secrets in the next book.

Gigi,  Thanks for putting the list together for us.  I'm reading as fast as I can but I keep adding to the list instead of deleting.  I'm enjoying all of the recommendations.

I do agree that Charlie has the bod and he actually even has what appear to be somewhat grey eyes and the fact that he can act is a real plus. LOL. That being said I think these actors were both chosen because of their chemistry during the audition process so,it's all good. My only reservation was that I think Charlie is a tad too old. I think Dakota looks great as a brunette and has lovely pale skin to boot; I can definitely see her as Ana and she is definitely the right age!! Can't wait for the movie!!

 

He is a little older but hopefully they will have a tight filming schedule and he won't age too much between pictures.  I agree the chemistry between the actors was most likely the deciding factor.

I read your posting and I was thinking along the same lines.  I read the Christian Grey character as being refined, sophisticated and fluent in; French, art, and literature. 

 

It is interesting; I actually thought that Charlie Hunnam was a little lanky as compared to the Christian Grey character. It was my understanding that the CG character was tall, long, and lean, with well defined muscles. I also didn't get an extended look at Charlie Hunnam, but who knows, it might work out.  Muscles can be added, subtracted or defined more clearly...

Gigi,  Charlie is 6'1"  that fits the "he's tall, broad shouldered and the way those pants hang from the hips"  In addition, he has the "reddish hair"   I think he can do sophisticated too.   

I see what the problem is .... no one wants to take out our favorites.  I don't blame you Dr. Travis is now in the mix.

Hi Sharon/Ladies,

I have be wondering if we will be tentatively adding Dr. Travis on the Kill Off a Character List because the question has been posed on a few occasions.  He was one of the characters mentioned in the books, and members have asked whether he should be included in the game or not? 

 

Sharon, do you think that it would be ok to add Dr. Travis late in the game, or do you think that he shouldn't be included at all because of his mention and not actual interaction with the characters?  Your guidance with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Ladies, I started an Afterburn Snippet thread on the Afterburn/Afterschock thread.  Snippet one looks great!!  Now, what about CBY? Maybe a Dec release then? Since she's posting snippets for Aftershock that's getting released in Nov...Idk how many snippets she plans on releasing tho b/c I saw that she posted the length of book two is the same as book one.

 

 

As far as FSoG casting....I don't really think their Ana is that pretty....sorry...but Charlie is a cutie! I'm sure he'll clean up nice a CG...Although he seems a bit bulkier than I pictured Christian to be....I feel bad for all the backlash they're getting

 

I think the backlash is because they waited so long to cast the leads.  So many people set their sights on other actors.  Also there were so many websites asking fans to vote that people thought they were going to have input.  I think Charlie will do great too. 

I think Charlie Hunnam is going to surprise you all.  He is very good playing dark and dangerous.  He has the beard because of his role in SOA as the leader of a biker club that will go when he is CG.  He isn't my first choice but he is a good actor and he will do the part justice IMO. 

 

I do think everyone on this forum will be very disappointed because HC is very busy and I don't see how he will fit in a TV series even if it is broken up into the smaller seasons that we see on cable.
