 I was trying to find the original FF. Did she make a lot of changes? I read some ff but then I get frustrated when the characters are changed so much that they don't resemble the people I like. Most of the ff that I read are based on my favorite TV shows and when they have a character do something that I know would never happen I stop reading. I haven't read any ff this summer because I have so many books to read. I'm behind due to work and other things.

  Hi SME,    I don't hate Monica. I think she did the best she could. I can't imagine my parents turning me out on my own if I came home pregnant even if they didn't approve of the baby's father. Not only did they turn her out they disowned her. I think Victor helped Monica for awhile but she knew she needed money and refused to marry him. I think Sylvia is going to fill in the blanks in the next book.  Thank you for sharing your personal information. I think it helps to understand Monica as a mother. It isn't easy to cope with a parent who struggles with inner demons. I admire your willingness to continue to try. It would be easy to write off someone who is suffering. I'm sure she knows in her heart that you want the best for her but, my guess, is she has closed herself off so completely that she doesn't know any other way.  Eva's promiscuity was her attempt to love and be loved. It is sad and so many people in an abusive relationship become promiscuous. It is a blessing that she had Victor to help her find a doctor to pull her out of her feelings of low self-esteem and prepare her to respond more appropriately.  One thing that Sylvia said when I saw her at the meet & greet is that Elizabeth is a woman who had it all and then lost it. She had the love of her life in Gideon's father, money and position. When her husband committed suicide and it was found that he was involved in stealing and cheating, she lost everything. Her defense mechanism was to put blinders on and take the position "If I don't admit anything is wrong then nothing is wrong." This attitude served Elizabeth but not her children especially Gideon. I think both mothers (Monica & Liz) are damaged but they will find their way through to their children. It is a shame we can't write a happy ending for real life.  Thanks again for sharing.Â

 You are right in real life a person in Gideon's position would never work 9 to 5 and lunches are often working meetings. My husband and I often had to be at work at 7 for early morning meetings but we did schedule time for lunch together whenever possible. It wouldn't make much of a love story though if they were both at work all the time. It is one of the things that made me crazy with the Corinne story arc. Gideon could easily limit his time with her by working but then again, I guess it would ruin the story line.Â

 I think Gideon will convince her that she will have autonomy and he will not put her in a position that she can't handle. Her biggest concern is bringing work disagreements home with them. If Gideon can convince her that they will leave disagreements at the office he has a new employee. I still think her loyalty will ultimately bring her to Cross Industries.

 I haven't a clue. I was just thinking about the plans to remodel the master bedroom so they are connected via a passageway. Maybe Gideon will remodel the area around his office to connect their areas using Scott's office as a walkthru and Eva's assistant on the other side. Then again, the 10th floor could be it. Maybe being too close will distract them from the work they need to do during the day.

 She will work for Gideon because she is so loyal to him. I remember his comment about her going to CrossTrainer even though she has a membership at another gym. Gideon told her she will work on some of his competitors and (can't remember exactly) but basically she won't like feeling disloyal.Â

 I'm not sure it really matters how long it takes to set up the foundation to the point where it is functioning completely. There is time to begin the process, get input from Gideon, put Cary in place and start the paper work. In real life, it takes time to get a foundation recognized as a 501 3c organization but there are many aspects that need to be put in place. The state tax / corporation / foundation articles of incorporation can be set up and put in place in a couple days with the right connections and I'm sure Gideon has that. It only took me five days and I don't know anybody with connections.

 I don't think you and I will agree on Monica. I don't hate her at all, in fact, I think she did her best for her daughter with what she had--her looks. Yes I think Monica is still in pain and suffers greatly because of her daughter's abuse. I believe that she has internalized that pain and hates herself so much that she is still in regular therapy.Â

 I haven't read any of her books yet but I have a couple. The book I'm going to read next is Hot in Handcuffs. She wrote this with Sylvia Day. I think it will be interesting to see how they write together. Shayla's table was right next to Sylvia at Book Bash. Sylvia mentioned that they are good friends. Their writing styles seem to be a little different so it should be interesting how they meld their styles in the book.  I have the first two books in Shayla's Wicked series Wicked Ties and Decadent. Her husband was so funny and I had to laugh when he recommended Wicked Ties. He said it is the first one she wrote in this series and it means a lot to her.  Right now I'm on book 5 of the KGI series by Maya Banks. I really love these books and the characters. Each book focuses on a different character but the characters from the previous books flow through each book. Each book can stand alone but each story references previous books. As I mentioned earlier they are thrillers in a sense with a love story as the basis of the thriller. The KGI team (para-military) is working to save a "damsel in distress" so to speak. It is the best of both worlds for me because I love mysteries. The characters are well developed and the story is solid. I like that there are 7 books in print now and another is due out the end of the year. When I talked to Maya at the Book Bash she said she is planning some more in the series. She said a few more characters have stories to tell.   I'm hoping that she will develop a story for all the characters in the books. Book 6 is about P.J. a female sniper. She is a dead on shot and relied on by her team. I can't wait to read her story.Â

 I know. How we suffer for our family. He woke up with a sore throat, depending on how he feels I may have to postpone the trip to the movies for another day.

We were talking about Shayla Black's books earlier. I have a couple of her books that she signed for me. When I asked her what books she recommends of hers she said the Wicked series is her favorite and out of that series Wicked Ties is her favorite. Her husband said that's his favorite too.

The more I think about it. I'm not sure that Gideon will put Eva on the 10th floor. I can see the 10th floor as Eva's foundation's office but I have a feeling he will want her actual office closer to his.Â

 I think the foundation will be a part of her job but that won't be full time. She will definitely work for Gideon in advertising or crisis management. He wants her there and she can't say no to him. They are going to be a team with everything.

 He could be Clancy. I have to go back and see if there is a decent description of him. 38 would be the right age to be out of the military and moving on to a body guard/driver position.

Well that is an interesting casting.

 Hopefully I will be able to set her up for you.Â

 I thought that Mark would go in on the advertising side. In this position he would evaluate the RFPs from Waters Fields & Leaman.  Gideon wants Eva to handle crisis control like she did with the Deanna stuff.Â

Looks like we have Tatiana in the sights. Ready, set, fire!

My grandson asked me to take him to see Superman tomorrow. He said "I know you don't really like those guy movies but please take me." I told him I think I can suffer through it with him.Â

 For the most part my neighbors are fine. I only have to worry about fireworks on New Year's Eve and the 4th. In general we all work so people turn TVs, music etc. down by 11:30 or so.  I used to go down on the beach to watch the fireworks go off but they allow folks to set off their own fireworks and some crazies forget to point them toward the Gulf. Makes me nervous.
