  1. Eva seriously needs to tell Cary something, only from the point that it will put their friendship in peril if he spills the beans about Gideon, thus hurting Eva. She doesn't want to become piggy in the middle. She loves both these guys. It would devastate her, to have to make a choice.

I agree, but she could pick and choose what she say's to Cary and if he really is such a good friend he will keep quiet, I do think she needs to tell Cary about the reporter though

  2. If Victor does find out Gideon killed Nathan, a distinct possibility if Graves does another one of her spill-the-beans stunts, then Victor will face an awful choice:

The police officer in him, sworn to uphold the law, would never want Gideon to get away with murder - premeditated murder at that, the worst kind of killing. And Victor would be even more horrified at the thought of Eva colluding to help cover up the crime after the fact, something that could expose her to a charge of accessory after the fact to first degree murder.

The father in him, whose desire to protect his own child would know no bounds, could view the situation as Nathan having gotten away with raping Eva -- a short stint in a psychiatric hospital instead of decades in a prison. Like Gideon, he could also view the situation as Nathan would have gotten away with murder if he had killed Eva -- he'd have gone right through the lather-rinse-repeat of being sent to a hospital, not a prison, found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

It's obvious to me which side of Victor would win out in the end. I can see Victor thanking Gideon for saving Eva's life. And I'll bet Victor would wish he'd been the one to plunge that knife into Nathan himself.

I am not sure if Eva would say anything to Victor, afterall he is a cop and she probably will not want to hurt him by letting him know she has been hiding the terrible secret of Nathan and what he did to her all these years from her dad, I think that would be hurtful for her to do to him and she adores her dad.  Also I don't think she would want him thinking bad of Gideon or putting his career on the line due to the secret

  3. That would be a good reason for Gideon to let Corrine go, and be single for a while. He needs to keep his head down for a while.

Yes I agree there Julie and the if he lets Corrine go saying something like " he needs time to be on his own for a while and he still wanted to be friends" it would probably not sting as much to Corrine as if it would if he let her go and then went straight back to Eva in public, I think that would cause Corrine to go for leather on him and maybe give Corrine excuse to try and get revenge on him for dumping her

  4. I wondered if Gideon would sit down with Cary and have a chat with him about what was going on, Gideon has always called Cary when a nightmare happened and he thought he had hurt Eva and Cary has always listened and even Cary I think understands that Gideon maybe a bit of a Sh** at times to Eva but he does love and care for her and he has always tried to protect Eva.

I think if Gideon sat down and told Cary straight up what he did and why he cut Eva off which was to protect her from Nathan and how Nathan was going to kill Eva Cary would understand and have a different prospective towards Gideon.

If you remember back to when the police showed up at the house to speak to Eva about Nathan's death, Cary was there and he would probably have noticed that Gideon could not look at Eva when Graves was asking Gideon if he knew Nathan and Gideon replied that the police would not have been asking that if they did not know the answer to that so I think Cary probably already has an indication that Gideon has been involved in the death of Nathan but not the full extent and I think that will hold great weight in Cary's eyes and I think he will respect Gideon for that and Eva I don't think gives Cary enough respect in that way to know how Cary would cope with knowing the news but I think Cary would probably already have an idea and it is up to Gideon to make Cary believe that he did everything from the breaking off with Eva, the Corrine and the death of Nathan for the security of Eva and that was his only goal because he loves Eva so much.

    My thoughts ............

  5. I'm wondering when they will be out. Sylvia is not done with book 4 yet and she is releasing that new series this year (August and December) so I wonder when we can really expect to have 4 let alone 5.

I think it will be next year before we get book 4 and 5 with the way the publishers have been with book 3, it is a shame though with all the time waiting. :( it just seems that the publishing company are putting putting the books out when they want to, which is frustrating for the fans.  It will also depend on when Sylvia finishes book 4

  6. well now he knows Deanna is on his case, he has a heads up. I'm sure there will be some manipulation going on, from Gideons legal team. I'm sure Eva can use her womanly ways, perhaps sympathising with Deanna, to extract info out of her. But then again, given Eva's jealousy, could she handle listening to intimate details about Gideon and Deanna.

You do have a point Julie, not sure if Eva would be able to deal with all of Gideon's past

  7. aarrhh! But they are red. I thought they looked familiar when I saw the snapshot, because we did the tourist thing and had our photos taken there 2 years ago. I called them steps though. It all ties in with the Vidal event in Times Square with Brett.

from the photo you posted earlier I think you are probably right Julie, it sounds more like the snippet :)

  8. I think he meant come home to him. Not necessarily referring to the house or physical location. But instead meaning come to be with him. (home in his arms)

Yes I did think that as well :), wishful thinking of them living with each other but I know it is probably too early for that

  9. There is too much baggage to wade through before the happy stuff starts, and the book is only 2 weeks along in the relationship. Basically books 1 & 2 revolved round Eva. Now it's Gideons issues to come, with support from Eva .

Perhaps an engagement would be a good way to round off book 3, to keep us romantics happy. :)

That would be a nice way to finish book 3 Julie so fingers crossed :)

  10. I agree I think Eva is going to get in a fight and use her Krav Maga skills.  Or she is going to have another meeting with Graves at her class.

I would probably think more like Graves at Krav Maga, it may even work out for Eva, she may even be able to get some information from Graves pretending she is not seeing Gideon..... just a thought, at least that way Eva would know how the police were thinking or looking

  11.  Snapshot 16, set of metal steps. No idea. Police station, maybe? Not a courthouse -- those buildings tend to have very grand sets of stairs, marble and granite, to show how important societal buildings they are. Police stations are, for lack of a better word, kinda grubby places, cops (and sometimes prisoners) coming and going.

Sylvia, Sylvia, Sylvia ..... you really got us all confused with that picture. My compliments on especially intriguing the lot of us.

I do not have snapshot 16 on SD FB page, can you tell me where you saw it so I can have a look please :)

  12. Since when has Gideon ever been 100% forthcoming about anything in his past, including Corrine, to Eva? Gideon has told Eva only what he's absolutely had to about a lot of stuff. Usually, Eva gets absolutely nowhere when she demands honesty out of him, Mr. Closed Off.

He's always wanted total honesty out of Eva, but he's yet to give that in return.

He's always wanted total trust from Eva, but he's all-but-incapable of trusting her (trusting anyone) in return.

Gideon really is a virgin when it comes to the open communication that is part of any healthy relationship. He's Mr. Dysfunction.

    so true LN :)

  13. Hi. I'm almost certain Gideon will have bought the beach house. As he said everything has a price, and Eva loved it. Will it be a wedding present to her. Sigh!

    Oh Julie

Wouldn't that be wonderful to have a man to buy a house just like that for you.  It would be a lovely wedding present but I think like everyone else that maybe a wee while away and as SD has confirmed on FB that there will be 5 books I think book 3 will be going through a lot of the relationship problems and getting over the hurdles, I hope the Nathan killing thing dies down in this book as well but you never know.

I am hoping even by the end of book 3 there may even be an engagement lol :)

  14. Sheena I know how you I am always catching up. I think you are two hours behind South Africa. Sometimes I wake up to over 150 emails. My social life now revolve around crossfire and this forum. :D

    Hi Bookworm

LOL, I came in this morning to 138 posts, it took me most of the morning to go through them and yes I am at work as well LOL, but my social life is this site now :)

  15. I can't wait to read what happens in Chapter Four. Brett hovering around Eva, Gideon nearby and powerless to do anything about it, and Cary thrown into the mix to boot, probably pro-Brett-anti-Gideon at that moment.

Oooooooo that scene could be a lot of fun. Especially because Gideon will deserve every last pang of raging jealousy and possessiveness he'd be feeling. Yet another unintended consequence of his miserably-failed handling of Eva when he had distanced Eva and started taking Corrine out again for all the world to see.

Now Gideon is painted into a corner where he is powerless to declare to the world he and Eva are a couple very much in love with one another. What's worse, Gideon's public rejection of Eva in favor of Corrine fooled Brett into thinking Eva is very much available, and Brett doesn't really have to worry about Gideon anymore.

Oh I know LN, it is going to be sooooo good reading chapter 4, 26 days and counting, oh it is taking forever now especially after reading chapter 1 and part of chapter 2.

I think Gideon in chapter 4 is going to get a taste of his own medicine but I also think Eva is going to cringe knowing that Gideon is going to see Brett hovering all over her and nothing she can do either to be with Gideon but I think she will be pleasant to Ireland and that way maybe able to have a conversation with Gideon and Cary may be aware that the two are sneaking around, I think by then she would have to tell him something.  I think Cary and Ireland may become good friends which I think would be good especially for Ireland to have an escape from her mother and see other people :)
