Actually, the only evidence we know about is circumstantial, because all we know about is the evidence that Graves decided to tell Eva about. I think there's more that she (Graves) didn't talk about.
Â
For one thing, we know from Monica wailing to Eva a couple of days earlier, the cops showed up at Stanton's office to seize copies of security tapes. Graves said nothing to Eva about Stanton.
Â
Graves was trying to manipulate Eva, not be 100% honest with Eva.
I totally agree with you here LN, however, I did think that the Detective was quite surprised with Eva's emotion when she was told the story from Graves about their thoughts on the matter, I was thinking that maybe Graves was saying all this to get a reaction from Eva of recognition which she never got and I think this threw the detectiveÂ

I think you're right. Also we only have Graves version of what she thinks happened with the murder. The facts may turn out to be a little different. It should be interesting. The biggest thing is that as of right now there is no physical evidence. It is all circumstantial.Â
What about Graves's partners notes, nothing was said about that, only that Graves was destroying her notes, maybe they are holding onto her partners as security, you never know..... thoughts anyone

The murder case is, when Entwined opens, close to the point where it would be time to decide whether or not to indict/arrest Gideon. The detectives have figured out he did it, have already broken his alibi, and are now building the motive side of the case.
Â
The easiest way that the case would go away at this particular stage -- on the threshold of decision on whether or not to arrest -- would be the prosecutor determining the evidence isn't strong enough to meet the burden of proof. Under the U.S. legal system, the prosecution is always the side with the uphill battle. Gideon's team doesn't have to prove him innocent -- EVERYTHING rests on the prosecution proving guilt.
Â
I'm convinced Graves lied when she fed Eva b******* the cops basically decided on their own to drop the case because Nathan was a dangerous scumbag but Gideon's no danger to other people. However, it is possible the prosecution will decide that even though they know he did it, knowing it and proving it to a jury are two different things. This is not simply the prosecution being afraid of the best defense lawyers money can buy. If the prosecution had the evidence to do it, they'd go after Gideon no matter how rich he is. If the prosecution knows the evidence isn't enough to meet the burden, they'll back down now rather than lose the trial.
I do so hope you are right

In both of the prior Chapter 15, Gideon has done something to "save" Eva. Save their almost-ended early relationship in Bared. Saved her life in Reflected. Maybe this is the Chapter 15 that Eva "saves" Gideon from his darkness, does something that finally convinces him the nightmares won't ever stand in the way of them being able to share a bed, a home, a life -- marriage, in other words.
Oh I do hope so
-
so going with that theory, we have had all the angst and turmoil, now things will start to get better? Perhaps a good cliff hanger. If I'm wrong about the arrest, I will take us all out for a stiff drink! Because I think we will all need one!
Fingers crossed :)

Plus it would be a crappy ending for a love story:(
I agree Julie54it would kill Eva if anything happened to Gideon and yes it would be a crappy ending
-
Oh Please don't say that I think that is everyone's worst fear. Although if he were arrested and the case went to trial it might be for the best. Let's say he was tried for murder one ( murder in the 1st degree) and the jury found him innocent because of reasonable doubt because the lack of any physical evidence. He could never(not even the cops found concrete evidence that Gideon did kill Nathan after the trial was over) be tried for Nathan's murder again, because that would be Double Jepoardy. So maybe that's what SD is planning? It be just about the only way the Gideon could get away with murder without always having to worry.
Not sure if Gideon would be able to cope with a trial, what would happen to all his businesses and would something like that not give Christopher Jnr the opportunity to get control of the record label, thus getting one up on Gideon
-
i don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but I just hope, that this book doesn't end with a cliff hanger of Gideon being arrested!! please god no!
OMG no that would be horrendous not sure if I could cope with that

Man's hand (must be Gideon's) gripping a bedsheet.
Â
More hot sex, I hope, not a nightmare.
Was just thinking that when I saw the clip, I hope with the absence of Eva so much in Gideons life he does not have any nightmares
-
I wonder if this book will include Gideon's POV at all. Like the one form the NYE snippet.
That would be good yes
-
i agree. I like her as Eva's voice but she sounds really funny as Gideon's voice.
I know JLS it is weird to hear her doing the same vocals for Eva as she does Gideon lol

USA...Kentucky...Samantha Young wrote "On Dublin Street"--It takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland--present day...And yes, I think that it is very good book...it is not part of a series..
Thanks AMC, I shall look it up

I'm convinced Magdalene is being catty to Corrine, and not just to get even either. Corrine may be in a state of denial Gideon is deeply unhappy, but Magdalene probably sees crystal clear he's in agony. Probably understands that Eva being gone is the reason. Probably blaming Corrine for having destroyed Eva's trust in Gideon, driving Eva away forever.
Â
Bottom line: Magdalene saw Gideon fall in love, then Corrine crashed back onto the scene, Eva's gone and Gideon is heartbroken. Magdalene would blame Corrine for it all.
Yes I never thought of it like that. I did always wonder why Magdalena called Eva that day after the gala and relayed how Gideon was managing Corrine, I just thought it was Magdalena being annoying and trying to wind up Eva but your explanation makes more sense, thanks
-
I don't think Magdalena and Corrine were old friends. I think they know each other through Gideon but thats it.
Never thought of that, I always thought they were friends
-
definitely. Eva blew all Gideons barriers to smithereens. As he said, she will have no secrets from him, the same has to be said about him. When he opens up more to Eva about his past, only then will he be free.
We all know Eva is the one for Gideon and I don't think Corrine can handle it, for now she thinks she is the one but surely she is not that dumb when all he is doing is having her escort him to events
-
I see what you are getting at LN Coran but I still am not convinced Magdalena is not in league with Corrine in some weird loyal way with Magdalena and Corrine being old friends
-
Thank you so much for that, it is so nice to have the questions I have had be answered by you all

It was blood, but on one of the cuffs of the shirt he'd been wearing, not the collar. When he'd showered in his private bathroom, he'd thrown the shirt into a hamper. Eva marched in there, fished the shirt out, saw a little bit of bright red on the cuff, concluded it was Corrine's lipstick (Corrine had been wearing bright red lipstick) and showed it to Gideon, along with the cell phone picture she'd shot of Corrine downstairs, using both the shirt and picture as evidence he was "busted."
Thanks for that, just goes to show you how much Gideon wanted to protect Eva from that pig Nathan

Gideon started cutting off Eva Monday evening after Cary got attacked. We have deduced that Gideons security team had been following Nathan, so they- we think- saw what nathan did to Cary, probably intervened saving Carys life. When Gideon found out he panicked about Eva's safety, hence pulling away from her to give him some breathing space, to plan a murder, and hopefully Nathan would calm down long enough for Gideon to put his plans in action.
Thanks

Favourite quote today, and I'm sure we all agree with it.
"But I think you two will find each other eventually. At least I'm hoping you will" his sigh was soft on my neck." I want there to be happily- ever- afters for the f*cked- up crowd. Show me the way, Eva honey. Make me believe."
Oh Cary. You don't know how much we want it too. Cheering here!!!
Yes very good quote Julie54, fingers crossed Cary will get his Happily Ever After as well as Gideon and Eva
-
OMG! THAT would be great--to hear a man's voice speak Gideon's words!
I see that you are from Edinburgh, Scotland---have you read "On Dublin Street" ?
Hi AMCÂ
Â
No I have not read that, who wrote it and is it any good.
So where in the world are you from.
-
Hi.
Yes it was Nathan's blood on Gideons.
Nathan was basically stalking Eva, putting pressure on Gideon and Stanton to pay up.
Any questions we can answer them.
Keep them coming.
Hi Julie54,
Â
I knew I was not going mad, I just didn't think Nathan had been blackmailing Gideon by then as he did not seem to be so put out, it was only after Cary was attacked that he started to get weird and go off Eva but I suppose it must have been going for some time but when reading the book when Eva starts to put things together and her mother seeing Nathan I always thought that was the first time you were to know that Nathan had been to see Gideon with the photographs and video but it had probably been going on for a while then?
-
I think Victor will certainly look into everything that is not sealed, he has the names all he has to do is some investigations and yes he will probably go mad but I think he will also be hurt that he couldn't be there for his daughter and I do think like Gigi that Monica may get the brunt of it from him.
Â
However, I think it will also kill Eva if she found out her father knew what happened as she has tried to keep it from him for so long and she will not want him getting hurt by this.
Â
I think Sylvia will keep us all going like Gigi said right up to the last page of this book then continue with book 4, I just hope it is not months of waiting until that one comes out, this is torture waiting all this time

Hi Caroline,
I think that’s where maybe some of the forum members may differ. I think that everyone had everyone else’s best interests at heart and not Eva’s. Oh yes everyone in the book kept trying to justify their actions and  kept stating that they did this or that or the other to “protect†Eva, but NO ONE EVER ONCE ASKED OR INCLUDED Eva in the DECISION MAKING PROCESS. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that you said this or that someone specifically had said it, it just seems to be a recurring theme in this book.
Â
I was thinking about what everyone was saying about how Monica loves Eva and I started questioning whether Monica loves Eva or whether she just loves her reflection in Eva’s eyes. There is a big difference between the two. Other forum members have mentioned that Monica almost treats Eva like an accessory and I have to say that I agree.Â
