  1. Hi Sheens263, I agree with you. I am not sure that there would have been any real way of getting around Deanna. She seems like a person who was he&* bent on gettting a story. It is almost like she feels that she was at least owed a story from Gideon because of the way that he treated her when the slept together.Â
  2. You make a good point. I don't think that Eva and Brett can be friends. I think that there is too much in their past and Brett over-stepped when he grabbed Eva and kissed. He also made his intentions perfectly clear.  He wants Eva back, will do anything to make that happen and has definate romantic interest in her. I could only see a situation of tension everytime Eva would have to see Brett.  I think a perfect example of that was during the Vidal Video launch party. It turned out to be hugely embarrassing for both Eva and Gideon and it seemed to be an over disaster. What do you think? What does everyone think?Â
  3. Hi Golfergirl, I had a quick obstetrics question to ask, if you have the time to answer please. We know that Corinne attempted suicide by taking pills. Now depending on what those pills were, could that be enough to induce a misscarriage or would the medications used to try and prevent damage to Corinne's liver and kidneys (activated charcol and such) have been what caused the misscarriage. Or if her stomach was pumped would that potentially cause a miscarriage.  Your clarification in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time and expertise. I really appreciate it.
  4. Hi Azmich, I agree. I wouldn't want to wear an engagement ring of a woman who is so not nice and had done that kind of damage to her child. I don't think that Eva would have known that the engagement ring was Elizabeth Vidal's. Did you happen to see it mentioned that Gideon explained to her that was his mother's old engagement ring?Â
  5.  Hi Kirsten, I also think that Corinne's parents would also blame Gideon for their daughter's actions. Sometimes when people are in a state of shock or grief, they lash out and blame their child's actions on someone else. I could definately see that kind of scenario happening in this situation. They have not only almost lost their daughter, but they have lost the first grandchild ( no one knows whether Corinne has brothers or sisters or if they have children), so that type of situation could potentially be volitile.  Look at how Corrine's husband reacted when he saw Gideon. He lashed out at him and not at himself. He let his wife walk away, he never chased after her, nutured her, or made her feel loved, yet he saw it fit to blame Gideon's ghost and not his own direct actions.   I have always maintained that if Corrine had felt loved and treasured in her marriage, she never would have left her husband and made such a desperate plea for a man who didn't really love her. I know that many people have differing feelings about this issue, I just don't think that Corinne deserved to lose her life because of everything that happened. Again, I am not condoning or supporting Corinne's nasty behaviour, I just feel a little sad about the fact that she is mentally ill and is seriously lost emotionally.
  6. Hi Kirsten, Do you think that it was Elizabeth Vidal seeing Eva wearing her old engagement ring that set her off? Which would lead me to my next question; how would Gideon get his hands on that ring? Usually women keep their engagement rings and only pass them down to their children way later on in life (or if a child specifically asks for said ring) but usually the mother would be aware of whom her child was going to propose to? It seemed like Elizabeth was blind-sided when she saw that ring on Eva. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  7.  Anything is possible. I wonder that if Elizabeth's stunt by bringing her son to the hospital will backfire on her friendship with Corrine's parents. I don't think that they would have been too pleased with her actions. What's worse Gideon brought Eva with him and I am absolutely sure that would have been like waving a red flag in front of some really angry bulls (i.e. Corrine's parents). It would be easier for them to blame Eva for this entire mess instead of stepping back and looking at what had been going on in their daughter's life.
  8.  Hi Kirsten, I don't agree with what Monica did at all!! I don't support infidelity in the least! I think that it was easy for Monica to cheat on Stanton because she was never in love with Stanton. I am sure that she cared for him and probably loved him for what he did for Monica and her daughter but that is a far cry from being in love with someone and building a life together.Â
  9. It is funny that you say, because I was so upset with Monica during the last two books. Her actions were disgusting at best and generally appalling overall, but she always had some way of apologizing for her actions. I was constantly disappointed with her actions and judged her very harshly.  Whereas with Elizabeth Vidal, I gave her the benefit of the doubt (not about believing her son- NO WAY EVER!!!!), but I thought that maybe she might take the time to reflect on her actions and appologize. NO WAY!! If anything that woman just keeps revealing what a despicable human being she is turning out to be. The thing that clinched it for me was when Eva confronted Elizabeth Vidal after Elizabeth saw her engagement ring on Eva's fingers.  I don't know if Elizabeth has any hope, whether Monica may have some hope (because there is the possibility of hearing why she is so screwed up) or whether they should both be tossed into the discard pile. Do you know what I mean? What do you think? What does everyone think?  Â
  10.   Hi Julie, You make a good point. How do you think Gideon convinced his mother to sell Ireland’s shares in Vidal records? Do you think that there was any arm-twisting involved?
  11. Hi Kirsten, Sorry, I made a mistake. I was thinking about Monica and Victor when I responded to Eva and Gideon.
  12.  Those are all really good questions too!  Maybe we will get the answers within the next two books (hopefully a paragraph or two).  In response to what you said, maybe the families were once close when Gideon and Corrine were engaged, but surely wouldn't that closeness have wained after Corrine married someone else? Why wasn't Corrine's husband's family there to support their daughter-in-law? What do you think?
  13.  I wonder what is going to happen between Monica and Victor. Will they get their happily ever after? Â
  14. Hi Kirsten, I just wanted to add quickly, Elizabeth Vidal's actions at the hospital spoke volumes to me. You are absolutely correct, she had no business being at the hospital, but what's worse is that she was capitalizing on another family's tragedy to try and further her agenda (either separating Gideon and Eva or what....), but her actions were horrendous!  I found it very interesting how Elizabeth physically came between Gideon and Eva to separate them and tried to guide Gideon over to where she wanted him to be. No one from the Cross family should have been at the hospital.  To me Elizabeth Vidal's actions stated that she would use anyone or any circumstance to further her agenda. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  15. Hi Kirsten, I had a few thoughts about what you said. You are absolutely correct, Gideon didn't have any business being at the hospital. I think that would have sent the worst message to a woman who was already so incredibly mentally ill (the mentally ill part is my assessment-I don't know if you agree or not). My assessment is that anyone who is willing to commit suicide and actually goes through with the act is suffering from some type of serious mental illness (temporary or long term remains to be seen).  It was apparent that the suicide attempt was severe enough that Corrine lost a baby over it. To my knowledge, taking activated charcol and something else wouldn't be enough to induce an actual miscarriage but maybe someone with specific knowledge in relation to gynecology and obstetrics could more fully respond to this point. I don't if having one's stomach pumped would be enough of a stress on the body to induce a miscarriage.  I just think that although Gideon did tell Corrine that he wanted to be friends he also lead her on by letting her believe that there might be a possibility for more (double edged sword). I think at some point Gideon needs to let Corinne off of the hook and be honest with her and tell her that she never stood a chance. I think that may be the only thing that may keep this woman from going completely over the edge. I think that Corinne kept beating herself up about having walked away from the "perfect guy" when he really never was. Do you know what I mean?
  16. Hi Donnad, What I saw during the prenup scenario was Eva's automatic negative reaction to something that Gideon had done. What I really liked about that scenario is that instead of automatically going to find Gideon and lay into him, she went and took a shower and actually gave herself some time to calm down. Then she actually looked at the document instead of rushing to snap judgements and making rash decisions.  For me that was huge progress on Eva's part. Those actions told me that she was mentally heading in the right direction. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  17.  Hi Sscrph, Wow! Great question! Who knows? Maybe after Monica finished having s**, she had a shower and just automatically changed her clothing, or maybe she had s** with most of those clothes on and she didn't want to go home smelling like s** (or Victor). Your scenario sounds so much more passionate.
  18. Hi Sscrph, I agree completely! What is up with that? I would think that if anything no one from Corinne's camp would have been too thrilled to see either Gideon or his mother.Â
  19. Hi Julie, Do you think that Brett knows about the se* tape? Or do you think that he will find out about it and try to use it as some form of blackmail to get Eva to get back together with him (which is kind of hillarious considering everything in the book)?
  20.  Hi Kirsten, I know I responded to this thread before but something else just came to mind, do you think that the parents of Corrine and Gideon would have been listening and reading what the media had been writing about their children instead of asking those two. I know that Corrine would have had a very skewed view of what was happening with her relationship with Gideon, but what's Elizabeth Vidal's excuse? What do you think? What does everyone think?
  21. Hi Jenna, Welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy yourself.
  22. Hi Fayeth, You bring up some good questions. It would be nice to know where Monica was when Eva was born. I think that Sylvia may have mentioned something about how we the readers will get answers as to why money is so important to Monica (but don't quote me on that, I can't remember where I read that), which means we may get answers about what life was like for Monica and Eva during the early years.  We may also get answers from Eva herself during some kind of dialogue with Gideon. Who know's I guess that is for Sylvia to decide in which book, if any, she will reveal that information.
  23. Hi Kirsten, I have some reservations about the entire situation. I understand why Eva met with Brett but for me, the scenario should have ended there. I didn't see the point of Eva going to the event personally, but I could see her attending the event to keep up appearances (but for whom I am not sure).  I think that if anything happens, it only going to be mud slinging and not much else. What's the point of mud slinging against Eva in the end? I know that she is connected to Gideon, but she isn't the intended target, Gideon is. I think it just shows the characters of the others who would use Eva to try and hurt Gideon. Do you know what I mean?
  24. Hi Kirsten, You make a valid point. I just wonder if they got that impression from Corrine or from Elizabeth Vidal.Â
