  1. You make a good point about Clancy asking his brother to help him commit a crime. That has been my challenge with all of the theories that suggest supposed sane, rational, characters would commit crimes, cover up crimes or commit murders for their employers.  It seems like a real stretch. What do you think? What does everyone think?Â
  2. I think we may even see a show-down between these two "mothers".   Monica is thrilled over the match while Elizabeth is spitting nails over having Eva as a potential daughter-in-law (ahh, if she only knew the real truth...). I wonder what will happen. What do you think? What does everyone think?Â
  3. Hi Sharon, How much time passed between Monica seeing Nathan outside of the Crossfire Building and Stanton agreeing to pay Nathan's blackmail demands? Do you know? Does anyone know?  Also how much time passed between Stanton agreeing to pay Nathan's blackmail demands and Nathan's murder? Does anyone know?
  4. OMW!! That is hillarious!! Where do you find these?  Â
  5. Hi Jennpenn, I agree. It could be either Ireland or Cary. Those two never miss a beat when it comes to Eva and Gideon.
  6. I was starting to think that I missed something in the book, so I started scouring the book for the missing "priestess gown"...Â
  7. Maybe she can join the website after and have a good laugh at some of the things we all have written. I think she would howl with laughter over some of our discussions.
  8. I am still howling with laughter here!!  Â
  9. Hi Sscrph, I wasn't aware of the "dress code". Thanks for letting me know. I will have to wear a priestess gown when I eat gnocchi. I made a huge faux pas, I ate them while wearing shorts and a tee-shirt. Hey do you know where I can buy a "prietess gown"? I checked out the Neiman Marcus website and the Saks website and they aren't selling any. Maybe I should try K-Mart instead? Â
  10. OMW!! I am roaring with laughter!! My dogs are looking at me like I have lost my mind!     It's all good though, I'll just give them a treat and they will forgive my fits of laughter as a human thing!  Which reminds me, I gnocchi for lunch today...leftovers...YUM!!Â
  11. Hi Sscrph, Interesting thought.
  12.  Hi Jennpenn, No worries. You should see the number of double postings I have accidentally posted. I sometimes think that my computer is haunted. Either that, or I might not know what I am doing. It wouldn't surprise me, when it comes to my computer skills.Â
  13.  Hi Barb, I just thought I'd send you another or two Â
  14. Hi Jennpenn, Wowie zowie lady! What a theory! I can just picture you wearing a fedora and trench coat while walking around Nathan's hotel room, coming up with the scenario of how things played out.  Your mention of the police scanner is interesting and potentially plausible. I guess the main question would be; when was Nathan's body found? I think that the progression of the theory would rest on that information. If the body wasn't found immediately then I couldn't see Clancy hanging outside of Nathan's hotel room for an indefinite amount of time. The longer that Clancy hangs out, the better the chance of being seen and later identified by some potential witness.  My question would be how would Clancy's FBI brother know about the "hit"? Wouldn't most mobsters tend to be hush hush on something like that? Another quick question; how would Clancy know to take Nathan's bracelet? Why would that be a piece of key evidence?  Now I am thinking...You have given me a lot to think about! Thank you for posting your theory.Â
  15. It certainly added a touch of levity to all of the intense discussions. Â
  16. You are absolutely correct!! I can hardly wait until the next book!! Â
  17. Hi Barb, Have a wonderful weekend!  Â
  18. Hi Nrock, I read your posting and I can see where you are coming from. Your points are just as valid. I think that if Monica ever got involved with someone from the mob, it would have been unknowingly or inadvertently. There has been some speculation that Monica may have dated someone in her younger days, who may have had mob ties. I could have seen Monica realizing what a potentially dangerous situation that could have put her in and I could have seen her ending the relationship as a result of that.  I could also have seen Monica being married to husband #2 and unbeknownst to her, he may have gambled his fortune away and her husband may have gone to a loan shark without Monica's knowledge or consent. I could then see the loan sharks wanting their money and them threatening Monica ( which would have been the first she heard of this situation). That kind of situation could also be potentially plausible.  You are correct in that I couldn't Monica having the tolerance or the fortitude to deal with such a stressful situation for long. I could have seen her pay her husbands debts and then filing for divorce immediately.   I agree with you about Monica paying the blackmail to Nathan wouldn't have been likely. There is no way that could happen, because all deposits and withdrawls leave a paper trail. The police would be able to track Monica's/Stanton's monetary movements and that would bring more suspicion down on them. So I agree that theory wouldn't be plausible.  As for your theory about Monica and Victor, that is also plausible. We know so llittle about those two that it is difficult to come up with solid theories. Thank you for sharing your theories.Â
  19. Hi MicheleWV, You make a good point about Gideon's attention to detail. I am sure that he must have ordered Eva's clothing in advance. That's would remain consistent with all of his previous behaviour. I have never personally shopped for a wedding so I wouldn't quite know, but I am sure that there must be wedding dresses designed specifically for beach weddings.  Thinking about it now, I would have loved to shop with Gideon and see what his vision was for his bride to be.  His choices would have said a lot about how Gideon would have envisioned Eva. I hope I find someone who would love me that much. Sigh. Â
  20. Hi Rogue, I just wanted to wish you a blessed day.
  21. Hi Rogue, I respect where you are coming from. It was my understanding that Elizabeth Vidal made that phone call to Gideon, not Corinne. Corinne wouldn't have been allowed to see anyone for seventy-two hours if she was placed on a psychiatric evaluation.  My assessment of Corinne possibly losing consciousness had something to do with an expert opinion given by a member who explained how or why a miscarriage might occur in an individual. That was mearly one of the possibilities. I also just wanted to clarify that the loss of a baby (i.e. a miscarriage) would make this a serious suicide attempt that in conjunction with her swallowing a bottle of pills. Those are the facts; my interpretation is that this was serious. I could be wrong and that would be more than ok.  Corinne wouldn't have been able to talk to any of her family members at all for the first 24 hours either (unless there were some extreme circumstances) and she most certainly wouldn't have been able to talk with Elizabeth Vidal.  She wasn't family.   Her next of kin, which probably would have been her husband may have been contacted if he gave a US phone number and if not her parents would be considered next of kin and they would have been contacted. Unless the person is in critical condition (and may die), the patient is kept under watch and is evaluated during the hold period.Corinne wouldn't have been chatting with anyone.  I believe that the hospital would have gotten pertinent information on whom to contact from her insurance card or a donor card or some kind of indentification that may have been on her. Whom ever found her may have been able to give basic information about her name, address, next of kin etc. That is just speculation on my part. Thus far we the readers don't know yet. It could also be that Corinne was have been conscious or was unconscious and then awoke. Who know's?  The doctors would be busy trying to assess what Corinne's issues were and who might make her current situation worse. Once they stabilize her, then they would talk about whom she would like to see and maybe possible visitors later on if aproved. I guess we will have to wait and see what Sylvia writes in her next book to find out just exactly how this scenario played out. Thank you for the discussion.Â
  22. What a delicious photo!! Â
  23.   I agree. That is one beautiful photo!
