Also. I think there is tension between Carey and Gideon (less so now) initially because Gideon sees how much Caret lives Eva to the point that he asked Eva flat out about it. As Gideon now understands the love between the two, he has become more accepting and not acting super jealous. These two will need to arrive at an epiphany of some kind and truly have a heart to heart (Gideon and Eva) eventually. Interestingly, I am always intrigued by the way Carey is like this researcher of some kind, always putting together a doosey per Eva's request. He sure has some interesting skills, no? I think this will come into play more and more

@Gigi- you may have mis-read that post or maybe I wasn't clear. I wasn't suggestion Gideon was heading down such path, I said (or meant to say) these are things he had to deal with and possible Christopher Jr. might be the one doing this and the like. Apologies for the confusion.

Enough about Nathan's murder. I don't think its warranted. I respect everyone's opinions, but like I said countless times there are much larger issue for these characters to deal with than Nathan. There is a reason why he was killed off so abruptly. He isn't relevant. The large focus should be on Gideon abuse, his character development, his relationship with Eva, his sister who hero worships him and his half brother who purportedly despises him. Whatever happen with Nathan should be wrapped up in 3 sentences and be done with or even a few paragraps. Lol I really don't want to direct efforts to reading that much about Nathan in RIY as he isn't essential.

@GiGi. not sure what happened to my posting but wanted to address your quesiton about the embezzlement part> Â It was when Cary and Eva took that trip and Gidoen went to San Diego i believe. When he met Eva and Cary back at the hotel and Eva asked if he wrapped up whatever it was he needed to he said yes and that he hated embezzlement. I think it was then Eva asked about how he has become so rich and he told her he used to count cards. I will have to go back but it was in BTY. WIll find the specific pages but it was right after Cary had the orgy debacle and he and Eva did their much needed trip

You are not. I have said he didnt do it from the onset. I feel like I have exhausted myself saying this but frankly there isnt any more need for talks about N----N...I dont even want to say his name. He was not an essential character and the focus of the book should not be about his murder. It is unwarranted.

I vehemently disagrees. Cary and Eva's relationship I freaking awesome and unique. He isn't on no team Brett. I can see why he didn't tell her and it was friendly mischievous. Please stop casting Cary in a negative light. The reason he and Eva are so creaking close is because they get each other and know each other and communicate on a level where sometimes words aren't needed. Just one look and they get each other. Despite his feelings about Eva, he asked her how she felt about Gideon all the time and helps her walk through her feelings. Once Eva confirms her comittment to Eva, he said "okay." He isn't undermining Eva and Gideon's relationship. This is really a far fetched idea and I am kind of disappointed you hit will even entertain this idea. I know everyone has their own opinions and the like but .... That was really uncall for. He and Eva have what you call a true bond. No judgment and total acceptance of each other and they constantly say, they got each others back meaning they will support each other and would never do anything less than.... Phew! Again, really disappointed you guys will contemplate this

@Gigi- I don't think Ian(I think that was the orgy guy's name) was lucid enough to reminder but the two girls definitely got a good lock at Gideon. I really don't want to be reading about Nathan in the upcoming book as such a cold creature is a waste of paper/ink. Lol Whatever happens to him needs to be wrapped up in a bow and tucked away

This premise will work if the focus of the book will be about Nathan's death. As stated in another forum, to give further attention to such a vile creature as Nathan is unnecessary and unwarranted at this point in these characters development. I think there is going to be an easy explanation as to what happen to Nathan and the larger focus will be more about Gideon and his character development. I think possible we will be seeing things from Gideon's eyes and Eva's throughout the book ( interchangeable which would be refreshing and welcomed). I want to get a read on Gideon's thoughts, lol as that makes for such delicious reading, no? For Nathan to have been relevant, his character would not have been killed off so quickly and then a better show down will be Eva using her new defense skills to kick his butt.... There is a reason he was killed off so early. He is not that relevant. There are much juicy issues to explore with Gideon and his family as a whole. And honestly, I don't think Gideon killed Nathan. A creature like Nathan, Eva was not his only victim. Christopher Jr just may get a close up view of Eva'd defense training as his resentment towsrds Gideon knows no boundaries. I won't be shocked if he had been meddling in Gideon's buisness affairs re: trying to make it seem like he was embezzling funds (yes, there was mentioned in RIY that Gideon got hand to potential embezzlement activities).
-
Nathan is a serial rapist and Eva was not his only victim. Victor was I think tracking Nathan...
-
Don't think Victor is as "clueless" as we may have been led to think. I think he knew what happened to Eva, knew Nathan was in town stalking her and he did his "impromptu" visit.

I think this first clue is about Brett re: snapshot of a life back then. I think this is how we see Brett coming back into the picture and playing some kind of huge role?

Very dangerous if there is any press out there about Gideon's connection to a crime and also with Corrine in general. I say this as then it opens the possibility that those 3 individuals whom Cary had is sexual escapades with wherein Gideon physically attacked the guy who was coming on to Eva and Cary later commented that The girls flew out of the apartment fast because they were scared. Cary mentioned that unless the guy Gideon attacked and the other two girls who were in on the sex escapades don't connect that none will be the wiser. Work any potentially news out there linking Gideon to a violent act um what if the guy he attacks recognizes him.... This adds fire to the flame so I am praying this isn't some clue about any association between Gideon and the murder of Nathan...

Sylvia is going to be posting snap shots, twice a week every Tuesdays and Fridays. She just poste one now. This is sooo fun!!! Now we get to really speculate. The first one is out now, you guys seen it??? Thoughts?

It who knows, I am sure Eva wasn't Nathan's only victim so it could be someone else he vilified (attempted to hint hint Corrine) killed him. I don't want to have any further thoughts about Nathan though.

You guys are potentially over-analyzing things though. I don't think the bulk of EWY will be about Nathan. To give that much "importance" to him in continuing to create problems for Eva and Gideon I don't see frankly. There was a reason why he was killed off so quickly and there wasn't any show-down between him and Eva re: her putting her training into use and kicking his butt. I think the circumstances around his death will be nicely tied up in a bow and issues surrounding Gideon (his history, family) and buisness (there were hints of this in RIY where there was potential embezzlement) will take center stage. I see EWY being more about Gideon and from the snippets thus far while I thought things were going to be written from Gideon's side of things, I believe SD is switching from Gideon/Eva interchangeable throughout RIY. Also, Brett will potentially be back so with character development and presence like these, I don't think it's necessary to stretch out this Nathan thing. There is also deeper probe needed into Carey whom I freaking love and adore so hoping for another book and really for the saga to continue. Lol. I have long stated that either Monica or Corrine killed Nathan and Gideon is aware of who has done it. And that scene with Eva having a girls night out, remember in EWY, she asked Gideon if he would object to her having an all girls night out and his subsequent response.... I think, it's evidence of him compromising a bit. She is still at his club where he has eyes on here movements. So in essence, enough about Nathan whatever happened to him deserve a mere paragraph or 2 the most and have this tied up and done with and emphasis Should be on much important things. Anything else will be a let down. Just my thoughts.... And apologies for any typos as I am thinking way faster than I am typing,

I have realized when read the paper copy I can pick up on more things that on my kindle. Electronic device enables a vast read but with the book I can focus more. It should be right after Eva and Megaumi came from lunch, into her going to Gideon's office after seeing Corrine's disheveled look. My kindle has these scene as end of chapter 2, into early beginning if chapter 3. Same as the book. I don't know what pages on your nook this will be though.

force of release*

I dont think anal (hence no evidence of abuse) and if potentially oral that it was done to him and not him forced to do it. That it hurt because when one gets an there is a reason why its called a "small death" that the toon and release to a kid was confusing and hurtful. Sex without love is painful, forcing the body to release (enter into an orgasmic experience) is equally painful as well. Just my thoughts though. I love speculating to pass the wait.
-
I think Eva doesn't hate Corrine either, I think she hate Corrine had an experience with Gideon. So do I (lol). Eva and Gideon but hate (dislike is mediocre term to use) the fact that the other shared experiences with other partners/lovers. Their connection is that powerful that despite their abuse, like Eva said, they are both virgins having sex, making love, F(&^*** for the first time :)

I meant Carry wasn't Attacked* sorry for the typos :)
-
You dislike Corrine as you have the Eva reaction which I got as she did share an experience with Gideon, I actually appreciate her contribution to Gideon's development as it enabled him to realize she isn't the one for him. It would have been nice if he and Eva were each others 1st consensual relationship subsequent to abuse. Ps- I think also Gideon was molested, that his abuser nasturbated him initially (hence his scream of "no don't touch me, it hurts" nightmares and outburst and hence the lack of physical evidence. It was unwanted sex but not in the sense of what we typically think.

Read my above posts. I think she did have a "tumble" with Nathan and he tried to violate her and she killed him. That she called Gideon for help, I think thy both met in the buildings and potentially both were there to see Eva who was out . Or Corrine was there to see Eva who was out and ran into Nathan who just came from seeing Gideon and fighting with him. He subsequently manipulated Corrine or maybe (and this is far fetched) Nathan researched Gideon, found out about Corrine convinces her to come back as she will be able to reunite with Gideon and he Eva an potentially they were in cohorts until Corrine really saw his evil side. I think there is more to Corrine's character and I actually do like her. I equally think there is more interactions that occurred between Nathan and Corrine as well. Since this is written from Eva's perspective and not 3rd person we of course don't have all the pieces but just seeing things from Eva's eyes. My vote is Corrine killed Nathan and also Cary wasn't attach by Nathan but by someone else as Monica stated (I posted this earlier) that Cary was supposedly warned to stay away from "her" meaning the bf or whatever of one of his lovers attacked him an this had nothing to do with Nathan.

Think we should just all go back to those pages and really read and visualize each character's movement,no? It opens up soo many possibilities!

Apologies for typos... Thinking faster than typing as usual :)
