  1. broke down and got the The Marked Series bundle.  Just finished Eve of Chaos.   The ending was very up in the air!!.  Who was the "dark" stranger and was there a ring in the glass.?   Hope the Eve of Sin City has some answers and I guess I have to get Eve of Warfare if I am going to get some answers.  I did enjoy reading them even though at times they were really confusing.

Maybe we can discuss these books since we don't have the Crossfire series anymore.

    Cheers

I am wondering what this is about, but probably just that a count down to Gideon's birthday was a reasonable way to publicise the song release.  Don't forget if you buy the song via iTunes you get a booklet (not sure what that will be as the digital booklet is usually the artwork of a cd so will include details of the songwriter, singer, possibly the musicians involved.

also I read in her sylviaday.com website that if you bought the kindle version thru Penguin that you would later receive the song.  Don't know how that works, but she did say more info to come.  I'll wait and see

I agree with everyone on the site lol.

I miss Gideva more everyday and I'm really disappointed that OWY was not all that we wanted it to be. That being said very few are chatting bout it and that makes everything worse. At this time with the other books there would at least be 50 pages of book chat. I'm sure a writer writes because they have a story to tell  and if they are lucky they write a career changing series such as Crossfire. I just dont understand what the hurry was to end this series. It could have gone at least 3 more books and would obviously have been a lucrative project. Gideva are just an interesting couple and obviously alot of people like reading about them. They were very complex characters and their married life and the lives of those connected to them would have  been an  interesting read.

I do have a question I would like everyone to weigh in on if you will... At the beachhouse when Victor's family was present Eva mused that Monica had never been a part of that scene because Victor's family scorned her  because she broke Victor's heart. This lead me to believe that Monica had met Victor's family at some  point and perhaps was considering a life with him. So what made her change her mind? Perhaps the answers are in the journals she left Eva but as a reader I really would have rather had that story instead of the convoluted story of Jackson Tramell. Your thoughts?

Any story about Monica's past would have been better than the one we got. That said I too miss Gideva, their story could gone on for many more books. I think Sylvia was tired of writing their story and wanted to move on to something else.  I loved the Crossfire series and am sad not to have something to look forward to.

still upset with Gideon for his Cinco de Mayo mishap with those two women. Lost a little respect for him then.  Miss you guys. Laters

    Hi Crossfire fans,

What happened to Jackson Tramell's sister Monica?  I'm a little confused.  Didn't the research tell him that "Monica" has two children and Eva had a sister?  Please explain this to me?  Huge fan of this series!

    Cindy

Nothing really was said about the real Monica, other than she wrote the parents obituary, she did have children and she had a last name that started with D.  That was confusing for "Monica " to take her sister in law's name . Her whole backstory was weird

    Hope this helped

I totally agree with you she is too forgiving and I still don't trust Resi. I would have liked more about her pregnancy and the birth like how they felt when they had a girl.

Mom glad you enjoyed it as I did too.

I was glad that Blake didn't feel he needed to see Sophia after he got that phone call from that Dom who owned The Club.  Reminded me of Corrine from Crossfire and her attempts to get Gideon back

I understand what you are saying, I did enjoy reading the series. Let me know when you finish I'd like to know what you thought at the end.

I enjoyed the series. It did have a HEA. At least all the storylines were wrapped up. Erica is too forgiving , especially of Daniel, even if he was her father. He hit her, threatened her and made her leave her boyfriend and had his own step son killed . At least he came through in the end. I'm still not sure of Resi.

would have liked more of the pregnancy. Overall very good

Yes, I think some parts are intense with drama some I cry, chuckle and gasp. I'm finishing book 3 now and will start book 4 right after. Eve says it has a HEA. My heart goes out to Erica and Blake. Let me know what you decide I looked up her website before I purchased them

Well I have just finished book 4. It has been good. A cross between FSOG and Crossfire series. Just can't put my brain around letting someone hit you repeatedly (with hand, paddle, or belt) and have it turn you on. Poor Erica can't catch a break. Hope they both get their HEA.  Starting book 5 now

I downloaded the series to my Kindle.  I will have a lot of reading to do during my upcoming holiday!!  Did you ever read any of the books I suggested by Sylvia?  If so, I hope you will enjoy them.  Glad that you liked the Calendar Girl series; that was some really HOT reading especially May in Hawaii.

I am not sure I am reading your post correctly.   If you are responding regarding the photo that Hall  (disturbed individual) had taken  that photo was not taken at Gideon's bachelor party in Brazil.  The photo in question (with 2 women) was taken before he met Eva.  It only surfaced at the time of the bachelor party.  Gideon has not been with other women since he met Eva.

If I am incorrect, please correct my post.

I think the point trying to be said was the headlines read Bachelor party in Brazil. How did Hall know where Gideon was?  You know tabloids they 'll print anything

  10. Sylvia. Loved OWY but...  How did that photo of Gideon get taken in that VIP section. Thought Gideon only did stuff like that at his f**kpad.  He should have known better

  11. what is so upsetting about the picture, is that Gideon said he only had sex (of any kind) in his hotel fuc**ad.  He even took Corine there and stated in OWY he couldn't spend the night at the hamptons with her because of his nightmares and  he couldn't f**k Corine there.  Like how shocked he was with himself in BTY when in his office he kissed Eva and almost got carried away.  He said in my GD office in the middle of the GD day.....In CBY he said he may not rent out Eva's apartment again because it held so many fond memories.  The first time that he couldn't wait to get her to his pad.....he remembered putting his hands and mouth on her ( and he had never done that before).  Through out the series he maintained that personna and to see (imaging) in that photo what he was doing is quite disturbing.  What is truth and what is not?

I read the Calendar Girl series and loved it. Is the Georgian Series complete? What did you think about Afterburn and Aftershock? I don't know the other two authors.

Yes, the Georgian Series is complete.  They are 4 stand alone stories, but some of the characters are featured in each book.  Afterburn/Aftershock was good as are the following:

Spellbound, Seven Years to Sin, Pride and Pleasure, Lucien's Gamble,  The Stranger I Married, All Revved Up, and last but not least the Shadow Stalkers mini-series all Sylvia Day books.  Anderson wrote the Cold Justice series, they are stand alone stories with some characters featured in other Justice titles and Grant wrote the Evidence Series.  You should enjoy them all!!

I am having a hard time letting this series go, I need to find something to read now that will make me very  very happy at the end, I am looking for a series that is completed. Anyone have any ideas. I will reread Crossfire probably many many times again. I have read OWY 3 times and I do see closure on a couple of things I think I am just sad that it's over.

sme I hope you are feeling better, I haven't spoken to you in about a week.

D500, jmhope, sscrph and Nathalia I hope all of you are well also. Let me know what series you suggest I would appreciate it.

I enjoyed the Georgian Series. I mentioned Rachel Grant and Toni Anderson in another post. The Calendar Girl series.  Really anything that Sylvia Day writes.

    I miss Gideva too

Or it can mean that Ireland is NOW 17...I think "not being underage" in the US means 21?(Where i come from it's 18)...So we have to wait at least 4 years? If I'm correct...

Since the Crossfire series only covered 3-4 months Ireland is still 17 going on 18.  I'm thinking that Sylvia is waiting for her to be in college or almost graduating....23-24 years old.  We don't want her to be "jail bait" or Gideon would really flip out!!

  15. In reading this series some of my emotional moments:.

In BTY when Eva found out at the benefit that Gideon had actually been engaged before and that woman was now in NY and was the one who called at the first benefit they went to and Gideon left her to help (Corrine of course)

RIY practically the entire book. I was so upset that Gideon was acting and treating Eva that way.  Especially that limo drive to NC.  I felt for Eva when her father pointed out yet ANOTHER photo of Gideon with Corrine and that is when she called Gideon and said that they were OVER.

My favorite book was EWY. It was a happy setting.  They got back together, married, etc.

I know they are fictional characters but they have been in my dull life for four years.  I'll really miss the Crossfire Series.

Thanks Sylvia for bringing excitement to my life

I may be missing something!  Could someone put in order what happened to Monica in case I'm wrong!  Her mother left her.  Her twin sister got raped and beaten and drugged by someone named Jackson.  Then she married this Jackson person.  Then she met Victor and got pregnant.  Then Jackson  beat her up - and THEN she killed him.  THEN she took the family for a bunch of money to pay for the care of her sister.   WHERE DID THE NAME MONICA COME FROM?  Why was she a debutant for her husbands family - none of this adds up to me.   It takes 5 book to write a few months and this is covered in what - a page and a half?

Your timeline is pretty much correct except.....When she left Eva's mother had only the clothes on her back and that Katherine's care was totally on her.  The name Monica was Jackson's sister....(Tramells valued their reputation and the reputation of their debutante daughter Monica.  since Eva's mother never took any credit in that name, Monica Tramell, she was able to "steal"that identy.  I know, this was a very confusing storyline.

I just read that excerpt and I see where he was mentioned. I never read afterburn/aftershock. It is good and are more books suppose to be out or did it stop at the two? The way I'm looking at the Blacklist Series is I probably will wait until all books are released the waiting makes me too anxious so I'm thinking it will be at least two years before there is a second book and then longer if there are more. I can only speak for myself that I prefer to have all book readily available (like the calendar series and fifty shades except for Christians POV which is driving me crazy waiting).

Like I said I am rereading OWY slowly maybe I will feel better don't get me wrong I loved they had a HEA but I'm greedy and wanted more.

I agree with you. I felt Raul should be her bodyguard (if I needed one boy oh boy I would pick him).

Afterburn and Aftershock I enjoyed reading.  Glad that I got them both together.  I felt that the ending of Aftershock was rather rushed, but overall a good read.  Jax and Gia made a cute couple.  Grey is Christian's POV and has been out since June  (his birthday) are you thinking that his POV will be coming out for the rest of the series? That would be nice too

Yeah, it's just not something Gideon would do, this has been reinforced through his thoughts and actions several times throughout the series. It's a pretty big thing for editors to overlook, especially since most of us picked up on the mistake on a first read through. But the books been published so it is what it is. The whole Monica dying thing was really the only other thing that  bummed me out. I'm sure there was another way to get the story out without putting Gideon and Eva through more tragedy. I was expecting there to be "dark moment"/ one of the characters being "touch and go for a while"; like there are in most books, but I never expected such an important character dying.  On the bright side I loved how Gideon and Eva interacted in this book, I liked how they came to together as a team, and could joke and just be at ease with one another. It was good to finally see them as "Gideon and Eva Cross".

I'm probably rambling, but I was thinking that this is a series that could have went on for 10+ books, they could have started production on the T.V series even though the books weren't finished. I think that there are like 8+ books in the Games of Thrones series and it is probably one of the most popular series on HBO, and the books are still super popular even though the author has been stalling on the last book in the series for a while. But that's probably not going to happen.

Outlander is produced on STARZ and they are doing a great job.  Season two starts 4/9/16 based on Diana's second book Dragonfly in Amber can't wait.  There are 8 books so far in this series and #9 will be coming out hopefully next year.  DG has stated that it takes roughly 2-3 years for her to write one of her books (after all they are over a 1,000 pages!)

The further into Captivated I get the more quotes I find and the more frustrated I get...

Still, the apartment would always be a special place to me. I would never forget the way Eva had looked the first time I'd come over. Naked beneath a thigh-length silk robe, her face made up for the night ahead, a diamond anklet winking at me. Teasing me.

I had lost all rational thought. I'd put my mouth on her, my hands all over her, and my fingers and tongue inside her. I hadn't even thought about getting her to the "fuckpad." I wouldn't have been able to wait, even if I had. She wasn't like any woman who'd come before her. Not just because of who she was, but also because of who I was when I was with her.

    I mean seriously??!

Yes, that was the quote I was looking for!  Another way Gideon acting towards those two women and not in private.  Arash said that he tagged two women during Cinco de Mayo, I just figured that Gideon met them wherever they were partying and took them to his fuc*pad, not behaved so badly in a semi-private place....had to be semi-private if Arash saw him with them.

Anyways, I still enjoyed the book, sorry that it is over, I will miss Gideon and Eva, haven't seen the tweet that said that Sylvia would write about Ireland.  Fingers crossed that this happens and that Gideon and Eva are mentioned.

Oh, wasn't too thrilled to learn that Gideon did look for someone to get Eva out of his mind (in BTY when he "found" her at his club and they hung out together for the first time); he was free to do so but was surprised that he actually told Eva about it.  I guess he is trying to be more honest .

I am rereading it slowly, I am not sure how I want to comment.  But yes I love Lucky too.  I wanted a HEA and I received it. D500, sscrph,  jmhope, Nathalia, and BettyY37 I truly enjoyed chatting with you, I have been reading all of the comments (welcome to the new/newer members as well). I am not done I just don't know what to say, I will probably as I go along.

It was nice  "chatting " with you also.  I probably won't read the Blacklist until both books are out. It reminds me of afterburn/aftershock.  I read the excerpt for too close and Gideon was sorta mentioned "he was now the most eligible bachelor since ? Just announced his marriage.

i wish we were happier with OWY

  20. I stated in a prior post that I loved this book.  I still do, (the entire series in fact) but as some have stated some areas were lightly covered.  Like Monica's back story...maybe I was too tired from reading all day, but her story was really confusing.   am re-reading slowly now so maybe everything will make more since.  I agree....Gideon should have been more careful, I too thought he only did things in his fu**pad hotel.  that's why he and his  friends only stayed in NY.  I couldn't believe that they went so far out of town for the bachelor/bachelorette weekend; they should have combined the two knowing how jealous both Gideon and Eva are.  and I really couldn't believe that Monica came along.  Who brings their mother to that type of party.?!  If someone had to die I guess Monica was all right, better than it being Gideon or Eva.  Eva did get over her Mother's death really quick.

Gideon talking with his step-father so quick about how Hugh would have been too wiped after him to have done anything with Christopher so soon after.  He never was that explicit with Eva. The handling of Deanna is still a mystery.  Did she take a job at CI? and if so as what?  A pain in the Arse and a BIG mistake?  The book, now will it be published? and Victor deciding to move to NY and Gideon just happened to have a contract already made out with the salaries of Angus and Raul.  Don't think Victor would let them have s*x in the limo while he was driving!!

But Sadly, I am sorta depressed that the Crossfire Series is over.  It is like I have lost some good friends.  An epilogue five years in the future would have been better than them on their honeymoon.  I guess they brought Lucky along so that they could still sleep together in the same bed.    After my second read, if I remember anything I will post.

I guess you could call it a wake for Monica at the beach house in NC....that is sorta when Gideon and Eva privately renewed their vows by Gideon giving Eva that diamond band.  He certainly spent some $$ on her this book....that diamond necklace, earrings and the ruby bracelet, etc
