Can't decided which POV I enjoyed more.  Wish she could keep both in the book.  From the way she explained this exerpt, seems she has been doing some editing on OWY even though she had said that it was finished.

I am curious about a few things.....How did Arash know that Gideon "tagged" two women during Cinco de Mayo?  Since he only had sex at his hotel?  He said again when looking at the photos with Corrine that he couldn't f**k her there cause the hotel that he did that was miles away.....  interesting  Hope we find out what the flowers were for and what the card attached said.

Loved loved this exerpt hope this means we will either get more or maybe a release date!!!

 

 

when she put up the choices for Eva....between Amber Heard and Julieanne Hough, neither in my opinion.  Margot Robie is my choice.  The only scene that Julieanne H would be good for is the foxtrot that she dances with Cary at the Garden Party in BTY.

 

As for Mark, my choice would be Shemar Moore.     This site has been extremely quiet lately.....I guess we are all just waiting patiently.....   At least we can look forward to 6/18/15

excited about the quick release date too!!  Thoroughly enjoyed his POV at the end of Fifty Shades Freed.....  Saw that CBY was released in Finland on her website, so I guess the hold up for OWY is that CBY hasn't been released "world wide" yet. 

​in US amazon, it is not even listed.     If I was Sylvia, as an author, I would be embarrassed to know that my publisher wouldn't have enough faith in my readers and her to give another author competition.  Think that I read in a release that Penguin is handling the publishing in the UK. (guess Penguin can't handle too much at one time)

I have said this before but I am saying it again.  I hope the powers that be at Lionsgate will take notice of how an outstanding job the producers, writers, and directors did with developing the Outlander series on STARZ.  They kept pretty close to the book and when it took a turn towards the dark side they did not shy away from the topic and depicted it very well.  Kudos to all the actors, they were amazing.  "Hint Hint"  Sylvia, hopefully the group developing the Crossfire series will do it justice as how the group with the Outlander series did!!!!

well, the website is almost back to normal....hurray....still looks different, but at least the tweets show up..... the community section which used to be at the bottom of page is still missing.    .if her web people want to do anything, they should update her Sylviaday.com website...   hasn't been updated since 3/2/15   Her coming soon page should at least mention OWY

I too was reading and writing at four thanks to my mum.

For Gideon it is obviously important to see some good in his dad, he accepts he was a criminal whose actions affected not only Gideon and Elizabeth's lives, but also the lives of many, many other people. So on top of everything else Gideon feels some guilt for those people, plus no matter what the problem is with his mother (assuming there is something other than her disbelieving his abuse), and despite the fact she re-married, he feels a duty to protect her and ensure she never has to go through the shame of losing her position in society again - hence his support of Vidal records to ensure his stepfather's business continues.

That is why we love Gideon ( and of course Eva ).... he thinks more of other people than he does of himself!!

I was looking at the quote that someone tweeted about Gideon saying "My father destroyed countless lives, but he taught me how to ride a

bike and to sign my name with pride"

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't know of any four year that can sign his name (no matter how brillant he is). His father

may have "shown" him how he signs his name, but I can't see a child doing it. The bike riding is a stretch too, maybe he had training

wheels.

Had to do something....still just waiting patiently for a release date for OWY. Come on Penguin get with the program!

Glad that I have found another fan and avid watcher!!! Now I have something to look forward to on Saturday night!!

Not getting a snippet doesn't bode well for OWY coming out soon.

My biggest concern is that OWY doesn't show up on her Coming Soon page on her website At least I now have the Outlander series

on STARZ to entertain me!!! The make-up love scene at the end of the new episode put FSOG to shame. Hopefully whoever

Lionsgate chooses to broadcast the Crossfire series does the books justice as had STARZ network done with

Outlander. Watch Outlander...it is

terrific!!!

yea, I posted that site on another thread a couple of weeks ago..... I had to change my alliegence to Jaime and Claire....in 8 books and

hard times, being separated for 20 years those two have kept each other very happy and Jamie says some of the most romantice things to Claire

But I still love Gideon and Eva....

If anybody hasn't read the Outlander series, it is a GREAT read....8 books with around 900 pages each, but worth it!!

Starz is featuring it in their original series, excellant and it comes back April 4!!!

I think that Gideon will be the overprotective father and Eva will be the cooler mother.  They will flirty with one another and kiss one another constantly while their kids will be sighing and making comments about how grossed out they are that their mother and father kiss so much...a.k.a. just like every other kid who happens to see their parents kissing..yuck! 

this reminded me of the scene in EWY on page 95 where Eva is quoting "Kindergarten Cop" when the twins say "our Mom says that

our Dad is a real sex machine".... then later she says "you won't be laughing when your kids tell their teachers

the same things about you." and his reply "Since they'd have to hear it from you, I'd know who it was that really

needed the spanking." and she mulled the idea that he envisioned a future she was afraid to imagine

also at herosandheartbreakers.com there is a "swoonies" contest between different characters in several books. In the historical

category Jaime and Claire (from Outlander) are leading the way. In the contemporary category our Gideon and Eva are winning. This

has been fun to watch and participate in. Has anyone else seen this?

Good theory. I also think the nightmares are part of the reason for not being able to stay in the same bed all night, he probably had nightmares before he met Corrine - could they be part of the reason Christopher dislikes him? Did Gideon at some point attack Christopher in his sleep?

Apart from Anne and Eva, seems like all his women had a similarity to his mother, he indicated problems with 'getting it up' with Anne (unsurprisingly due to her resemblance to Hugh), can't remember if he had such problems with other women, there was something about how he would ultimately dominate them (I can't recall the words used so can't look them up on my iBooks app). Was he drawn to those women or did they seek him out? When choosing Deanna to escape from Anne, he went true to type. Little wonder when he saw Eva in the street and thought she was an angel, he must have been more than desperate to get with her.

I have also momentarily wondered how long he has known Monica for - in CBY we get "I'd heard some say my wife was as breathtaking as her mother, but I disagreed. Monica Stanton was a cool beauty, one who gave off the air of being slightly out of reach. Eva was all heat and sensuality - you could reach her, but her passion would scorch you." Had he possibly been at an event with Monica in the past and seen how she was with Stanton, perhaps been envious that Stanton had a beauty on his arm who meant the world to him. Could something like that have primed him to notice Eva that first day?

I spent some time going through various groups on Good Reads related to the Crossfire novels, I'd never be able to find any of them again but one person did say that we should read Seven Years to Sin and remember that Gideon is not who we (at the time she was writing) think he is. I know that novel inspired Sylvia to write the Crossfire series, not sure though if it was intended that the way the characters behaved was to be similar (I've not read Seven Years, just know the guy had prostituted himself).

There have been a lot of subtle hints along the way that Gideon's knowledge of sex, bdsm, whatever, was more than was being made known via Eva's POV. It's only in CBY this begins to be confirmed, although he still avoids answering any direct questions such as any past experience of a sex swing.

If the hotel was the only place that Gideon had consensual sex, how did he afford it? If he was in college he was probably between the

ages of 18-22. I still wonder how he got his money. If he got it gambling (as he said in RIY) he had to be over 21. Hopefully Vidal

gave him some money or an "allowance". He probably didn't own the hotel in college just "rented" the room for the night???

A big chunk of Gideon was revealed in CBY that we had no idea of. How strongly he felt about control to the point of the BDSM, but

I don't think it is to ( I hope) the extreme of CG in FSOG. Too bad he didn't start talking to Sylvia sooner, then we wouldn't

have so many questions.

That may be true Rogue but I think it makes Corinne look desperate if she still releases her book if the marriage is announced... people will be more interested in the secret nuptials than reading about a socialite's sour grapes... What would be the point in someone buying her book if Gideon is married to someone else?? The whole book thing just makes Corinne look incredibly pathetic. If she is thinking about landing another mogul( not Gideon) to secure her future this is a big mistake. Any potential billionaire suitor would be thinking twice before getting involved with her due to her vindictive nature...

Why doesn't she go back to her husband??? Maybe he doesn't want her back, since she left him to go after another man. That way she would be in France and our troubles would be over

Just saw the movie "Focus" starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie. It was petty good, much better than the "Kingsman" Margot would make a great Eva, but like Henry Cavill, she is almost a star and probably wouldn't take a TV acting job, even if it was on a premium channel. Margot is very pretty,has blond hair and has gray eyes!!!

In my 2/27/15 Entertainment Weekly magazine they had an article titled "Fifty Shades Afterglow" They had a blurb about the Crossfire series with Lionsgate and I quote " Fans of Sylvia Day's hit series are waiting in breathless anticipation to see who will play calculating billionaire Gideon Cross and sexually adventurous Eva Tramell on Lionsgate's upcoming television series adaptation." and they had a photo of the cover of BTY

we certainly are waiting breathlessly and almost impatiently !!!

as for Eva giving her notice at work....she and Mark have both said that she would lose her job if Mark left. Thought Mark decided to stay with Waters Field and Leaman and that is why Eva said that even if he stayed that she couldn't work on the LanCorp project. Maybe LanCorp is making a stink about Eva not working on the project and that is why she is really leaving. Hopfully she will be working on the CrossRoads Foundation and maybe Crisis Management and PR with Cross Industries!!

Wish we had an inkling about when OWY will be coming out....

I think this scene takes place Friday, after they have had their meeting with Dr. P and perhaps dinner liked they planned at the end of CBY. Maybe Corrine was making a scene in the lobby and to make it stop Gideon relented and let her see him. To go over the "good times" that they had by going down picture/memeory lane? Glad that he let Eva in so that she could have seen them together.

Interesting that Eva quit her job.....wonder what she will do now? Plan a wedding...GREAT!!!!

As for the tell all book of Corrine's....maybe her publisher is like Penquin (real slow) and that they will take at least 6 months to a year to get the book out....that gives Gideon plenty of time to buy it and put a stop to letting that book out!!!

Has anyone seen what Sylvia is refering to in CBY? I was hoping for some answers in OWY.

I think when Eva said she was confused about Brett in the first chapter talking with Gideon.....also when talking with Dr. Travis, he pointed out that maybe she was conflicted about Brett was because she didn't believe that she deserved anyone better and to be treated the way that Brett treated her....(maybe just a good piece of A**). IDK....
