 GLH I have a feeling that Hugh's son might be involved at some point. Gideon feels guilty about the suicide and understands how the boy will feel his father deserted him. I'm thinking the whole family (Anne, Terry & Hugh Jr.) are going to do something.  Also we know Eva is going to get Liz & Gideon together to discuss the past. That will bring up memories.  Christopher Jr. is a problem. I still believe that he saw what was going on and was threaten by Hugh and/or he was abused too but didn't say anything.

Books as good as the Crossfire series

I just finished the first six books of the Song of Submission series by CD Reiss. The seventh and final book is due out next week. Jonathan and Monica have a lot of issues to work through with family and an ex-wife a major hurdle. The couple is almost as captivating as Gideon and Eva. I will caution that there is a Dom/sub relationship and some scenes are very rough. It is well written and the reader can't help but cheer for the couple. The books are very easy reads. Amazon has the 1st 3 on sale in a bundle for .99. It is a cheap investment to see if you like the story. -
 You are so right. I remember I got a lump in my throat when Gideon told Eva he wished it hurt more. It is so obvious by his nightmares that it hurt a lot and regardless if it hurt at all it shouldn't have happened. I feel so bad for him. I know there will be many, many tears as I read this book.

 Kristen, So true. I've missed talking to you but I have read many of the books you suggested. I was hoping everyone would return as soon as Sylvia posted something. I love the insight, debates and all round fun banter.  BTW I see there will be another Book Bash in Orlando next year. They posted that the tickets will go on sale in January. I set a reminder so I can get in. They are sure it will be a sell out again.

 You are right Kirsten. She brought up not taking his name and he wouldn't hear it. Eva's past combined with Gideon's is sure to cause pain.

 It is funny you said this because several people I talked to feel the same way.  As I read through it again I'm wondering if Gideon is closing himself off, like going to California and not telling Eva, and she called him on it. Maybe the confrontation is at Dr. Petersen's office and Gideon does a duck and hide maneuver resulting in Eva telling him something like "It is time for you to talk." You know Gideon is going to fight her until she brings him through to the other side. He won't give her up but it is probably a difficult journey with terrible nightmares and confrontations.

 I don't think anyone is nervous in a bad way. We all know the happy ending will be at the end of book 5 we are just curious about the journey. It seems to me the anxiety most of us feel is concern for Eva & Gideon. As far as the people on this forum we love Sylvia, her books and these characters in particular. I don't believe one of the long time members feel anything but joy that we have this snippet.

I posted a message to Sylvia that we are killing her characters and only she can save them with some information. I wonder if this means we have to stop our little game? :-)

 Me too. I just remember how I cried reading the interrogation scene when Eva & Gideon were hurting so badly. I think there are going to be a lot of these scenes in this book. I do hope Sylvia keeps with her tradition, and at least ending with a hopeful last paragraph.

. I don't see how this can be an issue Eva can request a copy of her marriage license from the Caribbean government. Besides Angus wants Gideon and Eva happy so he will see she gets them if needed.

 The only spanking discussed was playful threats until Entwined Chapter 12 on the 10th floor "I like messy. I stepped out of my dress and was about to unhook my bra when he tossed me over his shoulder. I squealed in surprise, smacking his taut Arse with both of my hands. He spanked me hard enough to sting..."  Even though there was pain I think it was still playful spanking.Â

For the record I have always liked Monica and I don't think she is a bad mother at all. Her problem is she is too focused on money and didn't see the warning signs of her daughter's abuse. As we find out Monica's secrets in CBY I think more people will view her more favorably.  That said, she doesn't deserve Victor and I firmly believe she will not be pregnant. She knows her need of money and both Victor & Monica know she can't settle for being a cops wife.  Everything we learned from Eva & Cary is that Stanton loves Monica and does his best to make her happy. I don't think Monica will give that up.

 sscrph I think it was at the meet & greet in Orlando a couple months back. If I'm not mistaken we were talking about Eva & Gideon's wonderfully hot s ex scenes and someone yelled out "Will Gideon ever get Eva in that swing?" Sylvia replied "Most definitely!:  I'm going to look for my notes. If anyone gets to go to a meet & greet they are really fun.
