  1. My recollection of genetics is that the X chromosome of the mother can often dominate the short Y chromosome that the father contributes for their sons and that same X will do the same for the daughters over the father's X. However, if the mom gives her child her other X, the recessive X, you get Christopher.
  2. OPINION Just listened to the bedroom scene that took place the Thursday morning before premier of the video for "Golden". The scene is in chapter 15 of "Entwined with You", Gideon tells Eva how he wants to be with her and "I'll make you happy the rest of your life." That conversation reminded me why Crossfire is special. Sylvia has written some of the most romantically moving words spoken by a male character. Sylvia Day is not writing the screenplay. She has said that. It will be very important for the screenplay writer who does bring these characters to life on television to remember Gideon the actor must speak like Gideon in the book.
  3. In hindsight, Chris adopting Gideon might have made all the difference for him. He would have been included in his new family and not have been left outside to take the fall for his Geoffrey. Great "what if" scenario. I like that idea as a talking point on this topic. Chris rejected Gideon. I wonder if Angus came from the Cross household to the Vidal's or did he work for Vidal when he married Elizabeth.
  4. Hi Gaia  I am sort of a newbie too but I probably post alot.  Your list reminded me, I forgot Arnoldo on my list of "Unfinished" posted earlier today.  You put more detail on your ideas but they are some on the contexts under my simpler outline.  I thought Clancy could be more involved in the bracelet until I thought about his family.  That would be a significant risk for a man with a wife.  Eva did say he took orders from Stanton and Stanton would do anything for Monica but I would bet on Angus or Raoul to be looking out for Gideon.  *******Plot Twist******* Chris Sr is behind the bracelet.  He discovers Dr. Terrence's betrayal, follows Gideon and tries to protect him.......I know it's a stretch but that is the fun of the forum until publication day
  5. I know Bared to You will be released as a hardcover edition in February of next year. Â Are there plans for a hardcover box set of all five books? Â Also are plans in place for Jill Redfield to narrate the last two books in the series? Â Jill is excellent and I like the continuity of the same person reading a series. Â PS Thanks for answering my previous question!
  6. As soon as I read Brett with the tattoo sleeves I thought of Adam Levine and Maroon 5. Â He's older, 34, then Brett but I think he could pull it off. Â There are definitely other candidates but I think most viewers would be happy with this Brett
  7. Â There is approximately 10 years of Monica's life to account for. Â We know her family disowned her when she was pregnant and we know she was with Barker when Eva was ten. Â I do not recall how long Monica and Barker had been married before the abuse started. Â Since Eva does not talk about ever having a financially difficult time in her life, Monica either married Barker when Eva was young or hide her escort career extremely well. Â Barker wanted a mother for his son so I do not think he would have married her if he knew.
  8. Hi Julie54 I missed the "special trust fund for people that were conned". The "Crossroads Foundation" is Gideon's charity foundation. Â That is the only thing I remember Eva telling Ireland to tell her boyfriend's family to look up.Â
  9. Among the many notes I have regarding Crossfire series the following is my list of Unfinished Plot Lines: (The order is random, not by priority) Â The society wedding of Eva and Gideon Megumi The Eva/Brett video as well as their relationship (could be 2 things?) Nathan's bracelet Relationship between Eva's father and mother Gideon's relationship with his family - Elizabeth, Ireland, Christopher and Chris Corinne including Jean-Francois Giroux The Lucas family Cary and Tatiana's pregnancy Cary and Trey Cary working for Eva Eva working for Gideon Mark Garrity and Steven Ellison together and with Eva Magdalena Perez Shawna Ellison Anything to add?
  10. Â Ah!! Angus, the mystery man! I love Angus. Â It will be interesting to learn more about him. Â We know he drove Gideon to school when he worked for Chris Vidal and we know Gideon hired him away from Vidal when Gideon was 20. Â Could he have known about Hugh's abuse of Gideon and, therefore, stepped in to protect him? Â Will Angus have a family or do you think he is only dedicated to Gideon and through him to Eva? Â I hope Gideon talks about his relationship with Angus. Â Does Gideon see him as a father figure, a friend or a trusted employee?
  11. Are there any reactions to Chris as a father? Â Gideon says he refuses to take sides when Gideon and Christopher disagree in the business. I do not think Gideon has a strong, competent father figure in his life. Â I know Victor has his flaws but can he serve in that capacity? Â Victor did step up for Eva in her later life. Â Cary likes him too.
  12. Â Do you think he is aware? In the book when he talks about being left, Gideon is speaking about Hugh's son not himself. Â Eva says he is talking about himself as well.
  13.  Back on track  Gideon also seems to have abandonment issues because of his father's suicide.  Most of the attention has been paid to his nightmare but what about his feeling of being left by his dad.  We know he wants to be a father (in the prenup).
  14. That is exactly what I said. Â Thank you!!
  15. Thank you!! Â I agree with everything you said! Â Unfortunately I do not know how to add the sad face.
  16. Yes !!! Like you Jeanmarie I could see that happening because he says it more then once. Â Eva is his life.
  17. FYI I know two young women who were abused as children. Â One is now close to Eva's age. Â The other is older. Â I know more than I want about their lives before, during and after. Â I will write no details because it is their experience. Â I am not aware that I know any boys or men. Â PS Thank God I do not know more.
  18. Â Glad you like Tom!! Â I have no ideas for the women.
  19. Jean-Francois Giroux is a very angry man. Â He blames Gideon for his wife's attempted suicide and her miscarriage. Â They also have a business deal in the works. Â Corinne may be alright if the antidepressants were the reason for her erratic behavior but I think her husband will still want a pound of flesh.
  20. Chiara  Love the reason for the prenup!!  Becuase Gideon is such a successful business man, his insecurities are often forgotten.
  21.   Good evening GiGi  It is my turn to be confused although I thought as soon as I read from you yesterday, "and it gives me the opportunity to understand your position better." this post might be coming.  First, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I do not ask anyone to "presuppose and accept one interpretation" of anything and definitely never ask them to give up their common sense.  Second I am not a follower. From my perspective your logic dictates that when reading a well-thought and well-written piece of fiction I can not suspend my reality for a while to take the journey the author has chosen. You demand I bring in my life experience because you and others have chosen that option. If you truly read what I wrote you would see that I can and do make use of personal knowledge and experience under circumstances that I pick and tell you when I do.   My logic by its very nature only dictates what I do. You may do as you please and I do not recall ever asking you or anyone to do otherwise. My continued willingness to respond to your post should tell you I respect that.  Third I do not consider arguments, first defined as an exchange of diverging or opposite views, typically a heated or angry one, as inherently balanced or logical.  I personally prefer conversation, discussion or dialogue.  It is precisely because I am open to new ideas and information that I joined this forum.   Fourth, what does this mean?  "We as the "old time" forum members have dedicated hundreds/thousands of hours to these exact topics, as has been evidenced by the thousands of posts and research that went along with them. Every "old time" member has their ideas about the book; and they are based on reading the material, discussing it amongst the members and by emailing/tweeting/attending Author conventions. Some members were lucky enough to discuss these issues with the author and received a first-hand account of what the author was thinking and why the wrote the material the way the did."  As a new forum memeber you cannot disagree with an "old time" forum member.  I have personally received nothing but positive interest, support, and consideration from old time members.  They have never ask that I only follow their line of thinking.  Last, your final paragraph reads like a paraphrase of what I have written on this forum...  "We as the readers will not have the opportunity to know everything until the last book is published. Until then, we will have to read the materials presented, use our common sense and apply our life skills and educational background to try and decifer the material in the meantime. We as the readers will not have the opportunity to know everything until the last book is published. Until then, we will have to read the materials presented, use our common sense and apply our life skills and educational background to try and decifer the material in the meantime."  which is read the material and lets discuss.  BettyÂ
  22. Eva and Gideon talking about Elizabeth “She also seems to love you a lot. It was in her eyes when she looked at you.†He kept looking straight ahead. “She didn’t love me enough.†My breath left me in a rush. Because I didn’t know what had given him such tormenting nightmares, I’d wondered if maybe she’d loved him too much. It was a relief to know that wasn’t the case. It was awful enough that his father committed suicide. To be betrayed by his mother, too, might be more than he could ever recover from. “How much is enough, Gideon?†His jaw tightened. His chest expanded on a deep breath. “She didn’t believe me.†I came to a dead stop and pivoted to face him. “You told her what happened to you? You told her and she didn’t believe you?†His gaze was trained over my head. “It doesn’t matter now. It’s long done.†Excerpt From: Day, Sylvia. “Reflected in You.†We know the women he chose looked like his mother and he said none of them really saw him. Did he hide from them because his mother "didn't love him enough"?
  23. I found another song that I think is great for the series    (Everything I Do) I Do It For You    by Bryan Adams  Look into my eyes, you will see What you mean to me Search your heart, search your soul And when you find me there you'll search no more Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for You know it's true Everything I do, I do it for you  Look into your heart, you will find There's nothin' there to hide Take me as I am, take my life I would give it all, I would sacrifice Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for I can't help it, there's nothin' I want more You know it's true Everything I do, I do it for you Oh yeah  There's no love, like your love And no other, could give more love There's nowhere, unless you're there All the time, all the way, yeah Look into your heart, baby Oh, you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for I can't help it, there's nothin' I want more Yeah, I would fight for you, I'd lie for you Walk the wire for you, yeah I'd die for you You know it's true Everything I do, oh, I do it for you Everything I do, darling And we'll see it through Oh we'll see it through Oh yeah Yeah! Look into your heart You can't tell me it ain't worth dying for Oh yeah  I'll be there, yeah I'll walk the wire Oh, yeah I'm going all the way, all they way, yeah   So many of the words in this song come right out of Gideon's mouth almost verbatim.  I could hear it as an instrumental background on his way to kill Nathan but the words would need to song at an earlier point in the show for the meaning to be known  I know this was in the Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner but it is so good for Gideon.
  24. Gideon is chronologically 28 but regarding his abuse is still an adolescent because he never dealt with it. Â The key to successful therapy is the relationship between the patient and the therapist. Â If Cary and Eva still relate to Dr. Travis then I think Gideon can too.
  25. I agree. Â I get a queasy every time i read that.
