‎CaptivatedByYou‬ Chapter One: the plan is to reveal Ch 1 on Friday @ 9AM PT. Keep an eye out for the link... And possible early reveal!

In the latest Penguin video Sylvia just tells us she is not answering questions (re Tatiana, Megumi, Eva's parents, if Gideon and Eva will have a baby or if Brett is back) so I hope this book answers all of those questions (the baby one I thought had already been answered in that Sylvia said they are not ready to be parents).

Is it possible that Deanna contacts Anne to enrol her in the spurned by Gideon club?  Could Anne and her husband be among those set to try and cause trouble for Gideon.  As Dr Lucas knows about Gideon's abuse would have told his wife about that, and if so would that be while she was having her affair with Gideon or after he spurned her?  But would it be fair of her to seek revenge on Gideon re her brother knowing what her brother did to him?

According to responses on Facebook from both Sylvia and Samara there won't be any more books in the series. Hopefully we find out more about Deanna in Captivated By You.

The chain link fence is often used as a barrier in MMA bouts. The open fingered gloves seen on one of the men in the picture also indicate MMA so I suspect one of these guys is Gideon.

Yes, when he told Eva he owned the chain of CrossTrainer gyms "Usually, I practice mixed martial arts with a personal trainer, but I use the gym occasionally."

So is it Brett, Christopher or someone else he is fighting with? And the pen makes an appearance again, perhaps paperwork to sign for Eva setting up her charitable foundation.

Any ideas on what is running across the bottom right hand of the photo - what starts of looking like whatever the guy is wearing goes across under the pen and along, with markings on it. The background of the picture is formed of something with a diamond pattern, at first I thought it was a wire fence but could be embossed leather or . . . .??? (I'm viewing the more elongated version of the picture, on the squared off picture the piece running across the bottom right hand is slightly lower than whatever the guy is wearing.)

the red head at the end of EWY is none other then Anne. Im thinking she is there to start crap. after all is she is cahoots with Corrine and mommy dearest will come find out..

 

AND my 2 cents.. Gideon in into power and control.. that too is a form of BDSM relationships without all the other kinky stuff.

I'd be happy if that last sentence were the case, I prefer this set of books to Fifty Shades for various reasons but one is that there is no kinky stuff - I don't mind reading about that but it was good to read a romance as intense as this one is that was 'normal' having read quite a few with dom/sub relationships that were not just about power and control.

Both Gideon and Eva have a need to control the sexual side of their relationship due to their pasts and Gideon has certainly understood Eva's needs. I still worry though that there is something dark in his past yet to be revealed and that he fears she will still leave him if he tells her about it - let's hope if there is it is something he thinks is really bad but she has the sense to see beyond what his past entailed and look to the future.

I was also thinking about the redhead at the end of EWY. She says within earshot of Eva when she sees Deanna talking to Gideon, " he ----- her a lot." We know this not true but this woman thinks so so either she is trying to get Eva upset or Deanna has told her lies. Does anyone know what Deanna did in general terms in Afterburn with the male character lead in general terms without spoiling the plot? I know she was damaged after this and could explain her behavior in EWY. I am curious about Gideon's dark side that she alluded to in EWY. What ever it is she lost her mind over it.

It was Gia's brother in Afterburn who was involved with Deanna, their relationship didn't involve 'vanilla s*x' is all I will say which makes me wonder if Deanna had expected the same type of non-vanilla from Gideon and been disappointed that, although she told Eva "that man has a dark side" about Gideon maybe part of her vendetta towards him is that he did not come through for her? Eva wondered "what had he revealed in the course of their (his and Deanna's) . . . . association? If they'd had one"

There are subtle hints from Gideon all along that he intends to take Eva to 'the edge' and that there were things in his life he no longer needs now he has Eva, he has also revealed some knowledge of bdsm even if he has not been involved and he did enjoy seeing Eva in the scarlet cuffs - the typical 'you look beautiful' type of comment that dom's say when they have their sub trussed up (I do find anything written about being a dom and sub is very much to a script as if it is a rule for all people involved in bdsm to say the same things, not sure if that is just what the authors pick up from research or if they really do all speak in the same way).

We are all assuming Brett is making trouble - perhaps once Eva has spoken to him and he knows she is married to Gideon he steps back and accepts her happiness comes first. There's enough other people who can cause trouble for Gideon and the revelation of his own past to fill the next two books.

It looks like bands of light or possibly sound waves from a computer screen music recording program or some such going across his arms above the guitar, could it be a recording session for the group rather than a gig?

Random question: has anyone read Outlander? I ask only because I see its a series on Starz now. I wonder how true it is to the book , and if fans of the book like the actor choices . I wonder when The Crossfire Series will be on tv!

I read the book a long time ago (published here in the UK as Cross Stitch back then). I had to obtain the episodes illicitly as they are not being shown in the UK and they do fit well with the books. From Diana Gabaldon's posts she's been happy with all the actor choices, I hadn't really considered who would play the roles but that is because I read the book so long ago. I am happy with the choices, it works well with what I recall of the characters in the book.

You may be right agoodbook, however in the past the photos Sylvia has used have been stock ones that don't necessarily fit exactly to the character so even though the male in the photo doesn't have any other rings, it's still possible it depicts Gideon - we'll know in 37 days. Definitely agree there's no gun or baby, My PC doesn't show the picture very clearly so difficult for me to be certain of the other items, are the hands under the roses actually silk gloves? Definitely agree that's a telephoto lens but to me that meant Deanna taking photos and covering the Gideon/Eva wedding as he promised, plus the male signing and the fountain pen ties in with the cover of the book which has to be Gideon (on the book cover. 37 days is a long time . . . . . .

I missed this question during the Twitter Q&A yesterday, someone asked the title of the 5th book - response was

The title of the 5th book is revealed in Captivated by You after the last page.

In Bared to You and Entwined with You it's Daniel the trainer, Eva introduces him to Megumi in Entwined. Megumi had shown an interest in him and he admitted to having noticed her. Deanna then appeared and distracted Eva, with Megumi asking 'who was that'

In Reflected in You we have Daniel offering to buy Eva a drink in the bar when she and Cary are in Vegas. It's not unlikely that a writer would have two characters with the same first name, same as in real life.

But I do wonder if Megumi moved on from Michael to Daniel, him involved in her disappearance?

Hey, keep posting, I've posted before and been wrong, or completely forgotten facts; any ideas are good, there's bits of the story I didn't pick up even after more than two reads, I ploughed through all the past comments on here and learned a lot of stuff I'd completely missed.

Have to say it's a god-send to have the books as e-books and be able to go back and search them - I prefer to read the paperback but for referencing, the e-books are great.

I don't know, the mob bit could indicate that someone wanted to get a hold on Gideon in some way so Gideon owed them something? He did say he needed to find out who he owed for that.

I also wonder why Gideon is often keen to speak to Monica when Eva is not in the mood to deal with her mum, he does that from quite early on in the story so perhaps his involvement with Monica (and Stanton?) is longstanding. Plus Monica and Eva are very alike, wonder if that has any significance as to why Gideon spotted her in the street and knew he wanted her.

They do say how his father died - "Gideon was just five years old when his dad committed suicide with a gunshot to the head rather than face prison time." Bared to You Chapter 6 where Eva picks up the details Cary had printed out prior to Gideon collecting Eva to go to the Advocacy ball. I wonder if Gideon either found his father or was hiding in the room when his dad carried out the deed?

People on Facebook have considered Mark and Steven but were they keen to get married quickly? Someone on there pointed out that the male figure does not have Gideon's other rings which he never takes off but pretty sure that the photos used are just stock photos and although it may imply the male is Gideon, so the lack of other rings is just that the chosen picture only has a wedding ring.

And it is possible that Gideon could pull off a second wedding ceremony pretty quickly, he has the funds to do so and is keen for the world to know that he and Eva are tied together for life.

By this time in six weeks I think most of us will have read the book and know for sure, but it is interesting speculating. Sylvia may have made us wait for this book but I bet it is going to be a good one and possibly generate more questions before we get the final book (and let's hope that is an early new year publication).

When I expand on my PC the picture from Facebook become too grainy, however the version on twitter although identical in content, looks much clearer when expanded. I can see in front of the woman's face a pair of hands, one folded across the wrist of the other which also has a wedding ring on it. I guess we have the public wedding taking place - sadly usually after a happy event something happens to mar their relationship.
