What's your fave hero type or combination?

    The Tortured :whip:

    The Bad Boy :yummy:

    The Best Friend :drunk:

    The Professor / Nerd :g:

    The Swashbuckler :pirate2:

    The Warrior :boxing:

    The Corporate Raider :starwars:

    The Lost Soul :P

    The Cowboy :Vanhelsing:

    The Hometown Hero :flowers:

    Got any others?

I have to admit, I've loved them all in some form or another, but The Bad Boy is my definite fave. ;-)

  4. Just wondering when we get to see more of Alex?  :P

My poor darling Alexei has been waiting patiently for me to finish working on all these other cover blurbs and bios. *g*

I do miss him. I'm trying to complete another chapter today...

  5. Oh, those naughty rakes. With their wicked winks, sensual smiles, and bad boy habits, you just can’t take them out in polite society. But who wants to go out when you can stay in…?

    STOLEN PLEASURES

Sebastian Blake, Earl of Merrick, long ago fled the responsibilities of his title to become the infamous pirate, Captain Phoenix. But the booty he’s just captured on a merchant ship is a fierce tempered minx who claims to be a bride…his bride, married to him by proxy on behest of their fathers. He could shame his hated family and return his beautiful wife untouched, but no treasure has ever proved more tempting to Sebastian, and making their marriage a true one—in every sense—is his one urgent desire …

    LUCIEN’S GAMBLE

Lucien Remington’s reputation as a debauched libertine who plays by no one’s rules—in business or the bedroom—is well deserved. He gets what he wants, social repudiation be damned. But society can keep from him the one thing he truly desires, the untouchable Lady Julienne La Coeur. Until she sneaks into his club dressed as a man and searching for her irresponsible brother. Suddenly she’s in Lucien’s grasp, his to take, and his mind is filled with the most wickedly sinful thoughts. A gentleman would walk away from the temptation she presents. But then, Lucien has never claimed to be a gentleman…

    HER MAD GRACE

Hugh La Coeur never wanted to be the Earl of Montrose. Wine, women, and a hefty wager are preferable to responsibility of any kind. It’s certainly preferable to spending the night in an eerie, neglected mansion owned by a legendary madwoman. The duchess’s companion, the fiercely independent Charlotte, is another matter altogether. Hugh would be happy to spend as many nights in her bed as possible. He knows she’s hiding terrible secrets, but for once in his life, Hugh has the desire to take on someone else’s burden as his own, no matter what the danger…

They’re mad, bad, and totally irresistible…

  6. ~smile~

Just wanted to say that even though I love your blog, even though I am not a writer, or even a reader of romance novels, I like your insight into the industry as a whole.  So I may not comment on your posts, but I do read them.

    Thank you

    Shayne

Thank you, Shayne! What a great comment to wake up to. I'm glad to hear you're stopping by. Sometimes it's so quiet, I wonder who's out there.

  7. Have you ever noticed that watching movies with people whose company you enjoy can make a horrible movie a fun experience? There are some real lemons in my movie memories, but some of them have a soft spot in my heart just because the people who were with me when I watched the flick.

Like when you bring your comedian friend (we all have one or two) and he/she cracks jokes about the really dreadful parts. Or your sarcastic friend (we all have one of those too) whose insults are riot.

Is it just me? Or do you have fond memories of bad movies because of the people who were with you when you watched them.

  8. Is it me or has it been slow in here????

    Hi Linda. :bye1:

It has been slow. I think everyone is busy with projects, I've been on deadline. I owe you a thank you card and it's coming, I promise. I intend to catch up on all my thank yous tomorrow.

I hope you're doing well. :D I'll be catching up on all the things that fell by the wayside this last month and a half. I can't believe it's the middle of Feb. This start of the year has flown by in a daze.

  9. I managed to find many of our favorite smilies from the old board and some new ones that I think will be great for this year!!

    Such as:

:phone: (for when members of the *thisclose* club get THE CALL!)

    and this

    :WTF: (for the big R)

So post a message and try them out. I'll keep looking for more, because you know me. Got to have the perfect smiley for every occasion!

Also be on the lookout for a new board skin (hopefully it'll be up soon if my host cooperates with the designer. *argh* )

  10. Sylvia dear, I hope the good news just keeps rolling your way in 2005. I got a little bit of good news myself. Gina, the very nice editor at A Hint of Seduction, has decided to put my little story in the special, Feb issue of her e-zine. It's special because it's not only the Valentine's Day Isssue, it is also A Hint of Sedcution's one year anniversary. So I'll have to wait a month longer for my story to come out but I am very honored that she chose my story for her anniversary issue :D .

Thank you!! And congratulations on making the anniversary issue!!

:wav: That is wonderful news. I can't wait to read your story. :pukel:

  11. You also have to be brave and try the Skyline chili.

Sasha and Sylvia, if you're reading this post and you're very brave let me know if you want to try Cincinnati chili. They sell spice packets and all you have to add is hamburger & tomato paste. It is NOTHING like Texas chili.

Oh Linda... I LOVE hot stuff. And Skyline chili sounds fabulous. Hubby just got back from the store with stuff to make chili, because I'm hungry for it. :D

I hope you had a great New Years!! :occasion7: :occasion9:
