re: Dr Lucas .... I believe Sylvia stated early on this topic that he was Not the abuser.  

 

And everyone pretty much agrees that after Eve's office visit,  he was one on the DR that Vidals consulted to examine Gideon and as we all know 'found no evidence of abuse' per Elizabeth. 

 

The affair with Ann Lucas was just payback, even Gideon admits this in the bath tub confession at the beach.

I totally agree, the redhead in BTY is Anne Lucas, No other reason to describe her 'lovely redhead'.  

 

This was the 1st date disaster dinner.  And I don't think they were at the same table just close by and that Terry was probably there but not mentioned in the story at that point.  SD saved his intro until the Corrine dinner to push Eva over the edge to leave.  I think they are still married or that would have been in the Google profile.

 

It's pretty clear that Terry is one of the doctor's that Elizabeth Vidal 'consulted' and Eva confirmed this with the visit to his office, otherwise how/why could he have 'alienated' Gideon from the family.  

 

Sooooo many questions to be answered in ETY .  Can't wait

Corinne was still in France during the Advocacy Dinner ... she says to Eva " I even canceled a flight I had booked a couple of weekends ago.  I had interrupted him at some charity event he was giving a speech ......'

Since publicly Eva broke up with Gideon, it is reasonable to think when he asked Corinne out, he told her it was going to be 'as friends'.  But as we all know she loves him and I'm sure she is hoping if she is patient he will resume their intimate relationship.  And  we know that our girl Magdalene knows how much Gideon cares from Eva (the library scene) so if she told Cornine this then Corinne will be taking it slowly. Help him heal his broken heart. (Eva telling her ' if she is paying attention, she knows he's hurting)

 

We know that Eva and Gideon are keeping their relationship on 'the down low', I am interested to see if Gideon continues to 'date' Corinne. And how they ease back into an open relationship.    So much fun to speculate  

Catching up I read a theory about Eva bailing Gideon out financially  .....   I have always thought that somewhere along the way she would fund a major abuse center or setup a foundation to help abuse victims.  Maybe something after they are married, I know her Mom would approve of using the money that way once Eva is safe and secure.

 

I am anxious to see what Corrine's reaction will be once E & G are back together.  And more interaction with Ireland too as family.

Glad to see I wasn't the only person to write down a timeline   After the 2nd or 3rd read I started writing down events to try to see when Nathan 1st appeared.     Reading lots of Sylvia while waiting on EIY !  Glad we will see a cover tomorrow. 

Wasn't sure about #6 after the first read, but having re-read it several times I really love it and the promise of what comes next 'up against the mirror'.  Then went back and re-read all the others.   There is something about these two, can't wait for EIY !    But the wait has given me time to read lots of her other books ! They are great.   

LOL Waiting for EIY is like waiting for Christmas morning to see what goodies are under the tree and in our stockings ! There are so many things to reveal and of course the future of Eva and Gideon as a great couple !!! My wish would be to see their relationship now grow with Nathan no longer a threat to Eva and Gideon's secret shared with her. They are so powerful together each supporting the other in all things. But the ultimate of course is see them settled with a family of their own to love and cherish. In the meantime enjoying BIY & RIY again and many other of Sylvia's books. Thanks for so many hours of great reading !

With Nathan dead, his police file is now opened. Recall the NYPD knew of the Eva's abuse discovered during the investigation. That said it is almost a sure thing that Victor will check to see if there Nathan had a past, knowing that her 'bullied' Eva and her

shocked reaction to news of his death. Doubt Monica could have killed Nathan with a single blow since is is described as a petite woman, plus she and Stanton were ready to pay the blackmail. Think it will be interesting to discover what Stanton and Cross shared..... did they know both were being blackmailed ? did Cross contact Stanton after the office fight ? lots of juicy questions. Hope there is more Cross POV on the things that Eva didn't know about. Someone mentioned Corrine/Nathan and there is no reason for them to be connected. Corrine is playing on Eva's jealousy but doesn't understand the depth of the love between Eva / Cross. Poor Corrine .... Like everyone else can't wait and how many more times can #1 & #2 be read before #3 comes out LOL

I think the 'shrink' was a woman .. 'the shrink and the doctoral candidate she was supervising'

I think Eva moved to NY after college to get a job since her Mom was living there.

and I think it was Gideon's people calling him ( ie Angus) and he could have called his lawyer since he knew he would

be going to the police to give a stmt.

Excited to get the answers to some of these questions in EIY .....

I do think that Gideon killed Nathan to be sure the threat was gone. I doubt he would risk anyone else on his staff getting caught and I think they were tasked with keeping Eva safe since it was obvious Gideon knew where she was at all times. I'm curious to hear what he told Corrine when he started asking her out again knowing he wanted only to be 'friends' not lovers again. Just so many juicy plot lines to look forward to in EIY

Monica's gambler husband was #2 !!! Just reading RIY- when Cary and Eva are on G's plane going to Vegas, she says .... My Mom's 2nd husband was a whale (aka big gambler), that's one of the reason she left him ......

So that clears up the gambler question LOL

Aseibel ..... you mentioned how much this scene affected you and I have to totally agree. Every time I read it (and I have read it several times !) when the detective describes G's reaction to E's phone call when he is @ the police station is heartbreaking. And then to tell to you back to him and 'thank him' was great. I dont think her intent is to con them, since she mentions that she believes Nathan was going to eventually kill E, and that G isnt a threat to anyone else. Somewhere it was mentioned that Stanton knew about the plot to kill, but I don't think anyone outside G's immediate circle (angus) knew anything. G kept all his plans to himself to protect the others.

I think I saw that Sylvia Day answered that he went back for the meds that Dr Peterson gave him for the nightmares.

Think the spilling out was the 'dress too small' for her boobs ! She had her period when they went to Las Vegas, so not pregnant - then - and she told she was on birth control at the very beginning.

and ...... Sophia, I did find that mention of her Mom's 'married' names. Very confusing to think that Stanton is the gambler since he is described a financial wiz with investments.

OMG ... when I first read this I had just watched a Henry Cavill movie and he is 100% Gideon !!!

SophiaPehawkins .... This is the limo ride after the fight w/Brett. G is ###### and tells E she's earned his jealous anger. When she finally admits to kissing Brett on purpose to get even so he understands her jealousy about Corrine. He finally understands why her feelings about Corrine are so intense.

Also, think that Stanton is husband #4.

I think he left home when she was still really young and could be just the age difference. I have wondered by Eva asked him if he was afraid of her (I think at the beach house when she first mentioned inviting her). She may be innocent of all the stuff that went

on when G was abused. Remains to be seen how they interact when E is back in his life full time .

Glad to see someone mention the brunette fascination ! Hadn't seen it anywhere ... but there are lots of comments.

I was thinking it's his Mother that is the root of this, He felt abandoned and ignored my her after remarrying and the new

family. He is looking for that 'love' with the brunettes. And actually Corrine's description is his Mom, 'long black hair and blue eyes'. So it's not Corrine, she just filled the bill.
