  1. Just finished another read of EWY ...... and once more really mad at Eva's attitude to Brett.  Hard to justify her thoughts when she is so totally entwined with Gideon.  Sure it was a great sex at the time and his music might turn her on, she should have shut down his advances totally.  And WTF.....  why does she text smiley face to him.

And her Mother !!!!  they should have told her they eloped because they wanted their wedding to private and special with none of her drama, but they will be happy to also have a big public wedding but after all her stalking crap enough is enough !

OK I'm done for today  LOL

  2. I had actually read FSOG origanally when it was written as a Twilight FFn.  I still have it on my computer...lol.  Also the Gabriel books(inferno/rapture) were also originally a Twilight FFn.

Twlight connects everyone  LOL  That's interesting about the Gabriel books, I didn't know they were inspired by Twilight too !

Watching an interview with Henry the other evening, he was one of the 'finalist' for Edward !!!!   So even he connected to us thru Twilight.   I'm sure it has to be more than '6 degrees of Separation'.   :)

  3. SME .....

I started with FSOG becase it had a Twilight connection and I was hooked on those books/movies.   I got my cousin on to FSOG and then Crossfire so I have her to chat with about the books.  LOL  she and I have the wicked mind :)

After Crossfire  and reading lots of Sylvia's other books, I found Maya Banks books, 1st was the Sweet Series (my cuz sent me there) then Colter Legacy. Nook newsletters will recommend 'like' books and also Goodreads.   And now the members here are suggesting ones I haven't tried too.

So while I'm waiting for Gideon and Eva, there's lots of possiblities to keep me busy.

    :)

  4.  Fsumom,

    your welcome!

FSOG lead me too, to Crossfire!

And what I wanted to say, now in September the POV of the male French man of the Pearl Triology will be published. Just read it on FB from Arianne Richmonde!

I am so glad that you are inspired!

And there is one more series I do read right now - the BLACKSTONE AFFAIR from Raine MIller. First book is NAKED. The e-books are a bit expensive and the paperback are not already out. I do like this series because 3 books are out and it will be a 4 book in November which continues the story. The first book is the female POV, the second book is the male POV ( and so funny) and the third book is with both POV´s , male and female. And there are coming more books, one takes place 200 years before the Blackstone Affair and one tells the story of one of the friends of Blackstone Affair main character. So, all the stories are interwined.

The writing style I do like! There is suspense, there is fun and everything takes place in London. Ethan Blackstone is Bristish, and the woman is an American Girl!

So, enough from my chatting of others books. Will look in the theories you all have regarding book 4 and 5!

    Sme

:)  I have read the Blackstone books and liked them too.  LIked getting both POV.  I will watch for more books .

    Thanks again

  5. Dear FSUMOM and Fayeth and any other Ladies you are looking for other books:

I do agree with you. The On DUBLIN Streets is good.

    May I recommend something other?

Well, I´ve read the e-book series  "THE PEARL TRIOLOGY" from Arianne Richmonde. First book: 40 shades of Pearl! All books of the trilogy are out.

The main characters have also difficult pasts! What I did find great the female is around 40 years old who falls in love with a much younger Billionaire!

The erotic scenes and the hot sex stuff is really great, can compete with Sylvia Day´s writing, in my eyes.  There is suspense, crime and very well developed main and side characteres. The trilogy plays in NEW YORK, but the man comes from France and they are travelling to Europe and within the States.

The background stories are not so deeply complicated like EVA and Gideon´s story but the writing style I do like very much! And there is an end what makes you happy!

And then there is the JUST ANOTHER NIGHT Series (3 books, e-books) of Kyra Davis. It is the first erotic triology from the author and her writing is great, the plot is good and the end I do like. The Erotic scenes are great, sometimes only fantasies are described. Okay, each volume has not many pages but the author is able to create with only a few words a complexe story line.

To read something similar to Crossfire (which all the twists and turn), I do think,  is difficult because the Crossfire are about 5 books and is not yet finished. I do think most of the series (erotic genre) are not able to compare with each other!

So I do like FSOG (Fifty shades) really, too. But I discovered them when the last book was ready. I reread them and I will reread them again. But this is not stuff to be discussed a lot.

    So, that my recommandations ....

    Have fun ... :)!

    SME

    Thanks :)

Got them all written down to look at shortly.  Always looking for good reads.   I like the idea a 'mature' heroine  (LOL)  and with a younger gentleman - French at that -  WOW.

I also like FSOG - it has a complete story and epilogue, plus Christine POV and his younger story too.   And it lead me to Crossfire !

  6. A friend gave me Claim Me and Release Me by J. Kenner. They follow a Gideva type couple. They are 2/3 of The Stark Trilogy - last book due out July 30. They were better than most versions of difficult hot billionaire and wounded heroine I have tried - IMO about equal in quality to On Dublin Street which I liked. Don't mean to sound so lukewarm - it's just nothing compares to Crossfire.

    :)

I'm re-reading Claim Me today getting ready for the 3rd one, Complete Me.  They are a pretty hot couple, good story line and of course lots of secrets too :)

  7. I'm going to try these.  A woman I met at book bash mentioned this series when we were talking about the Crossfire books.  I was arguing that Brett is a scumbag, immature, little boy (that might be too mean but still) who wants to get in Eva's pants and drop her like a hot potato to rebuild his ego.  One of the other women in our group was a pro-Brett fan trying to convince us that Brett still loves Eva.  My theory is based on personal experience with boy bands and coincides with what you've posted above.  We will know for sure by the end of the year.

    Sharon

A tip when you read these, read #4 before #3.  I think it fits better is the #3 spot because there are some things in #3 that took

place in #4.   Very sexy, not vanilla but more neopolitan so to speak. ;)

  8. You should read On Dublin Street.  I really liked it, but maybe it is because I read all three books by Samantha Young in the order they were released.  Typically in series like hers where it starts with one set of characters in the first book and each subsequent book is about different charcters we were previously introduced to, I typically like the first set the best and want to read more about them, but that could just be a quirk of mine.    :)

Thanks!   I read that London Road without knowing there was one before but I will check it out .

I agree about reading in order because they generally give you a look at what has happened to the characters in the previous

    books.

  9. While waiting for Book 4 I have found some other books that are fun.  I, too, have read the first 2 books of the BREATHLESS trilogy by Maya Banks.  I like them a lot even though I am not crazy about the BDSM stuff.  I also have just finished the THIS MAN  trilogy by Jodi Ellen Malpas which takes place in London.  I like these a great deal.  Characters are interesting.  If anyone has not read the GABRIEL books, then I really recommend them. Also loved ON DUBLIN STREET.  I found most of these after reading Sylvia's historical books.  Loved those.  Truth is it is hard to beat G and E.  Hurry up Book 4.

HI ... agree that G & E set the bar really high !!

I read there is going to a 3rd Gabriel book maybe sometime this year.  I haven't read the On Durbin Street, but read On London Road by same author.

Also, Sylvia's Historical series are good sexy if you go to her site and see the order to read them.  All separate stories but linked with characters from book-to-book.    Also liked her Dream Guardian (2) books.  Not into paranormal much but those are good.

    Enjoy :)

  10. GiGi ....  You know my theory on Brett and s*e*x tape so wanted to throw these books in the pile for everyone.

Oliva Cunning's Sinner Series, 4 books about a heavy metal rock back, their loves and their groupies.  Read them right before Entwined came out so when the TAPE scenario came out I thought of these books.   Interesting look inside a rock band and sexy too :)

They re-enforce my thinking that ...

    a. Brett knows, watched and enjoyed all of Sam's secret tapings

    b.  Any publicity for the band is good - even if he presents an 'outraged' front to Eva

    c.  and he may be older but he's still a MALE     LOL

  11. Dear Sharon and Gigi!

Just wanted to say I´ve read two new books of Maya Cross herself which I did enjoy! FEVER and RUSH. With the KG Series I do not have any experience! Even though I do like the writing style of her a lot  (there I do agress with you, Sharon)  the sex scenes are sometimes very hard for me to digest!  So I stopped reading any further books of her. But maybe the KG Series is not so hard core.

    sme

    HI ...

I just read the Maya Cross books, they are LOCKED and LOCKOUT.  The FEVER and RUSH are Maya Banks.    It's confusing with 2 ladies having the unusual name of Maya and both writing the same type books.

Either one is great to read.

  12. Since this is a new seires and these Two books will keep us busy until Captivated By You is released I thought maybe we could focus on this for now.

    What does everyone think.?

Sounds like a good plan !  With the 1st coming in August it will keep us busy while we obsesse over the CYB snppits/snapshots :)

  13. Sheena-that was wonderful.

I actually have that Van Morrison album. It's pretty old-I think from the 80's.

Oh Yes, love Van Morrison and it was their song that Victor and Eva danced to before the dinner.

  14. Ok I know I am late to the party. Been looking for a forum like this for a while. Have so much to say and so little time. So I will try and say what I have to without losing my train of thought.

First I think that Monica asked Clancy to kill Nathan but he was too late as Gideon had already did it. This is why she said you never know when and why you will need money. I also think that Clancy knew about the Russian mob through his brother as he does work for the FBI and also Clancy was in the military but he is closed mouth about it which has me thinking he was in special forces so he probably already new how to "cover up" the murder anyway.

Second, I think Gideon already knows that Brett is going to be in SD so he will either go with them or he will meet them there to diffuse the Brett bomb once and for all if he hasn't done it before they leave. I also think that he trusts Eva enough to let her handle the situation on her own. Now that they have started spreading the news about their "engagement" Eva will start wearing her ring s that should diffuse the bomb also. I also agree with the notion that Brett had something to do with the sextape.

Third, I think that Cary knew all about Eva getting back wit Gideon. He is too observant not to know, he knows her better than she knows herself. He was just waiting for Eva to tell him, that is why he was so ###### at her for leaving him out of the loop. I also think that Eva can tell him everything that is going on 'cause Cary loves her and he would do anything for her.

Fourth, the whole Corinne and Deanna issue makes me angry. Once Gideon learns how manipulative she(Corrine) is he will cut her off once and for all. Her husband needs to cart her off back to Paris. Deanna needs to get a grip on herself and leave Gideon alone, if she would just open her eyes she would see that Gideon has eyes for only one person and it is not her. Actually both her and Corrine need to come to this realization. Magdalene has moved on they should follow suit.

Fifth, Christopher should buy a clue and figure out that he will never ever measure up and be as good or better than Gideon. So he needs to stop trying to compete ad be his own man. I think that Christopher is the one giving Corrine false hope where it concerns Gideon. Elizabeth should also buy a clue. I still can't figure out why she thinks Eva is the one "feeding him lies", Gideon was estranged from his family before she even came into the picture so how is she going to take him away?

Last but surely not least (for right now anyway) I think that Gideon is going to design and have a ring made for their next wedding. He gave her his mothers ring for sentimental reasons, as their first wedding was personal and for them he wanted t give her something that meant a lot to him.

These are just some of my thoughts.

    Hello !
