Maybe they didn't tell Corinne that they were married because they didn't want to kick her while she was already down and mentally unstable.  What do you think?

the engagement announcment did the same thing - but also gave Corrine hope that G would leave E.  Married it's over.  So it's a toss up I guess.  And would our Eva really care at this point, she's really after the lobby kiss attempt !

I wish we would had some of the interaction between Gideon & Corrine from 1st Monday night dinner until he finally told her he just wanted to be friends - but not social friends.  Also their conversation after Eva came to her apt. 

 

Of course then what would be talk about  LOL

I agree.  The only way a plan like that could possibly have worked is if Corinne poked holes in the "condoms" before hand.  I personally don't think that she would have gotten away with it (if that was her intent).  Gideon and Jean Francois don't look exactly the same.  Gideon's eyes are blue, Jean Francois' are green (jade)...HUGE DIFFERENCE n'est pas?

I think we might need a list of all the sub-plots we are now following?  I did write down a timeline of events so I could remember when things happened but now thinking I should also be keeping track of all these sub-plots too  LOL

Good point!  Personally, I don't think that Corinne knew about the pregnancy.  Even if she didn't love Jean Francois, I don't think that Corinne would purposely take medications or openly drink knowing that her unborn baby could wind up with very serious birth defects.

 

I also think that if Corinne were pregnant and was trying to pass this baby off, she would have a hard time of keeping Gideon if he bought her lie (for the sake of arguement) only to find out that her reckless lifestyle caused potentially severe birth defects to Gideon's offspring (wink).  It would surely be the end of her relationship.  What do you think?

LOL and the most important part of her scheme (?) Getting him to 'ride her bare back' when we know he NEVER did that except with Eva.  Of course he's not about to cheat of her either.  Sorry the Corrine Plan was doomed from the beginning.  

Gideon actually blew off two appointments the week he killed Nathan. He missed his individual session on Tuesday and deliberately blew off the couples session on Thursday, promising to be there but not showing. 

 

What he was letting Eva know in Entwined was that he never terminated his individual treatment with Dr. Petersen -- he was still undergoing therapy for the sexual trauma of his past and working on the very present problem of the parasomnia. Eva was thinking "the week he killed Nathan."

 

She'd naturally assumed that as part of his "abandoning" their relationship, he wasn't going to continue with individual treatment any more than he was going to with couples' therapy. The only reason he entered both was for her, for them, to make the relationship work. It made sense he'd think he had no more need for seeing Dr. Petersen now that he no longer was involved with her.

Another thought on this subject, don't you wonder what he told Dr Peterson during the next Tuesday (after Nathan) appt about missing couples appt. I agree that Corinne never really knew Gideon.  I think if she developed some kind of figment in her imagination, Gideon may have helped created because of his lies by omission.  If someone never opens their mouth to say how they feel, then how on earth could the other person in that relationship really know their partner?

 

It could also be a situation of Gideon letting Corinne see only what he wanted her to see.  Corinne may have been naïve, or desperate, or stupid, who knows but it seems that Corinne bought the image that Gideon sold her.  It is really very sad.

 

Magdalene on the other hand probably would have seen how Gideon treated women he dated or slept with.  So from that perspective she would have had an idea about what Gideon.  Above and beyond that I am not sure that she ever knew Gideon very well either.  What do you think?

I agree with you about Corrine's image of him was pure fantasy.  Maggie would have also known of his feelings about being around his family too.  And with that little bit of knowledge, thought that being patience would be the key to getting him to be hers.

I was also thinking that she had been drinking wine at the Waldorf event and then probably vodka at the Kingsman event.  And we also know she was on the anitdepressants for some period of the time before the OD.  

 

None of her behavior was that of an expectant mom so if she knew she was pregnant she didn't want this baby very much and so maybe the OD was going to solve that and get Gideon back-by-guilt-trip x2.

It is fun in this gutter. 

Think of it more like floating along on one of those 'lazy river' at the water park.  Thinking of whatever makes your heart beat faster and your breath quicken.  Now with that great Gideon pic in mind off we go....................

I've been loving all the Gideon pictures, but especially the occasional moody unsmiling ones. Anyone run across any "dark and dangerous" looking ones? Like maybe when Gideon is watching Eva dancing with Martin or talking to Brett? Sigh...

Been looking for a pic of Henry/Gideon from the Tudors.  His hair was longer and face fuller.  He's a little too thin in the face as Superman, but still easy on the eyes

I think the two rings she has in her purse are the new one she just bought for Gideon and her ring (1).

 

Gideon gave Eva his mother's engagement ring when they were married on the beach.  I think it is because Eva wants another wedding that her family & friends will attend and she will wear the engagement ring now that her engagement is known.

Re-reading it, you might be right about the 'rings' but she does refer to her 'wedding' ring at the lunch with Cary and that could just be the diamond.  LOL  someday we will know for sure

I loved the change in perspective, and it made me even more eager to read 'his' Crossfire series.

In the Blackstone Affair series (which I saw recommened here, thank you very much  ) the 2nd & 3rd books both tell the story from male & female POV.  It is really different and I liked it.  Was happy to see the snippet with Gideon's POV and hoping that maybe in book 4 or 5 Gideon with starting 'talking' to Sylvia

I'm thinking that at the time Corrine was 'dating' and engaged to Gideon, he wasn't fooling around with any other women.  I think he stated that she was his 1st real 'normal' sexual relationship.  After the end of the engagement, he started this pattern of one-night stands with random women thinking he would never be able to have a successful relationship or marriage due to his nightmares.  Not until Eva had he even spent the entire night with anyone.  As he has stated on a couple of occasions he had dreamed of a woman like Eva but never thought he would find one.  

 

Taking all that into considertion there is no way that Corrine knows him at all whereas Magdalena has been around him all these years and knows his history with other women.  

But Tatiana wasnt there the night of the orgy. Nor would she know about the fight between Gideon and Brett. Cary is too loyal to Eva, he would not be telling these stories to someone like Tatiana, who he doesn't even particularly like himself.

Also have to recall that Tatiana was out of the country at the time of Cary's attack which was same night as the fight ( E & G headed to beach right from the concert).  While the jury is still out on whether or not she is pregnant, I'm sure there will be a showdown with Eva sometime in the next 2 books.

I think that Eva will get a wedding band if she doesn’t already have one in her pocket.  I think that she isn’t wearing one because she doesn’t want to call attention to the fact that they are already married.  She is saving face for her mother and friends.  I don’t think that Gideon wearing a band won’t attract that much attention though.  Some people may see it as a promise band and might not read too much into it.  It isn’t a traditional design and that may be its saving grace.

HI all ..... I'm trying to catch up and this may have stated already so sorry it restating ...

 

In Chp 20 when Eva has lunch with Cary she states......."grateful that I'd tucked my wedding ring into the zippered pocket of my purse."    Then later when she went back to Gideon's office she stttes ...." I unzipped the small pocket and drew out the rings inside it, slipping mine on."  Guess we will hear about the wedding ring when they get 'married' again. 

 

So it sounds like there are 2 rings but she isnt wearing the wedding band publicly just the engagement ring, whereas our boy doesn't give a crap who knows he married to her.  Gotta love him even more   

Did ev1 listen the interview Sylvia posted yesterday when she she said the next 2 books will resolve Gideon's issues?

 

This book answered alot of the outstanding questions but as discussed here there are still some things to resolve and Eva is determined to get EV to believe G.  

 

As for Corrine''s baby, she was drinking and partying from the moment she returned to NY so either she didn't know or she didn't care or maybe even didn't want the baby.  When G states that he wanted to believe she didn't know, makes you wonder if they had discussed childern in the past and she wanted lots.

I don't think anyone would know why Hugh would kill himself.  I can't see him leaving a note saying GC threatened him about being an abuser.  

The ring

You are right, with Christian, Ana was his safe place who brought him out of the darkness into the light.  The same with Gideon and Eva, she is his light, his anchor

Like eve1 else I really enjoyed this book and how both Eva (who I'm now reading as Ava  ) and Gideon have grown in their relationship.  The wedding was perfect and I loved that after he says 'Let's make if official', she simpley states 'I married Gideon Geoffrey Cross barefoot .......  

 

I wasn't happy about the ring being EV either since she is a toxic person.  But see that it is important to Gideon and if he doesn't relate it back to his Mom then neither should Eva.  And WTF is it with EV saying Eva was taking her son away from her.   is she that dense, she is the one who drove him away !!

 

And once again in the prenup we are back to Gideon stating 'he would give up everthing he owned' for her.  His trip to California falls in the category ' I will f**k up that he warned her about during that same discussion.  

 

I think it was Mrs C that made a comment about the construction site being the future office space for Eva,  I totally agree with that being her office they ended up on the couch.  I had wondered before when it would dawn on her to use her 'blood money' for a foundation or other charity work.  Great idea to include Cary in that project.  And having her own foundation would give her the independance she is so determined to achieve.  

 

As ev1 has stated I'm really mad that she is still hanging onto the idea that she a Brett can be friends.  If Gideon let's her go to SD alone he should be 'slapped silly'.  LOL   I think that he should be the one to tell Brett about the sex tape and together should protect her from any further mental hurt.   And he does need to know they are married.  The SD trip is perfect time to tell Cary and Victor they are married too.  

 

I didn't get the comment from Anne Lucas about Gideon f**king Deanna ( I guess that's who she was taking about) cause sure hasn't been in the 8+ weeks hes been in love with Eva.  That confused me other than her thinking it would upset Eva.  And how about Anne Lucas being the 'pot stirrer' at the end of EWY and Dr Terry doing it at the RIY.  What a pair
