What I understand, the USA covers are Gideon's things and the Europe covers are Eva's.

That is what I heard too. I like the theory of the luggage tags being symbolic of his "baggage". Because in my opinion if he (or they) are to travel, they'd most likey use Gideons vehicles (limo, bentley, airplane)

I know right? it's definitely going to created complications. We've already seen some of it in both books I'm curious as to how Sylvia will do this storyline on Cary.

I guess if he was with 1 person from each gender and all 3 knew about each other they could be in a happy healthy relationship.

In chapter 10, Eva gives Gideon a picture frame of a picture of herself. When would she have had time to get it? The last time she was alone, was before she had lunch with him. Also, what does 3:00 am have to do with graduation? I can see her having a frame on hand as well as a picture of herself, but a frame that depicts such a specific time. Out of both books, this was the only thing I had a hard time believing. Is it just me?

Other than that, I loved this chapter. I thought at this point things were really starting to look up for the two of them.

I had thought 3am was the time on the real clock from when Eva woke up due to Gideons nightmare.

I had a feeling she had set the display on the frame to match their extra early morning cuddle session.... To further remind Gideon of them together.

Oh boy are these characters ever complex! I think that each person can only ever be responsible for his/herself and no one else. So at the end of the day Tatiana couldn't be responsible for how her boyfriend may or may not have acted. But Tatiana is responsible for cheating on her boyfriend.

Since we have already established good will for others, I hope that Tatiana gets her act together what ever that may be. I hope that Cary finds someone or creates a relationship with someone who loves Cary for Cary and nothing else. What do you think? What does everyone think?

I agree Tatiana isn't responsible for her boyfriends actions. However she is responsible for her actions of cheating on him with Cary and enjoying the drama when the boyfriend found out. We didn't witness the drama first hand, we only learned if it when Eva shared a little with Monica when Cary was in the hospital after the attack.

I hope Cary ends up with a special someone (or two special someones) :-D

I asked this question earlier on in another thread, but I thought that the time may be right to ask it again: Do you think that Tatiana is a good match for Cary? I think that she is because she doesn’t seem judgmental about Cary’s bisexuality. She seems to be cool with the entire thing. What does everyone think?

I'm not a Tatiana fan.

After Cary was attacked we learned from Eva that Tatiana has a jealous boyfriend who was not ok with the Cary-Tatiana hook-ups. Eva suggested to Monica the police should contact Tatiana because of the way her (Tatiana) boyfriend reacted when he learned about the hook-ups.

Eventually the Cary-Tatiana relationship is going to be explosive for Cary.

I think that Gideon would help Cary out it necessary. He wouldn't want Eva to feel guilty about leaving Cary high and dry. Especially since he wants Eva to be focused on him(Gideon.)

I'm hopeful Cary will become successful with his career. This will make him more financially independent from Eva and her parents. I'm sure they would still be there for him (as his adopted family)

I could see him in a successful relationship.... Or happily single with a few friends with benefits.

Is it just me or did Mark tiptoe over the professional line when he decided to talk to Eva about her personal life? I found it a little odd (I know it was well intended but it was still odd). Maybe that passage was included to give the reader insight into Marks' level of experience or inexperience when it comes to dealing with an employee. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Yes I think Mark tip toed over the professional lines there... But he also said it was Nobel of his business and part of his concern was selfish... Not wanting to lose a great assistant because she doesn't want to work in a building owned by her ex.

I think he (Mark) meant well and had good intentions, even if it wasn't the most professional boss-employee conversation.

Actually, Detective Graves has figured out the truth that Gideon loved Eva so much he killed to protect her from a dangerous maniac. When I say "fool the cops"I mean that even though the cops know the truth, they have an uphill battle trying to prove that love.

They're up against a possible defense strategy of "No way can you convince a jury Gideon Cross loved Eva Trammel so much he had very good motive to commit murder. Because their short lived relationship fell apart while Nathan Barker was still very much alive. And it fell apart for very good reason too. So someone else must have done it."

Right now, Gideon's defense strategy would be pretty much this: "There's only one woman Gideon Cross ever had a serious long-term relationship with -- Corrine. They were together for three years, including engaged for one year. She broke it off, married someone else, and moved away. He never really got over her though. And now suddenly she's moved back, has left her husband, and has made it crystal clear she's still in love with Gideon. She's decided after all these years to go back to him. Soon after she came back, he dumped Eva Trammel, who he'd been seeing just a few weeks, and decided to see if he and Corrine could work out again." It's kinda convincing, because a lot of it is true -- the Corrine side of things, anyway, and the fact they actually did have a serious long-term relationship.

BUT .....

The timing of Gideon "getting back together again with Corrine" is just a little too convenient. He started dating Corrine again only a few days before Nathan died. A prosecutor might be able to convince a jury to accept what's the actual real truth here: Corrine is nothing more than part of the plot Gideon built. Gideon's cover story is kinda lame. But what can you expect -- he threw everything together on short notice -- and he made several huge mistakes too.

SO .....

A much better possible defense strategy would be "Gideon Cross went to Corrine for comfort after Eva Trammel hurt him so badly he dumped Eva. In front of witnesses, he caught Eva in the arms of an ex-lover -- a rock star no less who happens to signed with Vidal Records. She made him look pretty bad. We've got a long list of people who were there that night who could testify how angry Gideon got, including having Eva forcibly removed from his sight. Why would Gideon Cross kill Nathan Barker nearly a week later?" It's a pretty good cover because most of it is true -- the part about what happened at the concert, that is.

Except can't they use the rock concert fight as a display of Gideons affection for Eva. He "lost control when seeing her kiss another man" and "picture how he would "loose control" when confronted by her former rapist/attacker/tormenter/step-brother".

Pretty sure this depicts Eva's clothes thrown on some bedroom floor. Not his bedroom though, not from the description we've been given of the color scheme of Gideon's bedroom. It could be her room, or it could be another bedroom - hotel room, secret love nest, etc. ......

I was trying to tell if it was pantyhose or stockings.... It almost looked like pantyhose. We know Eva prefers stockings so maybe it is Cary's room with Tatiana?

I can totally see them getting married in a small ceremony on the beach possibly at the house in NC with their nearest & dearest - Cary, Ireland, Victor, Arnoldo, Monica, Stanton & of course Angus. Victor & Cary would give her away and Ireland would be maid of honor. Elopement would be another nice alternative and then have a small reception at the house in NC.

I see them getting married eventually, but not in the timeframe of EWY. It is only 2 weeks and Sylvia said they have a lot to work on. Maybe (ill hopefully LOL) book 4 or beginning of 5 will have our beautiful beach ceremony in NC.

My guess is they go to Cali to see Victor. My question is why the luggage tags? Wouldn't they be using one of Gideons planes where his crew would be handling the luggage?

But Eva did see a picture of Anne from her Internet search and did not connect the dots at that point...

Except the internet search on Lucas was not until later in Reflected.

And I still don't understand why he took corrinne out Monday if he didn't decide to kill him until Tuesday??

When Nathan attacked Cary he said "keep your hands off her" (meaning Eva).

Gideon wanted Nathan to cool down, back off, and not go after Eva and physically harm her.

To show in public get was not "with" Eva as far as Nathan is concerned he (Gideon) went out with Corrine to show with his actions they aren't together.

Do you think Gideon would purchase the beach house for Eva? They talked about it. Knowing how much Eva loved it.

Right now I can see Gideon purchasing the NC house but not saying anything to Eva or anyone else until later.

Gideons song should be Areosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing". So apt.

@ Peachies ~ you're welcome! Me too!! She said she wrote BTY, RIY, EWY back to back. She didn't mention when the 4th book would be coming out or what the name of it will be. She was telling us at the story of why EWY had a late start of when it would come out.

@LN ~ yes, exactly!! your theories are the same as what I was thinking. Call me crazy but when Det. Graves was making small talk with Victor, I kind of got the impression that she liked him but the description of Victor, who could blame her! I so want Victor to move on and find someone who loves him. he deserves it too! Ln, I was also thinking of you when I went back for the meet & greet later that night with a note pad to take notes. I'm a note taker kind of girl when it comes to learning new info because it helps me retain it better. It should've been called "A night with Sylvia" we had to move from a previous room because the band was playing and we found a room upstairs that was a library with lots of comfy chairs and we all sat around in a circle and it was more casual and fun that way compared to someone sitting on stage and we're sitting in the audience listening.

@Donna ~ I hope you have a blast at the Paramus book signing!! I wish I was going too. I would've loved to meet you there. I think I remember seeing that Syvia will do a Q&A before she does the book signing. She personalized my both my books and I hope she will do the same with yours and that you don't get rushed because I've been to previous booksigings at B&N before and they tend to rush you and not allow you to talk to the author. : ( Oh, she will not use a marker because it will bleed through the paper so she will write in pen on the title page. @Julie ~ I'm right there with you girl! Corrine needs to go asap!! lol When I read about Christopher getting his comeuppance I will be screaming "finally" lol is it sad I love Victor more than Monica at this point? I know she means well but she's not my favorite. Maybe that will change in the next book. I really want to Gideon and Eva together and happy. I also remember Sylvia saying that when she was writing EWY she was at first writing it for a new reader and not a series reader like us and leaving out a scene I think a sex scene but after talking to the editor she decided to write it for the series reader. June 4th can't get here fast enough. I'm counting down for Chaper 1!!

@sscrph~ it was at the Double Tree Hotel in Somerset NJ. The book signing was in the morning and she did some other panels throughout the day but I wanted to go for the meet & greet later that night.

hi Gigi~ In a way I got to be in a small discussion group when I went to the meet & greet with Sylvia last night in Somerset with a great bunch of ladies and men! it was supposed to be an hour but turned into three hours! Not many authors would take the opportunity to spend more time with their fans after their allotted time schedule ended and that's why Sylvia ROCKS!! I had a blast last night. She said book signings are rough because they rush you and you only get 2 min with to talk to a fan. I was expecting that yesterday but I was able to talk to her earlier when I got my book signed. I heard she is doing the Jacob Javits Center but I can't go to that or the one in Paramus so I'm glad I went last night. our meet and greet group was a group of about 16 women and two men one of which was my husband who never read the books but fit right in! lol I wish I had taken some notes because I did bring a notepad and wish I brought a recorder but I was just in awe to be in the same room with Sylvia much less sitting a smaller room and in a circle!

Here are some things we touched upon last night. If anyone was in the group with me last night please feel free to add in any missing info I might have missed and I apologize in advance if any of this is repeated from past forum conversations.

• Sylvia says she hates when people think or make out cops to be stupid because they're not. She said Det. Graves is almost on the mark.She knows how to read people
• Since Corrine was Gideon's first consensual sexual relationship, he felt obligated to her to take the phone calls and remain friends but Eva is his first and foremost concern in his life and if anyone is treating Eva miserably such as Corrine did, he will not be keeping her (Corrine) in his life.
• Magdalene & Corrine ~. Gideon and Magdalene grew up together and were friends because their mothers were friends and what was interesting is that

  Syvia said Corrine's parents were friendly with Gideon's parents back then. again if I misinterpreted that please correct me. I'm trying to be as accurate as possible.

• Christopher Jr. ~ When Eva went out to lunch with Christopher toward the end of Reflected and didn't go off on him like she did with Dr. Lucas, Elizabeth and Corrine, partly because he was 5 when Gideon was raped. She also said the storyline went downhill on that part. I'm trying to remember how she was describing it. anyway she also said that Christopher Jr. was not going to have a big part in EWY but he will be come up more in book 4 which is she halfway through writing
• We will learn more about Monica in EWY. It was brought up how Monica was nonchalant around Eva after the breakup and not trying to fix her up with someone else or being more supportive during the breakup. Monica was 2 dimensional.
• The series will be a quintent. BTY was supposed to be about Eva and RIY was supposed to be Gideon's but halfway through writing RIY both she and her editors said it was more about Eva then Gideon and that's why she is doing more books which I'm glad because of the time frame and getting his story. I only wish there was a Gideon POV book!
• It was also established that Gideon told Monica and Stanton that he was taking Eva away for the weekend because he knew Monica would worry endlessly about Eva knowing Nathan was still out there. The phone call Gideon took at the hospital was his contact on how was behind the attack.
• Victor is coming back which I'm happy about because I love him. He loves Eva so much and since he is prejudice against rich people, he wouldn't let his prejudice stand in the way of Eva's happiness if he knew how much Gideon loves and wants to protect Eva.

• someone brought up the subject of Cary being spun off into another book and she said Eva wouldn't be able to move on with her HEA if Cary was not in a good place nor would doing a prequel of Cary and Eva in San Diego and how their lives were back then pre -Gideon because the fans wouldn't like it without Gideon being in the story which I agree!

  Again if anyone wants to correct me or add more info, please feel free to because I'm sure I missed a few more pieces of information. I'm going back to read chapters 4& 5 now 6 since I wasn't able to yesterday.

I thought that it would have been mandatory for Mark to attend the presentation meetings. He was the person who was assigned the account wasn't he (or at least he was one of the people who were assigned to this account)? I thought that it was highly unusual for someone with Eva's employment title, to attend a meeting like that (she was an entry level employee). What do you think? What does everyone think?

I went back and reread that section in BTY. Yes Mark should have been there, cross industry asked for him specifically. Mark invited Eva to join him so she could observe the entire process and learn more. So normally a person in her entry assistant level position would not be at the meeting. Eva mentions how Mark has been showing and teaching her a lot since she started with him.

Just a thought .... Perhaps the start date for the job is based on when their pay period ends? Some companies the end of the pay period is on Monday, and the start of the next pay period is Tuesday. So starting on a Tuesday would be less headache for payroll, human resources, etc. That would explain Eva's start date.

See...I didn't know this....So Mark shouldn't have been at the meeting? We know Eva went just b/c Mark asked her to...but ..if she hadn't gone...Gideon would've attempted another way of meeting her? I'm confused about this. I was confused as to why Cary was saying that to her also.

I also don't understand how Eva fell into Gideon's arms....lol...woulnd't there have been a (probably) long conference table and Gideon would've been sitting at the end...so...unless the end was by the door, how would he ahve had time to stand and get to the door when she entered? I don't know...I just don't get how she fell into him..Not that I didn't enjoy reading about it!

I can see Mark being at the initial presentation because Gideon asked for him specifically for this ad campaign. Mark asked Eva to attend so she can see (and learn about) the whole process. (I think Mark likes to teach Eva about the company and the business - stuff you don't learn in the classroom)

Good point that Gideon would have most likely been at the opposite side of the conference table... Unless of course he was running from one meeting to another and he barely made it into the room before Mark & Eva. Or many conference rooms have windows, so I wonder if he saw Eva coming with Mark (or on the security cameras when they exited the elevators) and he (Gideon) made sure to be near the door they would be entering into the conference room?

Hi GiGi. The mystery man statement was really about Megumi's blind date. Who is he? Obviously he has money because they are going out to his grandparents house over the weekend which is in the Hampton's. It can't be Nathan because he's been dead but I find it suspicious that Meg doesn't say his name. I thought maybe it was Christopher, but I'm not sure. I feel like he will (or has) played a part in the story.

I don't see Christopher Jr going on a blind date. Or going on a blind date, then letting the blind date set him up on a new blind date.
