 I don't think it is about Elizabeth or his dad. I think it is about Gideon. Eva will do anything to make Gideon happy and she hates that he suffers so much from a sad childhood. She wears the ring proudly because it reminds Gideon of a happy time and she want there to be many more happy times. I love Eva; with all her flaws she wants to be everything to Gideon...and he to Eva.

 I agree with you for the most part but I just didn't like that Brett told her she would change her mind once he was in her again. To me that should send up red flags. Even Cary warned Eva to just say no. I think it is the fact that, even though she loves Gideon, she is still hurt by the way he used her emotions against her.

I agree with your list except Monica. I would move her down to 4 and put Dr. Terry Lucas at #2. He felt more loyalty to an adult relative than to a child who was abused. I wonder if Anne was the other doctor that told Elizabeth that Gideon wasn't abused. I hate that whole family.  #4 on my love list is Clancy. I think he is a good guy and like he told Eva she is more than a job.Â

 It rubbed me the wrong way too when Eva called Gideon on his lie. I wanted to yell at Gideon and tell him you can be a real a-hole sometimes. I’m still up in the air but I don’t think Gideon has come clean with his thought processes when he broke it off with Eva. I understand that he wanted to protect her but I wanted them to talk this through a little more.   Did he learn this lesson yet about saying one thing and doing another? I'm not sure. I thought her repeated his behavior later in the novel.   I literally yelled out loud when I read Gideon call Eva catty. I didn’t think Eva was being catty at all. I think she was honest about her feelings and relating what Deanna said. I wanted Gideon to look at the situation from her perspective and I don’t think he did.  I am proud of Eva for acknowledging her feelings. I think the fact that she is openly talking about them is good for her because they won’t fester inside and make her doubt herself. I also think it will help Gideon in the long run because he will communicate more.

 I agree Anne Lucas makes me crazy and I think she latched onto Corinne too. I think Eva is thinking the same thing.  There is no way that I will give Corinne a pass I still HATE her and Sylvia will have to go a long way to make me like her in the slightest. In fact, I'm not sure I ever will. I feel so bad for Gideon that he is taking all this on himself and feeling cursed.  I really have to go to work now.Â

 I agree. I think Anne even knew that Corinne was pregnant. Anne is a sick chick just like her husband and brother.

  I think it is Clancy is behind the bracelet thing. His brother is FBI and would know how to lure the mob in the right direction. It is possible that they (FBI) had surveillance on the Russian Mob and Clancy's brother shared knowledge that they couldn’t reveal because the FBI has a bigger fish to fry, so to speak. Clancy told Eva that she was more than a job and he said he would do whatever it takes to protect his family.  I'm hoping this isn’t someone else who wants to harm this couple. The reason an outsider would help Gideon anonymously would be to shake Gideon down and then they would always have that hanging over their head. I wouldn’t like that scenario and I don’t think Sylvia would use it.

The Brett twist made me angry because I can see that Eva is reverting to her old patterns. She kissed Brett to punish Gideon and now she accepted a date and took him back to her place to continue to punish Gideon for the way he treated her the past few weeks. I don't this she is doing this intentionally but she is still feeling some of the pain, IMO, that Gideon put her through.  Even after they were married and opening up to her Gideon still pushed her away at the hospital and then flew to California. If he could text Angus he could have sent a message to his wife. These two people are still working through their personal issues.  The other people were in the first two books and I want to know more about them so there story doesn't bother me and it didn't seem too much. I see many of these ancillary characters as the people/situations that these two need to resolve to get to the right place with their lives.  I didn't have a problem with Gideon meeting Deanna the way he did. It made sense not to bring her to the apartment (like Eva did with Brett) but to keep her in public, apologize to her for being a d**k and then getting the information about the video. If he didn't know about that and put a hold on it getting released it would devastate Eva.  I love the bracelet twist. I didn't expect that at all and I believe that it will be the way Gideon gets out from under the murder. I think Clancy is behind it. (I'll explain later but I have to get to work).  Cary & Tat are a problem. I'm still thinking about this but I like it.  Victor & Monica Oh my.  Corinne I hated her when we first met her and I hate her even more now. What a terrible thing to do to Gideon! He thinks he's cursed. (cried)  I hate that we are busy today but I have to work or I can't buy books. For me I LOVED THIS BOOK AND WANT TO READ MORE!

 Me too. I just loved how Gideon was worried about asking Eva and, of course, Eva was worried that Gideon was leaving her.  I also loved that Gideon said he was going to hold her there until she said yes. When they were on the plane and she saw her luggage tags.  I love Angus and want to know more about him.

 so this is naughty sexy in Italian. My husband's grandparents are from Italy and they tried to teach me a little Italian but I don't know enough. My aunt, who speaks Italian to her mother all the time, didn't foul anyone when she was in Italy. As soon as she opened her mouth they smiled and said "Americano" She was upset because she thought her Italian was spot on. :-)
