I am watching a new television show called "Rush".   This is Tom Ellis who could be Gideon.  He is 6'3" and does Speedo ads.

I agree with all of the topics you ladies have posted, but the one thing that I hope will be revealed is why Christopher hates Gideon so much. I have an older brother & he received attention when I didn't as a child & we also fought like cats & dogs...typical sibling behavior...but today we love each other dearly. There is much more to this sibling hatred between the two brothers than we know. Maybe Sylvia will reveal that in book 4.

This is one of the most important, unanswered themes in the series

So the readers know who Gideon's abuser was, the guy who was Anne's brother, correct? What is left to find out is what makes Elizabeth deny it as well, am I right? 

Tell me if I have this right: what is left a mystery in the last book is the deal with the mob, where the heck megumi is, why Monica is obsessed with money, and if Brett is involved with the sex tape. I feel like all that can be wrapped up in one book, thinking about how drama packed Sylvia makes them, which makes me wonder what in the world she has in store for us in the next two....

 

I understand S's reluctance in giving us a time frame for the book, especially because she is still writing the 5th one, but ughhhhh in June it will be a year. My mind is running wild with filling in the holes for everything above. 

 

Maybe megumi is prego and has had really bad morning sickness, like the kind where you barf all day. But does anyone else think that she is like overlyyyy ######? If you think about it, she makes remarks like every scene she is in about how sexy a man is or she says she wants to do someting naughty to them. Like every scene. I think it's hilarious and has become comic relief  when I am rereading. Next time you re-read, notice how she makes some sexual remark about a man ALL the time.  

Also how long Gideon was abused; why and how did the abuse stop; what happens with Tiatiana/Cary/Trey; does Corinne leave; does Giroux seek revenge; does Anne know about her brother's suicide and will she seek revenge; what will happen between Monica and Eva's dad; Gideon's relationships with his mother, sister , and brother; and the official wedding just to name a few unanswered questions/plot lines

I listened to Sylvia's Q&A on YouTube yesterday.  It was the one recorded in February.  She stated the television series could/should be ready by this time next year.  That is something to look forward to.  She also said the producers are interested in our (the fans) opinions but that is not to be confused with the idea that we have any control. 

Davis Gandy is yummy for sure, but he's been the face of Ethan Blackstone - Raine Miller's Blackstone Affair - so for me I can't see Gideon

I have been away for awhile but this is my open letter to Lionsgate

 

Dear Jeremy Bolt, producer of Crossfire at Lionsgate,

 

I went to see Divergent on opening day.  I have watched Theo James grow as an actor from Downton Abbey to Golden Boy and now Divergent.  I would love to see you do a screen test of him for Gideon.  Since he is already at Lionsgate, you know where to find him.

 

He seems to have grown over these years as an actor.  I think he can play the many facets of Gideon's personality.  (Thinking of Veronica Roth's quote regarding Theo as Four/Tobias)  He also looks very good in a black tee shirt.  I am not sure of the color of his eyes but I know you can do wonders with contact lens and Gideons must be blue.

 

Please do not wait too long to get started on the television series.  We fans await your decision.

Henry Cavill said in an interview that the director created the sex scenes, referring to his work as Charles Brandon, so you need to hire the director(s) from The Tudors television series.

So I read on FB that there are like 9 sex scenes that are being deleted from FSOG movie.  All of the oral sex scenes, masturbation, and toys. (A good director should be able to get the point across without actually showing body parts for heaven sake.)  Even dialogue is being removed.   Fans are furious that the whole sexual awakening of Ana is being gutted.  This was to keep the movie R rated for US audiences.  Then it was suggested that making a TV series for a cable channel would have been better.  Of course I thought of CROSSFIRE.  I hope that Sylvia's amazing scenes are not gutted.  I hope the language is not censored.  Lord, I love G's words during sex.  So hot.

Hmmm...images of Tom Welling in a tux are mouth watering... He could definitely be Gideon.

Just looked at Tom's images....chiseled nose, rocks a tee shirt, long dark hair, 6'3", etc ....he could definitely work for me.

I know there has been some comments regarding the two years that Eva was probably in graduate school.  I think a more interesting time lapse is how long Gideon was abused.  We know it started more then seventeen years ago before his sister was born.  We know Gideon did not have consensual sex until Corinne in college.  We do not know when he told his mother about Hugh or if she separated Gideon from Hugh's care.  We know Gideon was examed by two pediatricians but a child could be treated by that type of doctor until 18.  I hope "Captivated by You" provides answers.

The May date rumor started because Amazon UK had a preorder up for CBY, that was then copied by some foreign bookseller websites. This error was overseas only and never affected any US booksellers or e-tailers. The UK preorder was an error and was quickly removed (Penguin UK released a statement here: http://po.st/l3RuYS explaining).

 

AFTERBURN and AFTERSHOCK are published by Harlequin in conjunction with Cosmopolitan magazine. They have a completely separate distribution and order fullfillment process, but they face the same issue all my traditional publishers do--booksellers don't want my ebooks to release before the paperbacks. Therefore, if the publisher has to move the paperback release date for any reason, they have to move the ebook, too. Moving forward, my publishers aren't placing my books up for preorder until the paperback release date is immovable and set in stone, so that there's no chance of the release being moved. This couldn't be worked out with Harlequin.

 

I've said this before, but I'll say it again... It's impossible to compare the releases of my books to other authors, unless you're looking at authors like Dan Brown and George R. R. Martin--authors who don't have preorders for their next books available until a few weeks before the book comes out. It's a major endeavor for a publisher and retailers to get over a million books out on shelves on a single day. No one wants what happened with REFLECTED IN YOU (which sold out before noon on the day of release) to happen again. If you think it's frustrating waiting for a release date, imagine how frustrating it is when the release date comes and every store you visit is sold out of the book and you have to wait another week for them to restock. Those who read ebooks don't have this worry, but I have a lot of paperback readers who buy their books in stores and they want the books on time, too.

 

I know it seems like nothing is happening, but trust me... things are happening; I'm just not at liberty to discuss a lot of it. All the various pieces are being put into place so that the "reveal" has no missing or moveable parts. (This goes for the TV show, too, which is a completely separate thing from the books--the timeline of one is in no way dependent on the other.) I'm really looking forward to the day when announcements are made!

Thank you for the update.  I did not know "Reflected in You" sold out so fast but I did guess any publisher would be concerned about how many "Captivated by You"  books would be needed to satisfy the fans of a seriers that has sold 12 million plus (so I read).  I have always thought they're concern was how many books to produce considering there are only so many printing presses in existence and more than one author to serve.   I also thought the other issue would be the international market.  That having been said, I do wish your publish would hurry up and figure this out so we fans can get your next Eva/Gideon book.

Betty--you are so right.  The challenge will be to find the right look and the right skills.  Add to that lines like only Sylvia can write and you have a major hit.

Yeah!  Too bad Hugh is too old and Henry is getting older and more expensive as we wait for the last two books.

 

Lionsgate could start with the first three books.  They started making the "Divergent" movie (with a release date for March, 2014) before the third book of the series, "Allegiant", was published on October 22, 2013

I agree! I'd hate it if it were a movie because they'd ruin it for sure. Just look at Twilight! It wasn't an amazing read or anything but it would have flourished and been more entertaining to watch if it were a series ala Vampire Diaries or True Blood. i HATE movie adaptation because they eliminate some of the core things from the novels almost all the time. I wouldn't mind if they wrote the script word for word out of the Crossfire novels!

I obviously I love reading Sylvia but I have hoped since I heard about the television deal with Lionsgate that they would cast an actor not just a body. So much of what Sylvia has written are the thoughts and emotions of the characters.  Dialogue can be lifted from the book but the Lionsgate Gideon must show us

REGARDING FSoG

According to E. l. James, Universal planned a multi-movie adaptation from the beginning. I read there would probably be three. I am sure the second and third movies will only be made if the first one is "successful" by the studio's standards.

I used to wonder... how come Crossfire didn't get a movie of its own? but at the same time I always felt that it's hard to take this genre into movie format because, in my opinion, 2hrs is not time enough to present all the amazing sex scenes involved AND tell the characters' story and the complex plot in detail. Tons of sex and poor plot could end up being a cheap movie. I think that's FSOG worst enemy. I feel its plot is very weak. So, when I read that Crossfire was getting a TV series I was sooo thrilled !! THAT's the way to go !! Crossfire is a story to follow and cherish for months ! Cant wait ! Congrats, Sylvia !

As for THE actor and actress to play Gideon and Eva... I really don't know ! In my mind Eva is me! ! and Gideon is a 35 y/o Johnathon Schaech even when he is not my kind of guy! LOL

Eva is easier to agree with this or that choice. But Gideon... that pick will be tough ! I'd love Gideon would be 35 for the movie! That would make it possible to pick among actors that have more experience and art to pull a Dark and Dangerous that I can actually buy. I don't even like Gideon to have a perfect face! you know... imperfect beauty pays off! Not that I want him for Gideon, but I love Christian Bale's perfect imperfections, for instance. I hope it makes sense for you the way it does for me

Sorry I do not know his age at the time the picture was taken. I was telling a friend about Crossfire and happened to come across that picture of Hugh at the same time she was listening to Gideon's description in the audio book....and when I saw that photograph I said that is my vision...of Gideon!!

I respecfully disagree.  I have always felt Elizabeth went to Terrence on a referral from Anne or because of a personal relationship for a second opinion.  The Lucas and the Vidal families seem to travel in the same social circles.

Last word on Brett, well for today, that is. Know who needs to make Brett go away? Eva. She needs to Cut. The. Guy. Off. It's not like he's been stalking her. She keeps agreeing to see him. Took him out to lunch. Went with him to the video premiere. Took him out to dinner. Even invited him back to her apartment. Yeesh, Eva, talk about mixed messages. Ya think? Well, now that she's taken vows to "foresake all others" Brett needs to be the first on the foresaken list. Maybe the upcoming visit to San Diego involves her telling Brett goodbye, that it wouldn't be appropriate for them to even be friends anymore?

Great song but E L James already took it for Christian and she calls it the Stalker's Anthem in FSOG.  It is on the make-up iPad he gives Ana in Fifty Shades Darker.  I expect to hear it in the movie if they can get the rights to include it.
