Who do you see as Gideon, Eva, Cary, Mark,...?
GiGi replied to MsGemini's topic in The Crossfire Saga
Those are good choices as well. I think there will be a lot of actors who have the right look and temperment to play the role of Elizabeth Vidal. -

Hi Julie, You lost me with your second theory. How does Monica know that Gideon killed Nathan? How do you connect the dots for that scenario. Gideon hadn't said anything to anyone about his plans and most certainly didn't say anything to Monica about what he intended to do.  How would Monica have known that Gideon was going kill Nathan on that night and not on some other night? How would Monica know Gideon's whereabouts? Who would have been helping Monica in getting to the potential murder scene? How did Monica even know where Nathan was staying?  There are so many dots to connect. Could you please explain? I really would like to understand your theory. Thanks in advance. -

Hi Barb, Thanks for taking the time to post these summaries. It is really nice of you to do this for the members.  Best line:  "Che vinca il migliore" I love, love, love Italian!!!  I think in one way Eva was able to relax when Arnoldo babysat her and Brett because she knew that Arnoldo would report back to Gideon that nothing went on during the dinner.  In another way, I think that Eva was anxious because she had a history with Arnoldo and he had seen her when she wasn't at her best (when she kissed Brett) and she may be worried that Arnoldo continues to judge her.  Page 244 confirms this: "Ugh". I sat back in my chair. "I'm not a prize. Or I should say: I'm no prize." Arnoldo shot me a look. Obviously he didn't wholly disagree with me. I didn't blame him; he knew I'd kissed Brett and had seen the effect it'd had on Gideon.  I don't think that it was a good idea for Brett to go back to Eva's place. The whole Brett and Eva dinner/evening launch party should have ended at the restaurant, but it may have helped to solidify the public perception that Eva was continuing to go on with her life without Gideon, thereby solidifying his claims of having broken up with Eva because of infidelity (with Brett). Overall it was a well written, brilliantly scripted scene. -

Hi Claudine, I was just wondering what is the wording like with historical romances? How are the romantic scenes described? I read a historical novel once and half way through I put it down. Somehow the writing didn't seem authentic. The writing seemed choppy. It was NOT a book by Sylvia, it was another author. What makes a historical novel good in your opinion? -

Hi Gabri, Your theories are completely plausible! I personally think that Brett is a dirt bag who never thought of anyone other than himself! My proof is in his release of that video. No grown man (I do mean emotionally grown man) could ever possibly think that any woman would want to have her intimate and very private life with said man, exposed in such a public way. Whether that was original video or it was recreated doesn't make a difference!!  Eva wh*red herself emotionally and physically and what she got was Brett snickering to one of his friends about what a good lay she was...Astounding! I agree with you that Brett is looking out for his best interests and not for Eva's. He never even appologized for his behaviour. Everytime he went to appologize, he followed it up with a justification. That's not an appology!  Gabri, book this boy a plane ticket, or buy him a rubber dingy (boat), toss it and him into the ocean with a couple of paddles and a weeks supply of food and water and say C I A O !!!!!  Start paddling for California or anywhere else but here baby!!! :; -

Hi Nrock, You are correct. The interactions between Ireland and Gideon and Eva are so innocent. It does remind me of what it used to be like in grade school.   It is one of the more innocent and light-hearted moments in the book. -
 Thank you. Â

Hi Rogue, I agree with your assessment about Corinne per say. Where I think we differ is that somewhere along the lines, Gideon never told Corinne why he let her walk away all those years ago. I think that Corinne held on to the hope that she could win Gideon back because she never heard from his lips that he never really loved her or that he was so screwed up that he wasn’t capable of loving her the way that a woman should be loved. I agree that Gideon was inadvertently sending Corinne mixed messages. He used Corinne as his cover and also used her to deflect any potential speculation or suspicions about Eva away from her.  Now that Corinne is in the hospital, I think that Gideon owes her one more conversation, with the presence of her psychiatrist. He needs to explain that he never loved her or wasn’t capable of loving her they way a woman deserves to be loved. I too, don’t think that Gideon would need to go into detail about his past other than to say that he was one seriously screwed up individual and that at that stage in his life; he wasn’t capable of loving himself, let alone anyone else.  I also agree with you, that Corinne will probably get hurt when she finds out what Gideon had been hiding from her. Quite frankly he needs to own that. That’s why I suggested that Corinne’s psychiatrist be present during that final conversation. If Corinne has held false hopes or has beaten herself up all these years because she thought that she did something wrong and lost this “wonderful†relationship, then Gideon needs to let her off the hook.  Above and beyond that, I don’t think that Gideon owes Corinne anything more. To continue to have contact with this woman, in her state of mind, would only be cruel. What do you think? Hi Sscrph, They all need to stop the lies! Lies by omission, straight out lies, deceptions, half-truths, etc. They are all just as damaging and quite frankly, I am getting a little tired of all the lies. Enough now...  You are absolutely correct about Gideon. That man doesn't have a clue about what makes a woman tick. I think Gideon needs to start being more honest with everyone (including Corinne if he misled her and then send her on her way). I think that Gideon's nightmares might finally subside as soon as he takes the pressure off of himself. What do you think?Â

OMW!! I am howling with laughter!! I was sitting here and trying to figure out what the heck a priestess gown was. I called a few friends who are ministers and they were howling and laughing at me while I was trying to explain ( a g-rated version of the wedding scene) the priestess gown.  I think they thought I had eaten way too many gnocchi (delicious little Italian potato dumplings smothered in homemade tomato sauce....ahhhhh!!!). Anyway, we all had a good laugh! :) -

Hi Sscrph, Your theory is plausible. It is possible that Dr. Lucas gave Hugh the head's up, or it could have been a warning (keep your hands off the kids, etc.) which could also be another possible reason why Dr. Lucas kept his distance from his wife. He wouldn't have wanted to explain to his wife why he did want to hang out with him at family functions, etc. It could be possible. Anything is possible. What do you think?

So Sscrph, Who do you think will be the first recipient of Eva's Krav Maga skills? Who will get to open the first can of "whoop a*s"?Â

Hi Cuddlygurl, Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy yourself.
-
Hi Claudine, I agree with you. I would simply add that Angus would have been legally responsible for contacting the police because Gideon was his charge (i.e. he was his bodyguard and chauffeur) and would also have been responsible for making sure that Gideon got medical attention (i.e. a trip to the hospital).  It is for those reasons I too, don't think that Angus walked in on Gideon being raped.  Your corrleation between Angus and Gideon to Dr. Travis to Eva is a good one! I never thought of it that way, but I can see it. Thank you.
-
Hi Julie, No worries. It's all good. I was just doing a clarifying to make sure that my point was understood.Â

Hi Rogue, Your scenario sounds plausible and quite frankly more palatable. If Angus knew about the abuse then somewhere along the line he must have dropped the ball. Hugh was scot free and in practice when Gideon tracked him down all those years later. Anyone who gets accused of s**ual abuse of child would never get his license to practice medicine or psychiatry!!! Period!!! Ever!! He would be a potential danger to society and the Medical Licensing Board could face horrendous law suits.  I could see Angus suspecting and Gideon not confirming because of fear. Angus seems like a very astute man and it wouldn't have taken an idiot to see Gideon's change in personality. I think that he may have hovered and made himself available every time Gideon started acting out (like just before one of his scheduled sessions with Hugh). I could also see Angus teaching Gideon self defense, but at the end of the day, I don't think that Angus walked in on Gideon being abused.  Angus seems like a very honourable man, as such he would have been directly responsible for having to make sure that Gideon got medical attention (i.e. taking Gideon to the hospital) and to call the Police (to report the abuse that he had witnessed), which didn't occur thus far in Gideon's story. Anything less than those actions would have been negligence on Angus's part and we love our Angus. So my money is on Angus suspecting and not much more. What does everyone think?
