  1. Yes, Gideon is clean shaven, I don't think there was even a mention of stubble on his chin in the books.

David Gandy with Henry Cavill in London tonight.  mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  2. The Dutch book websites say the book is 352 pages long - I have also seen another date on their pages but I'm not going to tempt fate by saying what that is as I suspect it cannot be correct, although I wish it was as we would all be very happy.

  3. One of those web sites now has the date of 01/03/16 - not sure if that is UK style so March or US so January.  Whichever, it's still a lot more than a few months between books.  Wonder if the rumours are correct that although the book was supposed to be finished, it is being re-written.

Note, I am not complaining, although I'd have loved an earlier release date.  Will be happy to have the book whenever it releases and if it is being re-written that can only be because the author is fulfilling our needs for a really good ending to this series.  It's the author's right to get their book out when they are ready for it to be released, not just to fit in with readers wishes, heaven forbid any author put out a rushed work that could be seen as sub-standard, when a little patience on the part of readers is all that is required.  I really hate the comments some write on Ms  Day's facebook page and the constant 'when is book 5 coming out' when all the information people need is on her web site.  I know some would like to see a reason for the delay but again it's the author's (or publisher) prerogative to put their book out when they are ready to.

  4. I can just see the complaints from trilogy fans if a sixth book is announced - personally I'd be very happy to have a book a year about the characters (spin-offs about Cary, Ireland etc.) but even now there are still people moaning about the amount of books.

There were rumours some months ago about a sixth book but Sylvia was pretty emphatic that there would only be five - although as we know, things can change.

If I remember correctly there was also going to be at least one of the books for the Blacklist series released this year but no sign of that (web site no longer has any anticipated release years mentioned).  The lady has had a very busy year with other commitments to book fairs, author events and the like and always seems to be travelling so no surprise there's been little new output this year.

  5. Hmm, the date of 24 November appears on a lot of sites for a paperback with the title een met jou by Sylvia Day.  Also on Amazon.de  http://www.amazon.de/Een-met-jou-druk-Crossfire/dp/9400506058

So bearing in mind Captivated by You released in Netherlands on 2 December and in Germany on 8 December the first publication date for One With You could be late October/early November????

But let's not get too excited, this could be an error on the part of those web sites.

  6. I live in hope she will do an E L James and the book will be announced and released at short notice.  I thought we had a lot more teasers of CBY before release announcement, than we have had for this book (I don't count the cast speculation as teasers for the book as they are for the tv series).  It can't be easy knowing so many people are waiting for this book and not getting it out to them, and having to put up with the comments on Facebook and Good Reads.  Guess we al feel 'entitled' to have this last book asap but in the real world that doesn't always happen.

Hopefully whatever the reason for the delay means we will get an amazing end to their story.

  7. Just seen on Twitter that a fan asked if the book would be out this year and Sylvia's reply was "I haven't heard yet, but I'm hoping so!'.  Could that mean it's all in the hands of the publisher?  And if so why the heck are they holding back release, all her other books are on hold till this series is finished with so it's not just fans of Crossfire that are becoming agitated.

We gotta get Eva and Gideon back to living together.  I assume that will happen petty quickly.  In order for Gideon to heal and get rid of his nightmares he's going to have to face his mother and she's going to have to apologize and explain what happened and why she didn't believe him.  I don't think he can heal and move on without that happening.

The relationship with his mother and his half-brother does need resolving.  I've always wondered if there is more to their rift than Gideon has revealed so far, we all know he is sparing with giving out facts.  Why does Christopher accuse Gideon of wanting him dead since the day he was born?  Did something happen early on?  Gideon was obviously traumatised by his father's suicide.  His mother re-marries and it seems his step-father has always liked him so he must have accepted Chris Vidal, but then Christopher is born - was Gideon already having nightmares and did he do something to Christopher - with Christopher then getting some revenge by telling his mom that the therapist had not abused Gideon.

The fact Elizabeth asked Christopher about the abuse indicates Christopher would have been with Gideon at least some of the time when the therapist was present and we know from Captivated by You that the abuse went on for a year so, as with Eva's abuse, there must have been a fair amount of turning a blind eye to what was happening to him.  I hope we get to learn Angus part in that, nothing is said but the way he speaks to Eva in some scenes indicates he has some knowledge of why Gideon acts as he does.

  8. Well, up to now in my minds eye I have visualised David Gandy as Gideon because for me his height, physique and looks fitted what I saw as Gideon.  I haven't really seen any of Henry Cavill's films so was happy to imagine David as I read the books.  But just seen Henry on UK TV news with Guy Ritchie publicising Man from Uncle and seeing him being himself, speaking with his own voice - mmm, beginning to see the potential.  I think I may need to study him a little more and go see Man from Uncle.

  9. Definitely not Anne at that event, how could it be - she would have been seated with her husband who had joined the table Gideon and Eva were at.  As Sylvia has said she does not really plan the story line ahead but the characters speak to her, it may have been later she decided on the Anne Lucas storyline would evolve and she be a redhead.

I hope once release date is set we again get at least the first chapter to read.  She has promised more snippets.

And who knows, we may have contributed to the delay in publishing - on this site we've publicised which parts of the storyline we would like to see an end to and she may well be adding to her original draft to ensure all that is covered??

  10. Karaoke place is The Starlight Lounge.  Shawna told Eva that at the start of chapter 8 CBY when she suggested they do karaoke.  I took the way Gideon answered to mean that he did own it - he certainly knew his way around the behind the scenes areas.

Not sure what the investment was when he spoke to the person about the storm, it's the start of chapter 13 of CBY, there's a project engineer, a storm and a possible set back of a week or two but 'we'll open on time.'

    The Games division is GenTen.

    He also now owns PosIT.

(I begin to see an advantage of e-books over hard copies other than you get an e-book immediately it is released - finding things in the book is so much easier.)

  11.

The Club towards the start of Bared to You is not identified, the Club in Entwined with You where they have sex in the room off the walkway is Primal.

    Crosstrainer gyms

    Kingsman Vodka

Cross Towers and Casino in Vegas

    La Rose Noir winery

D'Argos Regal is the hotel on Thirty-sixth (the eff pad)

    Tableau One is Arnaldo's restaurant

  12. Sylvia was involved in a Facebook Q&A session today.  Obviously still no release date news but definitely more of Gideon's  POV in One With You and although that is the last book in the Crossfire series she indicates we may learn more about Gideon and Eva in other books (wonder if that means Blacklist as it is set in the same area but the two books will span far more time than Crossfire).  (She says she has a lot of book hopping characters and Gideon did briefly get mentioned in one book, with Deanna in another.

We will also get another snippet from the book (hope that is soon).

  13. I just re read CBY and in chapter 18 I think I have finally figured out why Deanna was so scorned. Gideon is telling Eva that he used Deanna to let Anne know that the door was closed between them. He says Deanna was collateral damage and she would have been a one night stand over and done with. So maybe I'm wrong but it seems they had more than one night. .In EWY he tells Eva that he #$%& Deanna once but perhaps she was a repeated "sexual encounter" to keep Anne away. Also Anne also told Eva that Deanna must be good in bed because he #$%% her alot. So now I'm thinking they may have fooled around with his toys more than just one night.

I have wondered why Deanna was so upset. I guess when he finally decided to have intercourse with her he answered the phone. And asked her to leave. I also thought their conversation in CBY was odd when she brought the news of Corrine's book...she calls herself his lover and Gideon told her he is not like that anymore. I thought this was odd for a night that didn't end well. . But i could be wrong.. He did tell Eva he tends to avoid overly eager woman, which he insinuated Deanna was just that...

Any thoughts? I'm desperately waiting the next book and perhaps over thinking what Deanna's problem was. She's a modern woman who has had many one night stands.

Deanna had also heard (from who???) that Gideon was 'dark'  - Entwined with You Deanna to Eva "That man has a dark side."  Eva replies "Don't we all?"  Then Eva's thoughts are 'What had she seen of Gideon?  What had he revealed in the course of their .... association?  If they had one.'  The dark side comment was in response to Eva querying what Deanna's angle was in seeking information from Eva about Gideon.

Later in the book Deanna was digging for information as to whether Gideon was violent ("are you in an abusive relationship with Gideon Cross?  Is he violent with an uncontrollable temper?")  He obviously can be (killing Nathan, his feelings as a reaction to the events of the day when he tied Eva up in the elevator, although he had managed to dissipate some of his anger but Captivated By You  revealed that some of his previous s*x life had been less vanilla than the earlier books had indicated, his reaction to his brother challenging him).

If his relationship with Corrine was purely vanilla and he only had s*x in that hotel room, somewhere along the line he became very proficient at pleasing a woman, obtaining whatever toys were in the drawer Eva did not open, seemingly finds 'tasting' a woman less intimate than actually f**king one - not sure I'm on the right track there by the way, just a feeling that he's done that to women more than actual intercourse.  Knowing about a s*x swing and apparently comfortable with putting someone into one (some of this could be explained by viewing internet p*rn of course).

  14. I've read a few reviews on Amazon and Good Reads where the reader feels that Captivated by You is just the same book/storyline as Entwined with You.  I don't get it?  Also that they see Gideon as weak and whiney.

Are people just determined not to like this book because the series is no longer a trilogy and/or because of the delay in publication?

Where in EWY do we have any of Gideon's point of view?  Where do we learn he can sing?  Where do we learn how he treated Ann Lucas when he slept with her and why he did that - I thought that was in CBY, not EWY.  Where do we learn that Corrine is writing a tell all book?  Where do we meet Gideon's friends?

I'm as impatient as everyone to read One With You and was to read CBY but can't say I get so annoyed at the space between books that I would write reviews that basically show that the reader has not read the book properly.  CBY requires careful reading, it is quite subtle with some of the storyline but I suspect the entire contents of the book are important for us to understand to get to One With You.

One reviewer even criticised the fact that the book ended with 'a date'.  Well the author always ends the books on a positive note, what did they want, Gideon in bits because Eva had completely left him - the guy who so far has lost almost everything in his life that should come from love - family (other than Ireland who he is making great strides with but that is not the same as losing your mother and your wife).   Yes in his personal life he is weak because he's built barriers to make him strong in his public life which is going well.  But he needs that private life to be strong as well - the fact he opened up to Eva about his past quite early in their relationship (albeit in dribs and drabs of information) showed he was starting to break down his barriers.

I think Eva thought he was a bit of a loner, but in CBY she gets to meet his male friends and realises that he is not alone and I wonder if that is why she feels it is time to break Gideon quickly rather than wait for him to do it in his own time which could take some time.

I sincerely hope we get the last book before Christmas, but if we don't it will only be because the author is ensuring the final book really is outstanding, clears up all our questions and leaves Gideon and Eva with the biggest HEA of any book ever written.

  15. With all the garbage that Sylvia is getting on the release dates of her books I can 100% see how Erika would want to keep Gray under wraps until it was ready to go.   Why subject herself to the name calling and all the other stuff Sylvia has had to tolerate.

I can't believe some of the vitriol I have read pointed at this author, never seen it aimed at any other author whose books are delayed for whatever reason.  I know everyone is anxious to finish reading the Crossfire story but there is little excuse for the level of rudeness coming from some readers.  I even read on one site that any reader who actually liked Captivated By You and supports the author is basically an idiot.  Seems that, despite the fact that each person has their own opinion of the book, it's only the opinion of some who disliked it that counts.  Plus they think the author is messing around with her audience - no idea why any author would do that or why any reader would assume an author was messing up.

I guess whatever has been said in the past by any author is subject to change for reasons which are beyond their or the publishers control.  It may be that Penguin wanted to hold back this book until after the E L James was published, that was obviously planned some time in advance as everything was in place for the e-book, physical book and audio book all to release on the same day, and that takes more than the time we had between the announcement and publication.

Some still cannot get over the fact there will be 5 books rather than the 3 that seem to have been originally planned.   I didn't get Bared to You until a couple of months after publication and only ever saw it advertised as part of the Crossfire Series.  Oddly the Amazon description of the third book (which was published after the announcement there would be 5 books as mentioned at the end of the book) says "The sizzling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Crossfire Trilogy following Bared to You and Reflected in You!"  Bared to You and Reflected in You both only refer to the Crossfire Series.  Whatever the case, being someone who has enjoyed reading all four books so far, I am more than happy that there are 5 books in the series, and wouldn't mind an occasional novella appearing perhaps focussing on Cary but telling us more about Gideon and Eva's future life together.

  16. Wonder if Corrine has accepted defeat in that Gideon has married Eva and that is sufficient to halt her in her action of publishing the book and be happy that Gideon is now happy, or does she want to hurt Eva as well as Gideon, continue with publishing the book.  If the earlier theory that she has some involvement with Anne Lucas is correct, and we know Anne is not letting Gideon off lightly, there could be more fireworks to come.

  17. The second OWY excerpt is available. Go and read it if you haven't!

There's a small discussion of this on the One With You Teasers thread.

  18. Still happening for me today, thought I'd better keep on reporting this in case admin wonder why I keep asking for a password re-set, it is getting frustrating as it's not that easy to think of new passwords (five so far since yesterday morning).

And again today, 18th June.  I've cleared cookies and browsing history just in case that is affecting logging in but no difference (I am not having a problem with any of my other forums although none of them use the same software as this, and I am assuming that no-one else on here is having the same problem.

  19. They hold  Cinco de Mayo parties in New York so presumably the guys were out on the prowl and Gideon was able to take any pick up(s) back to the hotel.

I recall the author saying in a You Tube video that she does not map out the entire storyline for her series, whereas others have a skeleton story which they then flesh out.  It's probably easier to write if you know how the story is going to pan out.

    - - - - - - -

Anyone else having problems with their password on here - no problems up till today, I've had to request a new password every time I've  signed in, running out of password ideas as that's the fourth one I've done today.
