  1. Hi Jennpenn 926, I wonder whether Eva thought that her body was her own or whether her body was just a vessel to be with and used by men. From all accounts Eva had an extremely poor self esteem and she used sex in attempts to try and boost her self esteem and get men to like her (most especially Brett during the day...) but in the end Eva always felt used. She mentioned something to that effect in the first book during the club scene when she was in the process of deciding whether to entertain Gideon's suggestion of a se***l arrangement.  I think that Eva started setting limits or making terms about how she would engage in se* as a matter of self-preservation. I think that therapy also helped her to realise that her behaviours were affecting her negatively.
  2. Hi MrsCrossXxXxX, I think that Gideon freaked out in the limo because he enjoyed that type of se**** experience (I strongly suspect that was the first time that a woman had taken the lead during s**). I also think that Eva was the first woman that Gideon ever connected with him and I think that freaked him out as well.
  3. Hi KiMa, Thanks for taking the time to post the entire first chapter of the next book. It was very kind of you. Thanks again.
  4. Hi Bookworm, That is a great song! Anastasia wrote that song after her battle with breast cancer. The lyrics are really beautiful.
  5. Hi Kirsten, Thanks for taking the time to post this information. I am sure that it will be greatly appreicated by many people. Thanks again.
  6. Hi Kirsten, What motive would Vidal Sr. have for sexually abusing Gideon? My understanding is that sexual predators aren't able to sustain or maintain sexual function with anyone other than children (they become sexually aroused only with children). So how could Vidal Sr. have maintained a relationship with Elizabeth Vidal? What do you think?
  7.  Hi Julie, I have been reading all of the postings; not just yours. What has been coming across isn’t that Gideon would have just cut Corinne out of his life, but that he would have lead her on (promises or implications of romance and such), used her deliberately and then destroyed her  emotionally (all in a bid to have Eva back or to avenge the horrible wrong doing to Eva).  From my perspective and 42 years of life; that kind of reaction would be extreme to say the least. Yes, yes I know this is a novel and that many of us like to have fun and come up with our theories and such, but I get to a point where I don’t find that kind of “revenge†fun.  I think it is mean and petty and spiteful.  The entire purpose of rereading these chapters was for each and every single member to read said chapter, think about that chapter and how it may or may not relate to their lives (i.e. each person takes the information presented and applies that) and what each person’s thoughts are about that chapter. What has been happening thus far doesn’t even come close to what the main objective was supposed to be. I miss the days when a lot of members used to post and present their theories. C’est la vie. At the end of the day, this is just a book.Â
  8. Hi everyone, So many people have been asking where they can find a copy of the first chapter. For those who are computer savvy, would one of you ladies please be kind enough to post the link so that others can access the first chapter of Entwined In You too, please? Thanks in advance.Â
  9. Hi Sheens263, Welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy yourself.
  10. Hi everyone, I just wanted to quickly add, that to all those lovely individuals who took the time to answer my questions (some controversial and some not), I really appreciated it. You all helped me to understand your perspectives and where you would be coming from. Thank you all! I really appreciate it!
  11.   Hi Julie, I read your comments and I have to say that if Gideon and Eva’s relationship was so “fragile†that it couldn’t withstand a little interplay from a rival, then I submit that it isn’t the right relationship for these two. I know that must seem like a bold statement, but at the end of the day, being in a relationship is supposed to make a person better, not worse.  I have also been thinking about Gideon’s actions toward Eva and I have to say that they border on the obsessed. That isn’t healthy or normal, but instead of accepting responsibility for his actions Gideon seems to be passing the buck (again a controversial statement).    Everyone has been letting Gideon slide with his behaviour and I have to ask why? Is it just the s** or his good looks? Really, there has to be something more to this character…oh wait, he sat in his office/den, whatever and methodically and premeditatedly and coldly planned and executed the murder of another human being (admittedly a scumbag but still of the human variety). So now we can add murderer to the list.  I have also noticed that “justifiable homicide†has been bantered about as if Gideon’s actions could be somehow explained away, and again I don’t buy it. I would be so interested if we have any legal “eagles†in the forum to bring forth their knowledge and experiences with these types of cases (could we even have a judge or two in our illustrious panel of experts? Fingers crossed! )  Yes, yes I have heard that we the readers will be “taken to dark places†but I ask where is the light.   What is the upside to this story?   As far as the Corinne off the “Christmas Card†list, that is not what has been mentioned. It is a far cry for a man to say “listen I made a mistake and I don’t love you†but it is another thing entirely to go about purposely and falsely deceive someone who may be just as mentally unstable as these two. What benefit is it of Gideon’s to go about and destroy another human being when helped to created this entire mess? How do two wrongs make a right?  We are supposed to be talking about adults here and not kids. What has been described sounds more like “high school anticsâ€. Listen, had Eva and Corinne had a cat-fight, then fine. I could have bought that scenario. Had Eva even bi*** slapped Corinne because she lost it, then I could even buy that, but what has been proposed is a little bit much.  Now for the biggest challenge of all….Monica….Sigh!!! I swear I think I could almost write an essay about that woman’s wrong doings, but for now I will strictly go by what Sylvia has written and not suppositions. Eva told Gideon about her abuse and saw Stanton. Monica melodramatically accosted Eva (accusing and asking in a horrified manner) asking her why she told Gideon (of all people) about the abuse. That entire scenario played out like a soap-opera scene. Monica’s eyes were red while she was wringing her hands into the handkerchief…really?! NOT ONCE did Monica ever ask her daughter if she was ok with telling a significant other about her past. Not once did Monica ever ask her daughter how she felt about having to go down such a dark path. The entire scenario played out with all of the sympathy shifting squarely onto Monica. What the heck is that?! How is that love? As was mentioned in many other posts, Monica knew full well of Nathan’s presence in New York yet she said nothing. Why? Monica was never even forthcoming with having seen Nathan. Monica knew about the videotapes and photos (although it is unclear whether she saw them). Why wouldn’t she say something to her daughter then? Monica was aware that Nathan was trying to extort monies from Stanton (and perhaps Monica as well. It is unclear whether Monica knew that Gideon was being blackmailed as well). So why keep that information from Eva? Everyone keeps stating that Monica and Stanton may have been trying to protect Eva. Where is the protection in any of those actions? Someone show me one piece of concrete proof that these two and mainly Monica did anything to protect her daughter as an adult. Monica of all people would have known just how violent and hideous, a human being Nathan was. She would have seen photos from the anal and vaginal scarring when Eva was a girl. I am sure that the hospital or CPS would have shown her that evidence. So how did Monica’s silence and lack of information benefit Eva’s safety?  When given every single solitary opportunity to reveal information about what was going on during Nathan’s murder investigation; it was Eva who initiated the conversations and it was Eva who continued to dig and press Monica until she had nowhere to go but to start revealing information. How was Monica protecting her daughter then? Over the course of two books; Monica never once, NOT ONCE EVER acknowledged her part (mistakes) in Eva’s neglect and abuse. She never apologized once to Eva. If anything the reader is left listening to Eva apologize to her mother about one thing or another. Really? When does Monica plan on atoning for her sins? I am just curious… Will we ever get to see Monica apologize to her daughter about what a stinky mother she was and continues to be to Eva?
  12. Hi Fsumom, I wonder how Gideon would spin something like that with Corinne. I hope that we all get some answers on May 7th but somehow I think that nothing is really going to be answered until the last page of the last book. Thus far the books have only covered two to three week increments and it seems that nothing is going to come to conclusion until the last book. Now we wait…
  13. Hi Rcmcap, Disneyland! That is hilarious!!Â
  14. Hi Caroline, Your theory is as good as anyone else’s. Right now we are all in a holding pattern and as such we all have to wait until June 4th to see how close each of us has come to pinning the tail on this “donkeyâ€.Â
  15. Hi ShazScott1980, Could it be that Detective Graves loses her badge because of her reckless conduct during this investigation? That might be a nice refreshing change, for this lovely character….yuck! If I could figure out how to make an unhappy smiley face that is sticking its tongue out then I would include that with this posting.Â
  16. Hi MrsCrossfire, Could it be that our beloved Monica deserves a “kick in the pants†for her conduct thus far? Perhaps Victor should be the one to do it?
  17. Hi ShazScott1980, I hope we get to see more of Victor in the next book. I just wonder how it might come about. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?Â
  18. Hi Caroline, I think that’s where maybe some of the forum members may differ. I think that everyone had everyone else’s best interests at heart and not Eva’s. Oh yes everyone in the book kept trying to justify their actions and  kept stating that they did this or that or the other to “protect†Eva, but NO ONE EVER ONCE ASKED OR INCLUDED Eva in the DECISION MAKING PROCESS. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that you said this or that someone specifically had said it, it just seems to be a recurring theme in this book.  I was thinking about what everyone was saying about how Monica loves Eva and I started questioning whether Monica loves Eva or whether she just loves her reflection in Eva’s eyes. There is a big difference between the two. Other forum members have mentioned that Monica almost treats Eva like an accessory and I have to say that I agree.Â
  19. Hi ShazScott1980, Thanks for the information. When you are done with Gideon could you please send him to Canada so I can give him a stern talking to? Thanks (if I knew how to make one of those winky signs then I would have done that). Â
  20.   Hi Kirsten, Do you think that Monica is self-absorbed or could it be something more? What do you think? What does everyone think?
  21. Hi ShazScott1980, What part of the world do you call home?Â
  22. Hi Julie, Your posts haven't come across as harsh in the least. I am not even sure that word is even part of your vocabulary. Â
  23.    Hi Sscrph, It is so interesting that you say that. It is funny but mostly sad that Gideon’s desperate attempts at normalcy are often thwarted by his own actions. He wants a normal life, but he can’t seem to stop himself from acting out.  Instead of asking Eva to tell him about herself, he goes and digs (using illegal acts to get the information that he demands) instead of trusting and hoping that Eva will give him the information that he so desires (throughout the first parts of the book). Gideon has Eva followed, digs through her credit history, does whatever it takes to feel closer to a person who hasn’t yet allowed him into her space (emotionally and physically). That’s not normal. Does Gideon even know what normal is?
  24. Hi Donnad, I was thinking about what you said, and the more that I read and reread the passages with Monica and how she acted, I think that Monica loves how she looks through her daughter’s eyes. I am sincerely not so sure that she loves Eva the way that a mother is supposed to love her child.  Am I making sense? Do you know what I mean?Â
  25. Hi Sscrph, I was wondering about what you said. Had Eva not miscarried or gotten pregnant, how long do you think that the abuse would have gone on for? How much longer would Monica have been in the dark?
