I was watching Good Will Hunting the other night...and there's the scene w/ Will (Matt Damon) and Sean (Robin Williams -for those of you who haven't seen it) ....It's when Sean is giving Will that huge speech about being a coward and how he doesn't know him like he thinks he does...But there was one part that stood out and Crossfire (surprise!) popped in my head!

I was a huge scene, I just cut out the part that made me think of Gid/Eva...sigh.....

I forgot how great that movie is!

I know it's frustrating not being able to preorder, but it's impossible to compare the handling of Crossfire to any other romance series. It's a massive undertaking releasing a book with the level of demand Crossfire has, not just for the publisher, printer, distributors, and vendors but also for me. We're all doing the best we can and I can assure you, the publisher is eager to get the book out as soon as possible. Crossfire is presently one of the biggest series in the world. They don't want to sit on it any longer than they absolutely have to.

There's good reason it's the biggest series in the world.....It's AWESOME!!! Re-read Bared to You the other night....love how it all started

I'm very sorry to say that the release date for AFTERSHOCK has been moved out into 2014. At this time, I don't know which month or day. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from the publisher.

 

SPELLBOUND is locked into a December 3 release date and won't be moving.

 

I know how frustrating this is, believe me. This is why I've insisted that no release date be announced for CAPTIVATED BY YOU until it's set in stone.

Oh wow that is really frustrating I've had it pre-ordered since June. I was really looking forward to reading something new by you to hold me over 'til CBY. I know I shouldn't complain because it's got to me waaaaaaaaay more frustrating for you tho! I'm sure it's done and ready to go on your end.

Regarding Gideon sending Corinne mixed messages

If a man tells you while you are still in Europe with your husband that he has met someone and it is the first time in 5 or 6 years that he has said that and he walks out on you after you flew across the pond to see him to follow her when she leaves him and he will not be intimate with you even though he had been in the past and he tells you there is no future with him for you and he won't return your phone calls and he will not kiss you and he calls your husband to come for you then regardless of a few dinners, his message is very clear. He is just not into you and you should take the hint.

 I don't believe it was revealed that Anne was Corrine's shrink. We are all speculating here...and I don't blame anyone...we are all trying to be patient & remain sane ourselves waiting for the darn book to be released.

I really hope she isn't involved w/ that.

 

Gideon was blameless about his father's death, but children blame themselves for things like that, and the damage imprints on a child's soul. Gideon was blameless for being sexually abused as a child, but child victims blame themselves, and the damage imprints on a child's soul. Especially in his case, because Hugh, trained in child psychology, was convincing the child Gideon he "wanted it."

 

As a grown man, Gideon deliberately threatened Hugh with ruin, but Gideon never meant to cause Hugh to kill himself, and Gideon carries guilt about the death. As a grown man, Gideon deliberately used Anne for revenge, but he carries guilt about it -- carries even more guilt now that Gideon knows what it is like to truly love a woman. He believes Terry Lucas loves Anne the way Gideon loves Eva. And all along, Gideon has felt guilty about Corrine, and Corrine has been playing on his guilt. Eva saw that immediately, and that was when Gideon had no reason to feel guilty about the broken engagement. But now Gideon knows how devastating it is to love and then to face the fear of losing that loved one.

 

Look at how much damage was done to Gideon as a child by Hugh, who played Gideon's guilt like a fiddle. Think about the danger Anne could pose, if she is as sick as her brother and also is an mental health professional who could use guilt to damage Gideon.

 

I wonder if Lucas ever told Anne what Hugh did. Maybe in one of those 'How could you been with him?? He killed your brother!!'. Something like that. Or maybe not, b/c Lucas would have to know about Gideon's threat. Ugh, Lucas covering for him is just sickening.

Mind you, Gideon should not blame himself for Hugh's death. Hugh was a monster, and when Gideon threatened him with ruin, Gideon was doing so to stop Hugh from victimizing any more children. Hugh was 100% responsible for his crimes, and he chose the coward's way out. For that matter, Gideon's father was 100% responsible for his crimes, and his father also chose the coward's way out.

 

Anne was not a helpless victim getting used. She threw herself at Gideon, and she was married to boot to a man who loved her. Corrine was not a helpless victim, not years ago and not this past summer. Years ago, from day one Corrine was the one chasing Gideon and pushing him for more, and she was the one who broke the engagement, then married someone else. In the recent past, she ended her marriage to a man who loved her specifically to throw herself at Gideon. What's worse, she knew Gideon was in love with Eva, and Corrine did everything in her power to try to destroy that love.

So true. He blames himself for too much. I don't like Anne at all. She's got a screw loose lol.

I've been having trouble too, getting the same message. I've pasted the pic to my Word , then copied it from there and selected the Word option on the toolbar here. I've also used the Photo icon that's on the toolbar under the smiley face. Doesn't work every time though. Good luck! That sounds funny

OK, I'm new, so bear with me. I want to throw out theories Deena might be one of the " .... bitter enemies out of the shadows ..." hinted at on the back cover of Captivated By You, the enemies lured out into the open by Gideon's love for Eva. Unlike other "brunette threats" that tried to end the relationship, Deena doesn't love Gideon, so "winning" isn't getting Gideon - it's getting even.

 

She was bent on revenge even though she's still hot for him. I think she hates him for treating her like a w h o r e (her word) during their one night stand at the f-pad. We don't know how long ago the one night stand happened, only that it must have happened before early June, when he met Eva.

 

In June, he made sure everyone knew Eva was his serious girlfriend. Deanna thought he did it just to make Corrine jealous. In July, he and his ex-fiancée were "back together." Is that what finally set Deanna off by mid-summer, the thought of him getting married? So Deanna hatched a revenge plot to paint Gideon as a violent abuser?

 

In early August, Deena ambushed Eva, and we know all the awful things Deena said. Though we don't know what Deena said to Magdalene, we know Deena went after that "ex" too. Deanna had no way of knowing Magdalene and Gideon were strictly platonic - she probably thought Magdalene had been a full-fledged girlfriend he cheated on all the time and then dumped for Eva. We also know Deena went after Corrine, showing Corrine pictures from Times Square proving Gideon was reconnecting with Eva.

 

By the end of Entwined With You, Gideon got lulled into a sense of security about Deena. He believed Deena accepted his apology. He felt she did him a favor by warning him about the sex tape, but I think the real reason she told him was to try to get him to reject Eva. Finally, when he told Deanna he was going to marry Eva, he thought he'd neutralized Deena with the promise of money Deena could make with exclusive access to his wedding pictures.

 

He thinks he's got Deanna under control. Does he? Or is Deanna still plotting and soon is going to go nuts when she finds out Gideon already secretly married Eva? Maybe Deanna would get so mad the money won't matter anymore. Revenge would be to hurt Gideon by tabloid stories his socialite wife used to be a Brett Kline groupie. Even though Gideon made sure the actual video footage itself never gets out, the fact remains it exists, and Deanna is among the people who knows it.

 

So is Deanna now plotting revenge by reporting about the sex tape herself or leaking the story to some sleazy journalists she knows? In Bared To You, Gideon said he would destroy any reporter who hurt Eva. Would he destroy Deena? Or would "new Gideon" changed for the better by Eva's love rise above it?

I like your thinking. I was wondering how Deanna got the info on Gideon regarding the fight at Eva's place w/the Cary's 'buddy'. we know it probably would've been easy to find out about the fight w/ Brett b/c so many witnesses. She is sneaky. How did she get the info on the tape before Gideon? Who does she know? Maybe Christopher? I'm sure he knew somehow?

I hope doesn't go nuts, but recedes quietly after what I'm sure will be a big payday w/ the wedding pics etc.

But if she doesn't go away quietly, I'd like to see how Gideon will take her down lol.

I think there's some confusion. This isn't a book, it's a name badge and lanyard from a convention I attended (you can see the silver hook that connects the neck rope at the top of the image). This is just a simple, "Have a nice weekend!" image, with no hidden meaning or tease about it.

... Ok in re playing CBY(audio book) for the 50th X :0).. There is something that I don't get.. In chapter 6 when Eva and Monica are at lunch.. Eva says.. ( to herself) ... She(Monica) had been an Ali in convincing Victor of Gideon's affection for her(Eva).. I was so wrapped up in the story I never really grabbed on to that.... Did I miss something? I thought Monica made sure that as soon as Eva was old enough to communicate with Victor on her own she had had NO contact???

Hmm.....idk about this. I don't remember reading that Monica and Victor communicated recently, except for the incident at Eva's place.

 

I have always felt Deanna is a major problem. ###### hath no fury....... She is angry and smart. Bad combo. She is out for revenge. Why, I don't get. As I said a while ago, we all have had a one night stand go bad. There is something else we don't know. Gideon didn't get his billions by being a sucker so I think he knows what he's doing. He messes up with Eva cause of emotions. But I don't remember him messing up with others.

Ugh...Idk why she's so obsessed too. Like l said before, what did she expect going home with someone who had only 'spoken a few words' to before they left.?  I think there might be more to the story too....although I'd like to think that Gideon was honest w/ Eva.

I believe Deanna is not as controlled as Gideon thinks, but if she dares to hurt Eva making public something big, take for granted Gideon will destroy her... and she knows -because she's smart enough- she'll never win a war like that. BTW, the only place I want to see Deanna is giving Gia information about Jax and his relatives (Afterburn/Aftershock), not messing around here.

 

I think the bitter enemy out of shadows is Corinne. Inestable, bringing back Geoffrey's suicide with her attempt, and in a too good relation with Lizzie.

Yes! No more Deanna! Only in Afterburn/Aftershock ( can't wait, couple more weeks)...hopefully she really is nice.

Corrine is def off the charts right now. Lets hope  she'll see the light and go back to France asap.

I think that may be an initial reaction, but Cary is observant and I bet he will have noticed or will notice the positive changes in the relationship and interactions between Gideon and Eva. Also Cary has said he will support Eva's choices as long as she is happy.

Plus Cary l-o-v-e-s to be in on a secret, especially with his best friend

 

Anyone else think that Gideon and Cary spoke before Eva told him they were back together? Gideon had been going in and out of the apartment, lived right next door...Cary could've seen him one time? I just say that b/c I think Cary was pretty laid back about not knowing who Eva was with (even though he did).

Yeah I don't think she's pregnant either. That'll be waaaay left field for Sylvia to go and we have enough drama with the main two characters to deal with that. There are only two books left, that's not enough to deal with Monica cheating and bringing a baby into the mess.
