Thanks for this Gigi! couple of corrections....I'm going to try and edit it w/in your type

  3. Ok, I've decided that I want book four to come out ASAP (duh) and in book four I'd like Deanna, Brett, Tat, Corrine & Giroux to go away....away-away... Let Gideon heal w/ his mother and Christopher, Victor to find someone new who will love him and take care of him, Monica to lay off Eva,( just help plan the beautiful wedding in record time), have nothing be wrong w/ Megumi, Cary take control of his life. The s e x tape to go away. The bracelet to be planted by Clancy and murder case closed.

Then, book 5 will just be our two love birds in newlywed bliss, enjoying each other and making beautiful happy memories.Traveling. Maybe Eva works for/with Gideon...w/ Mark like some of you have suggested...

Ok....just a few of my random suggestions. Just can't wait for this next book, and hopefully A LOT of answers and problems solved.

What does everyone else want to happen?

  4. I agree Jen. At the end of the day, Deanna was easy! Simple! Sorry the truth hurts lady!

Yes he was a d I c k , but she gave it to him on a plate! Get over it!

True true....she's just gotta get over it! She'll probably try to latch on to Christopher next....

I can understand why she's upset but i do think she is taking it too far. You shouldn't go back to a man's hotel room for a one night stand and expect to be treated with respect. The way he acted was wrong but i still think she is overreacting given the situation.

    Exactly!

I don't know if you have read my other posts about my situation but sometimes parents don't see what is right in front of their faces because of how the child acts. Like I said before I was a naturally shy person so when I began to withdraw my mother didn't notice because it was already a part of my personality to be to myself. Yes Monica feels deep guilt for not noticing and she does over compensate. But I think she should cut herself some slack cuz when she did find out she did everything in her power to right that wrong. My mother didn't find out til ten years after the fact and my father still doesn't know and would like to keep it that way.

Sorry to hear that Angelmine, you're right. Everyone is different, and I'm sure Eva tried her hardest to hide the abuse from her mom. I just don't know what Nathan could hold over her at a young age that would keep her from telling. It's sad. Especially that it went unnoticed for so long.

  5. Hi Nathalia

Deanna : I think she should have known herself better ,I don't think you just pick up a guy for a one night stand and then catch feelings when he doesn't treat you the way you expect .You don't know the first thing about this guy so you can't expect anything and I don't think she should have put herself out there in this way if she knows she's sensitive.Without a doubt Gideon was horrible to her and no one should be treated in such a manner but they were both adults no promises were made and she should really move on .Why waste the time with the personal vandetta

Monica:It also puzzles me that Monica didn't know what was going on for four years .Its almost as if she wasn't intimately involved with Eva on an emotional /physical manner .The best I can think of is that she was young ,without support and found herself with a child and in her desperate scramble to build and maintain a life for herself and her child she didn't pay attention as a normal parent might have .I think she got it too late and because of that she overcompensates .

Yes, she should really move on. I guess she thinks w. her job, she could use it to get back at him. But, it's not like he's spreading the word that they were together, he's not further embarrassing her. I feel like she's doing that to herself.

Monica,  I just want to know her story....what was she doing the whole time!? her husband wasn't even around too much. Someone had said something about her being involved/realted to the Russian mob....Idk...do they present their daughters to society as debutantes too? :)

    Hi everyone,

I think what surprises me most about Deanna's vendetta against Gideon is that we can be sure when he picked her up that this was very much a one night thing. Based on how he initially tried to pick up Eva, he does not pretend that his pick ups are anything more than a short term arrangement so I highly doubt his approach to Deanna was much different.

Don't get me wrong, the way he treated her at the end was disgusting and I can totally understand why she's upset about that, but I don't think she was going in with false expectations that this was going to turn into a relationship. And if she was that's her own fault for not listening to what Gideon was saying.

Do you agree? Disagree? What do you think?

Right, I agree. It was horrible the way he treated her. He did say he didn't think he speak more than a doz words to her the whole night, and she still left w/ him. Idk, drama drama drama.

  6. I  haven't seen the THG movie, is it as angsty as the book is?

I thought it was pretty good. From what I remember, it was pretty true to the book... (I think, it's been a while :) )

I've just read Release me and Claim me by J.Kenner. Read the first yest and the 2nd one today!!

I really enjoyed it, no where near as good as Gidevas story but it was still good!!

Darn! I really want to get these but I don't want to pay $10 per book...only for the Crossfire series do I do that! lol..well, and for Gone Girl and Casual Vacancy $13 ea

    Hi Nathalia,

thank you for quick answer! Well, here is it not for sale! In Germany I do mean.

    Well, I will see ... I will wait a little while ..

No, I am so hooked with fanfiction ..

    Greetings

      :) sme

No problem :)  I haven't read any fanfiction....I may have to check it out

  7. Hey Ladies,

Did anyone else want more details on their beach wedding? Like how Gideon gave Eva the ring? Did she see it for the first time when he put it on her finger? Or after  he said 'marry me' on the chaise after pulling her from the water? I'm sure we're going to get  to read all the vows from their next wedding, but , idk...I kinda wanted more. Greedy, I know. I think that Gideon will design her wedding band...maybe inscribe something sweet inside.

    I reread EWY last night...lol...sooo...got some thoughts/questions.

Deanna really really annoys me. I mean, it was a one night stand...how hurt could you be? What was she expecting?

I hope the Megumi thing is just her being sick and lazy to respond...Eva doesn't need more drama.

I've said this before, but I think that Monica should feel extremely guilty for what happened to Eva. Four years is a LONG time....I mean, maybe the abuse only occurred when Monica and Barker were out, events, trips etc...but still...Like Eva said, the staff -hate them too- had to have known...so how could your own mother not catch on?!?!

Oh! That's the other thing! re where Eva grew up...I thought it was it was in Cali the whole time, only moving to SD in college to be by Victor...but in rereading last night, the part I noticed is when Victor called Eva after finding out  and said 'how could she not have known something was wrong? I knew when you came to California!' (something like that)....so where was Eva living?I guess wherever Monica's husbands were .

I hope Tatiana isn't preg either...Btw, I just realized, in reading these posts, why I was so confused w/ the whole Tatiana naked scene.  I thought that it was Tatiana walking INTO the kitchen when Eva stopped her ( idk what I was thinking )...but it was her walking BACK to the bedroom w/ two bottles of water...Duh :rolleyes_anim: ...I really want to know if she and Gideon had a conversation lol...or did he just turn around and make his coffee??

    Ok...that's all I can remember now ...

I can't believe we have to wait another month to get snippets/snapshots :(  again, greedy....

Maybe not a Sept release then? Boo :(

  8.  Hello Nathalia,

I do enjoy your long list. We do have there a few in common.

Yes, tangled is on my list because of male POV! Read already some excerpts .... I haven´t decided yet.

The Edge of Never is on my list as one of the next books to read but I am really a little afraid to read them ... because of the deep emotional rollercoaster a few people hinted .. What do you think? Maybe waiting for the second book?

Yeah, the hunger games, I´ve read, too. But it is hard stuff. Even if it is only fiction.

    sme

Hi SME....The Edge of Never was emotional, but a good read. The second book continues their story, but the first one doesn't leave you w/ a cliffhanger.

I got it b/c of it's good reviews, plus it was on sale for $.99 ! So worth it! :)

    Hi Nathalia

I'm so happy we have a few good reads in common!!! :D

Seven Years to Sin by Sylvia Day. Need I say anything? I love love and love it!!!

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I love the story so much, and the structure of the novel, too. Young Jacob learned how to be a man the hard way, but carved himself a happy life, and Old Jacob finds a wonderful, lovely way to end 'his' novel. I wouldn't have seen it coming, ever!!!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Well, this is supposed to be children's stuff but WHAT issues the novel tackles with!!!! and I loved the way SC avoided being obvious.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I liked it, but it's so sad a book I don't think I'll ever reread it.

I'll have a look to my bookshelves and see if I can find anything interesting.

I know Gabri....I didn't want to reread The Kite Runner either...Hosseini has a new book out now that I'll probably read.

Water for Elephants and The Hunger Games series I re read b/c they were so good. I got a bit teary reading those too.

I just noticed those three were made into movies....Saw WfE ( I liked it) and THG...but I couldn't watch TKR...that would've been too much for me.

OH! I forgot to add Casual Vacancy to the non-romance list...It's the first I've read from JK Rowling (never read harry Potter...I know...I know). That was great too...pretty emotional .

  9. Ok...Here's my list of books that I've enjoyed since starting this genre of books (Romance, contemporary etc)

Seven Years to Sin by Sylvia Day ( :) )

Beauty from Pain (cliffhanger) by Georgia Cates

    Beauty from Surrender

Beauty from ____ TBR idk when...she's just decided to write it, so book 2 end nicely w/o a cliffhanger

Georgia is very vocal w/ her fans on FB like SD...super friendly and asks for a lot of input

    She's also written YA books

    Going Under & Shallow

    Collide (cliffhanger) by Gail McHugh

Pulse due Aug 10 the final book in series

On Dublin Street (LOVED!) by Samantha Young

Until Fountain Bridge follows two characters from ODS

Down London Rd (haven't read yet) follows a character from ODS

I believe she's got another book coming out from this series

    Tangled by Emma Chase

    This was so funny...male POV

    Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

This was HYSTERICAL! I loved this book and LOL'd the whole time.

    Beautiful ######

    Beautiful Stranger by Christina Lauren

    These two were good

The Edge of Never (Cried like a baby....sooo good!)

The Edge of Always tbr Nov by J.A Redmerski

    Lost to You

    Take this Regret  A.L. Jackson

    Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

    Losing Hope TBR in July

    Not in the romance dept:

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn...whoa..what a book! I literally screamed at my iPad at the end...my husband was like 'wtf??' lol :)

I also read her other two books...she's such a great writer..I was stunned at the end of both..well all three

    Dark Places

Sharp Objects (very disturbing to me)

    The Help  Kathryn Stockett

    Water for Elephants Sara Gruen

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

    The Kite Runner

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

    anything by Mitch Albom

Ok...that's my List! I've read a bunch more but only lised the ones i'd rec :)

I'm waiting for the price to drop on the Stark and Blackstone series so I could buy and read those...they look good and I know you ladies have rec'd them.

  10. Hey ladies , I've had the Blackstone series in my wish list waiting for price drop. So far got the third one for $2.99. I just sampled Claim Me by K. Jenner and now I'm interested in that lol. But that's another incomplete series !

FSOG was also my first in these type of books, Crossfire next (so much better, and hard to top !). Loved On Dublin St too :)

    Great pics btw :)

  11. A few thoughts here;

Do we think that Gideon is telling Dr. Peterson about his abuse? We know he's told him about his nightmares b/c he's gotten medication for it, but ....seeing as he really doesn't trust doctors and is so tight lipped w/ Eva, could he just be skirtting the issue? He's gotta be telling him right?  Idk, I was just thinking about this.

I really hope Anne Lucas isn't involved w/ the Vidals at all. That would be so creepy and scary and just gross.

I too wonder why Eva is so reluctant to tell anyone about their 'engagement'. I mean, Gideon had to tell her coworkers. I'm confused about the not telling Monica either when she had a chance. I'm sure she must've though before they got to the event. There's no way she missed the ring.

I hope the trip to SD will be good....for everone. A visit w/ Dr. Travis and Victor and hopefully no Brett...or maybe a nice break w/ Brett.

Ok...that's all for now. Off to enjoy this beautiful Sunday before the rain :)

  12. I hope Gideongoes to San Diego.  I think that it could be beneficial for all parties.  Gideon would get to spend time with Victor and Eva separately and together.  Gideon might also get some more time to establish a father/son-in-law relationship which can only be beneficial for Gideon (since he is sorely lacking a positive father-figure role).  Gideon could also support Eva in her dealings with Cary and Cary needs a lot of support as well.  I think that many bonds may be formed over this trip.  What do you think?

Love this! Hope the Brett situation is dealt w/ in SD. and I'd love it if Gideon and VIctor hang out too...Get to know each other more.

  13. Am I delusional to think CBY can come out between her other books in September ? I mean , if its finished and her publisher got enough backlash, wouldn't they want to make the readers happy and release ASAP?. Hopefully? :)

Can't wait for snippets ....bring on the torcher(sp?) ....why do I not know how to spell that word lol ?

You ladies are so much fun to read!

Corinne needs to be gone ASAP ...same for Deanna ...and Brett ....can we not just have healing w our couple and a beautiful , drama free wedding ? I'm so excited for it ! I imagine Eva in a fitted lace gown w a dramatic train/veil. Sigh....can't wait !

  14. I agree, Nrock. We also need to remember that the video is a visualisation of the Golden lyrics. Eva never expressed to Brett or anyone that she was unhappy with the song Golden or how it portrayed her. And while I get the difference - an idea or a suggestion in a lyric compared to having it acted out for the world to see.

It probably never even occurred to Brett that she wouldn't like the video. Was that nieve of him, yes but I don't think he made the video to hurt Eva, he was trying to remind her of the 'good times' same as the song was supposed to do. When he released Golden he was trying to get her back, even though he had no clue where she was or what she was doing. He was hoping she'd hear the song and turn up at a concert or get in touch. I think the video was just another extension of that.

Brett doesnt understand that Eva is ashamed of her past both with him and in general. And why should he? He's not ashamed of any of it. And Eva has never told him anything to make him think she might be.

I'm not sure Brett would be clued into how embarrassed and humiliated Eva would have been about the music video. For people in the entertainment business, publicity is life blood. They thrive on it and need it and it keeps them in the public eye. Also, from what I see happening in the world of Facebook (though I don't belong) and Instagram and all the other media sharing platforms, many people of Eva and Brett's generation feel differently about sharing intimate details about their lives. After all, what Brett knew about Eva wasn't much besides she was fun, convenient, and a great f*ck. He didn't know her or her trauma or her new life style. He may have been, and was, clueless about what her reaction would be. Poor dumb cluck may have been thinking she'd be pleased because he was publicly declaring his love and muse.

Please don't think I'm saying that everyone on Facebook is like that, just that I think there is a different mind set for every generation. Sometimes I can't believe it when my daughter has shown me examples of what some people post!

The real sex tape is another thing, however. I don't imagine Yinara ((sp?) would have showed it to him or that Brett would think it was ok. Yimara is probably just trying to make a quick buck by capitalizing on the Eva video. Sure it probably wouldn't have bothered Brett personally, but I don't think he'd be stupid enough not to understand how most girls would react. After all, he's trying hard to get back in her life.

Totally agree w/ both of these...100%!  Do we really think that Brett didn't know about the video though? That Sam never told him? It's been been years that he's had it. Was just waiting for 6/9ths to make it big before releasing it? Or maybe he never thought of releasing it until now..Eva was just one of Bretts groupies that he prob got on film, so no biggie...until now?

And yes...Benjamin Bratt is who i've been thinking of too! Perfect!

  15. Thoughts on chapter 17

Re-reading chapter 17 really bothered me. I've tended to skim over it in re-reads because the whole video thing really upset me, but I just re-read more carefully. Of course I'm on Team Eva and have explained and justified a lot of her very questionable behavior, but I have to say she really crosses a line here in her dealings with Brett. After seeing that video she should have excused herself from dinner if it bothered her that much, and it should have. Why should she be worried about hurting his feelings and saying she was freaked out and embarrassed by the video? And it's very strange to me that if she wanted Arnoldo to think better of her, she would have gone there. There were other places Gideon could have had a eye kept on her.

She definitely didn't need to invite Brett up - there was a natural break when she arrived back in the taxi. She could easily have ended things politely right then. And she definitely sent Brett very mixed messages in the apartment. IMO she was not far off from being what guys call a pric*teaser if you really examine the things she says as well as her physical cues. All in all I think Brett's behavior there was pretty polite and gentlemanly. Eva - not so much.
