  1. I'm not sure telling Corinne that he is already married will make much difference to her. She has already proven her apathy with regard to the vows as she left her husband to persue Gideon again. Also she seems the vindictive type. Gideon was trying to stop her from releasing her tell-all book. Seems to me that informing her that he is married may cause her to be more rash and hurtful in the book than she originally intended!

The original intentions of the book were to show how happy Gideon & Corrine once were in an effort to win him back. If she were to find out he was married before publication, she might do a few re-writes to make Gideon look worse or to make Eva hurt more!

She knows with the book that Gideon will have to read it to know if she is slandering him in any way, and peoples points of view are very subjective so I'm sure she can tell the same story but spin it the way she wants, without lying!

Something to consider as a possible reason for Gideon continuing to hide his marriage from Corinne...

That may be true Rogue but I think it makes Corinne look desperate if she still releases her book if the marriage is announced... people will be more interested in the secret nuptials than reading about a socialite's sour grapes... What would be the point in someone buying her book if Gideon is married to someone else?? The whole book thing just makes Corinne look incredibly pathetic. If she is thinking about landing another mogul( not Gideon) to secure her future this is a big mistake. Any potential billionaire suitor would be thinking twice before getting involved with her due to her vindictive nature...

  2. Okay, far-fetched I know, but suppose Dr Petersen's advice has been no sex till (second) wedding night! Then we will have a lot of frustration during the platonic phase and a significant wedding night.

Who am I kidding? That won't work!

Well they did have approximately 3 weeks of abstinence in RIY and they survived!! Im sure it will be hard and they will be cranky but Gideva can do it!!! LOL. :) ;)

  3. The loose ends may also involve getting Gideon possibly reconciling with his mother, or at the least getting an apology from her for disbelieving him.Hope you are right that the wedding gets brought forward, I did wonder if her staying out of his bed was to continue until they were 'officially' married so she would want it as quickly as possible. As it is to be on their property there's not a lot to prevent it being sooner and Gideon has said he is happy to have more weddings to Eva so Monica could be appeased by organising something bigger for a later date. We need to hear their vows this time as well.

Judging from the timeline, it is possible the wedding may take place on Gideon's birthday if it is near the end of September. Eva may give Gideon the gift of her working at Cross Industries side by side with him as a wedding gift...then the reception can be held around Christmas with Monica being pacified because she can go with her creme and gold decorating scheme and Eva can have her red rose accents thrown in...Merry Christmas to all especially Gideva!!! LOL!!

  4. An Eva line from the excerpt: “I’ve got a wedding to plan.†And some loose ends to tie up. But we’d get to those later.

Loose ends being her mother's grand plans? Is Eva thinking of finally pushing back against her mother, for once and for all quit coddling Monica? Eva's quit enabling Gideon's efforts to deny his past. She just quit her job on her own terms. So I can see Eva pushing up the timeline of the (second) wedding. Is Eva about to have another mother-daughter session with Dr. Petersen? About to tell Monica the truth she's already married and has decided she does not want to go through some elaborate public charade?

Yes Lighthouse, I would love for Eva to tell "Mommyca" she's already married and for that matter why not tell Corinne too!!

  5. I saw on Sylvia's FB page that CBY isn't being released in Portugal until March 1st. Hopefully the OWY date won't be too much longer.

I want Eva to embrace being Mrs. Cross and use her new platform to bring light to issues and work for the charity to help others. I'm excited to see what Gideon's birthday will bring. Probably a lot of drama. I don't see Corrine just sitting back and doing nothing knowing it's his birthday.

I seriously cannot tolerate much more of Corinne in these books...It is so frustrating...SHE NEEDS TO GO!!!

  6.

I know this is the next movie I'm going to see. It's called "The Longest Ride" by Nicholas Sparks and it looks excellent. Plus, Scott Eastwood plays Luke and he is just beautiful.

The song is Waiting Game by Banks and I also love that song ;).

I think Scott Eastwood would make an amazing Gideon...

  7. I thought the same thing, Georgette, that GidEva finally are taking the advice Dr. Petersen gave them way back in RIY during their first couples counseling session: some abstinence. When he first suggested it, the reason was all GidEva's interactions led to sex, including their fights, and they weren't resolving their fights. Since then, the good doctor has figured out there are some sex-related problems far deeper than them trying to settle fights by f ing.

"Staying out of his bed was going to kill me, but it had to be done." That's what's in Eva's mind in the excerpt. I think they're fighting to create a future where they can share a bed. Gideon has to reach a point where he's not terrified he'll mentally traumatize Eva during one of his violent nightmares. That means therapy has to work. And for couples therapy to work, they have to learn how to resolve their fights outside of bed.

I think he is finally no longer afraid he'll physically harm Eva. Thanks to Krav Maga, she's not physically helpless against someone violent: she's got the self-defense skills to fend someone off, even a strong man like Gideon.

I enjoy the recurring fan fantasy here about Eva finally going all Krav Maga on someone, with Corrine being top of the list. But I honestly don't see Eva using her fight skills offensively to beat someone up. She definitely can use them defensively. If she's under physical attack, then sure, kick the living you know what out of her assailant. Anne Lucas might be a candidate there. She comes across evil enough to resort to violence.

This is not to say I wouldn't immensely enjoy an Eva-Corrine cat fight. But what I'd relish would be Eva grabbing hold of that waist-length curtain of Corrine's hair, her crowning glory, and give it a hard pull.

Maybe a hard pull of that "waist-length curtain would jerk that bi@@@ back to reality and on a plane back to France LOL!! :)

  8. The more I think of it maybe Gideon is considering leaking some photos of Gideva's secret wedding. This would accomplish 2 things: giving Corinne a dose of reality AND showing the world and all his crazy exes that this is the REAL thing and he is really off the market. If Corinne would decide to go ahead with her book after that ; it really makes her look like a pathetic, desperate socialite and who would want to buy a book with photos of Corinne and Gideon when they have juicy wedding photos of Gideva. Even Eva mentions this in the excerpt so I think there is a real possibility of this happening.

  9. Corrine bears a physical resemblance to Gideon's mother, especially in their coloring, but I don't think Magdalene does, because Maggie and Corrine are different races. Maggie is Latina, and Corrine is Caucasian (as is Gideon's mother). If anything, Maggie has more in common with Eva, who is half Latina and half Caucasian. Eva's physical appearance blends both races. The most striking thing about Corrine's looks is her beautiful hair, which she wears waist length flowing down her back. Maggie used to wear her dark hair waist length because she hoped Gideon would like it. Good for Maggie finally figuring out the hair style didn't work, and so she gave up the long hair when she gave up on Gideon.

    Yes many on the forum have wondered if Elizabeth was already seeing Anne professionally and recommended her therapist to Corinne;

This makes Elizabeth even more of a parhetic character...If this actually is true; what will she do if she ever finds out that her son's abuser was her therapist's brother...Padded cell here I come!!!

  10. That makes total sense! Magdalene used to imitate Corrine, hoping that doing so would make her more attractive to Gideon. Now Corrine's trying the same pathetic thing.

If Corrine cuts off her waist-length black hair, dyes it blonde and gets a boob job, it'll prove once and for all to the entire world she's nuts.

Seriously, though, the first time I read the excerpt I wanted to scream at Gideon. W - T - F was he even doing meeting with Corrine yet again!!! Then I thought it through some more, and I realized why he did it. That scheming bee-yotch finally has got his attention, because she is trying to hurt Eva. We readers saw the lengths Gideon went through to stop that sex tape from getting out and hurting Eva. I think he's just as determined to fight nasty to stop Corrine from publishing the book.

Add to my fantasies of Eva going all Krav Maga on Corrine a fantasy of Gideon going after Corrine with Arash alongside him. A no-holds-barred legal showdown. And afterward, Arash kicking back with Arnoldo and telling him about the real Corrine behind the mask. Of course, there's a lot Arash could not say (client-attorney privilege). But what he could say to Arnoldo and the other guys is bad enough.

I think there's one sure-fire way to stop Corrine, and I hope it happens in OWY. Gideon tells Corrine he's already married Eva. Shows Corrine pictures of the wedding on the beach. Has the exact same sort of showdown with her that he did with Brett. Corrine wants to end the GidEva engagement. Well, Gideon can tell her the engagement is already over - because he's married.

Totally agree with this Lighthouse; I sincerely hope Gideon is playing Corinne...she deserves the full on global magnate Gideon Cross at his scheming best... Yes that is a big mistake on Corinne's part ; trying to hurt Eva; so that makes me feel better that Gideon is civil to her. After all, Gideon did tell her at their last meeting at Tableau One that she would be sorry and I don't think Gideon makes idle threats. I would love Eva to be the one to tell that Bi@@@ that they are married then Corinne can try to strangle Eva and then Eva would have no choice but to give her a taste of the Krav Maga... Well deserved...after 4 books I've seen and heard enough about Corinne and I hope Eva sends her packing early in OWY. :). :)

  11. "She wore a red strapless dress, showing off skin that was like rich pale cream," is something that jumped out at me in the excerpt. RED dress. Corrine also wore a red dress to Tableau One when Gideon met with her about the book. CBY describes " ... plunging neckline of her red dress." So I wonder -- did Corrine wear a lot of red years ago when she was with Gideon, and many of these pictures she has of them as a couple shows it? Is she trying to remind Gideon of that by wearing sexy red dresses now?

The first time Corrine "saw" Eva almost certainly would have been in photos on tabloid websites of the first time Gideon and Eva appeared in public as a couple. Which was walking into the Advocacy Center event. Eva was wearing a sexy red gown.

The color red has very special meaning for Gideon and Eva. What if Corrine succeeds in making Eva paranoid that Gideon's preference for red is just like Gideon's preference for brunettes? Tries to ruin for Eva the specialness of red. Eva thinks Gideon's past pattern of attraction to brunettes is because of Corrine. Before Eva, the only non-brunette she knows for certain Gideon slept with had red hair.

Eva doesn't know the true, dark secret that Hugh calculatedly instilled into Gideon a sexual fetish involving women with the same coloring as his (Gideon's) mother. And a twisted reason Gideon managed to get it up for Anne was because of her physical resemblance to Hugh, that Gideon was punishing Hugh symbolically by being depraved, not respectful, with Anne.

Of course it's possible that red dresses have nothing to do with Corrine and Gideon's past. Corrine has started wearing them when she plans to see Gideon as part of another deluded attempt to try to make herself attractive to Gideon. Her more sedate/refined dressing had not worked. It's only since this book thing has come up that twice now we readers have seen Corrine in red dresses.

I don't think Corinne's choice of red dresses is that hard to figure out... She is taking a page out of Magdalene's playbook and trying to imitate Eva's persona. You are right; Corinne certainly did see those photos of Gideon and Eva the night she wore the red dress and the passionate encounter in Bryant Park . That's what had her hightailing it back to NY...It was very apparent in those few encounters how Gideon burned for Eva as he himself says ; so why not imitate her competition. Gideon said himself that Corinne resembled his mother especially in her wardrobe choices. Why not up her game and dress a little more provocatively as she really believes that Eva and Gideon are not solid. She's pulling out all the stops practically throwing herself at Gideon and it is getting tiresome. Corinne needs to get a life and a new man that is not Gideon...

  12. I'm kinda ###### Eva quit her job and her reply for doing so was "I have a wedding to plan". What happened to all the "gotta stay busy" and "I love work rush/highs"? She was such a determined character and then she just quits?? I know Mark is leaving, but helllllooooo she still has a job. What kind of 24 y/o wanting to make it in NYC (NYC for crying out loud!!!*cough cough* cutthroat world) quits their job just like that? That looks so, so bad on resumes! Her excuse of working for Gideon's competitors is out the window because she told Mark she couldn't work on the tech gaming stuff. I just don't get it. Now, if her job became heading up the Cross Industries charity stuff, that would make sense, but she is a 24 y/o straight out of college. What does she know about heading up charities? Since Sylvia says she doesn't write the characters, the characters tell her what to write, I don't feel mad getting so annoyed and ranting about this. If Eva were my friend I would fly up to NYC and tell her this myself, then steal her man, hehe.

I don't think Eva is in a position at her job that she is able to pick and choose the projects she wants to work on. She was just hired and is really in actuality an apprentice. I think she really had no choice and this was what she was coming to terms with in the days apart from Gideon. Sylvia is right when she said that the marriage was like a ball and chain for Eva. If they would have waited a couple of years to marry, Eva would have been able to establish herself in the advertising world or at least begin to build that reputation she clearly wants. Besides planning the wedding, i don't know what Sylvia has in mind for Eva but I hope it is something substantial because Eva can't spend her days waiting for Gideon to come home and f@&$ her or dealing with all of those crazy exes... What do you all think?

    no choice

  13. The are supposed to start shooting again in Vancouver BC in June - so  release is  probably a year from now.  I've seen  it twice - once at a free screening and the 2nd time with a group of friends.  I liked it better the 2nd time around.

Yes I definitely need to see it a second time before I form my opinion!!

  14. Totally agree Lighthouse... The red-headed receptionist has a hand in this. Either she is a relative of Anne's or a friend of Corinne's...

That being said; I am still mad at Gideon for giving Corinne a moment of his attention. I give Eva an Academy Award for not giving Corinne some "Krav Maga " right there in the office lol!! Corinne is now at the top of my list of who should receive Krav Maga from Eva.

  15. I was furious when Eva approached his office and found the glass frosted. then to have Scott announce her to Gideon...only to find him with Corrine!!!! They seemed cozy to me..him on edge of desk her leaning into him while he actually held and looked at a picture of them together!!! Why is the glass frosted?? I think Eva should have listened to Gideon and announced to the world they are married back a weeks ago then Corrine may have pulled in her claws.

The more I "obsess" over this...lol... I can't understand why Corinne is even permitted on the Cross Industries floor...Correct me if I'm wrong but Gideon and Corinne did not part as friends at Tableau One when they met there... Why is it that she is standing so close to him looking at the photos... I don't know why he looked at them in the first place and also Gideon would have to know it was the end of the work day and Eva may be coming to see him. I hope Gideon is not reverting to his "cluelessness" concerning Corinne. In the back of my mind I'm hoping that Gideon has a devious plan of his own in mind for Corinne and he is stringing her along with patience and civility before he lets her have it... What do you all think??

  16. DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE EXCERPT:I think this scene takes place Friday, after they have had their meeting with Dr. P and perhaps dinner liked they planned at the end of CBY. Maybe Corrine was making a scene in the lobby and to make it stop Gideon relented and let her see him. To go over the "good times" that they had by going down picture/memeory lane? Glad that he let Eva in so that she could have seen them together.Interesting that Eva quit her job.....wonder what she will do now? Plan a wedding...GREAT!!!!As for the tell all book of Corrine's....maybe her publisher is like Penquin (real slow) and that they will take at least 6 months to a year to get the book out....that gives Gideon plenty of time to buy it and put a stop to letting that book out!!!Sylvia this was a nice Valentine's Day treat Thanks!!

I have to say I was really surprised by the excerpt that Gideon is still giving Corinne the time of day. It angers me so I can just imagine how Eva feels. And if Corinne was making some sort of scene then Gideon just gave into her tantrums like a small child. I hope Eva will set Corinne straight in the next book...somebody needs to take the lead there. Gideon was supposedly devastated the last week apart from Eva but has the patience to deal with Corinne? Well all I have to say is that I started out the last book being irritated at Eva and in this book it looks like I'm irritated at Gideon!! And that is a good question... What will Eva do? I am truly very sorry for Eva that she had to give up her job that she clearly loved . I hope Gideon realizes what a sacrifice that was for her and makes it right somehow because Eva can never be happy just being Gideon's wife. She needs something of her own "maybe not an empire but a reputation for sure"..I hope she gets it. I think Eva needs to go visit Victor and get his take on everything. He always has alot of common sense advice for her... What do you all think??

  17. I'm taking my chances feeling I'm doing something criminal by creating a small thread about FSOG movie.

I read the FSOG but once I came across Gideva I forgot all about Mr. Grey. I liked that Crossfire had more to the plot, more characters, more action than just the s*x. Now I've re-read the Fithy Shades since I'm going to the premiere next Friday (girls night out), and I have to admit that I'm once again a bit charmed by Mr.Grey.

I have some expectations to the movie, first of all I hope that the movie covers all three books. Hopefully more than just the first one, or else there is not going to be ha happy ending. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson were not like what I have pictured Christian & Ana, but now I think they do fit the part, and I'm excited to see them in action. The s*x part is huge in the books (almost too much), and I hope we get to see other things in the movie like the family parties, perhaps the helikopter accident, the proposal, Leila (Christian's x-submissive), Jack (Ana's creepy boss).. I don't know, there is a lot to cover, and the movie is set to be about 2 hours.

Are you going to see the FSOG? What are your expectations?

I do not think the book will cover all 3 books... I think it will only cover the first book and I wonder how it will end;with her leaving him or the reconciliation... We won't have long to wait now.

  18. I agree with nearly everything you've said except for the part about anal play. When Gideon says he does not do anal play it is because Eva has asked that of him. That he touch her there. If it's true that he did indeed play in this way with Anne then that was a flat-out lie to Eva - the first we've really come across. It's possible that Gideon considers both Eva & Anne exceptions to his normal encounters but for very different reasons! Obviously with Anne it was a form of revenge against Hugh & Dr Lucas whereas with Eva it is because she is the love of his life. For this reason he may not consider it a lie because it was very much not his norm. With Anne he was acting out of character in that situation...? Thoughts?

I think Gideon definitely meant HE didn't receive even though he let Eva touch him there on the plane enroute to the Crosswinds Resort.

It was stated that with Anne he used sexual toys anally not his di$$ which he says usually doesnt get involved.

  19. Does anyone remember in RIY when Gideon fought Nathan but Eva thought he was "with" Corrine? Why was Corrine there and looking like that?

Sorry if this is a throwback. I was re-reading to take a break and got to that part and it hit me that I don't remember the answer.

Corinne was there to see Gideon but I believe he refused to see her; he did have a lunch appointment which he never attended due to Nathan showing up that day. Corinne was surely disappointed and of course when she saw Eva she took advantage of the situation.

  20. But has he really had hundreds of women or was that just something said to Anne when he was making her think he had treated a lot of women how he had treated her. He's obviously had a fair few women as they would have been falling over themselves to get to someone as attractive and rich as he is, but apart from Anne and Corrine they all seemed to be one night stands.Agreed he may not have followed through with intercourse, with Eva it is pretty much his realisation that intercourse IS possible, that he can get it up and get it off, and it doesn't have to involve any little extras, although he'd obviously like the occasional diversion from vanilla. He may have needed his other women to be cuffed as he probably doesn't really like them touching him, but something must have clicked with Eva and he allowed her free reign with him apart from when he was really angry and reverted to his need for kink. The Deanna thing is intriguing and I am adding that to my list of really would like to know more and get a better resolution than her just accepting the exclusive of the wedding pictures - backing down over what seemed to be a big deal to her to a few photos doesn't seem right, I don't think she is as bad as Anne, who is the real danger, but something has wound her up. And again, could that be Anne - if Deanna was seeing Anne for therapy and Anne was already wanting to get back at Gideon, then winding Deanna up over what was basically something trivial as Shan12 mentions, and knowing he has a reputation for one night stands, why is Deanna ###### bent on getting back at him? Okay as a journalist it would be a scoop to get the dirty low down on someone in the news, but as he's already seen as a playboy it would probably only enhance that reputation, not mar it.Maybe it is just Anne manipulating people to get her own revenge - wonder how she is going to feel when she finds out that Gideon was also getting revenge on her husband for lieing about the abuse, and Hugh for carrying out the abuse. Although Gideon did say something to Anne about her husband, I wonder if she knows the real reason Gideon took that action - would her husband have told her Gideon was abused - if he did would it have been during the Gideon/Anne affair or after? If during, as a therapist she should have had the sense to handle things properly for someone who had childhood abuse, and maybe would have realised the way he treated her was to do with that and even if told afterwards it would have made her think about it. Her comments in CBY made me think she didn't know about the abuse at all.

I agree; I do not think Anne knows about the abuse. I think her hatred of Gideon is simply because he played her. She fell in love with him and just as Gideon said "I sent her back to her husband." Her comment about breaking his toys and throwing them away was obviously referring to their relationship if you could call it that.

  21. We all know that Gideon told Eva that he used the hotel for his sexual encounters before her, but what if he meant while he lived in New York. He does twist his words.  Are we to believe that he never had sex while away on business at his resorts and casinos. He met Arnaldo in Italy. The beautiful women there didn't catch his eye. Perhaps while away he went to sex clubs. Look what he said about the two girls coming onto him backstage at Bret's concert. He would have taken them both on in the past before Eva. But he was in San Diego not New York. Sounded to me like he would have taken them to his hotel room there. He is a clever, crafty man with a huge sexual appetite.

He did not lie to Eva...he told her the truth..yes in New York I've only used the hotel but she didn't ask about while he was away and therefore he feels he doesn't need to elaborate as this may upset her.

Also when he explains that he doesn't do anal play. Perhaps he was meaning he doesn't receive. As we find out with Anne he has done this with her. He again didn't lie, just explained in a way to spare Eva's feelings yet still tell the truth.

Totally agree with all of this Shan; once again these would all be sexual encounters; in no way would these be termed "lovers." Eva is the only woman Gideon has Ever loved therefore his lover; I think I would even consider Corinne a sexual partner... What do you all think? Also in the next book I do not think we will ever truly address Gideon's sexual past in any more depth. His past is the past as is Eva's and they are both much more concerned with the future. The only way this would ever be revisited is if more of his crazy exes come out of the shadows to torment Eva... :(. :(
