  1. The abuse started off as handjobs. "Teaching Gideon how to master*ate correctly". Probably after the examine to identify if Gideon was abused and nothing was found, Hugh escalated the abuse up to rape. Penetration.

That's why Gideon said he didn't do anal play.

    I agree Julie.

I also have to say that when I see you say Lizzie it always makes me giggle.

  2. Hi Kirsten,

I read your posting and I was wondering; what makes you think that Gideon will allow Eva to travel to San Diego without him (even if Cary is in tow)?  I can understand Gideon’s potential concerns prior to Nathan’s death but what I wonder is Gideon is going to trust Eva and let her deal with Brett or could it be that Gideon allows Eva to go to SD under the guise of her going alone but he shadows her during the entire time?

I was wonder about the whole Russian Mob thing and I have to admit that whole scenario threw me for a loop.  I was wondering; do you have any ideas on that whole thing?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

    Hi GiGi,

I think that Gideon is going to want to go, but this trip was supposed to be for Eva and Cary to get their relationship straight. Gideon will insist on security I think, but I can't see him forcing Eva to take him. I think he will perhaps shadow her, but I can't see him insisting he has to go. Him insisting would mean that he doesn't trust Eva, and after everything they have been threw Eva is not going to take kindly to that.

The Russian mob thing threw me for a loop also. Some have suggested that Clancy and his FBI brother are involved with that angle. I'm just not sure. I'm still trying to figure out what my feelings are about the whole thing. I need to re-read a few of the scenes to see if I am missing some sort of clue.

  3. Soooo sick of Corinne. Cut. Her. Off. For the love of God! You can't be friends with your exes. Even though he says he's not leading her on...HE IS! Attention is giving her HOPE.

Seems like there's more going on between Deanna and Gideon. I no likey.

    And Elizabeth. Whew!

I loved this book because it's Eva and Gideon against the world and they're doing it. The wedding was perfect. I can relate. My husband got me to marry him the same way. We didnt tell for a while, because of my mom :/ BUT, I still haven't had the wedding. I will live vicariously through Mr. And Mrs. Cross.

I feel like Corrine needs cutting off IMMEDIATELY. Stow the freakin guilt Cross. Eva will be in SD and Gideon will be home sorting out Corrine's in-patient treatment. Enough already.

I think we will have more of Gideon and Eva against the world in the next two.

You want the wedding Michele? My friend eloped in a similar manner and she never wanted the ceremony they said they would eventually have. They have big family issues so I think once the cat was out of the bag, they were just happy they were married and never started to plan anything else.

  4. I am not a big fan of hers, I know that a lot of people see her as Eva but I just don't see it. There is something about her that I just do not get. David Gandy though... that man is seriously swoon worthy. He is definitely fun to look at. I really hope that the producers are able to make a deal work with Henry Cavill because I have to agree that he is definitely Gideon.

I agree with you I'm not a big fan of her. Eva's body is like hers but for me that's as far as it goes. As an actress that plays Eva on TV I dont see her playing that role.

    David Gandy is gorgeous!

I think she is to old to play Eva, although I know she is Sylvia's choice.

  5. I was wondering how Gideon had texted Angus when both he and JFG were flexed cuff and taken off by security (unless they were cuffed with hands in front)  He should have texted Eva also.

If Anne Lucas is the redhead flirting with Cary at the last dinner, she has a serious problem or a really bad marriage with Terry Lucas.  She puts the moves on Gideon years earlier and then tries again with Cary....  Don't see how she is connected with Corrine, but she could be...

I did like the quote from Eva in the 4 or 5 chapter when they had their first "date" in the apartment....when Gideon sayed he had a full time job keeping her satisifed, and she said she is not a sex maniac....she says "don't shower, get a stomach or just say NO..."

What is up with Dr. Terry and Anne not attending social functions together? Surely if he were there Eva would have noticed him.

  6. Very good point. Which makes me wonder exactly when did he ask for the ring?

Even while he'd been keeping himself away from Eva, he'd been making plans for the day they would be getting back together. I wonder whether it was when he resumed going out with Corrine that he asked his mother for the ring -- determined in his own mind that as soon as he could do it, he was going to fall down on his knees to Eva begging for forgiveness, ready then and there to ask her to marry him as proof of his devotion.

Because Eva wasn't ever supposed to know the real truth about how Nathan died. Gideon's original plans must have had to involve winning back Eva by proving to her he loved her and her alone -- hench proving to Eva that she, not Corrine, is the one he wants to marry.

Now if I'm right on this timing .... it was while Gideon and Eva were apart that he obtained the engagement ring (and probably that photo of him and his father on the beach, the photo he promised in North Carolina he'd get from his mother, who had it) .... well ... how much you want to bet Lizzie told Corrine that Gideon asked for the engagement ring.

I suppose it's even possible that Gideon counted on his mother telling Corrine about the ring .... part of his deliberately sending Corrine mixed messages. If that's true, that's pretty d a m n cold. Yes, Gideon was desperate -- desperate to protect Eva from the police -- but it still doesn't excuse him brutally using Corrine.

While this is certainly all plausible I can't accept that Gideon would be that malicious, as to hope Elizabeth would tell Corrine.

  7. I get the distinct impression she's finished writing #4 and is now negotiating terms with a publisher. Please, please, please let that be true!!!!

And if it is Penguin that gets Crossfire #4, they d a m n well better stick to a promised schedule for release.

I say "if it is Penguin" because Sylvia did explain on Facebook that Penguin bought the rights to only the first three Crossfire novels. The initial contract never went beyond those three.

Thus Sylvia has options to take her business elsewhere to another publishing house, if she so desires.

    I think you're right LN. ;)

I'd like her to move on from Penguin, but that could be messy. Truth be told I'd like her to self pub the last two but that would be a huge undertaking and I know she doesn't have that type of time.

  8. Good morning,

I have a new theory for the remodel on the 10th floor. Maybe Gideon is going to start a new business in the crossfire building.... Cross Advertising... And he plans to hire Mark and Eva and Will and his boss. Then Eva will haber the people she loves to work with while working for Cross Industries at the same time.

    Whatcha think?

    I've thought about that too.

  9. Thinking about it last night. I think that trip to SD, will be good for Eva. It might put some issues she had to rest. Brett included. Yes her dad put her in touch with Dr Travis, but not before she had had her wild times. It was almost as if she done a runner from there, going to New York. Making a new start.

I agree Julie. After thinking about it ad nauseam it seems to me that this will be the "ending" of Eva dealing with all of her past issues, and we can now move on to dealing with Gideon's. I'm not worried about the SD trip. I'm actually anxious to meet Dr. Travis.
