Hi ShazScott1980, Do you think that Brett will be the one to ultimately tell the media that Eva is one in "Golden Girl"? What do you think that Brett will hope to gain by spilling the beans? Do you think that Brett hopes that they will get back together or is he afraid that Gideon may pose a bigger threat to his plans? Eva has already said that Brett doesn't stand a chance with her.

Hi LNCronan, Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Cary seems to be really good at “talking†Eva into things? He also tends to be a tad forgetful about certain important details (like who is going to be there, etc.)... (Cough, cough…. ). Sigh, Cary can be so naughty sometimes! In this instance I think that Gideon having a “little†sister could be a very advantageous thing! He now will have all sorts of reasons to bump into Eva or run into her and Brett wouldn’t be able to do a darn thing about it. After all, Ireland likes Eva and they have started forming a friendship, regardless of what Eva’s relationship may or may not be with Gideon. Brett would come off looking like a real dog if he suggested or even insisted that Eva have no contact with Ireland. Or could it be that Ireland knows that Gideon and Eva make a good couple despite their problems so she decides to play “matchmaker†and pesters her older brother (whom she adores) to take her to events that she knows Eva will be at? When little girls want something, they will move heaven and earth to get it! Anyway you cut it; this is a win win situation! What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, Do you think that what Eva said to him earlier in BTY was running through his mind when he brought Ireland to the Vidal Records Event (…You set the precedent for how we deal with exes…). Or do you think that it may have been a fun way for Gideon to spend some time with his sister AND get a chance to see Eva in an innocent way? Surely Gideon couldn’t be penalized either by the cops, DA, or the public by spending an afternoon with his sister, listening to great music, and getting to meet rock stars/great bands. Then if Gideon happened to “innocently†run into Eva well…. oh well. You are right, there is no way of knowing who exactly brought Ireland to this event, but at some point Ireland connected with her brother and Gideon took responsibility for her and took her around to the different events (you know the ones where Eva would be…). A brother chaperoning his sister always makes for a good cover. What do you think? :)

Hi Sscrph, I agree completely. If Gideon did infact kill Nathan than he planned his alibi in a brilliant way! All the cops have is speculation and supposition! There is no way they would risk getting the media involved. If anything I think that the media would end up running the cops up a flag pole without any physical evidence or proof of their theories. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, I believe you. I think that thus far, there would be no reason for anyone (i.e. the general public or even the media) to be alerted to the fact that Gideon is a person of interest in Nathan’s murder. Each and every single person who is involved with case (i.e. Monica, Stanton, Gideon, Eva, etc.) would have every reason to keep quiet. No one from this clan would want any more attention brought to this subject than necessary.

Hi everyone, Is it just me or has anyone ever had the experience that they read the book, but then when they go back to reread the book, they completely miss something? I can't tell you the number of times I have read something, then I have to go back into the book to get a reference and then I reread the passage and I find that I missed some extra detail from that passage in the book. Sometimes I gobble up the book in one bite instead of savouring it. What does everyone think? Does anyone do that too? :)

Hi LNCronan, I agree, I think that Cary shows great potential! I hope that he can remain on that path. I think that Cary deserves happiness and success in his life. I think that right now he is still really vulnerable. He has managed to land the Grey Isles Account which would be huge for him as a model. I just hope he will be on a role. Actually I think that as a result of being attacked, he may become even more popular and ad companies may seek out his "look". Who knows he may end up being the poster child for anti-gay bashing(which in a strange way could be a boost for his career). What do you think?

Hi ShazScott1980, I like that idea just as much! I have no problem with Gideon helping to clean up the "Nathan Mess". It would definately add a different twist to the story! I can hardly wait for June 4th! :)

Hi LNCronan, It is true that Brett seems more settled but what constitutes more settled? Yes he has a recording contract and finally has regular gigs via his touring but asides from that, we the reader know nothing about Mr. Brett. I have to say I just don't like this Brett! Yuck! I know my thought isn't rational, but I want Eva and Gideon back together again! The sooner that happens, the better! Now how many more chapters will we the readers have to endure this Brett character? Sigh! :)

Holy Cow Woman, You are going to need vitamin shots and eye drops so your eyes don't dry up and fall out of their sockets! I will have to say though, anyone who can do that would be one seriously determined person! Way to go! :)

Hi MicheleWV, Do you think that Cary is being mischievious because he is afraid that somewhere along the line he will be replaced? It is obvious that at some point Gideon and Eva will wind up together and hopefully married. Thus far Cary has been emotionally and financially dependent on Eva and her family. What will happen if Eva moves in with Gideon or even marries him. What will happen to Cary? Those might be huge worries for a man who may never have had to support himself in the "real world" (i.e. without drugs/illegal substances or by prostitution). What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi KiMa, I would absolutely love it if someone else other than Gideon killed Nathan. I don't know if Parker is the same character as in RIY. I would be thrilled beyond the moon! Please let it be anyone other than Gideon! :)

Hi Jls1216, I agree. I think it would be nice for Ireland to have relationships outside of her immediate family. I do hope that she develops a closer relationship with Gideon. Now if Eva and Gideon got married, I think that would be even better! :)

Hi everyone, Something just occurred to me. Thus far, the media hasn’t caught wind of this entire Nathan murder fiasco. The good detectives haven’t spilled the beans and no one regardless of their camp is going to say a d**n thing about this entire scenario, so how on earth would it come out that Gideon is the main person of interest? Wouldn’t the detectives be shooting themselves in the foot if they leaked that kind of information to the media? Thus far, all they have are a bunch of suspicions and suppositions. They don’t have one piece of physical evidence or any tangible proof. So if the media gets wind of this story who would be the first to leak the information. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? What does everyone think?

Hi Jls1216, I agree! You said it best! Cary is most definately on Team Eva! :)

Hi LNCronan, How would Christopher Jr. gain Corinne's ear? Thus far, the reader is led to believe that Christopher Jr. and Corinne may have never spent any real time together. Gideon wouldn't have taken her home to meet his family or invited his family over to his house. Somethng else just came to mind, if Gideon explicitly warned Eva to stay away from his brother, then wouldn't Gideon have done the same to Corinne? Why would Gideon want to put Corinne in harms way by having contact with his younger brother? If Corinne had indeed been warned about Christopher Jr. by Gideon, why would she disregard that warning? Something about that doesn't make sense. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi AMC, I could totally see something like that happening. I know that Cary had a substance abuse problem, but I don't know if he was completely abstaining from alcohol use. When he and Eva got on the plane to go to Vegas, he had an alcoholic drink. Eva warned him then about mixing over the counter medications and alcohol. I wonder what kind of scenario Sylvia might come up with to play that storyline out? What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, “...Worship from Gideon...†easy now sister! Come back from the edge (just kidding)! Again you have completely vilified a woman who did nothing but fall in love with a man who didn’t love her! No, sorry I don’t count... “I guess “I loved her in my own way...†as love! I think that Gideon may have wanted to love her but in the end he just wasn’t able to. There are several references in RIY which allude to this sentiment, which I won’t bore you with, but I can go and hunt them down if you wish. You either love someone or you don’t. Gideon didn’t! Gideon was never able to open up to Corinne allow her to see the real him, never slept with her at his apartment, never spent an entire night with her, and never confided in her about his past! All those actions show that Gideon didn’t love Corinne! That isn’t sinister, Gideon just wasn’t capable of love at that time and she wasn’t the one that was supposed to bring that out in him. It was a bad situation that Gideon made worse by staying in the relationship. Have you ever thought that Corinne may have started out alright but slowly lost her self esteem and self respect because of the way that Gideon was treating her during their relationship? Corinne would have been a young adult at the time and as such maybe wasn’t a seasoned pro at the relationship gig. She meets Gideon and falls instantly in love with him and does what most women would do, she chased him and caught him. Only the relationship wasn’t panning out the way she was hoping. Gideon used a lot of psychological control techniques on Corinne. • Gideon controlled the s** • Gideon controlled where they would have s** • Gideon may have shut down when Corinne would ask or try to initiate something new in the bedroom. • I think that Corinne DID TRY to talk to Gideon about what was going on in their relationship but Gideon most likely shut her down. • The theory presented makes Corinne sound like a mindless Stepford Wife- she was a young, beautiful woman who would most likely have been raised to voice her opinions and express her feelings. • I think that inadvertently Gideon took that away from her. It is like you said, Corinne was young, rich, beautiful and on the way to becoming well educated. She could have had anyone that she wanted. There would have been no way that she would have been that twisted from the get-go. I think that Gideon may have had a serious hand in making her that way.

Hi LNCronan, I think when someone factors in revenge into an equation, and then Gideon financially ruining Vidal Records would make all the sense in the world. I don’t think that Vidal Records would constitute even a tenth of Gideon’s net worth. So dumping it for revenge sake wouldn’t make a financial difference to him. I think that if Christopher Sr. Was responsible for covering up Gideon’s abuse and not getting him any help, then I think that he would be getting what he would deserve. What does everyone think?
-
Hi LNCronan, I would really like to know why Gideon has that controlling interest. Do you think that if Elizabeth Vidal knew her husband was covering up Gideon’s rape? How would you factor in Elizabeth Vidal’s reaction to discovering that her son Gideon had controlling interest of Vidal Records? How on earth would Christopher Sr. explain that to his wife? Do you not think that Elizabeth would have said something to her son about that situation? Something in that situation doesn’t add up. I really hope that we get some more information on that or at least a snippet or two to speculate about. Right now, I can’t figure this entire thing out. What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, Monica left her first marriage because she found out about Eva’s rapes. The hospital would have confirmed the miscarriage, vaginal and anal scarring. They already had the proof. There would have been no way for Monica to refute that kind of evidence. I am not saying that Monica would have tried. Let’s remember that Eva was taken to the hospital initially because of excessive bleeding not because she confessed to her mother about being raped and brutalized. Whereas Gideon supposedly made an outcry to someone, most likely his mother and instead of going to a neutral location like a hospital, she decided to try and keep everything quiet from the get-go not realizing that there may have been other persons conspiring behind her back. Instead of listening to her intuition as a mother, she allowed herself to be influenced wrongly by others. I think it will be very interesting to see if Elizabeth does atone for her wrong doings. I do however think that Elizabeth realizes that she made a HUGE mistake where her son is concerned. She has effectively lost her relationship with Gideon. That alone would have given her reason to sit back and reflect.

Hi LNCronan, I agree with you. Hold on….have the heavens opened up? I think that the budding relationship between Gideon and Ireland could be a really good thing for both of them. It would give Gideon the sense of family that he never had and Ireland the opportunity to get to know the brother she has always idolized. I also think that by bringing Ireland along, Gideon avoids putting any undue stress or pressure that is on his and Eva’s relationship (or lack thereof right now). It would at any rate, help their future relationship. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, I think that part of the storyline could be one of the best parts of the book. Although Eva does have some feelings for Brett, they pale in comparison to what she has with Gideon! With Gideon she has her self respect(she came into the relationship with her own sense of self respect and dignity), with Brett she never had any (she lost her self respect and dignity). With Gideon she is trying to establish open and honest communication (well she is trying and thick headed Gideon is dragging his feet), with Brett she had none.

Hi LNCronan, I like the fact that Gideon took his sister to the Vidal Record Event instead of Corinne. I think that Gideon was taking Eva’s suggestion about him getting to know his sister better and it would also be a really kind way of not rubbing the Corinne relationship/alibi in Eva’s face. The thought of Corinne still upsets Eva somewhat, so what Gideon did was nice. What do you think? What does everyone think?
